You Look Much Better When You Glow

Summary:

You didn't even seem to realize that you were a Little. You knew you were an Omega, and so did Keigo. But he seemed to be the only one that could smell that you were Little. It's going to be a long courtship. Keigo doesn't think there's anywhere else he'd rather be.

Chapter Text

Hawks was, more than anything, shocked that you really didn’t seem to know. But, then again, why would anyone worry? Subclassifaction tests weren’t required for anything, and for good reason. They opened up people to a lot of discrimination possibilities. It was had enough between Alpha, Beta, and Omega, to say nothing of Little, Caregiver or Neutral.

Most Littles happened to be Omega, though Little and Caregiver were less common. And if an Omega was well cared for, they probably wouldn’t have any catastrophic headspace problems. They could have pups, or be given pets to care for if they happened to be a Caregiver. If they were Little, they would probably come across as needier than other Omegas, but would still need all the things like physical touch and time spent, and they could get along fine more or less.

But you didn’t even seem to have a clue.

Hawks had picked up on it instantly. He knew that his nose was a bit stronger than those around him. It was because he was an Alpha and a Caregiver, he was sure. So when he first met you, when you had first interviewed, you had scented Omega, a sweetened smell that made him think of hard candy, and the tiniest little trace of something else.

You interviewed well, and he thought you were a great secretary. You kept up with his appointments. His mail was filed neatly, and you kept the coffee pot going. Your quirk had to do with memory and being able to recall things intensely. It wasn’t much for hero work, but it was useful in keeping Hawks in line.

Hawks wanted to know what that something else he scented on you was. And he did have to give you credit for the fact that you were managing pretty well. It wasn’t obvious unless you knew what you were looking for.

Hawks could see it. He could see it in the way you brightened up when he gave you even the smallest amount of praise. The way that your eyes seemed to sparkle, even when you were blushing, looking down at your hands or the table.

Hey, you did a great job remembering everything for that big lunch order. Everyone got something different! I’m impressed. And you’d mutter back that it was just your quirk or whatever, but he could smell how thrilled you were.

You wore patches, like all Omegas and Alphas. But they only served to mute your smell, make it so that no one could go feral. Everyone could be safe, but he did get the pleasure of smelling happy Omega.

Keigo would do whatever he could then to praise you. He’d give you a conspiratorial little wink in meetings, grinning when your face burned. Your hands would go to your hair, playing in it, messing with it, self soothing measures. Not uncommon for a Little, either.

Gradually, he found that you would be closer and closer to him. Your desk was supposed to be outside his office, a neat little space that you had decorated with your favorite color. There were also a few tiny stuffed animals and other decor that reflected your favorite animated show. A classic, to be sure, and one that wasn’t entirely absurd for a Caregiver or a Neutral to like. But Keigo found how excited you’d get when someone asked you about it, how’d you’d practically vibrate in your seat.

It was fun to give you a little trinket or a whatnot in that theme. You especially liked the tiny plastic figures, and more than once, he’d caught you full out playing with them. He might have started leaving his door open, saying it helped circulate the air. Really, it afforded him these moments to watch you. To see you making the toys dance, putting them next to each other in different configurations. You nearly glowed with delight, and Keigo couldn’t resist the pleasure of letting himself watch you. You would giggle faintly to yourself. Of course, every time you were deep in play, someone would walk in, and you’d jump, sitting up straight. You’d blush furiously, clear your throat.

No one would have cared if they had known you were Little. Hell, some of them would have been as thrilled as he was. But you couldn’t tell anyone else something you didn’t understand yourself. He would feel himself feeling downright bothered that you had been disturbed, made to feel embarrassed. It always threw you off for the rest of the day, made you quieter, made you shrink into yourself.

Keigo hated that. You were such a sweet girl, and your joy was infectious. So when you weren’t happy, others couldn’t help but notice. You couldn’t verbalize it though, obviously. It was hard for him not to snap and snarl at whoever disrupted you. Especially when they had to speak to him in his office, and would step in, looking at him quizzically as they pointed subtly at you over their shoulders.

Didn’t matter, Keigo told himself. After all, he’d get you settled soon enough. He’d get you to a place where you’d have lots of space to have fun. Thinking about it made him feel nearly dopey, his heart fluttering in his chest. You could build a nest and invite him in, and the two of you could snuffle. He could tell you were dying for touch, desperate for it. He could almost taste it in the way you trotted after him, a lost little duck.

Sometimes if the two of you had to leave the office for an errand, maybe an offsite meeting, he could tell you were on the brink of reaching for his hand. Especially when it came to crossing streets, and he made a big show of stopping and looking both ways, double checking before he’d cross or allow you to cross. He could tell from the way your arms would flinch, almost reaching for him. You’d held up stuffing your hands in your pockets, or gripping the straps of of your work bag over your shoulder.

Keigo knew it in the way that sometimes you were simply grumpy. Tired and ornery, he would think as you scowled at your computer screen, not really typing. Usually came around about a half hour after lunch.

So your desk was meant to be outside his office, but somehow, Keigo had coaxed you into working from a table next to his desk. It started with him saying that he needed you to transcribe a few audios from an interrogation he had. But it was awfully private, and he’d feel a lot better if he played it for you in his office.

You gave him a strange look. You mumbled that you could have worn headphones, but Keigo countered with something about not having to send it via email and risk a hacking that way. You maybe didn’t quite buy it, but then Keigo threw in the bribe.

“Oh, I also bought you one of those Squish Marmallow thingies. They just released them for your show, right You didn’t get any yet?”

“Squishmallow?” you didn’t seem to realize that you were bouncing on your toes. Your hands came to claps in front of you, just under your chin. “Which one?”

“I don’t really remember exactly.” he chuckled nervously, rubbing the back of his head. “Come and look at it.”

And so you nearly skipped into his office, gasping with joy when you had seen two large Squishmallows, both the main characters from your show. You squeaked and ran to them. Hawks leaned in the doorway, arms crossed as you picked them up, hugging them. You were gushing at him, thrilled, launching into their names again, how much you loved them. Thank you, sir! Keigo smiled and murmured that you were so welcome, sweetheart. You looked around at his office, saw the table set up with a brand new laptop. There was the cutest chair with it too, in your favorite color, with one of the cat paw shaped cushions you’d been aching for. You stared.

“Is that okay?” Keigo asked.

“You didn’t have to… I mean… I don’t…” you set the toys back down on the couch he had in his office. Without thinking, you threw your arms around his waist. Keigo’s heart skipped a beat, because now you were scenting happy Omega, but also happy baby, and the mix was intoxicating. He smiled down at you, bending to kiss your forehead.

“I thought you deserved it. You work so hard. We’ll clear away your old computer and move all this back to your desk in a few days. But in the meantime, we can work like this.”

A few days stretched, because there was always a reason why it was just easier for you to stay in the office. You could relay phone messages much quicker. You could take notes from virtual meetings.

You did point out that you were supposed to be screening visitors for him, Mr. Tamaki, sir. He shook his head firmly.

“No, if someone is going to come in here and cause trouble, I want to see them before things get too deep.” you shrugged and agreed with him. He leaned into you, his lips dangerously close to your ear.
“Besides, sweetheart, I thought I told you to call me Keigo.”

“Yes sir,” you whispered. “Yes, Keigo.”

It wasn’t really what he wanted you to call him. But, by God, it was a start. So you cleared your throat, your cheeks so deliciously warm, you looked so precious and sweet. Keigo wasn’t sure if he should fall to his knees, ready to worship every inch of you, or pick you up and hold you against his chest, wings wrapped around you, safe and warm.

Keigo could tell when you were getting cranky after lunch. He caught the way that you’d rub at your eyes. The way your eyelids would drag down. He’d start by dimming the lights, claiming that the big light was just too much sometimes. Then he’d sit down on the couch, put one of your puffy toys in his lap, and switch on the television. He would always claim that it was for work purposes. He had to keep up with current events and the possibility of villain attacks from all over.

But he never turned on the news. Instead it was that show of yours. As soon as you heard the intro music, you were hooked. It was kinda cute, Keigo thought, that you were almost hynotised by it. You would let yourself be drawn towards the couch, saying you could sit with him just for a little bit, maybe just one episode or something.

From there, it was easy enough to get you to lay down. Your head would be in his lap, your arms around your other toy. You’d be asleep in about fifteen minutes. It wasn’t the kind of nap he thought you needed, not a good deep one. He could tell you weren’t relaxed enough, and Keigo bet he could get you down in five minutes flat if he could get you to take a pacifier and lay on your belly in his lap so he could rub your back or play with your hair.

It’ll come, Keigo told himself. He just needed to be patient, even though it was so frustrating. At least you spent the day in his office, and even if he couldn’t be there, as was too often the case, he knew he could leave you an agenda and you’d do everything he wrote on it. Including eating the lunch he made sure was there. No more candy bars and bubbly sodas for lunch for you, he decided. He always packed something yummy, and he found you were way more likely to happily eat your veggies if he did the bento thing and cut them into cute shapes or even used a cute toothpick.

That Alpha voice in the back of his mind had more or less claimed you as his. Especially when he realized that you had been the one to take his scarf, the ancient ratty one that was more or less threadbare. Keigo knew that his scent was embedded into the garment. He loved the thought of you laying in your little nest with it, and he wondered if it was just near you, or in your hands? Did you bring it close to your face, taking in deep sniffs of him as you drifted to sleep, your thumb in your mouth.

You were a thumb sucker. It was cuter than hell, but it made the Caregiver voice in his mind restless. Germs, he thought, bad for your teeth, make you sick. What you needed was a pacifier. Your thumb went to your mouth whenever your were almost asleep, or even when you were deep in thought. Usually, you could stop yourself from really sucking it if you were laying down in his lap. You were biting on the tip of your thumb.

“No thank you, sweetheart.” he said whenever he caught you, carefully taking your wrist and putting your hand down. “Fingers don’t go in mouths.”

“Stop it.” you would hiss at him, yanking yourself away from him. “I don’t need you to do that.”

“Then quit putting your fingers in your mouth, baby.” it was the first time he called you that. Sweet heart was his go to, and he figured it was because that could be a term of endearment for any age. But ‘baby’ especially in the tone he was using… it made your brow furrow, made you look flustered and confused, You weren’t sure if you wanted to stamp your foot or ask him what the hell he thought he was doing, or whisper an apology.

“I’m not a baby,.” you ended up saying stoutly.

“Right, and that’s why you won’t be putting your fingers in your mouth anymore.” you nearly threw the ink pen you were holding at him. Instead, you turned your back to him, busying yourself with a pile of files he knew for sure didn’t need anything done with them, but he could tell you were trying to collect yourself.

Finally, you grabbed an armload of the files and huffed to the filing cabinet. They did need to be put away, so this was actual work. Keigo felt guilty for a bit, realizing that you were actually upset. No, he reminded himself, can’t bend whenever she gets upset. She’ll never trust me, she’ll think she’s runs the show.

When you sat down at your laptop, you were still upset. But you didn’t seem to want to acknowledge it. He was going to have to respect your boundaries, he reminded himself. He was going to have to be okay when he didn’t like your boundaries. That was part of courtship. At lunch, you told him in a clipped voice that you didn’t want to eat in the office, thank you. You’d go somewhere else.

“No,” Keigo said gently.

“Yes,” you snapped. “You don’t tell me what to do. I don’t need you to do that. You’re just trying because I’m an Omega and that’s not fair, Keigo! It’s not!” your crossed your arms over your chest, and you probably thought that you looked firm. You didn’t though, you looked adorable in your little pout.

“Enough,” an Alpha command. You whined, an acknowledgement, and you scented submission, but also upset and tired and needy. “Come here,” he pushed his chair out from the desk. You dragged yourself over to him, trying hard not to cry. You kept your arms crossed. Keigo reached out, gripping your hips and pulling you to stand between his open knees. You grumbled, just barely letting him keep you from falling.
“You’re tired.” Keigo declared.

“So what?” you snarled. “You’ve never just been tired?” tears were sparkling on your eyelashes. Part of Keigo wanted to laugh, and part of him wanted to coo at you, looking so very heartbroken.

“Shh,” he cupped your cheek, his thumb rubbing your cheekbone. “You should lay down, baby.” you opened your mouth to protest, but Keigo shook his head. You felt frustration bubbling up inside of you, and to your shame and shock, tears were spilling down, hot and too obvious and only serving to make you even more pissed off.
“Oh my love.”

“I don’t want to.” you choked out in a breathy voice. He made a sympathetic sound as you went to wipe your nose and eyes on the sleeve of your shirt. Keigo stopped you with a click of his tongue. He snatched a few of the tissues from the box on his desk. You locked eyes with him as he held them to your nose, telling you to blow. You hated that you did it. Hawks said nothing as he threw the mess in the trash.

“I’ll turn on my baby’s show.” he tempted.

“But I’m not a baby,” you insisted. Keigo didn’t say anything, standing up, his hands under your ass. You startled, locking your legs around his waist. Keigo parked it on the couch, setting you in his lap, letting you rest your head on his shoulder, breathing slowly, with only a tiny sniffle here and there. Keigo took off your shoes, a pretty pair of slide on sandals. He had realized long ago you never wore shoes that required laces. He wondered how often your shoes came untied and how often it irritated the hell out of you.

Keigo untangled your hands from behind his neck and laid you out on the couch, one of your stuffies under your head for a pillow, the other in your arms. Your eyes were almost closing even as he settled you over with a blanket.

He’d been buying so many blankets lately. He wasn’t sure what sort of texture or fabric you’d like. He wanted to make sure as soon as he figured it out, he was going to have plenty of those blankets for you. For your nest, for you to have a blanket for nap time. For if you even got a little chilly. Todays blanket was sinfully soft, and you pulled it towards your face instantly, nuzzling it.

Oh, Keigo thought, a spark of excitement igniting at the pit of his stomach. Oh she is dropping into headspace. There was some apprehension there as well. How deep would you go? Would you be scared? Was he prepared?

Keigo always made sure that you were taken home at the end of the day, whether or not he was inthe office. He didn’t like the thought of you, his Little Omega, his darling, his baby, riding public transit. What if you fell asleep and missed your stop? What if someone made you uncomfortable? What if you dropped your bag and no one helped you?

If Keigo didn’t drive you home, someone else in the agency did.

Tonight though, it he was right, and the goosebumps that had broken out across his skin told him he was spot on, you weren’t going home. That wouldn’t be safe. You’d be going home with him, and he was going to keep you safe and snug and when you came out of things…Keigo was sure that you were going to be his.

You were asleep in moments, but it made Keigo feel uneasy instead of pleased. Your thumb was tucked between your lips, and he figured he’d just let you have it. You’d have a paci soon enough, he thought. He hadn’t known what you’d like best, so he’d gotten several with slightly different shapes, and firmness. And they were all so cute! Some were decorated with sparkles and had princess crowns, or with stars and moons that would glow in the dark.

But right now, you were asleep, and Keigo was sure that when you woke up, thing were going to be different.

It happened quicker than he thought it would. It was going to make things difficult, he thought to himself when he saw you jolt awake, looking down at your lap. Keigo was out of his chair and walking to you in seconds, breathing hard and heavy.

“Hey, you’re okay,” he knelt next to the couch. In a second, he saw and smelled the problem. “Oh, you must have been sleeping so good, huh?” he said in the gentlest tone he could. “You have a little accident, sweetheart?”

“I’m sorry!” you blurted. “I have no idea…I never would have…” your eyes were tearing again, and you were shaking. Keigo made a shushing sound as he pulled the blanket away from you. You whined, your skirt clinging to your legs.

You almost never wore pants, he knew. You liked long skirts and dresses. Maybe other people thought it was because you just loved feeling dressy, and that was part of it. The other part was that it was quicker to go pee that way. Your hands came and covered your face.

“I’m going to fix it.” he promised. “You’re fine, love. It’s my fault, I didn’t have you go potty before I laid you down. Don’t cry, no one is upset with you, honey bunny.” he was reaching for the small duffle bag he had tucked discreetly by the couch.

Just in case, he’d told himself. He pulled out the diaper, the packet of wipes, the change of clothes. You peeked through your fingers, then stiffened. You were shaking your head frantically, voice frozen.

“Stop that,” the sweet Alpha command. He gave your thighs a little squeeze. “Nothing is wrong. I’m going to fix it.” he reached for your panties, saturated and embarrassing. You thought that you were going to die. If only the floor would open and swallow you whole.
“We should get a wipe warmer, shouldn’t we?” he mused as he opened the packet of wipes and pulled out a few.

Why would he need that unless he thought this was going to be a common event. He parted your legs and wiped the urine from your groin with a clinical air. He got you to lift up a little bit, staring at the ceiling, mortified, as he wiped your bottom too. He laid out a diaper, and powdered you before taping you in with a clinical air.

“I don’t want to wear a diaper.” you managed.

“Yeah, but until you show me you can handle big girl panties, I think this is for the best.”

“Don’t talk like that.” you begged. Keigo didn’t say anything as he pulled on the sweat pants, then sat you up and pulled a tank top over you, before getting you into one of his hoodies. It was nearly down to your knees, and you were able to make sweater paws out of them, calming down a little bit.

“Let’s go home honey bee.” he said, standing up with you on his hip. He grabbed your purse, tossing it over his own shoulder. You buried your face in his neck. Others were still in the office, and you didn’t want to have to face them. So much was bubbling inside of you.

“I peed on the couch.” you squeaked. He shook his head as he carried you to the elevator. If anyone in their offices, at their own desks, noticed, they didn’t say anything. And maybe no one else cared.
“I peed my pants!” you gripped his shirt in your hands.

“It’s okay.” he swayed back and forth as he waited for the elevator. “No one’s mad. It’ll be cleaned. You moaned, humiliated and uncertain what you should think or do. Hawks bounced you a big as he made sure his phone was in his pocket, was grabbing his keys. When he got to his car, he set you in the front seat, buckling you in. He leaned over you, stroking your cheek again.
“You’re fine, I’m here.”

“I don’t know how I feel about this.” you confessed. “Can you please take off my diaper? Please? Keigo?”

“Oh, no, no precious.” he shook his head. “You had an accident, and that’s okay. But that means you’re going to need to wear a diaper.” it was pushing it, he knew that. But he also knew a Little who had an accident was primed to have another. And he didn’t feel like having to clean piss out of his car seats when he could be giving you snuggles.

“I didn’t mean to.” you promised.

“No one thinks you did.” he kissed your forehead and hurried to his side of the car. He turned on the engine, watching you in the seat. You were squirming, looking shocked when your diaper crinkled under your sweats. Your buried your face in your hands again.

Once he got to his place and parked, he hurried to get you out. He had his keys in his hand again. It was easy to unlock the door. He’d bought this apartment after you’d hired in. His old place was fine, but it was so modern. It had such steep stairs, and glass counters that were very expensive, but he was sure that you’d end up needing stitches.

This place was much better. There was the perfect room to be your nursery and nest room. He’d already bought fairy lights to string up. The change table was stocked with diapers, and the cutest little outfits he could find.

“Let’s go to nest.” he suggested to you when he closed the door behind himself. You nodded, looking around with interest. When he opened the door, you gasped, your eyes lighting up the same way when he gave you a compliment.

The walls were painted in your favorite color. There was the king size nest bed, and the sheets were themed after the main characters again. There was a hammock full of stuffed animals, because once Keigo started, he couldn’t stop. There was a rocking chair in the corner.

“You did this for me?” you breathed, eyes wide.

“Of course.” he nuzzled your hair. “My baby deserves the best.” he set you down, watching as you dove into the pile of blankets. You were moving them around, weaving together a nest easily. Keigo sat down, legs in a pretzel as he watched. You would stop now and then, looking over your shoulder at him, or peering over the wall of the nest. He always gave you a wide, reassuring smile. You seemed to calm as you finished the nest.

“Come here,” you murmured, arms out stretched. Keigo’s heart soared as he climbed in and laid down. You burrowed into him, your fingers wrapping around his shirt. Keigo said nothing, letting his wings wrap around you, an extra layer of protection. He reached around the pillows and gripped the toy he’d left there. It was a soft and fluffy giraffe. He had the most inquisitive sewn on eyes, and the cutest spots on him.

He tucked the toy into your hands, rewarded when you snuggled into it. You were purring, a sweet Omega sound, even sweeter because you were just a baby. Keigo pissed your forehead, both your cheeks. Your eyes dragged open and you gave him a soft smile.

“You’re so sweet.” he sighed. “Isn’t this better? You’ve needed this for awhile, but you didn’t know. I shouldn’t have let it go on for so long. I’m sorry, precious, Daddy’s sorry.” it hung between the two of you for just a heartbeat.

“Daddy,” you agreed in a watery voice. Keigo melted into the nest. How much better could this be? You’d come to his home, you made a nest. You were Little, and he could tell now how much your Little space matched his Caregiver space. Clicked together. Compatible, something inside him settled.
“Daddy’s here,” he said warmly. His hand rubbed your back before trailing down to your diaper and giving it a squeeze. “And you’re dry. Good jump.” he nuzzled you, pleased when you giggled.

It was easy for Keigo to shift you. He laid mostly on his back, with you resting on his chest. Your ear was pressed to his chest. Keigo rubbing your back, pleased when you fell asleep with your giraffe. You rubbed it against your mouth, and Keigo could have kicked himself for not putting a binky in your mouth right away.

There’d be time, he told himself. He marveled at how deeply you were asleep. He closed his own eyes, thinking of all that was coming. In a flash, he saw you wetting your diaper, gasping with it, the diaper swelling between your thighs. He saw you between his legs, sucking on his cock while he rubbed the gland at the back of your neck that made you go so limp for him, ready to do whatever he told you to. He saw himself bringing you home all kinds of treats, anything to make his baby happy.

Yes, Keigo thought, so much was going to happen for you.

“Because you’re my baby,” he said out loud. You stirred on his chest, but settled quickly with a cuddle. It had all gone much better than Keigo anticipated.
