Work Text:

The party was loud, warm and sweaty. It was packed with far too many people, how did they all even fit in there? It wasn't like the usual party the marauders constantly hosted, this was hosted by a group of Ravenclaws, which meant that literally everyone was invited, even Slytherins.

It wasn't something he'd usually ever do, but after persuasion from practically all his friends, Severus decided to go along to the party. He'd rather stay in his room and study, but his friends were too excited over a party with the rest of the school to pass it up. Most parties were hosted by the four marauders, which always meant No Slytherins allowed, but the Ravenclaws were different, they didn't have some weird, unbridled hate for all Slytherins.

There was loud music blasting, sweaty teenagers ranging from 4th year up to 7th year. It was strange to see people younger than Severus himself dancing, already pissed with the amount of firewhisky that he wasn't sure on how they'd gotten their hands on. He had planned to only stay in a corner and silently judge the people around him, especially when he saw the marauders there. Of course, they were there. They were everywhere and it was quite annoying.

His plan to go unnoticed would never work, though. Not with Barty Crouch jr as his mate. Barty always had to be in the center of attention, and often dragged his friends along to join him.

It wasn't long before he'd managed to get firewhisky down Severus' throat, it burned strongly as he tried his best not to cough, especially since he'd practically sipped twice from his glass and people were watching him. Barty groaned at his speed of which he drank, then wrapped an arm around his shoulder, making Severus huff at the proximity. The glass with the drink slowly raised, he could see and feel it, how Barty was pushing it up closer to his lips again. He didn't really try to resist it, because after the burning in his throat had calmed, it didn't taste too bad. He hesitated though, then lifted the glass himself and drank down the rest of it as the boy next to him whooped with delight loudly in his ear, then walked away into the massive crowd.

That seemed to be what Barty had wanted, because now Severus was alone again, only this time, he was stuck in between dancing teens, girls giggling loudly with clothes far too messed up to ever pass the school dresscode. Same with the boys aswell.

It was a party though, and Severus was already breaking school rules, so why should he care? He pushed through all the people and headed towards and unknown destination. He was really only guessing when walking through the sea of people. Somehow he ended up by the drinks and foods table. He didn't mind, only grabbed a crisp or two, then filled his glass up with some red punch that smelled sickenly sweet, a strong alcoholic scent coming from it.

As he gulped it down, the taste washed over him and it was honestly worse than he'd thought. Tastes of mixed alcoholic drinks hit him all at once, they didn't taste good together, some far too bitter to be paired up with once tasting of sweet fruit. He didn't spit it out though, he drank his whole glass and realised pretty quick that he couldn't hold his alcohol well.

He felt drowsy already, not too much, of course, but more than anyone else would feel after two glasses of alcohol. Although, the punch was probably alcoholic enough to make anyone feel a bit tipsy.

On a nearby wall, he leaned, staring over the room to see who was there again, he could still judge. Then he saw the marauders again, Sirius trying to get as much attention as possible, hair all messed up while Remus simply stared at him like he was being absolutely ridiculous. James seemed to be talking to Lily who was actively ignoring him, as he deserved. Although, one person was missing. That damn Pettigrew wasn't by his other friends, it was weird, he'd usually always stay so close, trying to talk to one of them  and only getting a short conversation out of it.

It was almost enough to make him feel sorry for him, but then again, Severus didn't exactly care about someone like Peter Pettigrew. Not someone who hung around the worst people he'd ever met.

But it did still confuse him on where the chubby boy had gone.

Just as he though that, someone stood next to him, also leaning against the wall. Severus didn't turn his head, but he did glance to his side, eyes meeting a pair of blue orbs staring back at him. A blonde boy with flushed, round cheeks. Peter.

At seeing clearly who it was, Severus did turn his head, immediatly glaring at Peter like he'd insulted him by simply existing in his presence.

They were both silent for a while as Severus accidentally watched the other a bit too closely, noticing his hair looking like he'd run his fingers through it mere seconds ago, and he looked like he was tempted to smile awkwardly, but never really got to that point.

"I don't think I've ever seen you at a party before," Peter suddenly broke their silence, letting out a small huff of attempted laughter.

It wasn't like he'd ever been horrible to Severus, but he had never done anything to stop his friends, so why was he trying to hold a conversation now? It all seemed strange. Maybe he was simply just pissed and spoke to anyone.

"I don't attend parties, and even if I did, most of them want to keep out Slytherins," he hissed, despite the fact that Pettigrew hadn't done anything to deserve his snappy tone at the moment.

Peter looked flustered for a moment before clearing his throat, "Why attend this one?"

The question caught him off guard, making him raise a brow at Peter. Did he seriously care about Severus' reason for being here? That seemed dumb, especially coming from someone like Pettigrew.

Severus didn't answer, but Peter didn't stop watching him for a whole five minutes before shrugging and walking to the table nearby, grabbing a glass and scooping the punch into it, then came back and stood against the wall next to him again, just the other side this time.

He drank from his glass before making a face, it seemed he didn't like the taste of the drink either. The face he was making was enough to nearly make Severus scoff at him, instead he simply just hid a small smirk by looking away.

"Oh, bloody hell... What the hell is in this drink? It tastes horrible!" Peter exclaimed, earning him a glance from Severus again. "Have you tried it?" he asked, holding out his glass to him.

Severus pulled back as much as he could into the wall, but that didn't stop the other, he didn't stop until he finally got a nod.

"You have? Oh, mate, you couldn't have warned me?" he laughed, seeming less nervous compared to when he had just approached. It was clear that he was pissed, normally, he'd never even approach Severus.

"Why would I warn you?" Severus huffed, glaring at him, Peter's laugh melted into something awkward once again before he took another swig of his drink, then finished the glass before going to get more. Why get more if it tasted terrible?

When he returned for the second time, he only held out the glass, towards Severus, waiting for him to take it, not taking his shaking of his head for an answer. Finally, he sighed and took the glass, then drank from it without flinching at the taste even once.

It went on like that for a while, honestly, Peter just wouldn't leave, and then took turns drinking from the same glass of the same horrible punch. Eventually, they'd gotten themselves so drunk that they'd gone from standing to sitting on the floor. Peter's legs were stretched out before him meanwhile Severus sat with his knees close to his chest. They mostly just sat there, looking at eachother now.

"Y'know, you're not the worst to be 'round when you aren't glaring like a sourpuss," Peter said, making Severus realise he'd stopped glaring at him coldly a while ago.

"You're not the worst to be around when you aren't desperate for the validation of your friends," he replied with, which made Peter's silly grin disappear for a moment before he lit up again.

"Was that technically a compliment?" he asked with an even worse grin plastered on his face, his buckteeth showing off more than usual. Severus only groaned and looked away, before feeling something warm nudge at it shoulder, not just a nudge, but a constant warmth and gentle weight against him now.

He looked back to the other boy, seeing their shoulders pressed together now as Pettigrew kept leaning in closer. Was he still expecting an answer for his ridiculous question? He was mad if he thought he'd ever get an answer other than no out of Severus.

But no, there was no awaiting of an answer, because before Severus could scoff at him and push him away, Peter leaned in even closer, the tips of their noses touching and it became clear that he wasn't even making eye contact anymore. A warm flush quickly spread over Severus' cheeks as he flinched away quickly. Peter blinked before his cheeks also turned red, as if aware of what he was doing.

"Oh, bollocks-! Sorry, Snape..."

He looked almost like a kicked dog when apologising, watching him like he'd get up and leave at any moment. Severus didn't leave. He wasn't sure why he didn't just leave, but he stayed before reaching out, putting his slender hand over Peter's more chubby one, seeing his eyes widen at the contact. He got up, holding onto his hand, which made Peter follow suit before he looked confused.

"Are you.. not angry with me?" Pettigrew asked slowly, and once again, Severus gave no answer, but he started walking, tugging on his hand even though it wasn't needed, Peter followed him silently.

They needed to be alone, not sitting on the floor of an overly crowded party where anyone could easily see them. Couldn't steal one of the dorms either, because someone could walk in. So, the easiest solution was to leave the party altogether, and Peter didn't seem to have any complaints about it.

"Where are we going? Somewhere.. private?" he questioned more and more, seemingly over his earlier embarrassment.

"Mm."

That was the only response he gave, but he was satisfying enough that Peter instantly stopped asking question and simply followed along as Severus lead them both to his own dorm, it wasn't like his roommates would be back for hours.

Once inside his room, he closed the door and even locked it, just incase. The locking of the door made Peter practically flinch as he gulped down when Severus approached him. It was all on the alcohol, if he was sober, he would've never approached Peter this way, would approach anyone this way.

But now, it didn't take too long before they'd gotten close again, breaths mingling together as they both stayed like that for a moment, just watching, Severus looking into those blue eyes while Peter focused only on his mouth. Then the distance was closed and the room suddenly felt warmer, their hands reached out for one another, grabbing whatever came first. Peter pressed a hand to Severus' lower back and applying light pressure as if to pull him closer. It felt clumsy, Severus had never kissed anyone before, but he knew that Peter had, he'd seen him kissing his girlfriend one time, although, they were broken up by now. Severus parted his lips as he tilted his head to the side to try and deepen the kiss, feeling Peter's lips against his own was extremely strange.

He grasped onto his shirt tightly, pulling just lightly, which made the blonde boy sigh out softly before they parted for breath, then diving right back in for another kiss. Perhaps with too much speed, their teeth clacked lightly, making them both wince before resuming the messy kiss. It didn't really seem to matter that Peter had already had his first kiss, he wasn't much better at it, and he seemed realtively nervous aswell.

As if using the same mind, both their lips part at the same time and their kiss progresses, both pushing forward, Severus extra much, feeling a bit empowered by the kiss, pushing Peter back slowly, following after him as they moved while awkward tongues slid across eachother, trying their best to seem like they knew what they were doing.

Severus stopped walking Peter backwards when the back of his knees hit the bedframe, he wasn't sure who's bed it was, and he didn't care to check. His tongue accidentally touched against Pete's teeth.

It felt a bit unsanitary and gross how a small drop of saliva had come to the corner of his mouth, threatening to run down, and he wasn't sure who it belonged to. After a moment longer, Peter himself decided to sit down on the bed, breaking their kiss for a moment as they both huffed and Severus took the chance to wipe away the saliva.

"You- uh, could sit down too," the blonde cleared his throat, cheeks and ears red. Severus took a moment before sitting down next to him, finally looking at who's bed it was. His own, thank Salazar.

Peter moved his hand, putting it over Severus' and curling his fingers between his slim ones. They stared at eachother for a minute before Peter leaned back in, pressing a small kiss to his cheek, for some strange reason, it made Severus shiver slightly, then he swallowed as Pettigrew moved along his jaw, still kissing him, working down to his neck, earning a bigger shiver from Severus. He lifted his chin slowly, as if hesitant about it, but still leaning into the whole thing.

The chubby boy pushed forward, making them both shift until he could gently push Severus down to his back, his raven hair spreading out over the sheets slightly as he moved up on the bed to pull his leg up aswell. It was strange how natural, yet unfamiliar it all felt. And insane, he was in bed with Peter Pettigrew of all people, it was insane to think of. Was he thinking the same, I can't believe I'm kissing Snivellus of all people! That was what he probably thought. No matter, this was something they'd both decided to do.

The kisses left on his neck were all light, nothing like you would see in movies, in movies it was quick and often looked too harsh. It was silent in the room, yet all he could hear were the soft breaths leaving Pete's mouth, and his heart pounding in his chest.

The hand left his own right before it moved over to the hem of his shirt, fisting in the fabric and right about to pull up as a voice approached. Severus knew tthat voice, it was Mulciber. Why was he back so early?

Damn it all. Severus quickly pushed Peter away, the boy looking down at him dazed, then he looked hurt right before seemingly also hearing the voice and quickly snapping back to reality. Now he only looked panicked. Severus pushed up to sit right as Pettigrew got off the bed, he stood aimlessly in the middle of the room before being re-directed to go hide under the bed.

The door rattled just as Peter had hidden himself, then it clicked the lock open, Mulciber coming in and looking confused.

"Why was the door locked?" he questioned, earning a disinterested shrug from Severus. "Mmh. By the way, good thing you left that party, those stupid marauders decided to take over and sent all Slytherins away."

..All Slytherins? How was Pettigrew ever supposed to get out without being noticed?

There were no windows in the dorm.

Mulciber went for the bathroom and Severus quickly dove down to drag Peter out from under the bed.

"You need to leave, right now," he hissed as the boy nodded quickly, then quickly heading for the door.

No commotion ever came from the common room, so perhaps he was quick enough to go unnoticed. Severus let out a small breath of relief before suddenly catching himself. He'd just been making out with a boy who's nickname was Wormtail!

Good grief.
