Everything hurt. Which was not a surprise due to the raft he’d just been standing on having blown up.
Him and Michael sat on the least destroyed parts of the raft.
Though the other man wasn’t much company with the silent treatment he was getting.
The only sound out of Michael was a quick complaint of disgust when he took the bullet.
But hey? What was he supposed to do?
It did hurt like hell though. Jack would for sure have a go with him about it when he got back.
…
After a petty argument that he was (totally) in the right. Broke his part of the raft he was forced to bunk with Micheal on his.
“Look I know-” he tried to.. Apologies? I don’t know just say something when he was cut off by Michael
“Don’t. Just don’t, you have no idea what it’s like to care for someone else.”
Well that cut deep. He thought to himself as he watched Michael turn his back on him. Giving him the silent treatment for the rest of the night.
That wasn’t fair though… there was at least one person he cared about.
Of course he’d never admit it to that person. And that was the first time he’d admitted it to himself.
…
After a quick near death experience he managed to swim and climb onto a much better part of the raft, with Michael quick to follow him now they’d made up.
…
It was a bit after dawn, the sun finally rising. Which let them see that they were headed towards the island. Yippe.
Good news: they found Jin.
Bad news: a bunch of island folk knocked ‘em out and threw them in a hole, which was apparently their kind of prison cell.
He did try to get out but they quickly found out that wasn’t going to happen anytime soon.
Another person did get chucked in there with them though.
Though it didn’t go too well. As after telling her his great plan he got hit in the face again this time with the butt of his gun that she stole from him before leaving.
Because apparently she was with those other guys all along.
He was getting really fed up with the other two. When finally the others opened that roof? Hatch? Anyway, they opened it and let them out.
Not without beating his ass some more and leaving him behind!
Apparently everyone had decided to pick on him. Which wasn’t much of a change but still pissed him off. The pain in his shoulder that was getting harder and harder to ignore might have played a part in his irritation though.
…
After some time he was finally rescued and out of the hole.
Apparently those guys were friendly now. Still didn’t stop him from getting punched in the face. And kicked when he was already on the ground. So they didn’t seem too friendly to him.
After that they got moving into the woods. He didn’t know where they were headed but at this point he was too in pain to question it.
He was silent most of the way there, apart from replying to one of the dudes.
Once they were at their base or something. Just a weird underground bunker of sorts. It wasn’t very impressive, he preferred his tent back at camp to this damp, dark place.
Though he might just be biased.
They had some quick introductions with the few people that came up to them. But they mostly just stuck to the three of them in one of the dirty corners for the rest of the cold night.
…
He woke up from his not so comfortable sleep to Michael telling him something.
And then to Ana lucia the chuck from the cage telling them to get moving.
they all got split up into pairs to prepare for the journey ahead.
Sawyer, of course was left alone. He was fine with that though as he wasn’t sure he’d be much help right now anyway.
It was going smoothly. He kinda befriended one of them. Then Michael decided to bolt into the jungle.
Jin wanted to look for Michael. The others were leaving.
Mr Eco decided to help out and go with Jin. which left Sawyer alone with a bunch of people who tolerated him or just hated him. At least the feeling was mutual.
…
He wasn’t too well as they carried on their way towards his camp.
He only collapsed once so far and that was more just to rest. He’d be fine. He was fine.
Sure he wouldn’t mind if a certain doctor were to check up on him…
Anyway, they continued on moving though he was feeling more and more lightheaded by the second.
As he did with all the other pains and concerning things happening to him he decided to ignore it and hope for the best as they made their way through the jungle.
His feet were numb, his vision was going fuzzy at the edges and all in all. NOT a good time.
They were resting for the night. Ana Lucia was trying to pick a fight with him, again. Michael tried to pick a fight with him. At least Jin was nice. And actually noticed his suffering.
He (differently) didn’t collapse to his knees sat one point. All he got was some words of encouragement
Before they were moving forward again.
The sun didn’t at all. Heat beating on his back. Sweat soaking his clothes and making everything more uncomfortable than it always was.
Of course he chose to suffer in silence, ignoring the nervous glances Michael and Jin were throwing his way.
…
The rocks were even more difficult to get through. He was also now at the back of the group. He did silently thank Mr Eco who made them stop for a break.
Michael and Ana Lucia were fighting again. He tried to pay attention but his hearing was muffled now. His eyes were getting harder and harder to keep open. His legs were going numb.
He knew sooner he was going to pass out. He was hoping to hold on until he was back at camp. Jack would be there. He would hopefully take care of him.
Well he would if he was passed out or not. But he was hoping to see Jack sooner rather than later.. For his injuries of course.. No other reason.
As he predicted he only lasted an upright because of Jin so as soon as he rejected help.. He fell to the ground.
And passed out pretty much immediately. If he did say something he was too out of it to remember anything.
