Chapter Text
.
September 1st, the start of a new school year. But it’s not just any ordinary school year for the young apprentice.
It’s Shuichi Saihara’s first year in college.
But the boy is rather apprehensive than exited, because all of the other students at his high school are going to completely different schools across the region.
You see, Shuichi isn’t exactly a normal student.
He got accepted into a prestigious college called Hopes Peak Academy because of his exceptional talent.
The talent of a detective! He once solved a very complex murder case before the even the police and the other detectives could figure it out.
But unlike his talent, Shuichi is a very shy and anxious person.
He doesn’t have a lot of confidence in himself and doesn’t like confronting people.
He’s very insecure about it and thinks he doesn’t deserve the titel of a ‘true detective’.
But there is one reason for why he wants to become a one.
His curiosity.
Shuichi’s the type of person who would become interested in something and would investigate until he finds out what he needs to know.
That’s why he accepted the invitation to the college, to study and become a detective and maybe befriend the other people who also have a passion and talent in a manner that’s special to them.
‘Okay, enough sulking and time to go.’
Shuichi thinks excited but nervously to himself.
He waves his uncle goodbye and steps onto the classy marble tiles that lead up to the enormous gates into the campus.
And wow! The college wasn’t just enormous, but it looked like it came straight out of a fairy tale.
There were cute little benches all around the center, stunning cherry blossom trees and a big fountain in the middle.
The shining sun reflected on the exquisite stoops to go from the focal point to the large buildings.
There were a bunch of people already chatting with each other, probably catching up from summer break.
Shuichi desperately wanted to just go sit on one of the hazel benches underneath the blossoming trees and relax with a cup of coffee, when he suddenly looked at the time.
“Its almost 8am already?!”The boy said under his breath.
He already regretted joining such early classes, but he knows he doesn’t sleep much anyway so whatever.
Heart pounding in his chest he anxiously searched for his class, but he just couldn’t find it with the enormous amount of classrooms in the colossal building.
After a quick walk around the campus, he decides to ask someone for help.
Maybe he can even try to socialise with the person, because oh boy, he is not good at that.
After looking a bit around the place where he’s standing, he sees a boy with dark wavy hair that looks like its was dyed purple at the ends.
Who seemed to be talking with another student who that looks frustrated for some reason.
Any normal person would sense some red flags and would leave to ask someone else, but not Shuichi.
That dude had way to much jitters to even look someone in the eye. So who cares if the person makes a snarky comment behind his back? He awkwardly walks into their direction. Anxiety already rising inside of him.
“Hey give that back!”
‘Nee hee-hee! Only if you get on your knees and lick my shoes.’
The mischievous looking boy had a backpack in his hand. Tho it didn’t look like it belonged to him.
“Uhm.. Exuse me, do you know where classroom D102 is?”
Shuichi shyly asked, his cap covering half his face.
‘Oh, ofcourse! Just go to the that big building over there, climb to the second floor and you should see the classroom opposite the big inspirational poster on the wall.
Trust me you can’t miss it!’
“Thank you very much, I really appreciate it.”
The blue haired boy said to the other grinning one, while entering the building behind him.
‘Okay, lets see.. the second floor opposite the poster- wait what?’
Shuichi was stunned when instead of the classroom he needed to be in, he saw a.. club?
He knew this was the only room that the other student could have interpreted, because it was the only wall with a gigantic poster to “love yourself no matter what”
“The occult club?!”
The poor freshman was shocked.
Not only did he get pranked by going to a whole different area but he only had about.. two and a half minutes to get to the right class.
Great. Just great.
Time to run as fast as he can without looking stupid.
