Work Text:
Nick has a love-hate relationship with being a teacher. For one he loves teaching children and a lot of kids remind him of his younger self. But teaching year 10s has its consequences.
Being an openly queer teacher in a relationship he surprisingly gets asked a LOT about relationship advice. He’s glad that kids can talk about stuff with him but, he always gets shocked when someone asks after practice what to do about “this” or “that”.
and It’s not like the kids are oblivious to the fact that him and Charlie, the maths teacher are married but some are more observant than others.
To start Charlie and nick both use their surnames to be addressed by the kids but every other thing that’s in there classroom says Nelson-spring. How the other kids fine out is way more embarrassing.
Usually nick goes to Charlie’s class room for lunch. Today Charlie forgot to tell him something that would cost him his dignity.
so there nick was siting in Charlie’s classroom, eating lunch like any other day. Nick was going to go the bathroom so he gave Charlie a few small kisses before he leaves then he hears the door creak open and sitting there was group of kids stunned by the fact that the rugby coach and the math teacher are kissing each other. Then as if an alarm went off In one of the kids head the kids screams “YOUR DATING MR. NELSON!!???”
Charlie replies almost in a instant “we’re married but you could say that too.” The kids go silent and sit down across from Charlie and he starts helping them with their math homework.
After a while one of the kids spoke up “sooo were you guys like a enemies to lovers situation.” one of the other kids elbowed the boy “don’t talk about it”. She whispered. Charlie replied “oh no it’s fine. We were not an enemies to lovers situation we first met in our form and as soon as I saw Mr. Nelson I knew he was the one .”
“oh so it was Love at first sight.” One of them snickered “ok all of you go back to lunch now.” Nick quickly replied
🍂
It’s has been a week since the “incident” as Charlie dubbed it. Every now and then Elle has “gifts” from the students and half of these so called “gifts” is fanart of them kissing with rainbows in the background. they had both agreed if the art was actually good they would hang it up on their fridge.
Today the same group of students came in again for lunch. And both Nick and Charlie were there again too.
The same boy that asked the question last week spoke up and said “why aren’t your last names the same even though you’re married?”. “ well, our last names are the same, Nelson-spring but we just use our original names to avoid gossip among students.” Charlie then responded “which I hope you aren’t doing.”
“WERE NOT.” All of them seemed to reply in sync
All the kids finish up there work and head back to the lunchroom .Nick also headed back to his respective area and they both finish out the day without anymore disturbances.
