Chapter Text

°❀⋆.ೃ࿔*:・

Standing in front the hoop, i felt empty. Bare. The basketball in my hand didnt give off the warmth like before. When this feeling first started I thought it was just burn out, hell who wouldn't? After playing almost every single day with my.. Friends..I'm bond to be, but no. That wasn't it. It never was.

By week two the sight of a basketball made me feel sick. But I denied it, because if I stuck close to it they'd come back. They'd see I'm still trying.

Stupid. That's all I can say to my past self.

Hearing a voice from the open door of the gym I turned to see who it was snapping out of my thoughts.

"Tetsuya. Have you been here since practice ended? Go home. " Akashi-kuns voice made me visibly tense. I kept my Facebook monotone as possible but on the inside I couldn't hear to look at him

"Sorry.. I lost track if time.. " I avoided eye contact, because I didn't deserve to look him in the eye. Throwing down the basketball I picked up my bag while watching the ball roll to the other side.

".. It is fine, you shouldn't stay so late regardless. But make sure you practice your passing. It's gotten sloppy recently. We have a final game next week be sure your passing is perfect or else your benched. " Akashis tone cut through the silence like a knife.

"... Of course. " I walked past him, my head held low. Feeling His piercing eyes follow behind me

instead if heading towards the gate I walked straight to the faculty office knowing some teachers were still here. .

"Good evening. " Entering I tried to announce my presence As expected no one saw or heard me.

As I made my way to Mr. Oba-san, he was the one who handled clubs application forms along with resignation forms. The older man jumped seeing me appear next to him.

" Kuroko!? Christ..stop doing that.."He sighed before spinning his chair to look at me. " Whats up. " his voice took on a more casual tone.

"I'm resigning from the basketball club. " I flinched on the inside from my bluntness

It was silent for a while before he spoke "What? I must be hearing things..your quitting?"

" Yes. "

"... It's a... Personal reasons. I'm sorry Oba-san.. " I clenched my fists , my head down trying to keep my expression montone as usual.

Mr. Oba-san sighed before letting a soft look take over him "look kid. I dont think you should make decisions so rash..I'll swing by tomorrow and if you still want to quit well.."

So rash? Does he think I'm quitting because of something trivial? No. He doesn't understand that I've spent almost a month feeling like this! Wondering what's wrong with me, why I can't make a proper pass, why I don't feel motivated!!

He patted my head.

" Thank you sir. I'll be taking my leave. "I bowed before walking out and heading home, my palms felt achy from my nails digging into them.

Graduation is soon 2 days away to be matter and since I officially left the basketball team I've been avoiding, them.. Mostly because I dont think I'd be able to speak when the questions poured in..

Its been easy so far... Kinda.. Whenever kise-kun saw me I blended into the crowd , when Murasakibara was coming I ducked into his blind spot. When I saw Akashi after school waiting for his driver I crossed the street , when Midorima was In the canteen I just didn't eat.

The only person I couldn't avoid was.. Aomine. No mater hoe much I tried..

He could always see me and it seemed he was seeking me out. They all were in a way. And I guess today was my unlucky day.

"Tetsu." The taller male stompted towards me "Tetsu stop walking Jesus. " I didn't stop. I could hear my heart in my ears I walked faster.

I felt his hand grab my shoulder. It didn't give me the same butterflies like it once had. Instead the opposite my stomach churned. He turned me around to face him , where I met the his dark gaze..

"The hells been up with you lately. When Momoi said you quit I thought she was over exaggerating.. But you didn't show up to our game. We won perfectly fine but what the fuck man. "

They won perfectly fine,.. I wasn't even needed?...

"... I have to go home.." I tried to keep my voice steady it didn't work.

"Go home? Yea right. We both know you gran ain't gonna be home till 4. It's 2. Just because your..like.. I don't know what your going through but quitting right before a match is..just stupid." the way he carelessly said that made me want to puke my guts out. I wanted to scream. But what good would that get me.

"... Do you enjoy basketball? " the question left my mouth without me really thinking about it.

" The hell? Sure whatever. Also stop avoiding Momoi now she's bothering me. "

That conversation pledged my mind for the rest of my night... His words replaying in my head like a broken record. They were such simple words and that's what made it worse. Each one felt like a stab to the stomach.I don't know why.. I hate not knowing why..

I looked at my phone checking for any new messages. From anyone. Anyone at all. 3. All from momoi. She always cared about us , me and Aomine-kun most of all.. Seeing the messages I felt guilty.. She didn't deserve me avoiding her.. She'd been trying to pull us back together for so long and still is.. Momoi-kun has always been so kind I admired that.. I could at least respond...

𝙼𝚘𝚖𝚘𝚒-𝚔𝚞𝚗 :𝚃𝚎𝚜𝚝𝚞~!! 𝙰𝚛𝚎 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚘𝚔𝚊𝚢? 𝚈𝚘𝚞 𝚗𝚎𝚟𝚎𝚛 𝚖𝚒𝚜𝚜 𝚙𝚛𝚊𝚌𝚝𝚒𝚌𝚎. (𝟷)

𝙼𝚘𝚖𝚘𝚒-𝚔𝚞𝚗 :𝙿𝚕𝚎𝚊𝚜𝚎 𝚝𝚎𝚡𝚝 𝚖𝚎 𝚋𝚊𝚌𝚔.. 𝚆𝚑𝚢'𝚍 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚚𝚞𝚒𝚝? (𝟹)

Liar. Thats not what I wanted to say. I wanted to tell her everything so badly but my reasons for being like this were stupid. After all they were excelling and I was stuck. As their shadow never leaving the darkness.
