Chapter Text
This one shot is a mix of the episode where our two protagonists are buried alive and I took some inspiration from the episode where Kid Danger and Captain man fell in holes at blockbuster while trying to fight Jeff. I really hope y’all enjoy it!
Henry's pov:
I was down in the Man Cave just doing my algebra 1 homework (more like copying Charlotte's algebra 1 homework) with both Jasper and Charlotte.
"Will you stop copying my answers, Henry?"
"Umm copying your answers? Jeez Charlotte I just dropped my pencil right next to your homework. I'm not trying to copy off you. A little trust over here?" I slid my phone out of my pocket and pressed the record button so when I "stretched" my arm over Charlotte, I was recording of all her answers.
Suddenly the emergency alert went off and Charlotte ran over to the computers. Just then Ray came out from behind the sprocket. He was wearing one of his classic Hawaiian shirts and some skinny jeans. "What's the emergency?" He asked while making his way over to the couch.
"There is a robbery happening at the graveyard? At least that's the alert I'm getting. I don't know why someone wants to rob a graveyard but alright."
Jasper chimed in "I have an uncle who once robbed a graveyard."
"Alright, Jasper's messed up family aside, get your gum out," Ray said while thinking of a sick line to say.
"They're digging up bones and causing a fright.... " Ray started.
"So we're blowing this gum to stop it tonight," I finished right before blowing a bubble and transforming into Kid Danger.
"Sick line kid," Ray, now dressed as Captain man, chuckled.
"Call it"
"Up the tube."
Once Captain Man and I made it to the scene of the crime we saw a dug up grave. The coffin was cracked wide open but neither of us wanted to get a good look inside. "Dude you're indestructible why don't you do it?" "You're the sidekick and I'm the super hero. I'm ordering you to do it." I rolled my eyes but picking a fight with Ray wasn't worth it right now. Not in the middle of a mission. I slowly approached the open coffin but when I peeked inside to my relief it was empty. "It's empty Captain." I whispered over to him. "Um Henry" "Yeah what's up big dog?" "There's a floating shovel behind you." "Hm?" "There's a floating shovel behind you." Before I could turn around to see what Ray was talking about a heavy metal object hit me in the shins. "I yelped in pain as I stumbled into the casket. I was about to get up but I felt a large body pile on top of me. "Quit your jobs," a familiar voice barked at us. Suddenly the casket was nailed shut and I could feel it being lifted in the pre-dug hole.
It was pitch black before I squeezed my hand to reach my utility belt and turned on a flashlight. Captain Man and I were face to face with no room whatsoever.
"I think that floating shovel might have been invisible Brad," he said, taking in the moment.
"No Really?!" , I started sarcastically, "I thought it was Jasper's grave-stealing uncle!" I elbowed Ray with as much might as I could for being trapped in such a small box.
Suddenly Ray and I just stared at each other. We could hear the dirt slowly being shoveled back onto the casket. We were just minutes away from being fully buried alive.
Charlotte's pov:
"I think Ray and Henry should have been back my now. I mean it's almost been an hour." I started to worry about the boys while sitting on the couch with Jasper.
"Wait aren't you supposed to be upstairs at Junk'n Stuff?!"
"Please don't tell Ray," Jasper sheepishly answered.
"It's gonna be pretty hard to tell Ray when I haven't seen or heard from him and Henry for almost an hour. "
"Didn't shcwoz install little tracking devices onto the suits that Captain Man and Kid Danger have?" Jasper said while digging into some sushi he got from the auto snacker.
I got up and ran to the computer because, shockingly, Jasper was right. I tracked them and it said that Henry and Ray were still at the graveyard. I started growing worried for them so I devised a plan. "Jasper we need to get to Henry's house. It's only a little walk so when we get there we can get Piper to drive us over to the graveyard. Then we can save Ray and Henry."
"Wait Piper can drive?"
"Dude you know she can. It's been mentioned so many times. The dmv sent it to her by accident so it's perfectly legal."
Jasper and I ran up the tubes to execute my flawless plan.
Pipers pov:
My day was going horribly. I was NOT okay! Jana had made a Twitflash post that got three more likes than the one I made yesterday so I was freaking out. I didn't have anyone to rant to either because my mom was with her tennis instructor, my dad was at work, and my stupid brother was at Junk'n Stuff....the place where he supposedly works.
I decided to make a burger for dinner while coming up with a way to stick it to Jana when suddenly Charlotte and Jasper barged in like psychopaths.
"Heyyyyy Piper," Charlotte said calmly as if she didn't just barge into my dinner time.
"Umm heyyyy Charlotte. What do you guys want?" I then noticed the massive package in Jasper's hand.
"We found this package addressed to you from Captain Man," Jasper said in an overly dramatic voice.
"Really?! Cool I'll open it after I eat my burger," I was excited to receive a package from Captain Man (and especially Kid Danger because he is sooooo cute) but my hunger overpowered that. When I turned back to my plate, my burger was gone.
"Dude! My burger!" I waited all day for a burger and I looked behind me and saw a burger shaped object stuck in Jasper's pants.
"Jasperrrrr," I started in a low growl before I tried to lunge at him. Charlotte quickly pulled me away and said "I think he just wants to see what Captain Man could have sent you."
I turned towards the package and sliced open the top with one of my nails. Inside was a letter and a bunch of weapons along with a giant tool labeled "Anti-Grav". I read the contents of the letter out loud to both of my older brother's friends.
"Dear Piper Hart, we are acknowledging you as the President of the Man fans and that's why we need your help. We trust you as the President more than anyone and we got ourselves in an unfortunate situation. Please help us out at the Graveyard and bring exactly two people with you to help us out."
"Awesome! Captain Man needs our help! Let's drive." I ran to the front door and went out to my mom's car. She wouldn't be needing it anyways. She normally stays overnight with her tennis instructor. Jasper and Charlotte hopped in the back with the box of weapons and before they had time to buckle, I was out on the road.
Ray's pov:
The kid and I were growing more uncomfortable with each passing second and I could tell there was something else troubling him. He is horrible with hiding expressions almost as bad as he is at lying.
"So Hen, I don't think we're going anywhere anytime soon so what's bothering you?" I asked just inches away from his face (not like I had a choice).
"It's really nothing and certainly not something we can fix in this box." Henry said with a pained expression slowly crawling on his face.
"Just tell me kid."
"Okay but it's really not a big deal. I think Brad broke my ankle when I fell in the box."
"When I get Brad he will NOT be seeing the light of day." I was incredibly mad that invisible Brad had managed to break MY kid's ankle.
"Ughh I hope we get saved soon. I hope Charlotte and Jasper even know something happened to us." Henry tried to look up to the ceiling of the box but our faces were just stuck staring at each other. Suddenly I remembered our watches. I pulled my wrist to my face as close as I could and pinged Charlotte's cell.
Charlotte's pov:
Jasper and I were hanging on for dear life in the back of the car while Piper was laughing maniacally.
"I'm glad that note was good enough to convince Piper. I also hope we brought enough weapons for whatever kind of danger Henry and Ray are in," I whispered as quietly as I could to Jasper.
Before he could reply my cell phone started buzzing like crazy in my pocket. I picked it up and answered it. I could see Piper looking at me through the mirror of the car.
"Heyyyy Ray. How's work going bud? You and Hen organizing the Junk okay?"
"Charlotte oh thank god. Henry and I are trapped in a coffin
and are buried alive. You need to come quick. Henry's ankle is broken and we're gonna run out of air."
"Oh my gosh. Are you guys okay?" I whispered this to Ray because I remembered Piper was driving.
"Did I not just tell you everything that happened. Of course we're not okay!" Ray barked at me.
"You're right, you're right. You ask a stupid question, you get a stupid answer. Listen Piper is driving us to the graveyard right now so we'll be there in a short second. I'm sure it won't be hard to find a grave that has recently been disturbed." I noticed Piper look in her mirror again to make eye contact with me.
"The boys are hard at work haha." I had to say anything I could to throw Piper off my scent.
Once we arrived at the Swellview Graveyard Jasper and I ran out to go looking for anything out of the ordinary such as disturbed dirt, a shovel, footprints, etc.
While we were looking around I noticed a small glowing gumball on the ground.
"Dude. Jasper. Dude. It's Ray or Henry's gum ball," I shouted while repeatedly hitting Jasper on the shoulder.
Piper came walking over to us with a few weapons, including a shovel that was in the box.
"Piper I think Captain Man and Kid Danger were buried alive! Look at the dirt right over here."
"Um that's a bit of a reach Charlotte but there's only one way to find out." Piper started digging in the area with the disturbed dirt and Jasper and I watched.
Henry's pov:
"Dude dude," I said with a note of relief and hope in my voice, "I think Charlotte's here with Piper and Jasper. I can hear the digging of a shovel above us."
"Oh thank god kid. We need to get out of here."
My ankle hurt so bad and I knew I wasn't going to be able to walk out of the casket myself. I tried to hide the pain as best as I could but I'm a sidekick not an actor.
"Listen Kid Danger, we're going to get out of here soon and Schowz will help you and fix your ankle." Just then a loud metal clang reached the casket. Ray and I just stared at each other with pure relief and excitement to get out of this uncomfortable situation we had been in for about two and a half hours.
"I'll get the anti-grav!" A muffled voice yelled from above the surface.
"Well it's been a wonderful time spent Captain Man," I said sarcastically towards Ray.
"True that Kid Danger."
Within a matter of minutes we could feel the casket being lifted back out of the ground and a crowbar was hard at work on the nails that had originally sealed the casket shut.
Suddenly a large squeak was made as the casket was being opened slowly. We soon saw three familiar faces. Captain Man was the first to get out and when I tried to get out I stumbled and fell.
"Ow ow ow!" I yelled in a pained voice followed by a hissing intake of breath.
"Kid Danger are you okay!" My sister yelped as she threw her arms around me.
"Oh hello there President of the Man Fans. I think my ankle is just a little hurt but it's nothing I can't handle," I said in a heroic voice while slowly releasing Piper's arms from me. I can't ever let this girl know I'm Kid Danger or else she might just slip into a comma. My sister having a crush on me was not on my bingo card when I signed up for this job.
I felt another pair of arms reach for my shoulders but this time they were the gloved hands of my boss. He reached under my arms and helped me stand up just enough so I could lean on him.
"We appreciate you little girl. Unfortunately we have to get going but your work will not go unrecognized."
Piper smiled a little too hard and dreamily said, "Okay Captain Man. I'll miss you Kid Danger," and with that she blew a kiss in my direction. I felt my lunch instantly come up in my throat but at the same time I was too tired to care that my sister wants to kiss me.
Ray brought me to the nearest set of secret tubes as I winced the whole way. Once I was back in the Man Cave Schwoz had already set up a scanner along with a metal tilt table for me to lay on while he inspected my ankle. I leaned on Ray but when I made the first step I fell down and I instantly cried out in an excruciating amount of pain. I nearly teared up but I couldn't let the others see my crying over a broken bone so I sucked it up but just when I was ready to get back up I noticed I was already in Ray's arms.
"Dude Ray you do not need to carry me." I said while blushing from embarrassment (I am not shipping these two eww gross holy age difference). I mean my boss of all people was scooping me up bridal style because I got hurt on the job.
"Cmon kid you clearly need help." I didn't disagree and let him carry me the ten steps I needed in order to get to the metal tilt table. I stood on it and let Schowz do science. Soon after Charlotte and Jasper came flying down the elevator into the Man Cave. "Henry, Ray, what happened!?" They shouted in perfect unison.
After explaining the whole situation to Jasper and Charlotte we both realized we had an entirely new problem on our hands.
"Invisible Brad...." All five of us said while breaking the fourth wall and staring directly at the side of the room that we never use.
However that was in fact a problem for another day. Schowz was able to science my broken ankle away, Ray and I were no longer buried underground, I developed a new hatred for tight spaces, Charlotte and Jasper survived Piper's driving, Piper got to interact with her favorite hero's, and everyone was pretty happy where they were.
