Someone who loves women

Summary:

A reflection by Joe (Josephine?) on his gender and sexuality.

Or where Josephine is a trans woman and a lesbian, but doesn't know how to name it.

Notes:

I watched the movie and the Broadway musical. I didn't write thinking about either one in particular, but the musical is much fresher in my mind.

Work Text:

Joe doesn't feel like Daphne. He remembers his friend talking about how she always forced herself to feel attracted to women and how much better she feels now, and he couldn't be further from that.

Because Joe is a heterosexual man. He has never even doubted it in his entire life.

He loves women. He loves their curves, their hair, their soft skin. He loves their delicacy, their soft voices, their beautiful clothes.

He loves loving women. He loves flirting with them, loves kissing them, loves caressing their bodies, adoring their entire bodies and undressing them. He loves laying their bodies on the bed, admiring them as the works of art they are.

Much better than the male body, all straight and graceless. Hairy, ugly, unattractive. He doesn't desire any man, thank you very much.

But sometimes he doesn't feel like a heterosexual man should feel.

Heterosexual men are supposed to be dominant. They are the ones who should take the initiative. They should be on top. Although sometimes Joe likes that, sometimes he also wants a woman to tell him what to do.

Sometimes he wishes Sugar would touch him the way he touches her. To sit on her lap and be pampered. For her to put him on the bed and caress him, to finger him until he comes. No heterosexual man should like that, right?

Heterosexual men shouldn't care that much about their own appearance. But Joe liked wearing dresses, necklaces, and makeup. He liked looking pretty like a girl.

He likes the feeling of having his legs shaved, of keeping his voice softer (which reminds him of how much he hated when his voice started to deepen during puberty), of taking care of his eyebrows and hair, of dressing well.

Heterosexual men love their own penis and only care about it during sex. But there are days when he hates having this flat, boring body. He doesn't want Sugar to see him naked or touch him, especially not his groin. This is usually easily resolved, since he has fingers and a mouth and knows how to use them very well.

A curious fact is that women always praised him for this. For using his whole body to give them pleasure. For caring for them with such fascination, for caring about their pleasure, for embracing and valuing them during the act. Because apparently Joe likes women more than heterosexual men.

He feels lost. He can't be a transvestite, like Daphne, since he's attracted to women, right? But he also doesn't exactly feel like a man. At least not a conventional man.

If he were a woman, he would still love women, for sure. He would like to be a woman who loves women.

Could he be a transvestite who loves women? He doesn't know.
