A Week Away

Summary:

Jay was out of town. It had been three days, and already she was feeling it. The construction crew had gone home for the day. Sam was left with two options– deal with the ghosts, or watch cable in her room. The second was, for tonight, far more appealing. The only interesting thing on that night was The Holiday, and even knowing how she got when she watched that movie, it beat boredom.

Notes:

Certainly out of character and with myself as the target audience. I'm not caught up on the show, so set fairly early.

Chapter Text

It was raining outside. The roof was dripping water, the smell of old house stronger with the weather. It poured in places, worst in that bedroom Sam and Jay hadn’t yet gotten around to de-molding. The air was heavy with moisture.

Jay was out of town. There was a cooking competition in the city he had signed up for. Sam had offered to hold down the fort while he was gone. There was a lot of construction to oversee. Jay had done the dance with her, the “Are you sure?”s and the “I don’t have to go…”s, but she had assured him that, if he won the prize, they could use the money. Being apart for a week wouldn’t be that bad.

Besides, she loved that movie.

As the credits rolled and commercials began– credits overlaid in the corner– she could feel herself becoming restless. Her chest felt near sore with loneliness. She could’ve sworn she never used to get like this, but living with Jay for so long, she wasn’t used to being alone for longer than a couple days anymore. The idea of it being another half a week before he came home was almost unbearable.

A shower, she decided, would help. And… she reached into the drawer of her bedside table, and grabbed an object hidden conspicuously under a t-shirt. Couldn’t hurt.

One could never get fully used to how annoying a combo it was to live with the gang of ghosts who lived in this house. The closet case and the meathead were arguing over some stupid TV program that was playing, a historical romance. They wouldn’t miss Trevor if he wandered away. Maybe he could check on Samantha. Get his eye candy fill for the night. Maybe rub one out later. Anything beat sticking around while his housemates argued.

He made his way up the stairs, and the sounds from below got muffled. The soft sound of the rain pounding on the roof and the pouring of water further muffled the argument below. Atop that, he could hear the sound of a shower running. A pang of disappointment hit him. She was busy. Then… an idea. Opportunity. If he was sneaky enough, he could catch an easy eyeful. It was wrong, certainly, but basically victimless so long as he wasn’t caught.

As he quietly approached the door of the bathroom, he heard another sound. A soft buzz, beneath the sound of the running water. Like electricity. But the ancient lights in the house weren’t quite that loud. Trevor’s eyebrows shot up. Seemed he was extra lucky tonight.

He stuck his head through the wall, slowly and cautiously. The room was filled with steam, which lazily floated around and fogged up the mirrors. The curtain was drawn around the shower, but Trevor could see Sam’s form silhouetted. He could hear a good deal more in here than he did through the door. He'd been right. The buzzing sound was coming from the shower, where Samantha stood. And other sounds came with it. Small moans and heavy breathing that went straight to his ghostly dick. God, she was in there, just a few feet away, touching herself.

The curtain was drawn, so she couldn’t see him, and he didn’t cast any shadows that might fall on the curtain and alert her. He allowed himself to fully enter the room, quietly as he could. He paused as he heard a small gasp, but it was in pleasure, not shock. Times like this made him glad he’d given that kid his boxers. He palmed his growing erection gently, savoring the sounds that Sam made, and the image in his head of how she must look right now, all hot and wet and naked. He wished he could take a peek, but getting caught was a worse fate than not being able to see her.

What was she thinking of as she did it? Probably Jay, that bastard. He doesn’t even know what he’s got here. If Trevor had a girl like Sam, he would never leave her. He’d show her how much he loved her, every night. Multiple times every night.

He let himself entertain the thought, the dream, the fantasy, that she was thinking about him. A fully corporeal Trevor, fucking her while her husband was away. Maybe while he was in the other room, even. Nearly getting caught… Trevor held in a moan as he rubbed his fully-erect dick. He couldn’t let himself make a sound. He listened closely, to see if he could make out any words in her string of moans. “God” was in there, as were quite a few “fuck”s. No, a “fuck me” was in there, too. God, how Trevor wanted to. He wanted to do it every way there was to do it. Lean her over a desk. Pick her up and bounce her on him. Eat her out until she screamed for more. His own breath was coming more roughly now, and he let out a small grunt. He stopped, petrified. Praying that she hadn’t heard.

Sam was so close. She pictured Jude Law’s perfect body, flush against hers. So close. That’s when she heard it. Almost quiet enough to miss, but loud enough to make her pause. She panted, listening for the sound she was almost sure she had heard. She switched off her vibrator and peeked around the curtain.

“F-fuck! What the fuck, Trevor!” He was flush against the wall, a tent lifting the bottom of his shirt.

“S-Sam! I can explain! They were arguing downstairs, and I wanted to– to get your help in resolving it, but you were in here, and I didn’t want– I didn’t want to interrupt!

“Trevor!” She felt like her heart was going to jump out of her chest. She let herself take a few steadying breaths, careful not to let her eyes drift toward... nevermind. “You can’t just… be in here while I shower. Total invasion of my privacy!”

“I know, I’m sorry. I can leave.” He said the words, but he made no move to leave. Waiting to be told. Hoping he wouldn’t be. No, that couldn’t be it. Why was he still here?

She let herself get a good look at him. He was breathing heavily, hands a little too close to his crotch. His face was flushed– how did that work, ghosts breathing and flushing without blood or needing air– and his expression was difficult for her to read. Part scared, maybe, part… hopeful?

“Trevor?”

“Yes?”

“Why are you in here?”

“I-- I told you, I was going to get your help with–”

“Why are you still in here?” She watched his uncomfortable shuffle. He said nothing. It didn’t take a genius to figure out what he’d been doing. It put an ache somewhere low in her, making a guy who wasn’t her husband feel that way about her.

Jay couldn’t see ghosts.

Trevor could keep a secret, couldn’t he?

She felt like she could.

She needed him to.

She put down the vibrator on the small table near the tub. To do so, she had to leave the cover of the curtain. Her upper body was exposed. She heard a small gasp from across the room. He was standing stock-still when she looked at him, eyes wide. The very image of a man who had not gotten any in quite some time. Longer than she had. They both needed it, didn’t they? Need, that’s all it was.

“Trevor…” Her voice was low, now. “Won’t you join me?” She’d shove her shame and guilt deep, deep down. For now, all she could think about was how much she needed release, and how Trevor was the perfect ghost to help her get it.

He practically tripped over himself getting to her. A few paces and he would be there, where he wanted so desperately to be.

“Can you… take your shirt off?” The words came between heavy breaths, her hand having gone somewhere behind that curtain. Her head poked out, eyes half lidded.

“If I take it all the way off, it’ll spring back on. I can unbutton it, that’ll stay.” He paused on the threshold of the tub, hands working the buttons, hesitation taking hold. If he did this, things between them would never be the same. He could back out now, and maybe they could pretend nothing happened. But if he crossed this line, he couldn’t un-cross it.

“Please, Trevor…” Her eyes scanned his exposed body. He knew he was eye candy, but she looked downright hungry. Who would he be if he turned her down just to keep some status quo? Who could see her like that and pass it up? A stronger man than Trevor, certainly. Or a stupid one.

He made the choice. He stepped in to the bathtub beside her.
