Summary: You are obsessed with your husband, Aerion and do not take it lightly when he is offended. You especially cannot stand when men such as Sir Duncan assume that they have the right to violently attack your beloved.
Warnings: Obsession, smut, biting (all loved), violence, arrogant Aerion (as always).
<3
Your anger had always gotten the better of you. All it took was one minor inconvenience to light a fire within you. A fire that burned brighter, bolder and hotter than anyone had ever seen.
Your husband shared the same passion. Although, even you sometimes thought that he was irrational. You always stood behind him though, despite how ridiculous you truly thought what he saw as 'treason' was. That's where you differed slightly; he tended to act angrily in the immediate moment. Whereas you took time to decide a response.
The realm saw you and your husband as a nightmare. But you saw you and your husband as a dream. You cared what people thought initially, when you first wed Aerion, and the words that he said still replay in your mind when your brain tries to worry- "who gives a fuck what they think?"
People saw Aerion as awful, but he meant everything to you. His father hated the realms nickname for you both- the prince and princess of nightmares. Neither of you cared. You cared for each other, and your house. That was plenty to care for.
"I hate it when you do this." Your husband moaned from under the furs, a messy tuft of white hair poking out from a gap within them.
"When I do what?" You asked, wearing a small smile.
"Leave." He huffed, both hands exploding through the warmth, allowing his whole head to pop through.
You laughed, "you are so dramatic husband." You leant down and kissed his forehead. Aerion's eyes closed in bliss. "I rarely go anywhere without you."
He hummed, his eyelashes fluttering slightly as he did so, the violet of his eyes still hidden.
"My love," you stopped fiddling with your jewelled necklace that you had not yet clasped, "when may we return home? You know how I loathe this place."
You and your husband usually resided in Summerhall, your preferred place. It was quiet there, there was less expected of you. Of the two of you.
However, due to the Tourney, your husband had forced you to travel to Ashford. A busy, bustling place that was constantly filled with the chatter and laughter of the common folk.
Aerion opened his eyes now, peering at you with an amused stare.
"We will return home once father allows it. The tourney shan't last long. The joust is today." He replied, not taking his attention off of you. "We will be here for perhaps a week."
You threw your head back and let out a huff. A week sounded much too long for your liking.
Aerion did not respond with words, instead, he sat up and used his hands to prop himself up fully. You felt his hands reach from behind you; one arm caressing over your right shoulder and the other wrapping under your left side. His plump lips nibbled at your shoulders and neck lightly, causing you to let out a relieved breath. Your reaction caused him to bite down slightly harder.
"Careful," you moaned, "don't start something that you cannot finish."
You knew how he would react to that- you liked annoying him, ever so slightly, it turned things much more...passionate.
He grunted slightly, sucking harder at your neck which you were sure was now slightly purple. You didn't care. You wanted the marks. You wanted people to see that you belonged to him, and he to you.
Then, without a second thought, he flipped you over so you lay on your back, and he lingered above you.
"Cannot finish? You are fully aware that I," his head lowered, planting a soft kiss on the corner of your mouth, "always finish."
His hands pinned your own above your head, as he kissed every inch of your body tenderly, slowly. He smirked, pleased with himself as you squirmed.
He got lower, and lower.
He released his hands suddenly, yet you kept them above your head, not ready for him to have let them go so quickly.
One of his hands found its way to your perked breast, fiddling with your nipple gently, causing your hips to inch themselves forwards. He let out a small chuckle.
Slowly, while looking up at you, he placed two fingers in his own mouth, you nodded in approval, impatiently. He smirked, placing them inside you with a quickness that you hadn't expected. You moaned out in pleasure. His head lowered, and you felt his tongue dance around you.
"Prince. Princess. You must be ready." A loud, heavy knock and a booming voice echoed throughout the room. Your heads both whipped to the door. Aerion did not respond, instead shaking his head at you and lowering his mouth once again.
The door swung open, you naked and sprawled out on the bed. Aerion's fingers still buried within you. Neither of you cared though, so neither of you moved.
The servant who had the unfortunate job of bothering you both just stared, his eyes wide and his mouth open agape.
"We shan't be long." Aerion announced, returning to what he was doing. Then, a thought appeared in his head, causing him to raise his head fully and look at the young boy.
"If you touch yourself while thinking of my wife, I will find out." He spoke the words with a lack of emotion, but it was true. Aerion would now definitely spend the rest of his day torturing himself with the thought of someone imagining you inappropriately. He was often jealous.
Just yesterday, upon your arrival, a very large man- Duncan you think his name was, looked at you for too long and Aerion's head nearly exploded. You liked it. It reassured you of his love.
To your dismay, you truly did have to make haste to ready yourself. Events like these were ones that Aerion had to partake in- today's joust being one of them. This meant that you had to look as beautiful as humanly possible, and despite your husband's constant reminders that you "look to be carved by the gods themselves," nothing made you feel prettier than your handmaidens spending extra time on your hair and jewels. You were not born a Targaryen, so you felt the need to spend additional time in order to look like one.
Once ready, you sought out your husband whom you knew had been busy readying himself.
"My wife." He greeted happily, dressed in a thick coat of armour, his large dragon helmet held by his right hand. He placed it down gently upon your arrival.
"My love." You called, walking the short distance from the entrance to him and engulfing him in a hug. Both of your hands held either side of his face, and you placed a kiss on his lips. Habitually, your hands trailed down to his neck- you usually did this to smooth out his collar. However, when you felt pure metal, you both laughed.
"Be lucky, husband," you spoke loudly and proudly, before moving your mouth to his ear, "you started something that you never finished, so I expect this to be over quickly so we may resume." You purred in his ear. He used his left hand to slap your ass, and then hold it tightly.
You were escorted to the list, with a guard either side of you as you found your seat next to Baelor in the gallery. Baelor greeted you politely, making small conversation about something that you didn't care for. You liked Baelor, but jousts were your furthest idea of a good time. You much preferred to read, or write, or paint. Or do anything that did not include the risk of your husband being fatally injured.
Within a short time, the arena had completely filled. Loud cheers surged through the air. You felt eyes on you, occasionally looking over briefly to see the huddles of people, some who looked at you and were clearly speaking of you. You did not care. You sat patiently and waited for the joust to commence.
"Prince of house Targaryen. Prince Aerion Brightflame!"
You heard your husband's named and titles called. Instinctively, you stood up and cheered. Baelor peered up at you, a small smile playing on his lips. It was unusual for someone of nobility to show such a reaction, but, you always did. For Aerion you did.
Your husband parading around on his steed, looking especially handsome. Your heart warmed at the sight of him. He opened his helmet and looked at you, you smiled and blew him a kiss causing him to darken his eyes slightly, smirk and then close his helmet once more. That was the bit of confidence that he needed.
He began to taunt his cousin, something that did not surprise you. Something that Aerion loved more than you, was his pride. He would always wish to uphold his precious pride. His competition also readied himself, causing you to lean forward in anticipation. The boos and other reactions of the people irritated you, if it were up to you, there would be complete silence. But unfortunately, it wasn't up to you.
Aerion carried his spear low, much too low, meaning that he could easily puncture the horse on the opposing side. He did this with ease, and the crowd did not seem to enjoy it much. They liked what happened to the man on the horse even less.
Yet, Aerion opened his helmet nonetheless, a pleasing look on his face. Baelor shook his head from beside you, and you couldn't stop the mumbled "oh, gods" that escaped your lips.
The crowd began to throw things at your husband, the first thing thrown ricocheting off of his helmet, causing it to close. You watched as your husbands jaw tightened, and you prayed that he would not do anything stupid.
He watched, dumbfounded, as the crowd began to storm the list.
Upon your return to the castle, you heard raised voices in the hall.
"You were hated enough before and now you will be loathed." Your father in law boomed.
Aerion's eyes rolled, "I went there to win, and I won. I do not see the problem." He spoke as he held a cup behind his shoulder, a servant hurried to fill it with wine. Aerion swivelled the cup to his lips, downed the liquid and then returned it back to its previous position to ensure that more was poured.
"You played dirty." Baelor stated.
"I am not at blame if someone refuses to do what it takes to win." Aerion looked towards your direction, his eyes brightening when he saw you. "Y/N, do you think that I won fairly?"
No, my love.
"Of course my dearest. You won, that is all that is to be said."
You felt the judgemental stares of his father and uncle, but you did not care. They were not the ones who would have to deal with the consequences of if you dared disagree.
"See, the most intelligent woman in the world agrees with me."
Both men looked at each other with a concerned look, which you ignored. If your husband saw you as the most intelligent woman in the world, so be it. You were not going to argue that. You believed that to be a definite fact.
That night in particular felt very warm, and the castle walls seemed to make you feel warmer. The enclosed heat began to annoy you. At Summerhall, you could have simply taken a walk alone in the gardens, but here, there were no moments of silent peace unless you were in suffocating walls.
You and Aerion picked at your supper- roast game. Pleasing enough, yet neither of you were necessarily hungry.
"May we do something tonight?" You asked him, using your fork to play with a bit of carrot.
Aerion looked up at you, "do not play with your food." He warned, somewhat kindly. You rolled your eyes at him and placed your fork down.
He smiled, amused at your attitude but pleased that you had done what he had asked of you.
"What would you like to do, the world is yours my princess."
You pondered, "what is there to do?"
He shrugged, "it is apparently quite lively here, when the sun disappears. Perhaps we could wonder."
You were slightly apprehensive at the thought of 'wondering'. The joust earlier proved that your husband wasn't the most beloved, at this present time. Yet, you had guards to keep you both safe. And you highly doubted that anyone would actually have the gumption to harm either one of you.
"Alright then." You smiled.
Aerion, who sat beside you, kissed your temple. He refused to sit opposite you when eating, or anywhere for that matter. He said that your place was directly beside him, at all times, when possible. You did not defy that. You liked it.
When the skies darkened, you readied yourself, deciding not to ask for assistance from the handmaidens. You wore a deep red gown that moved like smoke across the floor, gold glinting softly at your wrists and throat. Your hair was pulled into an intricate dragon braid threaded with crimson ribbons and golden rings.
Aerion looked unfairly handsome, as always, in a deep red coat. His dark gloves and tall boots made him look strong and serious. You couldn't help but melt when looking at him. He carries himself so calmly, like he belongs anywhere he stands, and you could honestly stare at him forever.
This was something that he adored about you. Regardless of how stubborn you were, or what mood you were in, you always gave him the attention that he required and showed him in bundles of affection and love that never knew he needed until he laid his eyes on you.
You showered him in kisses, grabbing his face gently and examining him- as you did daily. He reacted as he always did, pretended not to care as much and blushed a crimson while you doused him in kisses.
"How I love you." You gushed.
"You embarrass me." He smiled, staring into your eyes.
You pressed your lips to his, lingering there for a while. "No I do not. Any man would consider themselves lucky to have a wife that loves them so."
"I am no man. I am a dragon. I am not lucky either," he placed both hands on either one of your hips, grabbing them, "you were placed on this earth for me." His teeth tugged your bottom lip, and then slowly released. "And only me."
The two of you set off beyond the castle with your guards closely behind you. Aerion held your waist as you walked. Usually, a husband and wife would touch at the arms in public and nothing more. But Aerion was not usual, he ensured that he held you close. He was possessive. You adored that about him.
"I heard talks of a dragon show, my prince." One of the guards advised.
Aerion let out an amused laugh, "a dragon show? Now that is intriguing. Shall we go and see?" Aerion loved doing that, asking a question and then answering it himself. He had already led you half way up the path where many people gathered.
The angle of the open flap on the meant that you could see into it seconds before Aerion. You looked in and saw the main actor holding a wooden sword, with a giant dragon, made out of resources that you were unsure of. You knew it wasn't a good idea.
"My love, perhaps we shall do something else." You suggested, your pitch slightly higher than usual. Aerion looked at you strangely, furrowing his brow slightly.
"No. This will suffice." And with that, the both of you entered the tent just as the main actor plunged the wooden sword into the dragons neck, in turn, causing red confetti to shoot out of it.
The tent, which was previously filled with laughter and joy, silenced when the two of us were seen.
"You dare mock our beloved dragons?" You asked loudly. The actress looked terrified, like a deer who is faced with an incoming arrow.
You felt slightly guilty, you knew she didn't mean harm. You especially knew that this show was not for the eyes of a Targaryen. Your guilt went away however when you thought about how she knew of the Targaryen's presence, and took the risk anyway.
The young girl shook her head, repeating the word "no."
"If not a mock then what?" You stepped closer, your husband silently stepping with you. "Answer me, girl." You commanded.
"I'm sorry!" She exclaimed. Aerion rolled his eyes at her tears.
"You wish to entertain? Let us entertain." He commented, to no one in particular. Then, he strode towards the girl and held her harshly, grabbing her hand as he did so.
He held his sword between her fingers and then snapped one. She shrieked so loudly that you bet it would have woken the whole of Dorne.
Suddenly, the same large man whom you had encountered the day prior stormed into the tent. Without a thought, he ran towards your husband, landed a hard blow to his face, then another and violently threw him to the floor.
Your husband.
A fire immediately ignited within your belly, and the flames erupted into lava when you saw your husband get kicked once more. You, yourself shot towards the commotion, slapping a guard that tried to refrain you from doing so.
You grabbed the girl by the back of the hair, and the tall man stopped.
You proceeded to break every one of her fingers, slowly. The tall man was now held back by a few guards, and part of you hoped he would harm you, just so you would be able to witness his torture.
Aerion was at least quick when he snapped her fingers. You ensured to be slower.
You pulled her hair tighter with each second, your blood boiling.
Aerion watched you, blood spilling over from within his mouth, but pleased all the same. The girl let out wretched screams, and the tall man watched in horror.
"You dare touch my husband. You stupid, stupid man." You commented, barely paying attention as you broke all ten fingers.
Aerion spat the red from his mouth, before tightening his jaw and shaking his head firmly, "why did you throw your life away for this whore? She's scarcely worth it. A traitor. The dragon ought never to lose." He stared at the tall man for a while.
"Nothing more to say?"
The tall man did not respond.
"You've loosened one of my teeth, so we will start by breaking out all of yours."
The guards struggled to get the giant like man down, but they managed anyway. You watched carefully as the men lowered him.
And then you heard a familiar voice.
"Don't hurt him!"
Egg?
"Egg where the fuck have you been?" You exclaimed. He was your husband's little brother, let you loved him like your own, and had been worried sick when he had gone missing.
Aerion let out a sigh, not sharing the same amount of love for his sibling.
Young Aegon commanded that both guards release the tall man, whom was looking extremely perplexed between all of you.
Despite your happiness to see him, the fire within you still burned and you demanded justice.
Back at the castle, the man- Duncan, uncomfortably rested on his knees before you, your husband and a few others.
Aerion wasn't very angry, he didn't seem to care too much. You, on the other hand, sat impatiently.
"My husband was attacked violently. What is to be done about that?" You asked in a demanding voice, looking directly at Baelor.
Baelor let out a deep breath, he hated dealing with the consequences of Aerion's actions and he especially hated having to answer to you instead. He knew the passion that you held.
One on one combat was suggested, which caused you and your husband to share a look. Your husband, although a great warrior and fighter, was no where near the size and strength of the oaf before you all. You had both seen how many guards were needed to tame him.
"No." You said.
"No?" Maekar asked, surprised.
"No." You affirmed. "Absolutely not."
Baelor let out a breathy laugh, "Princess, I"
"You may arrange it, if you so wish, but before you do my husband and I will be on the other side of the world in the free cities with different names."
You meant it.
You scrambled your brain for a solution, and you knew that none would be simple.
Your husband placed a hand on your thigh under the table, in an attempt to calm you down. It worked slightly.
"A trial of the seven." You said.
Duncan did not know what it meant, and neither did Maekar, it seemed. But your husband knew, as did Baelor. You knew it may be the only chance to win. The odds would serve more in your husbands favour.
Baelor explained the idea; what it meant, and the logistics. Yet, all you could hear and focus on was the loud cracking and crunching of nuts. You peered over to your husband and gave him an annoyed look. Discreetly you used a hand to signal him to stop. In private, he didn't mind you telling him what to do, he quite liked it. If anyone saw him follow your command in public however, he would be mortified.
He stopped anyway.
The trial of the seven was decided, and Baelor was about to release Duncan, as well as all of you.
"Duncan." You said. The man looked up at you and groaned slightly.
You stood up, and slowly walked in front of him.
"Please know that if you hurt my husband, I don't give a shit about properness, I will hunt you down and I will hurt you."
You didn't care that he was a foot taller than you, or that his body weight probably amounted to four of yourself. When it came to your devotion, you were fearless.
Aerion laughed from across the room, "Please believe her!" He exclaimed, getting up from his seated position himself.
"My wife loves me so." And with those words, Aerion grabbed your waist and thrust you towards him, crashing his lips onto yours with a passion that you knew was not just caused by love. A passion to prove to everyone that the love you shared was deeper than words.
