Before they got there

Summary:

There is a scene in a fic I'm writing where there's a pillow fight and the winner gets to pick a 'punishment' for the group. The winner ends up being Kinger, who doesn't even know he's playing. A feather lands in his hands, and he asks if they're having a tickle fight. The room scatters. Jax laughs and cracks his knuckles. He's defeated by Kinger who has a range advantage. Before Caine can declare him the winner, Kinger reminds him that he still needs to lose. He's one of the gang now.

Work Text:

Watching Jax wave a white flag of surrender and disappear to the slumber party room, Kinger and Caine turned towards one another. “Well, I do believe that’s it.” Caine lifted his hand, ready to snap his fingers.

“Nope. There’s one more left.” His bucket creaked slightly as he tilted his head. “You.” His hands flew forward towards the Ring Master, who immediately folded in half while clutching his stomach. He was trying his best to fly away.

“Kin-Kinger we can TALK about this.” Caine squeaked as the back of his suit was grasped and he was dragged back down to earth. One of Kinger’s large hands pressed Caine’s back flush to his captor’s chest. “Oh, oh no, this isn’t how I thought this would go.”

“It’s time you really join in on the adventures.” Kinger’s free hand began wiggling across Caine’s stomach. “So, does it tickle here? What about here little guy?” Kinger teased playfully, noting the blush coating the Ringmaster’s face as he tried to withstand it. “You’re a part of the team now! That means you have to lose too! It’s only fair.”

Caine was beside himself in hysterics. “K-Kinger, I insist you-!” His voice pitched up as Kinger’s hand moved towards his waist, pinching fervently at his sides. He squealed, trying to push himself off of the chessman. His short legs kicked frantically in the air.

“Looks like you’ve fallen prey to the King of Tickle Monsters!” Kinger declared! He wriggled his fingers across Caine’s stomach, who wheezed in response.

“Stahp!” He pleaded, his eyes teary from laughing. Caine sputtered, “You win! I give!”

“Aw, so fast. That was a good try!” Kinger pat Caine on his head, who immediately leaned into the touch with a soft purr. He smiled softly. “Caine, it’s time to meet up with the others.”

Caine’s expression pouted with a mild whine. After straightening his tie, he begrudgingly snapped his fingers, and they appeared in the room with the other characters.
