Work Text:
It's been a week since Mark confessed that he's in love with Chenle during Doyoung and Yuta's wedding ceremony after Jaemin kindly rejected him, mainly due to Mark, and Chenle is still riding that wave. Donghyuck is being the greatest friend about it, expressing genuine happiness for them and letting Chenle say all the things no one else in their friend group would dare allow. He feels on top of the world.
Mark chuckles as Chenle lands ungracefully in his lap and he leans down to peck his lips. Their next kiss is nowhere near as innocent, Chenle cradling Mark's face as their lips move against each other in a well-rehearsed dance. He still behaves like he's getting to know his boyfriend's lips because being in love means he can't ever have enough of Mark. Thankfully, Mark has realized he is just as obsessed with him and it's enough to set yet another wave of giddiness through Chenle. He's honestly, a little shocked he's willing to invite someone into this space, especially now that he doesn't have to tolerate the possibility of Mark dating other people.
The two have been dating for years, meaning that Chenle has been sharing Mark for years and liking Jaemin feels like his heart finally caught up with their previous situation. Chenle never really cared about other people, it's always been Mark for him so he's not sure exactly why Jaemin made him suddenly want to take advantage of his open relationship but apparently weddings are the perfect place for revelations. Donghyuck and Jisung could back him up on that.
"I love you", Chenle says, grinning up at Mark.
Mark smiles back and leans down to kiss him again but he pulls away quickly. "I love you too."
Jaemin is a little scared that his friends are completely out of their minds. He doesn't want to believe that they'd mess with him but Mark professing his love for Chenle after two getting rejected by him a day apartment feels like a sick joke. Mark's polyamorous nature had been his main reason for turning down Chenle so he understands that love isn't limited to a single person but Chenle is different. He's Mark's long-term live-in boyfriend and he wouldn't be surprised if the two got married one day. Jaemin has no idea what he's supposed to do with the two of them. He's not sure he wants to find out. He'd once gone on a date with a couple and he'd ended it shortly because it felt like a sneak peek of the inattentiveness he'd receive constantly under the label of their partner. Jaemin knows not everyone is gonna be like that and he has a bit more faith in his friends but the idea of sharing the spotlight still scares him. Neither of his friends can guarantee he'll end up mattering as much as they do to each other.
Whether it's curiosity or something more, he hears them out anyway. Mark said he'd treat them to a lunch at a diner that's about equal distance from both of their apartments. Jaemin loves this place, feeling happy from just the smell of the always warm, perfectly salted french fries. He finds Mark and Chenle squished together in a booth which feels like the first sign that he might feel left out. Maybe, it's dramatic to make this call so soon but the two are undeniably happy together and Jaemin has no idea what he'd contribute. Mark tells him to get whatever he wants as they start looking over the menus. Jaemin takes the offer seriously and orders an Oreo milkshake as his drink when the server asks. He can hear his mom scolding him for jumping to dessert but Jaemin is an adult so he can eat food in whatever order he wants. His friends seem taken aback by his decision as they watch him happily sip on the smooth, creamy beverage. Jaemin ignores them as he scans the menu for the entree that pops out to him. Normally, he has the house double cheeseburger but he's not sure he's feeling it today. Feeling indecisive, he scoots closer to where Mark is and leans into him to ask what he's getting. Mark tells him what he's debating between then Chenle gives him his own answer which does sound good but it's not what Jaemin wants.
He manages to make a decision by the time the server is looking at him with their notepad and pen in hand. As soon as they're out of earshot, Mark and Chenle are zeroed in on him. Jaemin has been stared at by them before, blatantly ogled, flirted with, and propositioned yet they still manage to make him nervous. A talent, truly. Chenle is the one to start the conversation, circling back to what Jaemin had told him during the wedding and explaining how most of that is gone with Mark's willingness to be in an exclusive relationship. Mark then recounts his process of discovery about his feelings for Chenle, including the part where he spent his entire time with Jeno taking about Chenle. Jaemin isn't sure how it was meant to make him feel, however he's pretty sure he's feeling the opposite of what his friend intended. He doesn't need more proof that Chenle is number one and it would make sense if they eventually break up with him to prioritize their own bond without an interruption.
Chenle notices that and lightly slaps a hand against Mark's chest, clearing his throat. "You know my experience so you know I understand your concerns but I promise you we can make it work. Mark is good at balancing between people and good at communicating. I'm the one that sucked at that."
Mark's expression is so damn fond. "You were scared", he says quietly, pressing a kiss to Chenle's jaw.
Jaemin feels like a third wheel and they've barely put in their orders. Their whole relationship would be ridiculous. It'd be so toxic because of Jaemin and he's positive everyone who gets a hold of the situation would question what the three of them are doing together. He can't compete with whatever is and has been brewing between them and he can't trust that he'll make his own. Jaemin almost admits it now, that dating sounds like a recipe for heartbreak. His heartbreak. Instead, he awkwardly smiles off their affection and sips on his yummy milkshake until he spots the server walking towards them with familiar dishes. It's a dick-ish move to reject someone and then expect them to pay for your food so Jaemin speaks up before they're done eating.
"This seems like a bad idea." Chenle and Mark look at him like the thought never occurred to them. Jaemin wants to laugh because it's so unbelievable. Of course, neither of them have to worry. They have each other and they appear to be doing just fine on their own. "Why do you even want to be with me?" Jaemin asks, already mentally exhausted. It feels like another warning, his mind preparing him for what he might go through if he entertains this.
Mark asks if they can finish this conversation in private. Jaemin can't even name what he feels when he agrees but it's nothing hopeful. He's thankful they arrived separately so he doesn't have to watch the two from the backseat of their car and pretend the tension isn't suffocating. His own car isn't much better, his thoughts loud enough to drown out the radio.
No one talks right away when they enter the apartment. Jaemin slowly makes himself comfortable and then talks his place at the table, looking at everything but his friends. Chenle brings him a glass of water with a small smile and takes the seat across from him. Mark sits adjacent to Chenle so they're all facing each other. It's slightly better than seeing the couple pressed against each other although they could easily make that happen. This time, Mark is the first to speak up. Jaemin is honestly a little shocked to hear that it's not just lust. His friends' interest in him had stemmed out of nowhere and the chaos of the wedding, seeing people he hasn't in a while, and Donghyuck's drama with Jisung made him forget that this thing between them has been bubbling on the surface for weeks. Guilt hits him and he's thankful mind-reading isn't a real thing. Chenle picks up right after Mark, keeping his eyes locked on Jaemin's like he's afraid of losing him. It doesn't make sense that their finding places for him to fit in something that's already so good but it's clear that they're not giving up on the idea of them.
"Okay", Jaemin says. "But we need to discuss everything and I think I should explain what I'm worried about." Jaemin tells them about the couple he went on a date on and how that experience made him decide that he wants attention on him at all times, that the timing of two asking him out was a little too perfect for him to not question it, and seeing the two together paints an already completed picture in his mind. At once, the two get up to surround him in a hug. Chenle kisses the top of his head and explains how the relationship would work. Jaemin would have to share but it's not going to be so extreme, that he'd be allowed everything Chenle is and at the same time. Mark apologizes for the timing and for making it seem like he didn't have actual feelings for him.
"Can we start with a date?" Chenle asks softly. "See if you hate it."
Jisung audibly groans in the background while Jaemin is on a video call with Donghyuck. Jaemin chuckles and reminds him that things will be worse once Renjun and Jeno join the call. He's happy that they've all managed to find time, even if it's stemming from being in Jaemin's business. Jisung comes into the frame and blows him a kiss. Jaemin catches it and watches his friend whip around to see what he'd missed. He smiles as he watches the two together, genuinely happy that they're figuring their shit out. They're still not dating yet but Donghyuck seems a lot less scared about it now.
Renjun and Jeno bring his attention away from them as he lets the two into the call. Renjun immediately starts talking, commenting on the text Jaemin had sent them about the situation while also saying that he misses everyone and that he wishes he lived close enough for people to walk into his apartment unannounced. Jeno volunteers which is bittersweet because he lives the farthest out. Donghyuck says that he's gonna demand a group meet up soon and volunteers Jisung as the driver, stating that's what good boyfriends do. Jisung playfully rolls his eyes but he gives everyone a thumbs up, confirming that he will go around town collecting them all.
"We need all the details. Like start from the very beginning."
Jaemin tells them about he wasn't sure Mark was serious at first and too suspicious to take anything too heavy because he could tell there was something with Chenle even if he'd appeared more into Jisung on the surface. The comment causes his friend to blush and whisper something to Donghyuck who'd turned to look at him. He then explains that he found out about the relationship not too long before Yuta and Doyoung's wedding and during that conversation, Chenle had given him his blessing with Mark if he'd wanted. Jaemin then admits that he is attracted to both of them and that if he didn't have so much to be scared of, he'd be jumping for joy at the fact that two amazing people want him and supposedly, only him.
"Ji, you're Chenle's best friend, do your thing", Renjun says.
"It's really hard for me to do that." He points to Donghyuck. "He can tell him though. Chenle tried telling me about Jaemin because I did ask and since Mark is involved, it led to him getting distracted and there was just too much information. About both of them."
Jeno rolls his eyes. "They were so blind."
Mark is anxious as he walks beside Chenle to where Jaemin is waiting for them. They'd agreed on something low stakes for Jaemin's comfort, though he and Chenle privately agreed to make the date as romantic as possible. Neither of them want to scare Jaemin away and they know he'll notice if they're toning things down for his sake but they want him to experience the two of them the way he would if they were dating. That's what he'd have to get used to if he decides to see this out with them.
Jaemin's eyes zero in on his hands when he and Chenle approach. He tries to keep his face blank but it just makes Mark feel like they're already losing him. He wants to say something, though he doesn't know what would be a good idea to say at this point. Chenle figures out what to do quicker and wrangles Jaemin between them, ignoring their friend's protests. Chenle locks eyes with Mark behind Jaemin's head, prompting him to explain that a relationship between the three of them means the three of them, not someone on the outside just watching.
"We have room for you", Chenle says with finality. "We took our time to make sure we wanted to open ourselves up to someone else and we agreed to do this for you because of our mutual interest."
"This is scary."
Mark nudges Jaemin lightly and offers him a smile when he looks over. "Let us help make it less scary."
"I'm scared I won't know how to share the two of you. I don't want to ruin this with my jealousy and I'm already-" he stops short and shakes his head.
"It's okay if you need time to feel like ours", Chenle says. "We want to feel like yours too and we understand that this isn't as simple as a monogamous relationship."
Jaemin takes a breath like he's mentally preparing himself for all of this. Mark hopes that it means what he thinks it does but he knows better than to assume because Jaemin doesn't seem anymore sure of this than he did when they first spoke in his and Chenle's apartment two weeks ago. He feels at fault for his friend's doubts. Jaemin mentioned Chenle's feelings too so he knows it's not just him but he was the reason Jaemin rejected Chenle in the first place and he did a terrible job at making his live-in boyfriend feel secure. Chenle admitted his faults in the situation, however Mark still feels at least a little responsible for making Chenle feel like he couldn't tell him how he was honestly feeling without it leading to something bad. He's extremely grateful that they managed to sort things out and Chenle seems happier than he's ever been but it only adds to his guilt.
"Honey?"
He snaps out of it and finds Jaemin and Chenle looking at him, none of them moving anymore. "Huh?"
"You looked upset."
Mark looks back down at the sidewalk, not wanting to getting into it all right here. He knows he should say something, hell he'd begged for the kind of communication he wants to avoid right now. He gives them what he knows is an unconvincing smile and hopes that neither of them will push until they're somewhere private. Jaemin looks away but Chenle keeps his eyes on him like he's debating whether or not it's worth making him talk on this sidewalk. Then, he glances at Jaemin and decides that buttering him up is more important. Mark can't help but smile as he watches his boyfriend cutely tell their date that he's gonna get a pet name too.
"Am I getting the same one from both of you?"
"Do you want the same one from both of us?"
"I'll get back to you", Jaemin says looking down to try to hide the redness on his cheeks. He forgets about his ear which makes his blush even more obvious. He's absolutely adorable.
Everything feels easier once they're deeper into their date. They're now looking in a hole-in-the-wall thrift store a few blocks away from the busiest part of down, all with milk teas Chenle forcefully bought for them. Mark thought he'd be exempt from his boyfriend's well-intended pushiness but his partner looked at him like he was ridiculous when he said he didn't know he was being included too. Now that he has had time to think, he's pretty he knows what Chenle is gonna tell him later on and it brings a smile to his face. It's true that they're both trying to romance Jaemin and less worried about each other but that isn't an excuse to stop putting in effort and doing the little things. Mark's way comes out more through affection than anything else.
Which is why he wraps his arms around Jaemin while he's holding up a jacket in one of the full-length mirrors near the dressing rooms. Jaemin lets out a little surprised gasp and looks down, once again trying to hide the color on his face. Chenle finds them with a stack of clothes in his arms and quickly smirks at the sight. Jaemin squirms in an attempt to get out of Mark's hold but he's not putting all his weight into it so Mark is able to keep in place. He slumps in defeat and he's so damn cute. Chenle smiles at Mark like he's thinking the same thing-he probably is-and goes in to kiss his cheek. Mark does the same then asks about what Chenle has before their date explodes. They're all lucky that there's less than ten people in the entire store and only one of them is close enough to see the three of them.
Chenle holds out a set of hangers towards both of them, explaining that he picked out outfits he wants them to try on. He gives Jaemin the sweetest smile while telling him that he's not obligated to buy any of it. Mark already knows what's coming before his boyfriend tries, tries to give him a menacing look. He's too in love to find him anything but cute, gorgeous, and an angel. Chenle rolls his eyes at him as he lightly shoves his chest then directs him into the changing rooms. Mark purposefully links his arms with Jaemin's and smirks at his partner. To his relief, Jaemin looks more amused than anything else. They still have so much to work on and he's not sure they'll ever actually get to their goal yet he feels hopeful that maybe the three of them can make a relationship work.
Chenle tries not to feel too excited at the fact that Jaemin agreed to another date with him and Mark as well as individual dates. He understands the importance of them working as a trio, however he thinks solo dates are the best approach for someone feeling doubtful about him and Mark. Jaemin wants to feel wanted by them and secure that his feelings won't go tumbling into a void.
"You look pretty", Mark says, standing in the bathroom doorway.
Chenle grins over at him. "Thanks. Come kiss me for good luck."
Mark chuckles but he obliges and it makes Chenle feel as giddy as it did the first time he'd said it. Mark has never said no to a kiss so this is far from special at this point yet it still means a lot to him. There's also a good chance it's because everything they do now has the "I love you" glamour over it. It's been weeks since that confession now and he still feels drunk on their mutual love for each other. Chenle giggles as he lets himself fall into his boyfriend's arms, confusing him.
"Will you be okay on your date?"
"I'll be okay on our date and I'll be okay in general because you love me."
Mark's expression immediately softens. "I do. I love you so much, Le."
"That needs to stop being hot, I can't function like this."
"According to Jisung, you've told everyone this complaint."
"I have", Chenle whines into Mark's chest. "None of you get it. I've become a romance slut." Mark bursts out laughing, unaware of how serious Chenle is. He wrestles out of his partner's arms and goes back to fixing his hair since he'd lost a few minutes by letting himself get distracted. Technically, he is ready with the exception of his shoes that don't take more than a minute to put on, however he can't help checking over his appearance. He wants to look good for his date and he's basking in feeling good. Before Jaemin, he'd always felt put off his minimal attempts to see someone else. Now, there's no part of him that's not wishing for something to go wrong just so he can go back to focusing on Mark or doing it as some sort of passive aggressive thing to get Mark's attention. The worst parts of him have finally retreated, letting him actually enjoy his ability to love people.
"Should I expect you home tonight?"
"No, if I'm lucky. I'm hoping Jaemin will invite me back to his place so I can just not leave."
Mark turns his head gently to guide him into a kiss, more passionate than before. It's still more innocent than the kisses that appear in Chenle's head whenever he feels particularly attracted to Mark and more recently Jaemin. When they pull away, Mark looks debauched with his hooded eyes, slightly puffy lips, flushed face, and the clear rise and fall of his chest. Donghyuck will be hearing about this moment in detail tomorrow.
Chenle gives Mark one last kiss that he's quick to cut off. Mark pouts at him and he coos, cupping his cheek. He knows it's a little evil though Chenle finds it hard not to take advantage of all Mark's feelings towards him and tells him exactly what they'll be doing when he gets back home. Mark's expression makes him giggle and he takes that as his cue to finally leave the apartment. He gets to the comedy club right on time and catches Jaemin in the parking lot. He seems nervous but also excited. One of his favorite comedians is doing a set and they'd managed to get tickets near the front. Not the very front but close enough that they might be noticed, which Chenle is honestly hoping for. He'd love to come again with Mark too in hopes a comedian will try to figure out what they have going on and Chenle can give the vaguest answers possible while his guys sit there all cute and shy as the only hint to what their relationship is. Part of him also wants to tell a flat out lie for the shock factor of it all.
After they show, they get ice cream that Jaemin pays for because he won their argument. The ice cream shop had been close enough to walk so the two have to walk back to where their cars are. Jaemin casually invites Chenle to his apartment like he'd hoped he would. Chenle lights up and happily agrees. In his car, he sends a quick text to Mark to share his excitement. Mark asks if he'd brought any clothes with him and Chenle responds with a "no<3" that earns him an eyeroll and heart emoji. Technically, Chenle does have clothes with him as he keeps an emergency outfit in his trunk but he has no intentions of wearing his own clothes. His pajamas often consist of a t-shirt and boxers so he cares even less about that than what he'll be wearing tomorrow. He really hopes Jaemin will let him take a hoodie that he'll never have to give back.
Being with only Jaemin makes Mark both more nervous and relaxed at the same time. His thoughts feel easier to articulate now that he only has one person to focus on but he's also aware of every reason why he should be worried about dating Jaemin.
They're having the least competitive game night Mark has ever experienced while sipping wine with a Disney movie playing in the background and a roast in the oven. At some point, they'll have to stop to put the sides together but Jaemin put Mark to work prepping things as soon as he'd walked in to make it easier for them in the future. Monopoly is their current game and Mark is winning by a landslide. Jaemin spent his starter money immediately so he's relying on the fines to keep himself afloat and it's kinda working. Neither of them are realy trying to keep up with the game at this point, both staring at the board and a little bit at each other more than anything else.
"You look like you want to say something."
"I kinda do", Mark mumbles. "I'm scared too. I'm so scared of hurting you and the fact that I already hurt Chenle is messing me up. It kinda feels like it'd be easier if I wasn't in the picture for you and I know you didn't want to do that but it makes sense."
Jaemin makes a sound of protest, slipping off the couch to sit right in front of Mark. He slowly reaches out like he's worried Mark will pull away. He leans in instead and allows Jaemin to tilt his head up so their eyes meet. "It wouldn't be easier for me", he tells him softly. He looks down at the carpet to gather his thoughts then back up. "You're so wonderful it's hard to not want to be special to you and I mean having all of your attention. Like I said before, I want a lot of it. More than would be fair if you were seeing multiple people and it still doesn't make sense to me that you and Chenle want to add to what you've built together but it's nice you want me to be apart of it. My concerns are more about me ruining things than anything else because I know I'm gonna ask for a lot if you let me get that comfortable. And Chenle knows you weren't trying to hurt him, we've talked about it. he said that he let himself get hurt because he'd rather be one of the people with permission to love you openly than not do it at all. You're not to blame for all that."
"I'm to blame for some of it."
"Fine, you're to blame for not telling Chenle that an open relationship became negotiable. It wasn't at first and before I fully understood you, I was shocked that you'd even make this decision. Then Chenle mentioned how you guys did things before, how his comfort has always been the most important thing to you, how supportive you've been with him and other people, how you've always made it clear that he's your priority. You're not the bad partner you think you are. You're just interested in some very possessive people."
Mark chuckles, feeling lighter now. He wishes Chenle were here just so they could enjoy the peace together. He reminds himself that their date will be as a trio, easing him even more as he settles against Jaemin's shoulder. The action is so gentle he thinks he might've imagined the press of lips to his forehead but when he opens his eyes, Jaemin's shy smile gives it away. Pride and affection fill him up, causing him to pull the man into his arms, illiciting what's becoming another one of his favorite sounds, Jaemin's laughter.
Jaemin isn't sure Chenle and Mark have fully left the building when Donghyuck turns him with bright eyes. "You're falling for them."
"And they're falling for you", Jeno adds, taking a sip of a drink Jaemin is pretty sure isn't his.
His face heats up from both the comment and the attention of all his friends. Renjun looks equally as excited as Donghyuck while Jisung's smile is on the subtle side. Jeno isn't even looking at him anymore but Jaemin knows he's not safe from his friend stepping in when he feels like it. Donghyuck reaches out to place a gentle hand on is arm, his expression a little warmer because he gets it. Renjun offers his hand across the table.
"I feel better", Jaemin admits. "But I'm still not sure I'm ready to not let the worst take over."
"They'll wait", Jisung tells him softly. "I asked Chenle about you and Mark because all three of you matter in this and he got the same look he does when he talks about Mark. He feels safe with you two so even though he wasn't worried, he has even more trust in you three now. He said he likes watching you and Mark interact because it's a thing of people who make him happy also making each other happy."
"He said that?"
"Yeah. He's in love with you. Take your time but don't let any hesitation be because you think their feelings aren't there. Also, and I'm not supposed to say this but you're the only person Mark's been interested in that Chenle didn't really care about."
"They're coming back", Jeno says looking somewhere past Jaemin. "Jun and I have something on Mark too."
At the table, Chenle ambushes Jisung in a backhug that sort of looks like he's strangling him. Mark chuckles and caresses Jaemin's hair as he takes his seat. Donghyuck gives Jaemin a look and blatantly stares as Chenle purposefully walks on Jaemin's side of the table in order to press a kiss to his cheek.
Renjun
Jeno what do you have on Mark?
Jeno
Oh he just casually mentioned that he'd do everything all over again to end up with Jaemin and Chenle. Obviously less than fortunate things happen but he thinks you all going through that, building up the trust, the love confessions, the dates, makes everything even more special
And I know Jaemin technically hasn't had a love confession with either of them but it's all in their eyes and actions
I think that if Jaemin could turn his brain off they'd all be a little closer to official and that's not me pressuring you to do anything, Jaemin. I'm just saying that you seem pretty close to where you want to be
Donghyuckie
You're gonna make my baby cry
Jisung
Respectfully, I want a new nickname
Jaemin
Clearly you haven't seen what you're saved as in his phone
And I am emotional, thank you so much Jeno
Jeno
I love youuuu
And the rest of you
Jisung
You're so mean to your fans
Renjun
Didn't you cry when Jeno moved away?
"Is this good or bad news?" Chenle blurts. "Sorry but I'm nervous."
Jaemin's smile reflects how he's feeling but there's a softness on his face that makes the two feel like maybe everything will be okay. Better than okay. Mark nods for him to talk, taking one of his boyfriend's hands in his. Before Jaemin can even think about it, his own hand is being enveloped in warmth then so is his either. Chenle and Mark both have anxious smiles on their faces and knowing how hopeful they are makes him melt inside. He's not in a perfect place and he is still scared of the bad days he knows they'll encounter but the two men in front of him are worth facing the hard parts.
He wants to be happy with them and soak up more of their love and let himself fall because he trusts that they'll catch him. Jaemin tries to keep himself calm as he nods, though his heartbeat sounds loud enough for it to be heard outside of his body. "I'm closer to where I want to be emotionally", he starts, looking between the two for their reactions. Chenle's smile feels a little sincere and Mark's expression is a little more forced. He didn't say that for the sake of gauging how much they still want him but it's reassuring nonetheless. "Truthfully, I think you deserve a version of me more secure than what I am right now but I've never been patient so I don't even want to keep waiting for that. I won't lie and say I'm not scared, I just like you two a little more than I am scared. That being said-" He grins at the way Chenle looks ten times happier now while Mark is failing to hide his adorable smile. "I'd love if you gave me the honor of officially being your boyfriend?"
"Yesyesyes!" Chenle squeals, throwing himself at him. Mark is quick to join and quietly says that happiness is mutual. Jaemin really fucking wants to kiss him. He's pulled out of his thoughts by Chenle lightly shaking him. "You were supposed to let us ask!"
Jaemin snorts, finding him so goddamn cute. "You still can."
"You do that, I'd like to jump to the part where we kiss."
He should've known that the two would argue over who gets to kiss him first. Jaemin loves that he feels so confident in their feelings now and pulls both of them in, cutting off their argument. At once, they seem to get it and meet him in the middle. Mark is the first to start laughing and then all three of them are. Jaemin feels so light and in love. He pulls Mark in to give him three soft pecks then does the same to Chenle. He opens his mouth to say something but Mark cuts him off with his own kiss. Jaemin had been worried that he'd feel some lingering jealousy at the sight of them and there is a part of him dying for more attention, however he's also really happy.
Jeno wastes no time in asking which couple got everything figured out first after they're all comfortably piled onto his bed. Chenle gasps at Donghyuck and Jisung's matching blushes and points an accusatory finger at them. "When did you get together?"
"Last week."
"What day?"
"Thursday."
"Ha! We got together on Wednesday."
The group bursts out laughing.
"I know it's not the same day but this does feel like more proof Jisung and Chenle are soulmates", Renjun comments.
"Hyuck can have him."
Jisung's mouth drops open. "What the fuck?" As if realizing what he said, he quickly presses a kiss to his boyfriend's cheek. "I love you."
Donghyuck gives him a sassy "mhm", followed by a shrug a few seconds later. "It's okay, they were all mine first anyway."
Chenle raising his hand sends them into another fit of laughter. Donghyuck brings him into a tight hug that only stops when everyone starts laughing even louder and he realizes how Mark and Jaemin are staring at them. Renjun playfully rolls his eyes as he gestures for them to go to their boyfriend. Jeno also moves out of the way, not noticing his other friends silently plotting to tackle him. The group rearranges themselves so Chenle is now between Mark and Jaemin though Mark jokingly tells Jisung that he's happy to switch places with him which earns him an eyeroll.
"I'm really happy for all of us", Jeno says, making everyone look at him in surprise. "We're all in good places and we get to miss each other a little less."
With his two boyfriends by his side, in a room full of the people he loves the most, Jaemin couldn't agree about being in a good place. His happy place.
