Work Header

You'll remember this company of mine for months

Summary:

Max dragged the leash upwards, pulling the exhausted boy to climb up. Oscar wasted no time in seeking warmth, nuzzling his head on his chest as he curled on him.

The professor laughed softly, embracing the trembling figure and pulling him close, before stroking his back.

“I’m not cruel, Oscar.” he began, his voice a soft lullaby, pacifying Oscar further in his drowsy haze. “I simply care too much about the fruits my students bear.”

He kissed his head, then his temple.

“And if I have to sell my soul to cultivate such a prosperous land, then so be it.”

Work Text:

The sound of the bell rang over the hall as if announcing an execution.

Absolute silence reigned, as everyone held their breaths in anticipation.

Oscar tiredly stared at the door, head nestled on his folded arms over the table as he waited for their new professor to enter. The fatigue from his previous classes was catching up to him, eyes momentarily closing before opening in a rough jerk in a constant routine.

Besides him, Lando was locked in a heated discussion with Alex who sat a seat above them, enthusiastically revealing everything he knew about their professor despite the surrounding stillness.

“I swear to God Alex, that man is worshipped by the Dean himself!” he whispered enthusiastically.

“Wolff laughed alone in the entire office, from what I heard from Webber’s gossip with Räikkönen in econ. The man’s interview was done in just an hour- an hour, Alex! They served him tea twice, once with brownies and the other time with cake, I think?”

He scratched his head over the memory, glancing towards the closed door.

Alexxx, they’re literally serving him cake for choosing THEM! The university! Toto literally worships the floor this man works on, you can NOT make this up.”

Alex finally looks up to him, closing his previous notes on partial derivatives. He pinches the bridge of his nose and rubbed over it repeatedly, before giving him a tired smile.

“Lando, I love you to bits, You know that, right?” Lando eagerly shakes his head, chirping an affirmative.

“I will listen to all your findings after this class, when the worst has come and gone. Right now-” he yawns, “-I do not have it in me to know more about whatever pass he got for his dogs, or his hot-shot TA when he might just squeeze in a pop-quiz the moment he comes in.”

Lando rolled his eyes. “You’ll pop back up in the top 5 if push comes to shove, Alex. You’ll survive. Besides, Osc is dead to the world. Who am I supposed to bless my existence with, if not someone in great need of a divine intervention from God himself? ”

It was Alex’s turn to roll his eyes over his exaggerated theatrics. But before he could breathe out a fitting rebuttal, the door opened with a loud bang.

Any hushed whispers dared spoken in the fragile quietness of the hall died down.

A man stepped inside without a glance to the awaiting audience, a black laptop bag slung over his shoulder under watchful eyes.

He was dressed modestly; a crisp, white shirt stretching over the expanse of his torso, the sleeves rolled over, paired with ironed, black slacks. Equally dark oxfords completed his look, sharp taps echoing in the hall as he makes his way to the table in the very middle, dirty-blonde hair swaying with each step.

Behind him, another man of smaller figure comes in quickly, yet there was a lack of composure with his hurried speed, in comparison.

A stack of papers was balanced in both his hands, which threatened to fall from their towering bundle. Dressed in a cozy beige linen shirt with matching loose white pants and wild, brown curls, he looked softer, more at home than the faint intimidation the other radiated.

After putting down his bag and directing the other on the position of the paper stack on the table, did he finally take his place on the podium and turn his attention to the hall.

Oscar sat up a little, burning curiosity overpowering lingering fatigue in his presence.

It felt like the temperature of the lecture room dropped upon being subjected to the man’s frosty gaze.

His voice held an even colder, glacial edge.

“Morning. I do assume you’ve heard about me from the chatter before, so I’ll refrain from spending too much time on pointless introductions.”

As if a script meant to be followed, the younger man accompanying him wordlessly moved his place towards his side and leaned at the board behind him. His head hung low, arms crossed behind his back.

“We have the entirety of the semester to know each other anyways, so preliminary information will suffice just fine.”

His gaze swept once over the auditorium.

“I’m Max, Max Verstappen. In class, “Sir” or “Professor” works just fine. I taught PhD students exclusively in ETH Zurich before, So it’s my first time rodeo with undergrads like yourselves currently.”

He chuckled with his teeth, eyes glinting under the bright lights, basking his hair in a warm glow.

His companion didn’t move an inch on his side, obediently looking down, as Max continued briefing the class on his modus operandi.

Oscar sat silently, hands twitching with the rapid onslaught of information. Lando on the other hand, nudged his sides with his elbow. “I used to think no one can beat Carlos in looks, but this man proved me massively wrong, Osc.”

He glanced at his Oscar’s scowl, and let out an offended, low gasp. “What? Low stubble, fleshy lips, blue eyes, tall height, nice hair- I can go on for ever, why are you looking at me li-”

“You couldn’t keep it in you until after class?” Oscar hissed. “What if someone hears it in this silence, Lando? You talk so loudly, you’re going to drag us into a scandal these days.”

“Me-?” Lando clutched his chest, betrayal swirling in his eyes. “Lord forbid we take our head out of this mathematical gutter and touch grass?”

Unbeknownst to them, the room had gone painfully silent, Max and his companion witnessing their argument like everyone else.

He looked over to Alex above, who hid his face with his hands as if to erase his existence, waiting for the boy to look over to him, waiting for him to meet his eyes.

When Alex finally did, he flinched upon seeing Max’s undying stare at him. The professor slowly tilted his head towards the bickering duo, indicating to him to intervene.

Alex gulped, shakingly leaning down towards Oscar and Lando. “Um, guys”, he whispered with a sense of urgency, tapping their shoulders hurriedly. The men paused, confused over his intervention, only to see a trembling figure pointed downwards.

There at the podium, Max stood with his head supported on interlocked fingers with his elbows resting on the podium, staring patiently at their scene along with the rest of the hall. His companion too, had finally lifted his head and observed the commotion, emerald eyes twinkling.

“You, 16th on the 3rd row. Stand up.” He pointed his finger towards Oscar.

“Me-? But sir, it was hi-” he nervously stuttered out, desperate hands moving to point towards Lando.

“That’s not what I asked, and I hate repeating. You would’ve known, had you been paying attention, that is.” Max calmly replied, shaking his head. “Stand up here right now, or outside this door-” he pointed towards the exit, “- the choice is yours.”

Shakily, Oscar stood up with his hands meekly joining over the other at his front, as he hung his head low in shame.

“And you, Lando Norris.”, he turned his attention towards a pale Lando, momentarily glancing at the student information sheet below. “Frankly, your grades are an insult to those who came before me, including men of moderate calibre like Sainz.”

Shame and blood rushed to the boy’s cheeks, making him look down at the sudden wave of embarrassment, lips starting to wobble.

“I have low starting hope as it is from you, so I’m not horrifically shocked by such an attitude.” He shrugged with a tilt of his head, a crueler edge showing in his brutal words.

“Though, for starters, I did expect some level of decency to not reduce my entire impression on appearances, especially in front of this class. My bad, I guess.”

Max looked back at Oscar.

“Piastri, your record is still salvageable thankfully. If my assumption on your intellect is correct, my advice for you at least would be to not indulge in useless conversations like these when I’m physically here, in front of you and speaking.”

Oscar stood silently with fists clenched to the point of bleeding, giving a faint, curt nod.

“I can’t see your nods, Oscar, if you did hear me. Also, you may sit down now.”

That prompted Oscar to shake his head with renewed strength one more time, before flopping back at his seat. He took a deep breath, rubbing his eyes repeatedly as if to delay the inevitable tears of humiliation.

“I told you, you fool.” he whispered to Lando, who sat with the quietness of the dead. “I told you.”

Max smiled for the first time upon entering this class, scanning the expanse of the hall.

“Let it be a lesson for all of you for this semester and possibly beyond, to not do the very thing which I specifically told you not to, especially when I cleared it out 5 minutes before.” His booming voice echoed firmly over the walls.

He craned his neck to finally check the time and sighed, before unexpectedly looking over his companion’s figure.

“One last thing: before we finally begin today’s class, I want to introduce one more who’ll be as integrated in these lectures as I am for the upcoming months.”

He gestured towards the man in a quick movement. “My TA, Charles Leclerc.” He softened his voice unexpectedly, speaking directly to him now. “Charles, please look up.”

Charles finally looked up towards the hall and gently smiled at curious stares alike, waving lightly.

“He’s in his final year, also a PhD student. So I do assume when I’m unexpectedly not available, Charles will smoothly handle all your queries with a similar efficiency as mine.”

Finally, he connected his laptop to the HDMI-cable without further pauses, cracking his knuckles and picking up a nearby chalk.

“Now, for those with textbooks, turn to page 81: Heat Engines, 2nd Law of Thermodynamics. Related homework would be given after a short pop quiz before this lesson ends.”

The chortle Alex let out sounded louder than all the groans of the hall itself.

⛓️ ݁ ๑˖ .⋆ ✺‧₊˚.

The days blended into a familiar routine, the fast pace of the Engineering class breaking through the otherwise gradual speed of Oscar’s other electives.

However, the lingering memory of Max’s humiliation always found a reason to creep up on him, as if in the 2 weeks they have known each other, the Professor had made it his daily goal to make an embarassing mess of him.

From constant public-call outs in class, to mocking grievances on every bad test accompanied by Charles’ pitiful glances, each day was another painful story to be written, one whose draft was something Oscar didn’t write nor wished for.

Even Lando was left safely out of Max’s radar despite minor discrepancies. But truth be told, Lando was no different than a wandering ghost in his classes, mouth clamped shut after their very first interaction.

It all took one more bad test for Oscar’s wishes for survival to wither away, and consult the professor himself.

⛓️ ݁ ๑˖ .⋆ ✺‧₊˚.

He found his way to Max’s office, staring at the door for the past few minutes. Outside, the sunset had made the sky darken to a reddish hue, Jupiter twinkling rapidly from the large window behind.

In his hands, a crumpled test was clenched tight, moist from its edges unlike his faintly blotched cheeks. He took a deep breath, and knocked precisely thrice. When he finally heard his Dutch rasp echoing through the wall, Oscar stepped inside.

Max was working on his laptop, rimless rectangular glasses perched on his nose with a stack of papers and books near him. His black coat draped neatly over his seat, while Charles rested on the couch on the far side comfortably, a book in his hand and a pen in the other.

What caught Oscar’s eye was the sleeping brown and blonde dachshunds on a baby-blue dog bed, near the couch Charles' occupied.

Both of them looked up at the visitor, surprise evidently falling on their faces.

“A bit late for you to come here now, Piastri. But do take a seat here, please.” Max gestured towards the two seats in front of him.

The boy crossed the threshold in small steps, thanking him politely before taking a seat. His eyes glanced towards the dachshunds, their soft breaths permeating the air. That’s the pass Alex was talking out, apparently.

“The blonde one’s name is Leo, the other is Nino. They came with me, from Zurich.” Max gently explains, snapping Oscar’s focus back to him. He smiles, and tilted his head. “Although, I do suppose you came to see me, yes?”

Oscar blushed at the subtle tease, nodding.

“Um, I’m not sure where to start…”, he nervously began, eyes darting to his crumpled test.

“Oh, that’s easy”, Max chuckles, closing the lid of his laptop and setting it away. “Last week’s failed test on Entropy, just like your friend, Norris. Let’s start with that, for now.”

He lifts his open palm in the space between them, beckoning him to give the paper to him.

“That bad, hm?” he absentmindedly murmured while unfolding the crumpled mess, thumb tracing the moist edge of the paper, pausing for a moment.

He looked over Charles, whistling to get his attention. “Charlie, can you come here for a moment, please?”

Max looks once over Oscar, a quick glance before moving on to Charles’ awaiting figure.

He whispers in his ear, his voice hushed for Oscar’s prying ears.

Whatever he said made Charles giggle as he nodded, leaving the room with a low click of the handle.

Silence blanketed the office.

Max skimmed over red circles and scribbled words while soft snores and human sniffles drifted through the air.

“You’re losing marks equally on nuances and general content alike.” he spoke finally, setting the wrinkled test in front of them. He points towards the first question. “You’re still confused over the difference between a closed system, and an isolated system, for starters.”

His fingers wander towards the text a few lines below, under Oscar’s red-rimmed eyes.

“Here, you’re mixing over the differences of cycle processes between reversible and irreversible reactions, when it’s plainly written in the textbook, the presentation, handouts, my own notes: everything, about their distinction.”

Max snaps his gaze back at Oscar's still form, narrowing his eyes.

“How do you not manage to remember this when it’s written in four different places is beyond me, Piastri.”

Every later clarification was given with a sharper edge, condescension dripping with every word. It wasn’t until Charles finally came back, a bag of 2 steaming cups of hot coffee and a small box of brownies did Max toned down and Oscar finally breathed in this brief moment of respite.

“Thank you, Charles.” Max mused fondly, as the TA distributed the contents of the pack evenly amongst the two. “Whatever shall I do without you, I wonder.”

The TA's melodious laugh broke through the tense atmosphere of the room, unrestrained.

“It’s nothing, I was already getting bored annotating and all.” He grins, before turning towards Oscar who shrank back at the unexpected attention.

His eyes softened as he took in the boy’s cowering figure, his voice a soothing breath. “There’s brownies too, milk chocolate ones with caramel on top. I do hope you like them, Oscar.”

He went back to the couch and picked up his book under Oscar’s startled eyes, while Max nursed his coffee.

“Eyes on me Piastri, not him.” he gently chided as he mixed the sugar, making Oscar quickly turn his head towards him.

“Now, how do you want to go about this? Honestly, it’s painful to see you struggling this bad when I can see you’re trying to make a conscious effort to stay awake in class.”

Oscar bit his lip, staring at his coffee while steam warmed his cheeks. “I’m not sure, really”, his voice a quietening whisper.

“What- what do you suggest?”

Max paused, the swirls of the liquid slowing their motion around the plastic spoon. He resumed again, as it never happened.

“If it were up to me, boy”, he grabbed the tissue paper from the paper bag, wiping away splattered drops of coffee, “I would recommend you to come to my office, 2 hours daily on every weekday, till 7.”

Oscar stiffened.

“Sir…are you suggesting a 1-on-1?” He squeaked out, leaning forward abruptly. “I would be taking so much time, that’s not feasible for you, I mean-”

“I think I know what I can handle, and what I can’t; don’t you think, Piastri?”

That shut him up effectively, cheeks burning.

“Next week onwards”, Max began after taking a sip, “you come to me from 5-7. We’ll discuss the contents of the class again, with occasional homework. Charles will be there, maybe you’ll find his presence and involvement less….nerve-wracking than mine. We’ll go over where you lack side-by-side, so when the mids do come, at least you won’t be failing horribly like your friend there.”

Chilling, cerulean eyes find hesitating brown ones, observing the range of emotions on Oscar’s face.

On one hand, such a plan would work enough to save Oscar’s remaining dignity towards his parents and the class, possibly towards Max when he’s certain that Oscar is indeed trying and not slacking off.

But on the other hand, being in such close proximity with the one man who has made his life a nightmare, where the haunting memories of his presence have invaded his dreamscape and desecrated its fragile structure was a risky agreement.

He looked back at his crinkled test, the smudged red marks amidst non-coherent blue scribbles, and then at Max, who sipped his coffee leisurely, content at the present silence.

Clenching his fists tightly before relaxing, he chokes out his final discussion before praying to all that this wouldn’t bite him back. “I can work with this, Professor. I’ll- I’ll come on Monday.”

Max’s smile had all teeths while he set aside his empty cup, nearing the box of brownies towards him.

“You’ll remember this company of mine for months, Oscar.”

⛓️ ݁ ๑˖ .⋆ ✺‧₊˚.

In a month, an amicable relationship had formed between the three.

Every day from Monday to Friday, Oscar would come in dutifully with a bundle of solved papers and books, Charles receiving him with such warmth which Oscar thought was beyond Max’s humanly ability.

The professor would sometimes move them to the office’s couch, patiently going over the lesson again while Charles sat in the loveseat close to Max, always close to Max, observing his teaching methodology carefully.

Even though such help was something Oscar was eternally grateful for, the daily rebukes the professor aimlessly threw around hindered all his attempts to truly enjoy these sessions, and see Max in a different, more positive light.

It was on this ordinary Monday where Max was stuck in his department’s meeting throughout this session, leaving Oscar and Charles together for these two hours.

Both of them lounged comfortably over the opposite ends of the couch.

Oscar revised his current class notes, while Charles steadily typed on his laptop. He looked over the window and saw a dedicated custodial staff-member play with Leo and Nino outside in the university’s gardens, their joyous barks crossing through the glass.

“Leo and Nino, they’re as adorable as they’re energetic it seems”, Oscar absently commented, making Charles pause his work and join him in his current observation.

He was quiet for a moment, no smile gracing his features like it usually would when Oscar would speak to him.

“They are, Max loves them. Says they’re portable enough to go anywhere with him. They’re nice.” he shrugs, moving back to his screen.

It’s now or never, Oscar thought as he bit his lips in hesitation.

“Charles, may I ask you a small question, if you don't mind…?” A soft hum drifted through the air as a reply.

“Why- Why do you like Max so much?” That made Charles look up, the last rays of sunlight creating streaks over his eyes and face. He stared at the boy, with an expression that indicated he was genuinely taken aback by his query.

Oscar hastened to clarify his meaning, afraid if he somehow offended him. “It’s just, you’re I guess the only one who's really, really devoted to his presence…? Not even Wolff can match this, which is concerning for a man like him. ”

His hands twitched, words becoming a subtle stutter.

“He’s nothing short of a demon in class, and even here he doesn’t stop from constantly criticising me in every aspect he could find. So I’m just really, really curious Charles. What do you find in him so likable, something which no one else can see?”

That stutter had quietened down to a hesitant whisper.

Charles looks back at his thesis momentarily, before giving him a warm smile, “Well for starters, he sees me as no other. He’s also my PhD advisor apart from being my employer, he was the one who advised me on the direction of my thesis which already revolved around a topic termed as ‘mad’ by many.”

“In a way, I’m grateful that he doesn’t abandon or neglect me, and indulges me enough that I want to stay with the only one who believed in me, all these years back.”

The explanation Charles gave him contrasted the treatment he received from him, baffling Oscar greatly. Words of his notes started to blur in a sea of thoughts as he looked down in thought, unable to make sense of Max’s problem towards him.

“If you too, stick around him longer like me”, Charles quietly murmured without looking up, “You’ll come to realise why I see him the way he is, Osc.”

Their conversation had ended there, Charles humming a tune to pass the silence. Meanwhile Oscar took one last look at the playing dogs, and resumed his revision.

⛓️ ݁ ๑˖ .⋆ ✺‧₊˚.

Like an arc of the circle coming back, it all took one horrible test to crash down their shared progress.

Max stared at his current test with clinical detachment, yet his left eye twitched perpetually. He massaged his temples, his stare never wandering anywhere but the large “3/16”, written in red.

Oscar sat in front of him, his frame shaking. Never in their shared time together had Max looked so utterly unimpressed. His lips were starting to wobble despite his deep breaths, under Charles’ concerned gaze.

“Max, sir”, Charles whispered tentatively. “Please be gentle with him.”

Max didn’t look up, continuing to examine his test as if it’s a dead rodent under a microscope.

“You’re gentle with those who’re deserving of it”, he states, an undercurrent of rage threatening to take over. “Our boy here is undeserving of anything and everything I could offer.”

He looked over Oscar, his stare penetrating to the fractured marrows of his soul.

“Make me understand, Oscar. What exactly is wrong with you?”

The boy flinched, violent tremors wracking up his body.

“Why did you take a subject like Engineering if your miserable purpose was to fail, and constantly insult my own patience? You should’ve taken such a subject where making a pathetic joke of yourself was expected, not painful to those who can see.”

Max pinched the bridge of his nose harshly, exhaling deeply.

“If you had the courage to ask things in class, like a good, responsible student; we wouldn't be playing this stupid charade where I have to spoon-feed you every single sentence, of every single textbook I could find just for you, like a child who can’t even walk.” he continued, his mocks seeping through the boy's mind like venom.

Oscar’s constraints snapped. Tears cascaded down his cheeks, shimmering under the incoming sunlight from the window blinds, and Max’s harsh stare.

“I’m- I’m trying, I promise you-” he hiccuped amidst his sobs, “I’m trying-”

“Obviously, it’s not enough, boy”, he sneered.

“Progress manifests in practice. Whatever wishes I had hoped for your lost cause have withered into nothingness. I don’t know what to do with you myself, now.”

His words looped in Oscar’s mind, the repetitive berating amalgamating into a horrific caricature, breaking down all his resolve at politeness.

He wiped his face with his sleeve, eyes darkening as they glinted with uncharacteristic murderous intents.

“You’re a bloody, bloody disgrace, Verstappen”, he snarled, figure shaking with unbridled anger, uncaring of Charles’ gasps.

“You think of yourself as some high-God when in reality you’re no less than those who stupidly think they are one. Your license should be nullified with the way you teach, as if we’re dogs meant to dance at your arrogance.”

He leaned forward, looking at Max's own rage-filled eyes with matching fury. “You lack everything needed for being a good teacher, you’re equally pathetic like me, you sick, sick psycho.”

The silence that followed after threatened to suffocate the two men like a vice around their neck. Max’s expression didn’t change, yet the glint of his eye resembled that of a knife.

“Charles”, Max called out suddenly, calmly, stripped from its previous anger. “Please lock the door and secure the blinds. I don’t want a scandal to leak out for Horner to see.”

Not an ounce of hesitation was seen in Charles, who obediently carried out his command.

Meanwhile Max opened a drawer, rummaging through its contents. He conversationally began, as if they’re discussing the weather, “Tell me, Oscar. If you were to leave right now, how do you plan on fixing your grades?”

Oscar blinked, clearly thrown back at the calmness in his tone.

“I mean- I would search for someone else, someone whom I can be more compatible with.”

Max scoffed, hands drifting towards a familiar, desired object. He looked back at Oscar, a sharp curve stretching his lips.

“Who would you run off to, hm? Sainz?” he purred, tilting his head. “Sure he’s nicer, but equally useless as your own existence. A law school dropout who pursued this field to mathematically calculate the probability at which the universe crushed his dreams. A madman, nothing more.”

He looked over Charles, who stood by the closed door in anticipation. “Come here, sweet one.”

He whispered in his ear, lips lingering over the shell. Charles gasped, a tint of horror swirling in his iris. Yet loyalty overpowered reluctance for a man whose fate was interlinked heavily with his savior.

Nervous eyes darted between the older men.

“What…What are you guys talking about-?” he asked, confusion mixing with fear.

Max finally turned to him, grinning. “I know the perfect way to clear this brain-fog of yours Oscar, and correct this mistake of mine.”

He lifted his arm. Hanging from his fingers was a black collar with a chain leash, draped across his hand.

“I’ve been…waiting to use it at the right time, Oscar”, he whispered lowly. “I don’t make mistakes, but in the rare case I do- such as yourself, I do intend to correct it efficiently.”

Oscar paled at the sight, frantically shaking his head. “No, no, NO- hey, come on now, that’s not- please-”

Max gives Charles a rough jerk of his head. “Bring him to me, by force if necessary. And cover his mouth if he screams, I don’t trust the thickness of these walls. And after this, bring my dogs too, please.”

Charles gripped his arms, the blank expression on his face more terrifying than Max’s madness. He hauled hip upwards, then forced Oscar to kneel on the floor.

Max turned his chair towards him and gripped his throat to secure the collar in place, despite his raw sobs, while Charles took his leave to gather Nino and Leo.

“Please, I don’t want this, Max” he begged, hands fisting his black pants. “I won’t tell anyone about this! I’ll- I’ll do better, but please, please, please Max, don’t do this to me.”

“No, No, Oscar”, he gently tuts as he tugs the leash to force his head up, his lips stretched to form a manic grin.

“I’ve been too lenient with you, never disciplining you when you needed the most. I intend to rectify this mistake of mine, nothing more. This is all for your own benefit, Oscar; don’t you want to succeed, little one?”

The door opened quietly, two excited dachshunds squirming with excitement upon seeing their owner.

“You know what to do, Charles. Give them to me, and adjust him.”

Charles forcefully shoved Oscar underneath Max’s spacious desk, accommodating the hunched figures of the men comfortably, before hugging him tightly. His sobs gained a hysteric edge, crying uncontrollably with his face buried in Charles' chest.

Max’s legs intruded their safe space, the dachshunds wagging their tails easily on his lap, clearly excited to see their master.

“Please don’t cry, Osc”, Charles whispered below, stroking his hair. “You’ll only make it worse for yourself.”

He tearfully lifts his head, cheeks botched to a grim degree. “I don’t want it Charles! Don’t you, don’t you see this madness? He treats us like, like-” the incoming sob broke through his remaining restraints, “-like dogs, Charlie! We aren’t dogs!”

The TA tilted his head, glancing at the dachshunds before coming back at Oscar. This time, pity swarmed in his eyes. “Are we not, Oscar?”

“Chit-Chat’s time’s over, gentlemen.”

Max finally turned his attention below, tugging his leash towards his growing erection, uncaring of Oscar’s panicked breaths.

“Your first trait which I immensely hate and intend to eliminate, is your useless ability to talk, and talk endlessly.” he stated, voice cold. “For the next hour, I don’t want you to think about anything, apart from what I’ve decided for you. Charles, if you may, please.”

Charles sighed, turning Oscar towards himself. He lifted two fingers in front of him, and inserted them in his mouth. “Suck, little one.” he coos. “Be docile, and it’ll all be over soon.”

Oscar unwillingly licked his fingers clean and wet, muffled sobs drifting through their small space.

“You have been with other men, I hope.” A restrained nod. Charles smiled, kissing the crown of his head before extracting his fingers out. “That’s more than enough then.”

Max gripped the back of his head immediately and jerked it towards him.

“The quicker you get this done with, the quicker you can leave, Oscar. It’s mathematically very, very simple.”

Trembling hands unzipped the zipper of Max’s pants, freeing his thick member, while Max reclined back in his seat, opening his laptop.

“For the next hour, I don’t want my cock anywhere but in your mouth, around your tongue.” Rhythmic typing ensues. “You aren’t allowed to utter a word, nor remove it if you care for your academic career, that is”

Taking his thick girth in, and then ensuring it stays there was more painful than the agony of all his successive tests combined.

Behind him, Charles pushed his pants down and loosened him up, his spit acting as a lube for himself. When Charles finally pushed inside, Oscar’s face was squished on Max’s groin, choking him under the desk.

The next hour went dreadfully slow. Oscar’s tongue worked overtime to lick Max’s broad expanse and making him climax with his current constraints, under the Professor’s constant caresses on his hair. His TA on the other hand, drove relentlessly behind him and filled him up fully.

Their shared actions had reduced him to a ragdoll, filled physically to the brim without a care for his muffled wails. How can any thought linger in his mind, be that of rationality or by coercion, when every hole of him was filled for nothing to escape?

⛓️ ݁ ๑˖ .⋆ ✺‧₊˚.

By the time the Sun set, Max had finished his work and was now looking over the sunset solemnly, fingers toying with dark curls.

At last, he pulled himself out with a wet plop. His wet member rested softly on Oscar’s head, while the his face was mushed on Max’s pelvic area. In this haze induced by sexual overstimulation since the past two hours, Oscar dreamily licked Max’s cock in little, kitten licks.

Charles has ceased his constant thrusts, now kissing and licking the sweat from his neck softly without pulling out.

The professor looked down at Oscar’s dazed state, and tugged the leash upwards.

“Awake, you sweet, obedient puppy?”

The boy whined under the sweet praise and hid his face under the dangling cock, making Max coo at such a sight.

“Charles, get us all some water. And preferably something to eat too, please.”

With a lingering kiss, Charles pulled himself out and got out of their cramped space, fixing his appearance before leaving the room.

He tucked Oscar under his chin, and began to hum a familiar tune. In Oscar’s mind, the tune made him travel to a place of endless fields, where two little dachshunds played excitedly together under wishful eyes, before a deep slumber befell on him.

Months of hard work after the midterms made the unimaginable come true, a decent “B” on his finals, a miracle which never crossed his mind.

His gratitude towards Max and Charles exceeded many spheres of imagination, inside and outside of office. For Max and his unorthodox methods had saved his remaining dignity in front of his peers and the Board of Examiners more than what words could express.

And that was okay. Sometimes where theory lacks, physical demonstrations prove to be more efficient in conveying the message across.

A memory drifts back from many evenings before, Charles’s explanation of Max taking them in who needs the most. Like relentless, but merciful rain pouring down over barren lands, forcing its way to pentrate through every crevice, every crack of the soil.

Now, as he nuzzles back in Charles’ arms like a needy puppy, he sighs blissfully upon being surrounded by tender arms and lulling warmth. Charles himself was supported by the softest pillow for his tired head, as stars began to twinkle in the incoming night.

At last, Oscar understood the true extent of Charles’ words, the depth of the man’s devotion.

Steady taps of the keyboard invited him to a familiar haze, a lullaby he has learnt to cherish.

A door opens revealing a staff member; Checo, who poked his head through the opened door.

“Good evening, Professor. The dean wanted to share a file with you, which is in need of a quick review, until tomorrow’s meeting. Should I leave it on your desk, or….?”

Max looked up and smiled, his hand petting the soft head resting on his thigh. “Please leave this file on the shelf beside you. As you know, my dogs- they’re under the table, and might get aggressive if your footsteps disturb them.”

Checo chuckles, nodding his head in understanding as he placed the file at its desired position, and took his leave.

As he walks in the corridor, a familiar bark makes him pause. Slowly turning his head towards the giant window, two familiar daschunds raced each other for a thrown rubber ball.

He stares at them for a moment, puzzled as he glances back at the professor’s closed door repeatedly.

If all the dogs were here, playing in the garden; then which of Max's dogs were underneath his desk?
