Lime was laying on one of the medbay cots, they looked slightly pissed since it wasn't really their choice to be in there. It had started as a cough that they brushed off as breathing in some dust or something, but it slowly got worse and soon enough it became a goddamned fever that couldn't stop bugging them—it didn't go unnoticed by the rest, and Orange forced them to go see the doctor or else they'll have to write them off for not being compliant.
It had already been a day since they were stuck in that room, Lime looked at the ceiling since they just couldn't fall asleep in a place like that. What if something happened whilst they slept? The thought didn't leave their mind and their efforts to think of something else just didn't work. Even worse was having to hear Blue walking all around the place and going in and out of the room. Even if they didn't dislike their presence it still was strange, every time that the doctor tried to make small talk with them it just felt strange—their stomach felt uneasy and their face felt hot, Blue was definitely doing something to them like… Ignore it.
Lime could hear footsteps getting near, their eyes darted to the curtain that covered the cot and soon enough Blue popped into the image. They looked at Lime surprised.
“Lime! I didn't expect you to be awake at this hour, how are you feeling?” Blue asked, getting a bit closer.
“... ‘m feelin' better, my head doesn't hurt anymore. What are ya carrying?” Lime responded while watching the crewmate’s hand gripping something.
Blue looked at the engineer with a little confusion until they noticed where was Lime looking “Ah, it's just the thermometer. I have to check your temperature again.” They smiled while saying that, showing Lime the small device.
“That darn thing again? No way I'm lettin’ ya use it on me again-” The engineer was interrupted by Blue, “Lime, I know you don't enjoy this but your health is really important to me and I wouldn't want you getting worse. I promise this will be the last time, okay?”
Lime stayed silent, their face heated up slightly and after a short period of time they nodded. Blue practically gleamed after seeing that, getting closer to Lime and putting the thermometer under their tongue.
“There we go… Now we just have to wait for a bit! Thanks for trusting me, Lime”
The engineer looked the other way, avoiding Blue’s visor. Blue just grinned more than before, watching the engineers expression for a while.
The thermometer started beeping and Blue took it carefully, taking a look at it. “Seems like your fever is over, I'm glad. But I still recommend staying here for a bit more, just in case. Tomorrow you will be good to go!”
Lime groaned “Alright, doc.”

“Can I stay here with you a while, dear Lime? It's late and I don't believe anybody is awake at this time”
The engineer looked at Blue in disbelief, why do they want to stay? Do they want to do something to them? Lime was alert and as much as they wanted to tell the doctor to get out they just couldn't bring themselves to—maybe a small bit of company could be okay. They nodded, still looking slightly troubled.
Blue sat down on the bed, they shifted a little before changing their attention to Lime. They stared at them in amazement for a while.

“Do ya… need somethin’?” This seemingly startled the doctor, which got embarrassed after they got caught staring like a creep, “I- I'm so sorry, Lime! I was thinking of something else, my apologies”
“Nah, it's okay, doc. Jus’ try not to do that again. Did ya want to talk about anythin’?”
“Uh, yeah! I've looked at one of your drawings before and never got the chance to tell you how pretty it looked, when did you start to draw?” Lime's hobby was the first conversation theme they could think about so they jumped to it in hopes that their companion forgets the staring.
Lime felt their heartbeat get faster and their stomach feeling weird again—damn you Blue…
“Yeah- Uh, thank you. It means a lot.” Lime smiled slightly before continuing “I started drawing a long time ago, lost count. I always enjoyed doin’ so”
“Really? That's wonderful! Art is a really beautiful way of expressing yourself, that's why I myself studied poetry”
“You're a poet?” Lime commented, but they shook their head and nodded after thinking of it a little, it was kind of obvious.
“Mhm, I still write poems every now and then when I have free time”
“Can I see one?” The question took Blue by surprise, their face turned a shade of red-ish purple. “I'm afraid I can't show you, but next time I'll make sure to have one ready”
Lime looked confused, why couldn't they? They weren't going to push it though.
Lime sat up on the bed so they were on the same level as Blue, the pair kept on talking for a while—laughing every now and then.
The engineer was enjoying this more than they thought, maybe the company wasn't that bad. Lime felt really calm even if their face felt hot still, it wasn't hard to ignore so it couldn't bug them so much.
One thing catched their visor though, a thing that got Lime widening their gaze. They debated if saying something would be appropriate.

“Doc?”
“What is it, Lime?”
“Are you hard..?”
The question lingered for a bit, before the doctor looked down and noticed their own arousal—this immediately made their face get way too red and the embarrassment was evident, Blue tried to hide it while apologizing as much as they could. They covered their face whilst looking the opposite direction from their companion.
“Oh my polus— I’m so sorry, Lime! I'm very sorry for this, I- I didn’t mean to-” They said nervously, Lime must definitely think they're a creep now. How couldn't they notice sooner? Fuck- what if they don't want to talk to them anymore after this? The sheer thought made them afraid.
“Come ‘ere” Lime’s voice was weirdly calm, Blue looked at them sheepishly from the corner of their visor; only to see their companion patting their lap, telling them where to go.
As ashamed as they felt, they obliged and soon enough they sat sideways on the engineer’s lap.
“Look at me, doll.” Lime commanded and Blue did just as they said without any complaints, they both stared at eachother for a while devoid of any sound except their breathing.
“Are you okay with this?” The engineer asked with one hand on the doctor's thigh.
“Yes- are you okay with this? I don't want to make you feel forced to-”
Blue’s blabbering was cut off as they yelped when Lime grabbed their tie and pulled them into a kiss, Lime’s hand on Blue's side while caressing them slowly. The kiss extended for a while until Lime broke it to say something.
“Doll, if I wasn't okay with this I wouldn't have told ya to come over”
Both of the crewmates stared at each other as if it was a contest, it wasn't long until they submerged in another kiss deeper than the last one; Lime's hand tugged at Blue’s thigh, signaling them to move. They obliged, Blue was now on top of Lime while the kiss turned into them making out.

Blue's expression softened, they grabbed Lime's chin so the engineer was looking at them.

Lime stayed silent, if they weren't blushing before now they were for sure.

Blue had their arms around Lime, not letting go.

Lime obliged, making Blue lay down on their back. The engineer was on top of them, not really knowing what to do now.
Blue held their hands up their head, watching Lime patiently.
“Take your time, dear. I can wait.”

Lime let go of Blue, laying down right next to them. They looked to the side were Blue was, they stared at them back and smiled.

Lime stared a them for a while, they knew they had to clean up, but they didn't have the heart to wake Blue.
“... I'll get that done later”
