Work Text:

The road leading to this place was winding and complicated, as if it did not want to be discovered by any passing soul. On the way, I passed two lighthouses that led the lost sailors home. I stopped at one of them, admiring its power. For the fact that I was so close to the sea, it was surrounded by steep cliffs, one wrong step and I could have found myself a few meters lower. Just looking down gives me shivers, but I couldn't help but look when I had such a mesmerizing sight in front of me. Some may think "but what's so special about stones and water", but I'm sure they haven't experienced the perfect combination, when I think back to the sandy beaches of Kamakura, I'm able to put myself in the shoes of these people, even though I've shared very good memories with my bro- i mean Sae for so many years on these beaches, Scotland will leave its mark on me forever. I will miss these views, so I clutched a small camera in my jacket pocket to capture what I saw in front of me.

I was getting closer and closer to the place I planned to visit, the road - the trodden place by the predecessors was overgrown around, the building nearby looked like it had been abandoned for a long time, but despite this, I was accompanied by the stress of being reprimanded for being near this place, I walked there as quickly as I could. I watched as nature slowly regained what it had previously lost.

I couldn't believe that the fact that people saw views like this every day. I was consumed with envy. Since I joined Blue Lock, I haven't had too many breaks from looking at those dingy and gray walls, with no windows. Maybe that's why I appreciate these views twice as much, being away from Blue Lock and Japan...

I don't hate Japan, but I have the impression that there is an overabundance of everything you can think about and it is very easy to feel overstimulated there, in such a place you cannot normally collect your thoughts. I feel free here, I don't think about hiding and escaping from the noise, because it's just not here. People here are nice, they greet each other at every turn, but I don't think they know that I'm a "famous" footballer.

If I had to choose my place on Earth, it would definitely be Scotland, or more precisely, this coastal city, Aberdeen...

The road I was walking looked more and more like the one I followed on maps. I couldn't wait to see the small waterfall that accompanied this place.

I stopped a little bit from this place, because in the distance, on the grass, there was a man sitting on the grass, judging by his short hair. He looked so calm, a light wind blowing his hair slightly, but the boy didn't care about it, as if he and this place had become one a long time ago. I had an irresistible impression that I associated this silhouette. I came closer, but not too close, so as not to disturb his peace. As soon as the boy sitting on the edge of the cliff straightened up, I noticed that he was wearing headphones and was reading a book, I wasn't that close to see the cover. However, what caught my attention the most in this person was the sprout that belonged to only one person I know.

I shared such a beautiful view with my biggest rival on the field.

"I won't escape Blue Lock even here huh..." I thought.

However, I did not dare to come closer and watched from a distance like the biggest egoist, right after me, of course, I am number one, sitting in silence and enjoying the rays of the sun.

The camera in my pocket suddenly became heavier. I took it out, wondered for a moment if it was a good idea, looked ahead and at the camera in my hands. I decided that I wanted to immortalize this moment where Isagi's hair blends with the sea and the red-orange rock seems so alive, the perfect complement to this image were the flying seagulls and green grass. The boy I had in front of me was nothing like the bloodthirsty enemies on the field or bundle of energy that happens off the field. Isagi in front of me, he was calm, he looked lost in thought, despite the book he was holding. From this picture flowed warmth, comfort as if I had been wrapped in a warm blanket on a cold night. I wanted to burn this image in my head for the rest of my life.

However, it couldn't have been too beautiful, because while taking the photo, I forgot to turn off the flash. I betrayed my position, and the boy straightened up as if he had been caught red-handed, turned towards me, taking off his headphones. We made eye contact for a while, until the boy realized that the person who had disturbed his rest was me, Rin Itoshi. I couldn't read from his expression whether he was happy to see me holding the camera or not. I don't know if he was happy to see me at all.

The silence that followed after what happened lasted for a moment, but I had the impression that hours passed, until finally, Isagi spoke.

"Of all the people, it had to be you huh? Are you so obsessed with me? First you try to take away the goal that could have decided the draw, and now you take my peace?" The boy spoke quietly, but he seemed to be teasing me. I kept quiet because I didn't know what to say, he was right, we lost to France because of me - I won’t even mention the fact that the rest of the World Cup went well for us, but the fact that I'm here at the same time as him is a total coincidence.

He looked me in the eyes, and a moment later he patted the place next to him, on the grass. Unsure of this, I walked over and sat down next to the boy.

"You took a picture of me, didn't you? When will I be able to see it?" Isagi's whisper echoed in my skull, he really wanted to see this picture. I felt a little embarrassed, I felt like my ears and my whole face was burning. The boy just laughed and said that he was just teasing and if he didn't want to, I didn't have to show him this photo. I breathed a sigh of relief.

We sat in silence, but now it was comfortable, interrupted by the gentle sound of the sea and the waves bouncing on the rocks. Isagi didn't put his headphones back on, he didn't go back to reading the book. He just looked into the distance, with me.

I took it as a good sign and focused on what I had in front of me, but I will only admit to myself that I glanced at him out of the corner of my eye a few times. His person complements what I have seen so much. He radiated a harmony that I had not seen for a long time. I'd like to reach for the camera again and take a few more pictures of it...

"Maybe he needed this place as much as I did, we're more alike than I think." I thought, closing my eyes slightly. "Be that as it may, this place can be ours from now on."
