Chapter Text
It was a few days after the troll broke into Hogwarts. It was a Saturday and people were simply strolling around or reading books.
Suddenly—a large group of students and professors were seemingly teleported to a large room. The room was dark, a large object was centered near the back wall.
The students—Draco Malfoy, Blaise Zabini, Pansy Parkinson, Hermione Granger, Ron, Fred, and George Weasley—were freaking out. Some more than others but all equally concerned. The professors—Minerva McGonagall, Albus Dumbledore, Severus Snape, and Poppy Pomfrey—tried to calm them down while searching for what happened.
The lights turned on and they were suddenly bathed in bright golden light.
The large object near the back wall also turned on. A flash of white temporarily blinded a few of the magicians.
Hello! Welcome!
“What kind of magic is this…?" Snape said slowly with confusion and concern lacing every syllable.
This ‘magic’ is a muggle machine called a Television or TV! It allows for muggles to show and view moving images we call videos.
They were all terrified but they knew they needed answers. “W-wait you said we call videos? You're a m-mugg-” Ron weasley started before Dumbledore interrupted,"a special ability user. What do you want from us.” He said sternly.
These lines are premade btw so I'm only answering questions I thought you'd ask! Yes, I am a special ability user Dumbledore! It's called ‘Spotlight On a Ruined Stage’! It allows me to teleport any number of people to my reaction room, and display the life of one of them! This is for entertainment purposes only and none of you will be harmed
They all breathed a sigh of relief.
Draco spoke up, “but who are we reacting to? It should be me. The magnificent Malfoy!"
I'll be adding our special guest/who we are reacting to now!
At that moment a small portal opens and a man in a heavy too-large black trenchcoat falls through it. He stops for a moment to soften his fall then slams onto the ground.
His hair is uncared for, he's brunette and has curly hair. There's bandages wrapping over every part of showing skin—save for one side of his face and his hands. “... Dazai…?" Hermione started. The man's eye opened and he sat up.
"What the fuck..?" Dazai looked at them. “Language Mr.Dazai." Mrs. McGonagall says. The man stands up. He’s tall, obviously much older than their current Dazai.
“I’m not sure if you've noticed McGonagall-san, but I am no longer under your authority. Although I’m not sure how I’m here…” His voice is soft and has a slightly heavy Japanese accent.
He most likely hadn't spoken english for a while. He turns around and looks at the television.
“Where am I and how am I here?” He asks no one in particular.
Hello Dazai Osamu! I brought you here to react to your past! Your past classmates and professors are from the time after the troll incident.
“Troll incident… Oh! Hogwarts. Ah I remember now!" Dazai easily slipped into a more carefree mood.
Please sit down wherever you'd like! I’ll be going through portions of writing. These writings will be formatted like a book told from Dazai’s perspective.
“Hmm. Interesting." Albus hummed to himself.
Once we finish you will all be returned to your timeline. Enjoy! And don't freak out too much!!
“Well then. We’re reacting to my life? What a bore.” Dazai yawned as he stalked over to stand by Blaise.
“Why do we have to react to this worthless mudblood?! Draco or even the Weasleys would be better than this idiot!" Pansy spoke up. Dazai only chuckled in response.
“You'll get used to it” Dazai glanced up from his hands, frowning. It was strange... the half of his face usually hidden behind bandages was open to the cool air. He didn’t let the unusual sensation show on his face. “You’re the one always telling me not to pick at those bandages. Maybe it’ll get infected and I’ll die.“
“Wait, you wanted it to get infected? What happened and when was this Dazai?"
“Well, Hermione-Chan, I don't quite remember what the injury was at the time. Though, I think this was a few weeks before I started attending Hogwarts. And I’m pretty sure I was joking.”
Dazai pouted. “I see the logic in not telling me the purpose of this mission, but also it’s annoying. How am I meant to get information if all I know is you want me to attend this Hogwarts place? I’ll just kill myself for sure. Ah, I read it somewhere. Let me look—” He suddenly reached into his pocket, clicking noisily on a phone. “—something about a killing curse. Hold on—”
The further they read on the more their faces contorted into confusion.
Snape spoke up in a slow and heavy voice, “you…knew of Hogwarts before coming? How? Why did you act surprised when we came to see you?” Dazai simply smiled at him.
“Mission? What mission are you speaking of Mr. Dazai..?” McGonagall spoke.
His smile grew wide.
