it's not easy to handle a princess

Summary:

It's just simple. Seoyeon will tutor Yooyeon, the (dumb) angelic princess and she's going to be paid handsomely. But who was she kidding? It's not that simple!

Work Text:

The deafening silence and the uncomfortable energy her seatmate radiates is making Seoyeon crazy.

Like what the hell, is it really necessary to make them sit beside each other? It's not like she's gonna bite her or what, she's anything but a rabid animal! (camera suddenly pans to Mayu in the distance)

Don't get her wrong, they totally don't hate each other. But they also don't like each other. Something like in between. Neutral some may say, or just simply nothing at all.

“So can I go now?” Seoyeon side-eyed the woman beside her, “I still have homeworks to finish.”

The teacher whom they call ‘Miss Kwon’ shook her head, “I'm afraid you still can't. You still need to help Ms. Kim here with her studies.”

Seoyeon rolled her eyes, “Oh please, stop calling your own daughter like that. We are literally not in school anymore.”

Miss Kwon cleared her throat, feeling embarrassed because Seoyeon made points right there. She really can't mess with this smartass kid.

Seoyeon remained silent. Waiting for her teacher to tell her that she may get out of their house so she can plop on her bed and watch the latest episode of her favorite anime.

She saw Miss Kwon's mouth move. Saying something she clearly had no idea about. Maybe because she's not listening but who cares? She misses her bed!

Seoyeon turned to face the awkward girl beside her, scanning her features. She's pretty. But her visuals really ain't her type.

Just as I thought, she's only pretty that's all!

It's not her fault that she's dumb and is struggling to understand a thing or two about how numbers and letters work and cooperate. And by the looks of it, it's totally not gonna be her fault if she's physically weak too.

The pretty girl that is Miss Kwon's daughter, Kim Yooyeon, is sitting beside her and is fiddling her own fingers.

She's definitely a shy and awkward girl, Seoyeon thinks. Well suited for a princess since Yooyeon both looks and feels like one. She got so immersed with herself judging the princess that she forgot Miss Kwon is still in the room.

“Wha—what the!?” Seoyeon abruptly rose from her seat. Because what the hell?

Why the fuck is her teacher, THE great Miss Kwon, kneeling in front of her?

Seconds after, the princess followed her mother.

This is pure insanity!

“Please help my poor daughter in her studies!” Miss Kwon cried. Bowing her head as if she’s talking to a god. But the god in question is only a mere human in the form of Seoyeon. And then suddenly, she’s having a headache.

“Aren’t you the teacher here?” Seoyeon tried to make the teacher stand up to save herself from shame, “Why are you asking me to help your own child?”

This time, it was Yooyeon that answered her question, “She’s leaving next week. Miss—I mean mom got a job offer to work abroad for two years. And besides, you’re only going to tutor me for a few months, a year maximum if extended.”

“And why me?”

“Why not?” Seoyeon didn't know what took over Yooyeon, but the shy awkward princess from earlier is already gone! She transitioned from a beautiful flower to a whole damn wolf. She gotta admit, it’s kinda hot.

But she still ain’t her type.

“If I accept, what will I get in return?”

“Money,” Miss Kwon answered her student’s question. Feeling happy because there might be a chance to help her child while she’s still gone.

As you can see, Yooyeon has already gone through a number of tutors within the past few years. Every single one of them came crying in front of Yeonhwa saying that they give up. Apparently to them, her precious daughter is a lost cause.

“We will pay you rightfully, just name your price,” Seoyeon’s eyes sparkled at the mention of money. Deep inside, she’s already celebrating. Screaming because at last, the ticket to heaven is being offered. She can now bulk buy albums from her favorite kpop groups!

The teacher and her smartest student shook hands. Both parties smile at each other as if they’re politicians who agreed on something law related, except that what they agreed upon isn’t having any slightest bits of law.

Seoyeon will certainly make this princess a genius!

Moments later after her strict teacher left the room and it was only the two of them, Yooyeon was silently checking out on Seoyeon and the latter didn’t even know because she was scrolling down her phone.

“My mom actually forgot something,” Yooyeon spoke, smirking at the oblivious Seoyeon.

“What is it?” The Japanese asked. Failing to notice the princess who suddenly turned into a different person.

“You’re not just getting paid,” She saw how the younger one put down her phone to face her. Finally Seoyeon’s attention was on the smirking Yooyeon. “You are also gonna get yourself a girlfriend.”

...

Insane. Literally insane. This Yooyeon girl is insane. She will never get tired of calling Kim Yooyeon insane because it’s true. She’s the most insane person Seoyeon has ever met!

Imagine being a person who looks like an innocent precious bean radiating princess (more likely an angel, now that Seoyeon is thinking about it again) who can’t even hurt a darn fly suddenly turns into a scary looking beast who’s about to attack you if you’re not careful enough!

Also, Seoyeon remembered hearing something ridiculous from her last night. Seriously? A girlfriend?

“No way,” Speaking of the devil, she saw Yooyeon timidly placing her books inside her locker. “So she’s back to her princess persona again I see.”

“Who?”

Seoyeon accidentally threw her book away due to shock, “Argh, that was my most precious book!” Seeing how it flew forward, she silently prayed to the gods that it would land safely.

Only to see the book land beside Yooyeon’s foot.

“Shit,” Seoyeon cursed, “This is your fault for startling me! Now my favorite book is in that demon’s possession!” She dragged her friend away from the lockers. Hoping that the demon princess never saw them in that place.

“What was that?” Nakyoung asked while offering Seoyeon a strawberry milk she just bought.

“Mind your own damn business,” she wasted no damn second as she aggressively grabbed the flavored milk her friend gave her.

Why is she here anyways? Oh wait—right, we're classmates.

The two pretty best friends walked their way to the cafeteria. Sitting on the same table after getting their food, Nakyoung noticed how Seoyeon was still frowning.

“Geez, I'm sorry, okay? It was an accident.”

“Accident my foot, you did it on purpose! You can't fool me.”

“Uhm, excuse me—”

“What!?”

The girl was taken aback by Seoyeon's grumpy attitude. She never expected to see her roaring at her. Maybe she came in at the wrong time.

Seoyeon faked her cough, blinking a few times and composed herself, “What are you doing here?”

Nakyoung saw how Seoyeon fixed herself within seconds as she thought that it was kind of funny.

“I-Is this yours?” Yooyeon shyly handed Seoyeon a book that flew away from her earlier, “I saw you guys earlier. I wanted to give this to you but you already left.”

Crap. There's a possibility that she knew that Seoyeon was staring at her earlier too!

Seoyeon chuckled. A fake one. Then she stretched her arm to receive her favorite book from the princess.

“Thank you, I guess.”

The princess smiled angelically. A genuine one. As if there was a halo above her. A light shining on her from the heavens. The only thing that's left was the angel wings.

God why is she so suddenly sparkly! It's blinding me!

“You're welcome.” Yooyeon said. Then she skipped her way out of the cafeteria happily like a child who got her ice cream.

“Didn't know you and miss pretty girl are friends,” Nakyoung said after sipping her smoothie. Seoyeon threw a fry at her which the older one avoided. She doesn't want it to ruin her uniform.

“We are not friends,” she slammed her fists on the table and stood on her seat, leaving Nakyoung alone there. The latter didn't mind though, she's still not done eating anyway.

Marching her way to the classroom she saw Yooyeon leaning on the wall, her left hand inside her skirt pocket while the other was holding a lollipop.

Seoyeon wanted to stop her tracks and turn around. She doesn't really want to see this girl right now but she still needs to attend her classes. Highly important.

So instead of stopping, she continued to walk in the corridor ignoring the princess. She's not gonna adjust for this Kim Yooyeon, she still got tests to ace!

“Hey,” The girl called Seoyeon but she only ignored her, “I'm talking to you.”

“Do I know you?” Seoyeon quickly faked her smile. God she's wearing a lot of fake masks today and she hates it.

“Oohhh so you're playing this kind of game huh,” Yooyeon walked towards Seoyeon, licking her lollipop. The latter was kind of distracted and the princess noticed it.

This kind of dark aura coming from this Kim Yooyeon… Seoyeon knows that she's a dangerous person.

She took a step back. Yooyeon came forward and the only thing she did was the opposite. Now the demon (notice how it went from angelic to demonic) princess is pinning her to the wall. Oh how Seoyeon wanted to wipe the smirk off her face!

“Please take care of me well, Miss Girlfriend!” Her expression shifted from dark to her signature warm and innocent one.

Angelic princess my ass. This woman is two-faced!

The bell rang so it was Yooyeon's cue to leave Seoyeon alone. She entered the room holding her own laughter. Such a pity that they're not classmates.

Seoyeon didn't realize that she was gripping her favorite book tightly the entire time. And what's worse? She's a few minutes late already!

Gritting her teeth, she marched her way to the class. Her perfect attendance record is now broken, all thanks to the crazy girl who is Miss Kwon's daughter.

This will be tough.
