Chapter 1: I Try To Show Emotion, But My Eyes Won't Seem To Wet

Chapter Text

✦ ─ ˗ˋ 📺ˊ˗ ─ ✦

There. The jobs done. He might be found in the morning or a week from now, but by then, Vincent Whittman will be long gone, not a trace he was ever here, and not a speck of blood on his pristine suit.

...

But that is then, this is now, and now, Vincent is covered in blood. Yuck. And the cherry on top is that if he wants to stay on the visitor side of prison bars, Vincent would have to wash it out himself. Ugh, God gives his strongest soldiers the toughest battles, though Vincent would hardly call himself God's favorite.

Well, he should be getting home, he has a dinner that his shit wife is surely preparing for him-

The fuck is that. Vincent feels someone or something watching him. He looks around him without moving his head. The alleyway is small, and has bushes at the end, but there isn't anyone, not even across the street. Damn his paranoia, Vincent gives the body a small kick with his shoe in frustration, fucking stupid everything, he should be getting home anyways. He just needs to toss the evidence first.

Vincent takes a deep breath before walking into the not too small house. It's quite big actually, room enough for a full family, not that Vincent wants kids. Kids are messy, and loud, and annoying as shit, and he wouldn't be caught dead caring for a freeloader. As he walks into the house, as expected, his wife is finishing up dinner. "I'm home, sweetheart!"
He strolls to her giving her a kiss on her cheek before leaning his chin on her shoulder, head tilted towards her neck. "How was work, dearest?" "It was alright, but that intern spilled coffee on my jacket, Anyways, what's for dinner?" Vincents wife, Lisa, clicks her tongue "Do you need me to wash it for you?-" "That won't be necessary. We wouldn't want to give you more work than you need!"
"Oh, well thank you-" she leans her head against his "I'm making meatloaf, by the way" "Lovely, I'm sure it's amazing dearest~" he plants a kiss on her cheek "But I'm not too hungry tonight, save some in the fridge for me?" she turns to him "Of course, sleep well, Vincent"

Vincent goes upstairs, getting undressed, and hiding the bloodstained suit jacket well enough so Lisa won't find it. he then goes to bed, still feeling those eyes on him. He brushes it off, and goes to sleep.
