Chapter Text
The doorknob to Chuuyas apartment jangled as Dazai forced his way in. It was around 3 in the morning when he stumbled in, clutching his side.
He had gotten injured during a mission, and due to using up all his bandages and it being so late at night that stores weren’t open. He had decided on the second best option.
Raiding Chuuyas medical stuff. He knew the mutt always had his favorite bandages for when he’d crash there on occasion, despite Chuuya’s desperate attempts to make him leave.
He took off his shoes and quietly walked into the apartment, trying his best not to bump into anything. Thankfully the dog hadn’t move around much of the furniture over the past few months he’s known him.
He made his way to the bathroom and opened the door enough that it wouldn’t squeak on the hinges. He turned on the lights after shutting the door behind him. He began opening cabinets and grumbling with his luck at finding the bandages.
Suddenly the bathroom opened and Chuuya stood in front of it. Who obviously had just awoken from sleep, due to how he slightly rubbed his heterochromatic eyes. “What the hell are you doing in my apartment, at 3 in the fucking morning?” He asked with an annoyed expression.
Dazai stopped searching and immediately gave him a grin. There was his favorite sight to see. “Ah! Chuuya, my loyal mutt. I am in need of bandages and I just know you have some.” Chuuya stared at him before rubbing his face.
“First off, Im not your fucking dog for the 100th time. Secondly, dont you have some in your container?” He asked before seeing Dazai shake his head. “Sadly no, which is why I assume you might have some.”
Chuuya stayed quiet before turning around and walking to his bedroom. “Stay there, Mackerel.” He said in a tired tone as he went through one of his dresser drawers.
Dazai followed after him, despite being told to stay put. He watched Chuuya go through the dresser. It had his very few nights clothes in the dresser along with other things Dazai enjoyed.
Chuuya closed the dresser after finding the bandages successfully and frowning when he saw Dazai. “I told you to stay.”
Dazai let out an amused chuckle. “Had to make sure the dog wasn’t going to chew up any slippers.” He replied as he walked back into the bathroom with Chuuya.
“I think youre the dog, with how you follow me around.” Chuuya grumbled as he grabbed some disinfectant and a small hand-towel. Dazai realized Chuuya had pointed to the closed toilet lid, wanting him to sit on it.
“I can do it myself, I’m grateful that youre just so loyal you want to help out your master-“ Dazai began before Chuuya glared at him. “If you don’t shut up right now, I will make whatever is wrong, extremely worse.”
Dazai smirked before sitting where he was told. He lifted up his shirt, giving Chuuya better access to it. He couldn’t help but scoot over when he saw Chuuya pour disinfectant on the hand-towel.
“Will that hurt?” He asked, already knowing the answer. Chuuya just looked up at him with an annoyed expression before huffing. “Take a guess when I put it on your wound.” He said, going in to clean it before seeing how Dazai flinched away.
He sat on the floor before rolling his eyes. “It’s going on in, 3, 2, 1.” He counted down before pressed it on the wound. Dazai let out a tiny noise before looking at the wall. He sighed as he looked at the taller boy but didn’t go any gentler. Making sure to get it as clean as possible.
He took away the towel and began to bandage him up. He noticed how Dazai relaxed just a tiny bit. He made sure the bandages were comfortably tight on the wound. He then looked at the bandages on the rest of his body. They were a little dirty looking, as he began undoing them.
“Ah ah, I didn’t give you permission to undress me, and before taking me out to dinner!” Dazai teased before Chuuya huffed and continued. “We both know you don’t like dirty bandages.” He responded as he got one arm done then began working on the next.
Dazai hummed quietly as Chuuya worked before admiring the completed job afterwards. He immediately ruffled Chuuyas hair with a grin. “Good boy!” He laughed, as Chuuya forced the hand away.
“You’re lucky I’m too tired and hungover right now to care.” He stood up and grabbed a spare blanket from his closet. Dazai followed confusedly before letting out an amused hum. “Awww are you sleeping on the couch and giving me the bed? So sweet!” Before the blanket and sleep clothes were thrown his way. “No, you are. Now sleep and leave me alone.” He grumbled as he shut the bedroom door in his face.
Dazai smiled as he stared down at the blanket in his hand. He remembered going to the store after a mission with Chuuya and mentioning how he liked soft blankets like this. He rubbed it against his cheek, inhaling how it smelt like Chuuya.
He stood outside the door for a while, contemplating if he should enter or just leave him alone. He got dressed in the bathroom before entering Chuuyas room. He immediately heard the red head grumble. “Go.” He rolled over in the bed before Dazai walked over.
“You never gave me a pillow.” He said, somewhat disappointed Chuuya couldn’t see the grin he had on his face due to the dark room. “What?” Chuuya asked before rubbing his face and scooting over in the bed. “Im too tired to deal with you. Just sleep with me.”
Dazai gasped and climbed into the bed and before he could do anything else, Chuuya placed a pillow in between them. “Do not cross the pillow.” He said with a firm tone. Dazai blinked before chuckling. “Sure thing.” He laid down with the blanket he had been given prior, simply because Chuuya was a blanket hog.
It was quiet except for the little wheezes Chuuya gave out when sleeping. He closed his eyes before feeling a small body coming over to him, snuggling into his chest. He immediately opened his eyes and stared down at Chuuya. He simply just placed his hand on top of the red messy curls and combed through them with his fingers while drifting off.
