Back Home

Summary:

Yoongi was exhausted. He didn’t even know how many nights it had been since they’d been far from home. He absolutely loved touring, especially now that their schedule wasn’t as rigid and they actually had time and energy to explore the countries they were in. But he had missed home.

Coming back to Korea was like finally resting after standing for too long. It was like being able to breathe after being underwater. It was simply laying next to Jimin on the couch after weeks of endless work, the kind of peace that settled.

hi everyone ! i'm an avid yoonmin fic reader, but this is the first time i've ever written a fic (probably my last), so please be kind ! :)

Chapter Text

They haven't been back in Korea for long, two days to be exact. On the first day back after the tour Yoongi had gone straight home to spend time with his parents and his cat. He knew his mother was feeding Tang more than enough treats, but he missed him. Even if that little bastard barely acknowledged him once he got home, ignoring him and napping on the couch, undisturbed.

Yoongi opened the door quietly glancing at Tang who only moved his ears around a bit, showing he listened, but wasn't interested enough to move. Leaving his keys on the table near the entrance and smiling softly at his mom, who was sitting on the couch watching some TV.

“I can't believe he’s already forgotten about me.” Yoongi said jokingly pointing at his cat.

His mother laughed, standing up to welcome him home. "Well, I definitely haven't forgotten about you. I'm so glad you're back, son."

She kissed his cheek lightly before saying, "Are you eating? Did you lose weight?"

Yoongi couldn't help but chuckle at his mom, assuring her he was eating just fine. She didn't look very convinced, but decided to accept his answer, replying, “Ok, stay here, I’ll call your dad.”

His mom tried to leave quickly to call his dad to the living room, eager to know more about the tour. But Yoongi could feel the ache in his muscles, he didn't have much energy after traveling for so long. He has been dreaming of his bed since he was inside that airplane. It didn’t matter that it was only two pm. So he stopped her before she could go after his dad, speaking softly "Mom, let me rest. I'll tell you everything tomorrow."

That day was uneventful, mostly spent in his room, he used his free time to play guitar and sleep. Having no energy to interact with anyone, not even touching his phone.

He was still very tired the next day. He barely left his room, only waking up early for a morning run, eating something small at lunch and getting back to his room, only resurfacing it around six pm.

Yoongi knew his family missed him and he had regained enough energy to share more of what happened the last couple of days. They talked over dinner. His parents were thrilled to hear about Bangtan's performance at the World Cup, especially his dad, who was a fan of soccer. Though he didn't say it outright, Yoongi could tell his dad was curious about what happened at the final, whether he met any famous players or how close he was to the field. So, they talked, he made sure to explain in extreme detail the last play that gave Spain the win, even if his dad had watched it at home.

“Come on, enough talk about work.” His mother interrupted their rambling, “How are your friends? Did you go to any interesting places?”

Yoongi turned to his mom enthusiastically, “Everyone is feeling great. Hoba still needs some time to heal, but we are giving him support.” Hoseok has lost his grandma recently and it was a big blow to him. The fact that it happened on the day of a concert was definitely tough on them, all the members all knew her, but of course Hoseok had suffered the most.

“We’ve spoken to his parents, it was such a big loss.” His mother replied, glancing at her husband who only nodded.

Yoongi wanted to keep the conversation light so he simply moved on. “Spain was incredible. As I’ve said for a while, it has always been a dream to go there and visit the Basílica.” He looked at his cat who was sitting near his father’s feet and gestured to him to come closer, with no success.

“Well, I’m happy you had fun.” Her smile was soft with a hint of relief, tours have never been this carefree and his parents worried for him.

Dinner continued with his mom nagging him to eat a little more. All the while Tang was still blatantly ignoring him. It was only after Yoongi bribed him with some tasty treats that his cat warmed up to him again, curling up almost on his lap. Not entirely on top of him, Tang was stubborn and wouldn't give in that easily. Yoongi couldn't help but feel endeared, his cat was adorable and it reminded him of his boyfriend's bratty personality.

Yoongi missed Jimin. His boyfriend was stubborn and would make sure you knew when he was feeling neglected, just like Tang. The younger loved to joke that the cat was their son and had both of their personalities. Yoongi couldn't help but agree. He was cute.

They were going to see each other tomorrow and he couldn't help but anticipate it. Yoongi had seen Jimin yesterday in the lobby, when they said goodbye with promises of seeing each other soon. But, they hadn't spoken all day, his boyfriend was probably sleeping or maybe even gaming, enjoying the time to recharge. They were very similar in that sense, both introverted to their core. Even if they missed each other, sometimes being apart was needed. Although, in his opinion, Yoongi had had enough time for himself, even if it was only 2 days.

The night was calm and quiet. After dinner he played his guitar again, it had definitely become a special interest recently. Yoongi was getting more interested in rock bands and learning guitar only helped him in his job as a producer, so he was investing a lot of time on it. He didn't stop until he felt sleep creep up on him, deciding it was enough.

The next day Yoongi woke up early, still feeling a little jet-lagged, his muscles aching. He stayed on his phone for about 40 minutes, checking bangtan's groupchats as soon as he woke up. Both, the one focused on work with some of the staff and their personal chat for just the seven of them. There wasn't anything important on it, so he mostly spent his time watching cat videos and sending some fishing videos to Jin. Once he noticed almost an hour had gone by he decided it was time to stand up, dragging himself out of bed and rubbing his belly while he yawned. Today was definitely going to be a lazy day.

Yoongi didn't feel like eating breakfast, but he wanted to be a little productive, so after taking a quick shower he headed straight to his home studio to work on some lyrics. The company was already working on a new mini album that would be released next year, all of them eager to put out more songs after being apart for so long.

He worked until it was time to go to the gym, planning to have lunch afterward in case Jimin was awake by then. Yoongi thought of his boyfriend, missing him again. When they parted ways 2 days ago, they hadn't specified what they would do today or when they would meet. So, before leaving for the gym, he messaged Jimin to check if he was already awake.

yoongi-hyung: jiminie, u up? heading to the gym     1:36pm

The older wasn't surprised when he didn't get a reply. Jimin was known to sleep until late afternoon. It wasn't a healthy lifestyle, but he has tried talking to him on many different occasions to no effect. He pushed all thoughts aside and put on his headphones, heading to the gym to focus on his training. That was one of the things he loved most about exercising, it was a time with no distractions, he only needed to focus on one thing and that was getting the move right. It tired his body until there was nothing left but the slight ache in his muscles.

After he was done, heart rate slowed and fully hydrated, he thought of Jimin again. Yoongi wasn't clingy, he just liked his boyfriend's company. The younger made everything around him lighter, he was soft and had such a pretty laugh, it could lift anyone's mood. It captivated him. There was nothing better than to do absolutely anything next to Jimin.

yoongi-hyung: going to the sauna. meet me there if you can     2:14pm

He slipped his phone into his pocket, shaking his head at his own eagerness. Jimin was sleeping, he knew that. It's been two days for God's sake. He did not wait for a reply, nor did he check later to see if he responded. But, it definitely made him a little disappointed when Jimin didn't show up, even if he was already expecting it. He headed straight home for a shower and a late lunch. After a good 20 minutes on the couch watching a random history documentary with Tang on his lap, he got a message.

park jjiminie: hyung, sorry! woke up late :<      3:41pm

Yoongi scoffed, he could see that pout so clearly in his head, his voice just a little whiny as Jimin tried his best to make eye contact with him, so he could persuade him. His boyfriend was so endearing. Jimin had said that as if four pm wasn't his usual wake up time.

park jjiminie: i made plans to see joonie-hyung today     3:41pm

park jjiminie: he asked me to go to his house so we could talk     3:42pm

park jjiminie: think he's stressed     3:42pm

park jjiminie: meet you home around 8?      3:42pm

park jjiminie: love you ♡      3:42pm

Yoongi's chest tightened. It was a known fact that most of BTS relied on Jimin when they were going through hardships. His boyfriend was caring and attentive, but never one to sugarcoat things. He was honest, someone like him wasn't easy to find. Jimin also tended to put others before himself, something he progressively got better over the years, but it still worried Yoongi. Everyone relied on Jimin, he deserved someone who'd do the same for him.

yoongi-hyung: should i order anything?      3:43pm

Yoongi didn't get an immediate reply, but that didn't faze him. Shrugging and getting back to watching his video. Tang meowed for attention in his lap and he softly caressed his fur to appease him. Jimin was probably getting ready to leave for Joon's apartment, he thought, deciding to send his boyfriend his goodbyes just in case.

yoongi-hyung: see you, baby      3:45pm

yoongi-hyung: i love you      3:45pm

Just like Yoongi, his boyfriend craved physical affection, but what he really needed was reassurance more than anything. Hearing others say how much he mattered to them, how amazing his performance had been and how unbelievably beautiful his voice was is what made Jimin feel truly loved. The older only had to wait a few minutes before he got another message.

park jjiminie: no! let's cook      4:01pm

park jjiminie: i miss your cooking      4:02pm

park jjiminie: see ya, chubs      4:02pm

Oh yes, acts of service. That was another love language they were both extremely versed in and that was Jimin code for “Please cook for me, I'll help by standing next to you and sipping wine”. He let out a chuckle, endeared. Maybe it was Yoongi's job to be there for Jimin, to be someone he can rely on. Even if he was exhausted from their hectic schedule, even if he needed one more day of rest, he'd cook for him. He set his phone on the couch and stood up to play his guitar, again, hearing a disgruntled sound as he disturbed Tang's sleep.

Moving through the house slowly, he finally got to his studio. Letting out a snort as soon as he saw a picture on his desk. Him and Jimin in Sweden long before they were dating. It was cringey, but it was still one of his favorites.

God, his boyfriend was adorable. It didn't matter that they saw each other two days ago, he already missed him. Whatever, maybe he was clingy. Yoongi shrugged his head to the side and got his guitar so he could practice for a while, there wasn't much else to his afternoon. He knew what he really wanted would be waiting for him in a little over four hours.

Jimin's apartment was practically his as well. He had the code to the elevator and door, there were shoes scattered in the hall, more than half of his clothes tucked into a wardrobe in one of the spare bedrooms, Yoongi's sneakers somewhere inside his boyfriend's private gym. Small inoffensive objects scattered around the apartment that made it feel like two people lived in it, not just one.

Letting himself in when the younger wasn't home was normal, still he let out a “Baby, I'm home” just in case Jimin was already around. Not hearing a reply he went inside and put his stuff away heading to the kitchen. He was going to get a headstart on dinner knowing his boyfriend would arrive demanding food.

Yoongi worked alone through most of dinner. He enjoyed cooking, it was methodical, a repetitive task. When he was younger it was a simple way to get his mind on check, it had always calmed him, specially when he was cooking for someone else. Yoongi had never been one to express his love directly. He would always try to be subtle, not being used to receiving love in direct ways, he didn't know how to give it. But everything changed because of his members, most of them were very affectionate people. Even if he didn't know how to show it, he had to get used to their excessive physical touch.

In the beginning, it hadn't been easy for them to understand Yoongi's limits, but over the years they eventually got each other. Still, Yoongi loved them and tried to show it in different ways, one of them was cooking.

Jimin understood from the beginning, constantly asking for something different with a pout that had always been impossible to say no to. It had never been hard for Jimin to see him, he had always been the one to respect his personal space the most. Yoongi cherished it, but he noticed the younger craved the attention, even if he was respectful of Yoongi’s limits. Jimin was just as clingy as the others, if not more.

As soon as they started dating Yoongi noticed it could become a problem. Jimin would hold himself back, unsure if he could cling to him like he wanted to and Yoongi wouldn’t always notice that need. Yoongi still remembers Jimin's tear streaked face while his boyfriend yelled at him for not being more affectionate, not wanting him enough. It broke him at the time, so the older worked on it, they did it together and now Yoongi might be even clingier than Jimin. What an irony.

Yoongi was close to finishing the ramen when he heard the familiar sound of the door opening and his boyfriend's lovely voice calling out "Yoon, I'm home.”

Jimin came straight to the kitchen with a big eye smile lighting up his face. He had barely stepped through the door before Yoongi pouted “Took you long enough. I was starting to think you moved out.”

“With how much you whine? I should” Jimin shot back, but he was already pulling Yoongi into a back hug propping his head into his boyfriend's shoulder.

“You started without me?” Now it was Jimin's turn to whine getting even closer to his boyfriend's personal space trying and failing to make eye contact.

Yoongi just replied matter of factly, “Minnie, were you really going to help? It’s past 8 and I remember you saying you missed ‘my’ cooking, right?” He looked back at him, raising his eyebrows playfully, “Just bring over the wine.”

Jimin pretended to be offended, gasping dramatically and squeezing his boyfriend’s waist, but that didn't last long. Jimin couldn't help but laugh loudly holding onto Yoongi so he wouldn't fall.

“You know me well.” Jimin said cheekily, removing himself from his boyfriend's back to find two glasses for the wine.

"How's my baby Tangie?” Yoongi doesn't reply immediately, looking at him from the corner of his eyes, watching him open the bottle of red wine. He couldn't help but think his boyfriend was being too nonchalant. Yoongi sighed dramatically.

“Tang is fine. Threw a fit when I got home and spent a whole day ignoring me, but as soon as I gave him that new treat I bought in Paris he came running to my lap.” He heard his boyfriend giggle. Yoongi's chest loosened a little.

“You should have brought him here.” Jimin said, while leaving Yoongi's glass next to him and leaning on the counter. “I miss him,” Jimin said, nudging Yoongi's shoulder “Tang misses you too, you know.” Yoongi had a perpetual pout on his face. He couldn't stop thinking about how Jimin was gushing over Tang and he still hadn't even gotten a kiss.

“You're allergic.” Yoongi deadpanned. Getting dramatic, he exhaled loudly “Did you not miss me?” Yoongi joked by changing his voice a little and pretending to be angry, shrugging his head while sipping on his wine. Jimin laughed loudly and decided to tease his boyfriend back with a small smirk. He knows the older, he can notice when something is bothering him, but he also loves to tease him.

“Yoon, we were touring together” he said with a hint of laughter getting in his boyfriend's personal space and touching his biceps “I haven't seen Tang in a long time and I saw you less than 48 hours ago” Jimin waited for a reaction. When he didn't get anything from the older who kept working on the ramen he moved his hands to softly caress Yoongi's hair “and you know I have meds for my allergy.”

Yoongi remained silent, his focus on the pan, already close to finishing the food. With no response Jimin tsked shaking his head.

“Finish dinner” he whispered with a sweet smile on his face, moving close to his ear “and after, I'll show you exactly how much I miss you” quickly giving the older a small kiss on his neck and going into the living room. Leaving a flushed Yoongi behind.

Jimin was still finishing his food sitting on the couch with his side pressing against Yoongi's, a clear sign of affection, they always stayed close when they could, both loving the touch. Yoongi could feel Jimin's calming presence and his eyelids grew heavier by the minute. He needed comfort, the older just wanted to lay down and cuddle.

The wine helped with his tiredness, as much as he tried to keep alert, he could feel his eyes closing involuntarily. He needed to sleep, but his boyfriend didn't show any signs of wanting to go to bed. It wasn't uncommon for them to sleep alone, it was often where they fell asleep at different times of the day. But Yoongi was craving the younger's touch today more than usual.

They were drinking while watching some Youtube videos, as they usually do on nights with no schedules. Despite not being that interested in this week's episode of Deun Deun, Yoongi could see Jimin was extremely invested. His boyfriend was giggling adorably at whatever was happening on the screen.

“Minnie, do you want another glass? I’m going to the kitchen,” said Yoongi, standing up, trying to wake up a little. He wanted to go to bed with his boyfriend, so he had to stay awake.

“No, hyung, thanks,” Jimin replied, without sparing a single glance his way. Yoongi knew he didn’t mean anything by it, and he wasn’t that clingy, but he missed his boyfriend and he was buzzed, so not getting his attention now was starting to annoy him.

Yoongi went back to the kitchen and poured himself another glass of the red wine they’d gotten in Spain, the Rioja was rich and smooth. Jimin had been geeking out over European wines for weeks, practically buzzing with excitement to try them. Jimin's extremely skilled in anything he sets his mind to, whether it be music, dance, wine or anything else. Yoongi wasn’t surprised, the wine was incredible, just like everything else Jimin touched.

After going back to the living room and seeing his boyfriend still invested and laughing at the TV with a bowl of finished ramen in one hand, he decided enough was enough. He was going to take matters into his own hands.

Unable to hide his frown, Yoongi walked up to him and decided to stand right in front of Jimin while pretending to be interested in the episode he was watching. His butt was in his boyfriend’s line of sight now, so Jimin couldn't see the show. There was no way he was going to ignore him now, Yoongi thought triumphaly.

While slightly pouting, Yoongi started talking “Jae-suk is too funny, right? I miss him. Remember when he mentioned he wanted to invite us for drinks, but we never got together.” He stopped for a bit and looked at Jimin, who was simply staring straight at his face with a blank expression and eyebrow raised. Yoongi wouldn't give up now, he could see from his face Jimin knew what was happening and was teasing him by staying quiet.

Yoongi turned to the TV once more and continued “You know who called me last week when we were in Brussels? Se-ho, he wanted to meet me and didn’t know we were still traveling. That man—”

Jimin interrupted his boyfriend mid-sentence by pulling him onto his lap, his gaze glued to the screen and a soft smile in his lips. “Can you put the bowl on the coffee table, chubs?” he said. Completely ignoring Yoongi's rambling.

Yoongi complied, putting the bowl on the table and his own glass of wine. He could barely sit up straight and Jimin's fingers were already tangled in his hair, guiding Yoongi’s head to his shoulder, petting his hair.

“I know you’re tired. This episode is almost over, okay? We can go to bed after.” Jimin said softly, while his other hand caressed Yoongi’s thigh lightly.

As soon as he rested his head on the crook of the younger's neck, Yoongi forgot why he had been annoyed in the first place. He was easy to please. He'd been craving his boyfriend's attention the whole night, missing his touch and Jimin always knew what he needed. Feeling satisfied with one of his boyfriend's hands slowly caressing his hair, while the other was circling his middle. Yoongi could wait a couple of minutes. Adjusting his head a little, he closed his eyes and let out a sigh, feeling his boyfriend's hand move and slowly make circles on the exposed skin of his waist. Jimin always smelled so good, his perfume had just a faint citrusy scent that reminded him of tangerines. He rubbed his nose on his neck and gave it a few pecks. He really couldn’t be happier.

Yoongi barely felt the time pass, dozing off on his boyfriend's lap. After some minutes, Jimin turned off the TV and wordlessly picked Yoongi up. He brought him to his bedroom but not after stopping near the door. “Turn the lights off for me, baby,” Jimin said while holding him. Yoongi extended his arm to turn it off, barely opening his eyes. After a couple of minutes, he felt himself being laid down on the bed. Jimin followed suit, laying almost entirely on top of him.

Yoongi let out a sigh. Finally. He felt the soft bedding under him and Jimin settling on his chest. The older could feel him leaving small kisses on his torso making his way up all the way to his jaw.

“Want me to fuck you, hyung?” asked Jimin while looking at his boyfriend's face.
Yoongi didn't even open his eyes, just caressed his boyfriend's neck.

“Not tonight, baby. I’m sleepy, gonna take advantage of it.” Yoongi knew his boyfriend slept a lot more than him, who could only manage 3 hours of sleep at most, so whenever he could he slept.

“Tomorrow, I'm yours. I’ll wait here until you wake up and work on some lyrics. I can afford to go home later.” Even if Yoongi wasn't touring he still had to work on their next releases, which is why he spent a good amount of his time producing in his studio at home.

Jimin was looking at Yoongi with that look that was always impossible to resist, but he already had his eyes half shut, his breathing deepening.

“What if I suck you off?” Jimin still tried one last time, always eager to dote on him.

Yoongi laughed, low and rough, barely awake. “No, baby. I’m tired. Come here.” Yoongi brought Jimin impossibly closer and gave him a slow kiss. Their breaths mingled together. Jimin let out a sigh, completely lost in the kiss, barely registering when Yoongi said, “I just want to be with you like this till I fall asleep.”

Yoongi gave him a small kiss on his temple. Already feeling himself dozing off, whispering, “Pet my hair.”

Jimin watched his boyfriend’s breathing even out until he fell asleep. His fingers traced patterns in Yoongi's hair, then drifted to his face, having already memorized his features after so many years. Jimin noticed his boyfriend spent the entire night sulking, he tended to do that when he was exhausted. Nothing a good night's sleep wouldn't solve. Jimin didn’t know how anyone could see Yoongi as anything other than a sweet, adorable, and lovable man. While looking at Yoongi's sleeping face he realized once more, he was completely in love.

After closing his eyes and adjusting himself on Yoongi’s chest, he quickly fell asleep, content to finally be home.
