Work Header

stomping ground

Summary:

He kicked his alarmed inner senses into the darkest corner of his mind, focusing on Dex looking after him. And he did, ever since Matt woke up he was all over him. Bringing snacks he could eat, drinks he could sip without throwing up. Somehow the events of yesterday started to feel like a distant bad dream. Matt felt like he should be listening to himself, but what good does ever come from that, seriously? He felt like if he were to give his paranoia the green light, this starting relationship would be ruined. Who knows, maybe Dex and him could be…serious?

Chapter 1: strangers

Chapter Text

When Matt walks into a bar, he expects nothing. Well, maybe not exactly nothing. Nothing is such a strong word, is it not? Presumed absence, completely devoid of anything or, in this case, anyone. Which is simply not true, right?

Matt is picky with his clothes, especially when he can’t judge which color suits him the most. He just loves the velvety texture of a crop top and loose jeans with a chain instead of a belt. It fits, it doesn’t annoy him like those polyester shirts that cling to your body like latex on a hot day. He expects to drink and well, maybe just a little bit more than that, if he’s completely honest. Foggy was away with his family for a week or two and the summer break was slowly eating Matt alive once he had the room to himself. As an orphan, he was entitled to keep it, so when the campus became a little bit too empty to sleep peacefully, Matt got worried for his mental health.

Maybe a little too much. He swallowed, fixed his necklace — cheesy plumped out heart on a heavy chain — he called a guy from the lacrosse team. Who in his right mind would do such a thing he had no clue, but after all, this guy — Jake or Jeremiah? Anywho, he was down to cheat on his girlfriend a little bit, which might have been handy. After all, Matt is a lawyer, not a God. He doesn’t care that much.

A beep and Jake or Jeremiah's sleepy voice comes through, a bit startled.

‘’Hello? Matt?’’

‘’I’ve been wondering if you’re still in town’’, Matt says without further polite hello’s and how are you’s.

‘’I’m not’’, the guy's voice gets high-pitched even via whispers and crackles of a cell connection. ‘’Look, Matt…I’m with Mia’’.

‘’Cool’’, Matt says indifferently, trying to fix his hair. At least what in his mind fixing his hair feels like. ‘’So, you free tonight?’’

‘’No’’, the guy is panicking. His heart rate is audible even through the phone. Matt pinches the bridge of his nose. ‘’I mean, I am with Mia. Please, stop calling’’.

As he hangs up, he dissolves Matt's fantasy of a lovely night. Right, only a month ago this guy got a very nice head without a single mention of his girlfriend. Just Matt’s luck, eh?

His last chance is to get reallyyyy drunk at Josie’s and maybe, just maybe, God will notice his suffering and will supply him with some good cock. Please, God, it’s Matt again.

His outfit is set and his bag is full of money from his scholarship, lube and condoms. Alright, maybe one toy, but it is really small and handy! Foggy would say he is dressed like a slut and would mean that as a compliment. So, Matt is very, very hopeful.

The bar, however, feels extremely bleak. Bunch of tourists are chatting in the corner about Central Park, like it was the most amusing place in the whole wide world. A couple at the barstools, all lovey-dovey. Matt is sick, Matt is desperate.

‘’Hi, Josie’’, he grumbles. The woman is laughing, she puts her glasses back on with a loud thud.

‘’Ain’t you look lovely, sweetheart?’’ she teases. ‘’Hunting for some fun?’’

‘’Ha-ha’’, says Matt, asking for whatever she’s pouring with one hand. She knows what he wants and fixes him a glass of whiskey. ‘’You know how it gets in the summer’’.

‘’Maybe you’re just at the wrong bar, sweetheart’’, she says with clear amusement in her voice.

‘’Maybe I’m not’’, Matt swallows his first sip and it tastes like piss. Just what he needs tonight. To be fair, he has no energy to try other places like Josie implies. Gay bar? Please. This place is crowded with evil twinks, he wouldn’t find a dick in a month, all new men are already booked. He wasn’t sure if he’s into catfights to ruin his non-existent mood.

Just as he goes for another glass, the door opens and closes with a soft thump and a bell rings softly. Josie is tensing immediately, Matt notices. Her gestures become strained, like she’s not happy with who she’s seeing. Matt owlishly turns his head towards the door, but picks on nothing. Except for loud, heavy steps that follow his direction. Normally it would have made his skin crawl, but tonight? Tonight he’s just in the mood for a little bit of sweet danger.

‘’What can I get for you?’’ very un-friendly asks Josie, her head following every move of this stranger.

Matt tilts his head subtly, sniffing. Sweat, more sweat, old leather. Dust, dirt. Someone fresh off the road with a dirty, dusty car. Probably a long ride.

‘’Whiskey, neat’’, the stranger says in that rumbling timbre that makes Matt’s skin crawl with goosebumps. This man is older, clearly. He sits there casually next to Matt, which is nice, because he probably doesn’t assume Matt as a fag who needs to be locked down in an asylum. Good.

‘’Can I have one more, Josie?’’ Matt whines, begging. His glasses are covering half of his face.

‘’On me’’, the stranger suddenly says. Matt’s smile widens by every second. Oh, this better be good. He salutes to a man with his glass and murmurs.

‘’Well, thank you’’.

‘’You’re welcome, kid’’, man snickers to his glass with amusement, teeth clicking against the glass. Matt’s breath hitches, but not for long.

‘’I’m old enough to drink’’, he protests.

‘’Sure, sugar’’, guy huffs. ‘’Whatever you say’’.

‘’Why’d you buy me a drink, then?’’ Matt is relentless. He wants this ache gone, he wants to do something stupid. Stranger’s stool is creaking, heavily. Matt thinks to himself ‘’he’s quite large’’. Murdock’s own stool was barely even pulled out.

‘’Just ‘cause’’, he says aversively. ‘’You look sad for a random kid at the bar’’.

Random? Matt thinks. Oh, no. Oh, hell no.

‘’Hi’’, Matt drawls seductively, his lips twitching in a shadow of a smile. ‘’I’m Matt’’.

Stranger seems to be taken aback by this young boy, old enough to be his son and yet, shamelessly flirting with him tonight. He even looks around, not able to believe his own eyes, as Matt notices. What? After all, someone has to improve this situation.

‘’I’m…Dex’’, the guy says, like the syllables got stuck on his tongue and fell into his whiskey.

‘’Nice to meet you’’, Matt purrs, sipping his own whiskey like lemonade. ‘’Where’d you come from?’’

‘’A long way ‘round’’, Dex says with a smile. More of a fake one, probably, yet Matt taps at the warmth in his voice and grins happily like he just heard the best news.

‘’And all alone?’’

Dex laughs, a rough sound, more like cheetah’s purrs than a melodic noise. Oh, Matt was ready to drop on his knees right there, take off Dex’s pants and—

‘’Apparently, not as alone as I thought’’, he says. Noticing the glimpse of dead, empty eyes behind Matt’s glasses. Interesting. Very. He leans closer. ‘’And you?’’

‘’Very much alone’’, Matt nods and his glasses jump. The older guy widens his lips in a crooked, lazy smile. Matt should have pinpointed the sense of imminent danger radiating off him, but he couldn’t. He was too busy hunting, barely realizing that he’s the one who’s being the perfect prey.

‘’You can’t see me’’, Dex says, flatly, like a cold fact and Matt’s smile drops just a little.

‘’Good eye’’, he mumbles into his drink, figuring that’s just as far as it gets, probably.

‘’Do you want to?’’ he suddenly says. Matt’s head perks up, tilting to the side like a curious fox.

‘’What?’’

‘’Do you want to? See me?’’ Dex clarifies, twirling the glass in his hands.

‘’Um…’’ Matt isn’t sure if he’s being a laughing stock right now, or something else he just can’t follow. Dex laughs again, not coldly, no. He grabs Matt’s hand suddenly, and before he can pull away with a shocked gasp, he brings the palm to his own face.

‘’See me’’, his breath is warm on Matt’s fingers. Oh. That’s what he means. Right. See him. Matt swallows thickly, fingertips dancing across Dex’s face carefully. He traces the line of his nose, his cheekbones, touching a deep scar. Crow’s feet go from his eyes like sunbeams when he scowls at Matt’s delicate touch. He reaches Dex’s mouth, his lips are chapped and warm, curving into a lopsided grin. Matt smiles when he touches his smile, a reflex to show pretty white jaws. Dex leans forward and suddenly nips on Matt’s finger, making the last one yelp. People at the bar notice it, turning their curious scarecrow heads towards the unexpected match, yet Dex barely looks away.

‘’So,’’ he rasps. ‘’How do I look?’’

Matt breathes through open mouth, his cheeks are that cute rosy color, like a glass-stained window at the church.

‘’Handsome’’, he whispers.

Dex kisses his fingertips, probably shocking Josie to a heart attack.

‘’Thank you, baby’’, he purrs. ‘’So are you’’.

Matt’s heart doing that weird flip again when the heat pours in his stomach in a sickening knot. Baby. Oh, God, he is that easy. Not that it surprises him too much or makes him feel disgusted with himself, no. He’s past that point where he sees himself as the greatest disappointment in the eyes of the God, he can tolerate a man twice his age calling him baby. He likes it, even. A witty way to say ‘’fuck you, God, for leaving me all alone here’’.

He’s not alone. Dex rubs his stubble on his open palm, like a gigantic domesticated tiger and he smiles, even. Matt makes sure he feels how his mouth curves in a lopsided toothy grin.

‘’Am I scarin’ you?’’ Dex murmurs, his voice dry as brunches in the fire.

‘’No’’, Matt lies. ‘’I’m not scared of you’’.

Dex is clearly not buying it, but he doesn’t argue either.

‘’Maybe you should be’’, he continues, shifting his body closer to Matt. His top is absolutely ravishing and Dex can’t wait to get his hands all over that young, lean body.

‘’Not a wise pick-up line’’, Matt breathes out. ‘’Maybe I’ll change my mind’’.

‘’But you won’t’’, Dex draws lazily. ‘’Will you?’’

‘’You don’t know that’’, Matt weakly defends himself, but his resolve is faltering. He wants Dex’s mouth on his and in so many other places.

‘’Oh, but I do’’, Dex kisses his open palm like a sinner, seeking for atonement. ‘’Can I kiss you, baby?’’

‘’Not here’’, Matt pleads. He doesn’t want to ruin Josie’s night even more so, he doesn’t want to hear whispers about young people losing all sense of shame and not looking up to morals and God. He’s been there, nothing much to look at.

Dex nods, fighting his urge to tug him by this gigantic heart-shaped necklace and kiss him anyway, but yeah. He doesn’t want to share what he’s discovered with gaping outsiders either.

He leaves a generous tip for Josie and ushers Matt outside, broad hand sprawled behind his lower back like a promise. Matt doesn’t feel that sickening itch of approaching danger. Maybe it’s just him all along.

Fresh air hits him like a freight train, Matt is drunk and giddy, and his crop top is drawing gazes from people on the street. Someone is whistling at him, Dex grunts.

‘’My car’’, he spits.

‘’Where?’’ Matt jokingly wiggles his hand in front of his blind eyes, smiling to make the mood lighter. Dex ruffles his hair.

‘’Come on, kid’’.

Yep, his car smells like dust and leather. Matt crawls on the passenger seat like a princess, settling himself. Everything smells like Dex, like Matt’s cut open his chest and that’s him— ribs and a fluttering heart. That’s exactly what he imagined. A sweaty jacket behind his head, musky heavy smell of dust and old clothes. Dex starts the engine, not much of a talker. Everything becomes more real.

‘’Wait’’, Matt whines. Dex cocks his head to the side, expecting some excuse to let him go. ‘’Please, gimme a kiss before we go. I need that’’.

Dex is surprised, like a predator that has been told ‘’yes, do it’’ instead of ‘’no, please don’t’’. He’s not sure what to do, so he gives up and leans closer. ‘’Absolutely, baby’’.

And he kisses him. Slow and precise, like the click of a gun pointing at Matt’s skull. He cradles his face in his rough hand, managing to slip his tongue in Matt’s open lips. The kiss is wet and so is Matt. He shuffles uncomfortably in these damn jeans, making soft, needy noises and almost trying not to crawl on Dex’s lap.

‘’Careful, kid’’, he murmurs, licking into Matt's open mouth, a long swipe of his flat tongue with a taste of whiskey and something else.

‘’Not a kid’’, Matt objects weakly, his head spinning.

‘’Right’’, Dex smiles in a kiss, holding Matt’s neck. He likes kissing him, Matt understands suddenly, like a forming storm. He really likes it. ‘’What then? Baby? Sweetheart? Darlin’?’’

Oh, Dex finds it amusing, but Matt feels dizzy with his growing arousal.

‘’Baby’s fine’’, he gives up. It doesn’t land right, but it’s okay.

‘’Good boy?’’ right, Dex is not giving up, though.

Matt blushes heavily, red as a tomato in city lights. He hides his face from Dex, but he won’t have it, catching Matt’s chin painfully between his calloused fingers.

‘’No?’’ his breath is warm with an alcohol taint, lingering on his lips. ‘’What is it then?’’

Matt is ready to swallow his own tongue for being so indecisive. He should have gone with sweetheart, it’s harmless. But Dex is ogling him like dinner, Matt could sense his blood storming below that heavy army belt to a very impressive dick. The one that Matt wants to taste, but he’s stuck in a mind-fuck game.
‘’Stop’’, he wheezes, desperate and trembling.

Dex laughs in a low voice, more of a chuckle.

‘’I know’’, he licks Matt’s neck suddenly, down from the collarbone to his ear, until his lips stop just at his earlobe to whisper. ‘’Good girl. Am I on point?’’

Straight to the bull’s eye. Matt sobs, unrestrained and teary, ashamed. Dex is blinking with surprise, amused and awed.

‘’Oh, don’t cry’’, he cradles Matt’s face, pulling off his glasses carefully; they land on his backseat. ‘’Such a perfect girl. Shhh, don’t be ashamed.’’

Matt is hiccuping, blushing and nauseous with arousal. A heady mix straight to his head.

How does he know? Can he read his mind? Matt’s mind is definitely swamped with questions, but Dex notices that too and goes for another kiss, a deep one. He kisses him louder and wetter, in a silent car these slurping noises are lewd just as a moan at the church.

‘’Sweet girl’’, he babbles between kisses. ‘’Fuck, you’re delicious. All mine, babygirl’’.

Matt wonders what might happen if he opens that dashboard and shoots himself in the head with a compact pistol that Dex owns. But instead he places his shaking hand over Dex’s crotch, rubbing heavy, very outlined length of him.

‘’Easy, girl’’, Dex huffs, his cock twitching under Matt’s palm.

‘’I want to’’, Matt swallows thickly, whiny and teary. He’s a right mess.

‘’Want to what?’’ Dex rasps. ‘’Take me in your mouth? Suck on that?’’

Matt goes silent, his heart beating in his throat. Dex smirks.

‘’Yeah, you do. You want that shit. You want to wrap your pretty puffy lips around my cock and taste how bad I want you’’.

Matt nods, shortly and desperate.

‘’Go for it’’, Dex offers easily. He leans back in his seat, they haven’t even moved anywhere. That’s a test, Matt is certain. Dex wants to know if he’ll chicken out. So, with wobbly fingers, Matt struggles with his belt. Then comes the zipper, then…Matt slides his hand in, horrified and impressed by how wet and warm he is. How big he is, too. Would that even fit?

Dex laughs with amusement and pulls out a cigarette.

‘’Go on, girl. Take what you need. Ain’t helping you’’.

Matt is frustrated, annoyed and a bit terrified. Of course he’s sucked a cock, what is he? A virgin? No, of course not. But this is different. So, he manages to pull out Dex’s heavy cock in his hand, leans over it and spits. His hand is shaking badly, yet he tries, God, he does. Dex tastes just like he imagines when he gives his weepy head a kitten lick. Warm, wet, musky. Matt cleans off the precum with his mouth and swipes his tongue down the shaft. Would it be too freaky if he would bury his nose in Dex’s balls and sniff? Yeah, not right now, anyway. He takes half of his cock in his mouth, hollowing out his cheeks.

‘’Good girl, fuck’’, Dex is blissed out completely, his massive hips are twitching towards Matt’s head and he chokes. ‘’Come on, breathe through your nose’’.

He’s taunting him while he smokes. Cocky and arrogant, Matt has a mouthful of it, literally. He’s trying to impress this guy who could be old enough to be his father.

‘’Mmh, baby, your mouth is perfect’’, Dex’s free hand tangles in Matt’s hair.  He thrusts up sharply, holding his head right where he wants to, he’s done waiting. His balls slap Matt’s chin when he drills down his throat, stopping from time to time to let Matt breathe. His eyes are so teary, it’s pretty and scary.

Just as his balls tense, ready to shoot his load, he groans and pulls Matt even closer, snarling. ‘’Yeah, take it all, girl. Come on, be a good girl for your dad’’.

Matt’s head is ringing, he tries to swallow, but it all oozes from his nostrils and he sobs, coughs and tries to breathe. Dex is not trying to touch him, not now. He is waiting for the words to settle, Matt is ready to puke. So he does, he grabs his purse and throws up in there, ruining condom packs and his phone.

‘’Hey, easy’’, Dex shifts, not even tucking his cock in his pants yet. He grabs a bottle from a backseat and gives it to Matt, lid taken off. ‘’Drink.’’

Matt drinks and drinks, until his throat is no longer on fire from coughing. He’s silent and embarrassed.

‘’Too much?’’ Dex asks quietly, wondering if he might have messed it up.

Matt pauses and then shakes his head no. Dex rubs his face with his hand, visibly relaxing.

‘’Shit’’, he says. ‘’You scared there me for a bit, kid’’.

‘’Maybe you should be scared’’, Matt says weakly, but offers Dex a smile. He laughs loudly and places his hands on a wheel, moving the car out of the parking lot.

‘’Yeah, maybe I should.’’
