Bad Idea!

Summary:

Wooyoung wasn't a doctor. He was an MMA fighter. But a lifetime spent watching television was enough for him to assume, diagnose even, that the freshman was having a panic attack. He had no idea why he stopped when he didn't know shit about how to handle situations like this.

Then a very, very stupid idea crossed his mind:

Teen Wolf, season 3, episode 11.

Notes:

Work Text:

Wooyoung wasn't stupid.

Okay, maybe he was kind of an idiot sometimes, but he wasn't stupid. And he definitely wasn't heartless. A lot of people said he was thoughtful and a total gentleman, thank you very much.

Which was why he couldn't just ignore the sight of a student —probably a freshman— crouched against a wall in the middle of the hallway.

More specifically, Lydia Martin kissing Stiles Stillinski when he was in the exact same situation as the guy in front of him. Thank God for pop culture.

Now, Wooyoung knew he shouldn't do it, a million things could go wrong because… Well, the reasons were pretty obvious. He stood there like an idiot, staring at the stranger. By then, the guy had started trembling, small gasps escaping him. He looked honestly pathetic, and that tugged at something in Wooyoung's chest. Maybe it stirred up a few other things too. But he wasn't opening that door. Not right now, at least.

Ignoring every protest —completely reasonable protests, by the way— that his brain was screaming at him, he crouched down to the other's level and placed a cool hand on the back of his neck.

He'd heard something about grounding people in reality, like when Stiles gave Scott his inhaler during a panic attack. God. What a loser. He really needed to stop watching so many shitty teen dramas. Then again, Tyler Hoechlin as Derek Hale was way too hot for him not to rewatch the show for the millionth time.

Anywayssss, the guy didn't react. He was still gasping for air, eyes squeezed tightly shut.

"Hey, are you okay?"

What an stupid question, but he had to start somewhere.

There was no response.

"My name is Kang Wooyoung, and it's pretty obvious you're having some kind of panic attack, so please don't report me for what I'm about to do. I swear I'm not taking advantage of you. I just don't know what else to do."

Silence.

The guy seemed completely unaware of his existence.

"Well... here goes nothing."

He muttered it one last time before pressing his mouth against the other's.

It wasn't a good kiss, for obvious reasons. Under different circumstances, Wooyoung would've scored a solid ten out of ten— he was just that good. Still, he was willing to settle for the fact that the guy had stopped trembling. Then he felt the slightest movement against his lips. He cracked his eyes open to see if the other had opened his. He hadn't. Wooyoung should've pulled away right then. The guy was kissing him back, which meant he clearly wasn't frozen by whatever had happened to him anymore.

But fuck it.

Wooyoung wasn't about to be the one to end this. He kept his hand firmly on the back of the other's neck and brushed his tongue carefully against the guy's lower lip, feeling him part his lips for him without any hesitation. He tasted his tongue, the roof of his mouth. Strawberries? Did he taste like strawberries? Fuck. Why was he doing this again?

Apparently, common sense had completely left the building, because Wooyoung kept kissing him. The other guy no longer sounded breathless — at least not because of the panic attack — but because Wooyoung seemed genuinely intent on kissing the life out of him.

They only broke apart when the guy shoved him away. It wasn't a particularly hard push or anything, but it was enough to make Wooyoung lose his balance for a second and force him to readjust his position.

"Uh."

Well.

Apparently Wooyoung really was an idiot.

He looked up and found himself staring into a pair of large, bright eyes.

God.

He was beautiful.

His brain took a few seconds to catch up.

And when it finally did, he was the one starting to panic.

"Sorry. Uh. I'm Wooyoung. I saw you and didn't know what else to do. And it worked pretty well for Lydia when she kissed Stiles during a panic attack, so I thought, why not? And apparently it worked because you're not shaking or gasping for air anymore. Well... at least not for that reason."

As Wooyoung kept rambling, the cheeks of the guy whose name he still didn't know slowly turned a lovely shade of pink.

"Please stop talking."

His voice was rough. Deep. And so ridiculously cute that Wooyoung experienced his second mental short-circuit in less than twenty minutes.

"Thanks for the distraction, though. Even if it was... highly unconventional."

"Yeah, well... apparently watching too many teen dramas gives you the false impression that you can solve any problem by kissing someone." Wooyoung rubbed the back of his neck. "Wouldn't recommend the method, by the way."

"You literally just did."

"Desperate times."

The guy let out a small laugh.

A real laugh this time.

And somehow, Wooyoung felt like that was even worse for his mental stability than the panic attack had been.

"Does this usually work for you?" the stranger asked.

"What, kissing random people?"

"Solving problems."

Wooyoung considered it.

"Honestly? Most of my solutions involve punching things."

That earned him another laugh.

Fuck.

Shit.

"I'm Beomseok, by the way."

"Wooyoung."

"I know."

Right.

Of course he did.

Wooyoung had, after all, introduced himself right before kissing him.

Not his finest moment.

"Can I buy you a coffee?" he asked before his brain could stop him.

Beomseok blinked.

"A coffee."

"Yeah."

"After all that."

Wooyoung considered it.

"To be fair, I don't think there's a social guide for what comes after a panic attack and an ill-advised make-out session."

That got a snort out of Beomseok.

An actual snort. He was adorable.

Jesus Christ.

Wooyoung was done for.

"You really thought that was going to work?" Beomseok asked.

"Honestly?"

"Honestly."

"No."

Beomseok laughed again.

"Then why did you do it?"

Wooyoung groaned.

"Please don't make me explain the Teen Wolf thing again because i will do it."

The smile on Beomseok's face widened.

"Coffee sounds good."

For a second, Wooyoung just stared at him.

Then he grinned.

So… Maybe he really was an idiot.

Maybe kissing strangers in the middle of panic attacks was one of the worst ideas he'd ever had in his entire life.

But it was also the idea that had just landed him a date with a ridiculously cute guy. A guy who looked beautiful with flushed cheeks and teary eyes.

And who, Wooyoung would later discover, looked even prettier when those tears showed up for entirely different reasons.

Notes:

thank you for reading! i hope you enjoyed this silly little fic.

this idea came to me on my way home and i couldn't get it out of my head until i wrote it. i'm not exactly a huge stydia fan (sterek all the way), but come on... hot girl kissing a nerdy boy who's actively having a panic attack? that's wooseok to me

also, wooyoung absolutely seems like the type of person who would use teen wolf as a medical reference, so really, everything here makes perfect sense, he's a loser

anyways, thank you for reading, and you can find me on twitter @dreamthiefx 💙
