Chapter Text
Hello everyone! :3
I was hesitant to post this at first, but when I first decided to post my own writings, I was desperate for a guide to help me figure out what to do step by step. I literally didn’t know where to begin and I was so upset.
I was literally writing on WhatsApp and my notes app -I still have some of The Halo's Shadow’s chapters on my notes app, that's how recent this was- because I didn't even know about Google docs.
If I can help make that easier for others, I won't hesitate for a second to do so because I was literally alone and I learned mostly everything on my own and I don't want anyone to go through this hell. This guide is for anyone looking to get started, whether you’re writing normal fics or smut and believe me when I say this, it's so fuckin easy.

🔥WHERE SHOULD YOU START🔥
🔵1. Google docs
I know this might be silly, but I wanted someone to tell me about it. I didn't use it in school or college so I knew nothing about it. It's really useful to use because the word count limit is huge and it has spellcheck which is so helpful if your first language isn't English.
🔵2. Onelook thesaurus
I just discovered this like a week ago or something. Before I discovered it, it was literally painful because it took too long to search for a synonym for each word but trust me, this will help!!
🔵3. Reading
This is so important!! The more you read, the better. See how other writers write, see how they imagine certain scenarios, look at how they use words, how they use dialogues, where they put this and that, look at your favorite fic and see how it's organized and finally, see how they use creativity to play with words.
🔵4. The different styles
You know how authors do the cool ass stuff like emails and texts and dividers and all of this stuff?!!! I know nothing about that :3 and it's 100% ok!!! I literally don't know how to do italics and it's ok!
🔵5 Imagination
That's what all of this is built on. You need to imagine every single small detail, how they got out of bed, how they walk, how they speak, how they laugh, how they look at someone they hate, someone they love, someone they're uncomfortable to be around, when do they eat, when do they shower, when do they cry, how they cry. You’re building a whole character, it's a human living in your head so give them character.
🔵6. Tagging
You wanna be good at tagging? Write what you do in a different note as you write. For example: The fic starts with Sam crying “Angst" then he met Ari and they hugged “fluff" they kissed “kissing" then they fucked “smut" they started it with making out “making out" there's foreplay “oral sex - blow jobs - cunnilingus - teasing - dirty talk - praise - degradation - orgasm edging - multiple orgasms - sexual overstimulation" then comes the penetration part “rough, gentle, vaginal, public, drunk, shower, couch sex - multiple sex positions - marking - biting - unprotected/protected sex” then they cuddled " aftercare”
Another cool thing you can do -which is actually what I do, but you pick what's easier for you- is writing this before you start anything WHICH TAKES US TO THE FIRST THING YOU SHOULD DO!!!
