The kids did great decorating for Pride, Grace thinks, meandering along the line of various pride flags in the school hallway. He’s surprised they bothered, with school nearly out. Maybe it’s tradition—he’s new, he wouldn’t know. He recognizes most of the flags, but one’s unfamiliar.
On a whim, he googles it. He’s certainly not impatient to bike home in the June heat. He’s barely through wikipedia’s first sentence about aromantic asexuals before a rightness fills his heart, his blood, his brain. Take it slow, he thinks. You haven’t read enough to really know.
On another level, though, he has.
