I wrote this instead of doing my summer work…

I want to quickly say I don’t normally do fics with real people, this work is a work of fiction and fiction only! I have been really fixated on skz lately and my favorite friendship/dynamic is hyunsung so I got to writing :3

again this has nothing to do with the people in real life, only fiction!! and the ex bf minjun is a complete made up character, I used a random korean name

also if anyone is here from my unfinished fic, apologies I’ll get to it eventually…

anyway hope you enjoy!!!
happy stay week :)

Chapter 1: Kiss of Fate

Chapter Text

“I just want to talk to you, Hyunjin. Figure things out.” Hyunjin’s ex boyfriend said, following Hyunjin across campus who clearly did not want to deal with this.

Hyunjin wanted to have a nice day.

It was Thursday and he had slipped on baggy semi-ripped jeans along with a tank top and jacket. He had used his sunglasses on his head to keep his long brown hair with streaks of blonde on the ends out of his face. He had only wanted to grab a coffee.

Minjun had to ruin it for him.

Hyunjin’s ex, Minjun ran and stood right in front of him, stopping Hyunjin in his tracks. Hyunjin sighed, he did not have time for this. He had an art project due in a couple of days and had to work on his dance routine for the upcoming evaluation test.

Yet, here his ex had to be, circling the things Hyunjin did not want to talk about. Minjun cheated on him, simple as that. As soon as Hyunjin had been told by Changbin, Hyunjin already knew he was not sticking around for this piece of crap and dumped him.

No surprise there when Minjun could not be the one to be dumped, he had to do the dumping. It’s been two weeks since their break up but Minjun could not let it go. Apparently, he still “loved” Hyunjin.

“Come on, Hyunjin, I really regret what I did. Take me back.” Minjun tried again with an obnoxious pout on his face that seriously pissed Hyunjin off.

“No, I don’t date cheaters. If you really had loved me, you wouldn’t have done what you did, you piece of shit.” Hyunjin bit out, which seemed to have hurt precious Minjun’s ego.

Hyunjin realized after the break up how toxic Minjun really was. Sure, the guy showered Hyunjin in gifts, but after looking back on their relationship, Hyunjin realized how manipulative and poisonous Minjun’s words and temper are.

Minjun’s face had contorted into anger. “You really think anyone is going to want to date a dancing art freak like you?! I’m your first relationship, baby, you think anyone’s going to want to kiss you but me? After no one had before? You should be grateful at how much I took care of you since no one else wants you.”

Hyunjin’s cheeks grew hot in embarrassment. University students who heard Minjun’s loud tone threw glances over at them. There was no doubt in Hyunjin’s mind that some of them heard what Minjun said.

The two of them were standing outside in the food court area on campus where people bought meals and sat outside on the round tables with umbrellas above them.

One thing about Hyunjin was that he never cowered at when his ex boyfriend got toxic, he always fought back. “Yeah? Well, I have a new boyfriend now! He loves me and cherishes me better than you ever did.”

Minjun laughed in disbelief at the thought. “Oh yeah? And where is your so-called new boyfriend now?” Hyunjin’s eyes scanned behind Minjun before he called bingo.

There he saw Han Jisung, sitting at one of the round tables deep in thought at the lyric notes he had been scribbling in his journal. He had an iced americano next to his journal, half drunken.

Han Jisung’s short hair was a dark blue and his bangs fell over his eyes whenever he looked down. He wore simple baggy black sweatpants with a dark t-shirt as well as a blue unbuttoned flannel. Jisung had been wearing glasses and he had subtle black eyeliner on too.

Hyunjin recalled that Han Jisung used to be his so called “enemy” in sophomore and junior year of high school before they just decided to ignore each other senior year. Whatever, Hyunjin did not care. All he knew was he needed someone at this exact moment and at least it was someone he knew.

Even if they used to be “enemies” or still are? Hyunjin did not really know.

Hyunjin walked past Minjun who followed behind him. Han Jisung was just ten steps away. Once Hyunjin made his way over with a Minjun right behind him holding a disbelieving smile, he sat right next to Jisung.

As soon as Hyunjin sat down next to him with a
plop, Jisung placed his pen down, took off the glasses, and looked up. Hyunjin put his hands on both of Jisung’s cheeks and pulled him into a kiss. Jisung—even though he was taken by surprise as he had no idea what was happening—closed his eyes tightly and did not pull away from the kiss.

In fact… was he kissing back?

Hyunjin ignored the thought and continued.

Hyunjin held their kiss for a long time for good measure before pulling away, slipping his hand in Jisung’s before looking back at Minjun. Minjun had been staring at them face agape in such shock that it was comical. Jisung did not say anything as the situation unfolded, yet he watched the pair—especially Minjun—carefully.

Hyunjin held a smug look on his face, making sure Minjun can see them holding hands as he placed their interlocked fingers on the table. “Jisung is my boyfriend now. So, I don’t need you or your crappy personality.”

Minjun quickly put his jaw back into place, clearing his throat before laughing like a maniac again. “Wow, Hyunjin, this guy? You seriously downgraded from me.”

Hyunjin squeezed Jisung’s hand tightly. “Whatever helps your ego.” Hyunjin responded with an unkind smile. Minjun just scoffed.

“Have fun with your little boyfriend for now. I know you’ll come crawling back.” Minjun retorted before stomping away, angrily, like a little child whose toy got taken away when it’s time for bed.

Hyunjin sighed in relief that he finally went away before turning over and realizing he was still holding Han Jisung’s hand. Before he could pull away, the girls in the table next to theirs had turned and looked at them.

“Hyunjin, I did not know you and Jisung were dating.” Nayeon said, a hand covering her mouth in quite a bit of shock. Nayeon was sitting at the table next to them with Dahyun, Jihyo, and Momo. Hyunjin knew them all from when they occasionally had to share the dance studio with female students. The other three girls nodded as they were eating, agreeing with Nayeon.

Hyunjin gripped Jisung’s hands tighter and pulled him closer as Hyunjin smiled at them. These girls weren’t exactly friends with Minjun but Hyunjin knew they talked to him a lot since the girls have classes with Hyunjin’s ex.

If he denied it to them right now, Minjun was destined to find out. That’s just not something Hyunjin could risk.

“Yes, we just started dating.” Hyunjin told them, simply confirming their thoughts even though it was far from the actual truth. Hyunjin was shocked at how Jisung was staying quiet, not protesting or denying that it was not true. It was so odd.

The girls gasped and made noises of acknowledgment and congratulations before going back to their meals.

Suddenly, Felix from his dance class came out of no where and sat at their roundtable (or it was really Jisung’s first), holding two granola bars. “Hey, Jisungie, I was wondering if you were going to—“

Felix cut himself off as he found Hyunjin also at the table with their palms pressed together. As soon as Felix’s jaw dropped out of place, both Hyunjin and Jisung immediately pulled their hands away from each other, flustered.

The first sign of life Jisung has made since Hyunjin watched him drop his pen and taking off his glasses before they kissed.

“You both are dating?!”

Hyunjin was about to strictly deny it because if Felix knew they were “dating”, everyone would know they were “dating.” Jisung beat him but not in the way Hyunjin expected.

“Yeah.” Jisung answered, one word, so simple. Hyunjin’s gaze snapped to Han Jisung next to him in shock. Jisung took his glasses to clean them and put them inside his backpack on the floor, unbothered.

Felix’s eyebrows raised before he smiled in excitement. Too much excitement, what was so exciting about this? Felix dropped the granola bar on the table and slid it over to Jisung. “Oh my gosh, this is insane! Why didn’t you tell me? I’m your best friend!” Jisung did not reply. ”You both need to come to my party now.”

Hyunjin saw Jisung’s eyebrows furrow in confusion. “What party?”

Felix was overtaken by a wave of dramatic hurt, except he was not that serious about it, he just wanted to tease Jisung. “Sung, I’ve been talking about this for ages! I’m throwing a party at Chan’s house?”

“Oh, that party, which I’m not going to.” Jisung recalled and picked up his pen again to continue writing lyrics. Hyunjin watched their conversation unfold, taking his turn at being silent.

Felix frowned. “Come on! I need my best friend to go, and you can totally bring your boyfriend! I know him from my dance classes.” Felix turned from Jisung to Hyunjin, waving. “Hi, Hyunjin!”

Hyunjin just awkwardly smiled, offering his own wave.

Jisung sighed. “I can’t, Lix. I have to work on my demos, they’re due soon.”

“One night won’t kill you.” Felix tried hard to convince, Jisung looked back up at him. “Please, Sung.”

Jisung let out a breath. “Fine, I’ll go.“

Felix celebrated in triumph, looking over at Hyunjin. “You’re coming too, right?” Hyunjin did not realize what he was doing as he wordlessly nodded. “Perfect! I’ll send you both the info, it’s tomorrow at eight though, don’t forget!” Felix left the table in a hurry, crinkling open his granola bar and eating it.

Jisung grabbed his pen yet again—for a third time and doodled some notes in his lyrics, scratching them out in frustration whenever he did not like them. Hyunjin just sat there, speechless and staring at Jisung.

The girls next to their table had left to Hyunjin’s relief and he desperately wanted to leave but did not allow himself. There was no way he could just leave after kissing someone and telling people they were in a relationship when they clearly weren’t.

The two of them have not even spoken to each other since high school. Hyunjin took a breath. “I’m sor—“

“You don’t have to apologize, Hwang Hyunjin. You needed me to help get that asshole off your back and you did. We don’t have to speak about it anymore.”

Hyunjin bit the inside of his cheek. “So, you remember me?” Jisung eyes lifted up to Hyunjin’s to give him a “really?” look.

“It’s not like high school was ten years ago.” Jisung chuckled. “And the way you look hasn’t changed at all.”

Hyunjin blinked. “What the hell is that supposed to mean?”

As Jisung’s laughter died in his throat, he waved a hand at Hyunjin. “Nothing. I got work to do as you can see so scurry off now.”

Hyunjin finally scooted away from Jisung on the bench as he realized he was still close to him. “Uhm, hello? I can’t just scrurry off and let everything be now. Many people think we are dating now, this isn’t a one situation thing. Felix literally just told us to come to his party together.”

It seemed like a bus of realization crashed in Jisung’s face as Hyunjin said that. Crap, he was right.

“So, we’ll just date for real then.” Jisung suggested, closing his journal and clicking his pen.

Hyunjin’s eye twitched. Flashbacks of high school surrounded him. “This isn’t a fucking game like the shit you used to play in high school.”

Jisung raised an eyebrow up and Hyunjin’s sudden mood change as he grabbed his backpack off the floor. “It sounds exactly like a game to me. We can just convince people we are dating, duh. It’s not like we will actually be a cute little couple for ever and ever. It’ll be to get that toxic ex off your back.”

Hyunjin’s annoyed gaze softened at Jisung’s idea. That could work, for sure. Hyunjin then narrowed his eyes in suspicion. “What’s in it for you?”

“Money.”

“That’s not happening.”

Jisung rolled his eyes, stuffing his journal and pen in his bag. “Fine. It’s really to get Felix to stop putting me on blind dates. I can’t evade them no matter how hard I try, he always ends up getting me to go. Then I have to sit and hear the narcissists talk about themselves endlessly without ever asking me a question about myself.”

Hyunjin supposed that was a pretty good reason, still it was weird. “Why would you suggest that after you already knew who I was?”

Jisung shrugged. “I mean you already told people we’re dating, you fucking kissed me too. Might as well.”

Hyunjin shook his head, that’s not what he was talking about. “You and I hated each other. Remember?”

“Yeah, I do.” Jisung said, but did not offer anything after that. Hyunjin decided to just leave it and slipped his phone out of his pocket.

“Do you still have my number? Is it blocked?” Hyunjin asked as he scrolled through his contacts to look for Jisung’s number and unblock him. In freshman year of high school, they were friends for some time at the end of the year before having the falling out.

“Yes, I do.” Jisung answered immediately not even going to his phone to check. He put his bag on his back and grabbed his iced americano. “I never blocked you. See you.”

Then, Jisung just left, leaving Hyunjin with that cryptic sentence. I never blocked you. Is that supposed to have a deeper meaning behind it? Or was Hyunjin just overthinking?

Hyunjin’s face hit the table. He did not know, and that’s what frustrated him.

Later that day, Hyunjin returned to his apartment. He worked on his rough sketch for his project outline before hopping in the shower. Once he finished and dried off, he slipped into black plaid pajama pants and a tank top before jumping into his comfortable bed.

As he flopped over on his back, what happened earlier came flying back to him like a speeding train. Hyunjin gasped, audibly and his fingers sprang up to his lips.

The lips that kissed Han Jisung’s. For more than five seconds. Hyunjin grabbed his pillow and buried his face in it.

He cannot believe he did that. It was his arch enemy too. Okay, enemy is a bit much. This wasn’t some television series. Still though. They had been far from friends.

Did ignoring each other senior year and never talking until now make them less hostile towards each other?

Hyunjin bit his lip and grabbed his phone off his nightstand. He went to Jisung’s contact info and sent him a message.

Me

hey

Hyunjin was about to doomscroll on social media as he did not expect a message for a while but Jisung responded instantly.

Han Ji-idiot❌🗑️

hello

Crap, Hyunjin forgot he set that as his contact back then. He quickly changed it.

Me

so tmrw

Han Jisung

yes?

Me

felix texted us both the info, you better be there im not as close to felix as u are and have no idea who else is going

Han Jisung

yes mom, im going to be there

Hyunjin sighed at how quickly the conversation ended. He sent a message for shock effect.

Me

and don’t wear that crappy eyeliner

Hyunjin actually thought the eyeliner looked really hot on him.

Wait— what?

His mind was being very weird right now. Han Jisung and hot in the same sentence? Hyunjin loathed even looking at him in high school. His attention was brought back to the phone when he heard a ding.

Han Jisung

ಠ_ಠ

Hyunjin giggled at the message before even realized what he was doing. What the fuck.

Han Jisung

wtf man?? yk what im wearing it just to spite u now

Hyunjin smiled because what he said backfired in the best way. Jisung would always be wearing that eyeliner now.

Me

listen this is really weird i still don’t understand

don’t we hate each other?

Jisung’s chat bubbles take a minute.

Han Jisung

idk do you?

Hyunjin thought about it for a moment.

Me

i dont think so? you were annoying as fuck in high school but i kind of moved passed from that

Han Jisung

i see

Hyunjin wanted to throw his phone and let out a groan. Why was Jisung so damn cryptic? Hyunjin thought their conversation was over and was about to plug his phone in for the night until he got another ding.

Han Jisung

i dont hate u

but i dont forgive u for what u did and the fact you havent even apologized speaks volume

Hyunjin sat up immediately, blinking to see if he got that right. What did he do? Hyunjin tried to recall all their years on high school but could not pinpoint anything.

It was pathetic but Hyunjin needed to try.

Me

what did i do???

No response.

Hyunjin sighed and plugged his phone in, tossing it on his nightstand.

Hyunjin felt the next day run by rather quickly. He had three classes today, all back to back with an hour break in between. Literature, sculpture, and technique. Usually it’s not like that but with the huge sports game that’s taking place near the university campus, they moved classes up today.

Hyunjin never got his iced americano yesterday so he treated himself with one today. So far, he’s done a good job avoiding Minjun but he hasn’t seen Jisung at all today.

Not that it’s much of a shock. He never saw Jisung around campus before, he was barely aware they even went to the same college.

Hyunjin still did not understand what he did in high school but it was the only thing that pissed Jisung off about him. Other than that, Jisung did not hate him. Or that’s what he said, anyway.

Hyunjin was sitting on the floor outside the dance room, biting at his straw deep in thought. The next thing Hyunjin knew was that Minho plopped down next to him.

“What’s on your mind?” Minho asked, cracking open a can of some energy drink. They just finished practicing and they were both tired and sweaty.

“Just thinking.” Hyunjin answered, which did not answer much but Minho did not feel like forcing it out as he took a sip of his drink. “Minho-hyung.”

“Hm?”

“I know we did not really know each other in high school but do you remember Han Jisung and I and how we would always fight?”

Minho laughed, whipping out his phone to quickly answer a text message he got from one of his roommates about his cats. “That’s not something I could forget. You two were ridiculous.”

Hyunjin felt a wave of embarrassment but brushed it off. “Did you know he goes to the same college as us?”

Minho barely blinked. “Yeah? Him and Changbin share the same music theory class? Don’t you remember Binnie mentioning it once?”

No. He did not.

“Wow, you really don’t pay attention.”

Hyunjin huffed. “Whatever. I wanted to ask, do you remember if I did anything terrible to him besides our mutual banter? Something he may not have forgiven me for?”

Minho shoved his phone back into his pocket. “Beats me.” Another sip.

Always leave it to Minho to waste his time.

Minho gazed at him suspiciously. “Speaking of Han Jisung, I heard from Felix you’re dating him now, is that true?”

Always leave it to Felix to run his mouth.

Hyunjin nodded before he got up from the ground, iced americano in hand. He picked up his dance bag as well. He was not sticking around for Minho’s follow up questions. To quickly change the topic before he left he asked Minho: “Are you going to Felix’s party tonight?”

“Yeah, he invited me a couple days ago.”

“See you there.” Hyunjin nodded again before leaving at that. He could not answer questions he did not have answers to.

When Hyunjin got to his apartment he put outfits out on his bed and stared at his options. He did not want to stand out too much but his outfits were pretty stylish. Hyunjin whipped out his phone when it buzzed with a message.

Han Jisung

do u want to meet up before going to party?

That was probably a good idea. They should arrive together.

Me

yepp where do u want to meet??

Han Jisung

i come to ur place

send address

Oh. Well, okay. Once Hyunjin did, Jisung messaged that he will be there in thirty. It was 7:15 so it was a reasonable time to come. Hyunjin needed to quickly get ready.

He tossed on a white shirt as well as a stylish light blue jacket with long loose-fitting dark jeans. It was slightly elegant. Hyunjin hoped people wouldn’t just be wearing hoodies and sweatpants.

Later when a knock arrived at his door, he opened it to find Jisung wearing exactly that. “Motherfucker.” Hyunjin muttered before stepping out his apartment door and locking it.

“You look nice.” Jisung said, which made Hyunjin blink in surprise. Such kindness. Hyunjin looked at Jisung to find the eyeliner on his eyes, thank goodness.

“From what you’re wearing, I overdressed.” Hyunjin responded awkwardly as they started walking to the party. The address was not far and actually within walking distance.

Jisung shrugged and they spent the rest of the walk in silence. Not long, they made it to the front door. It was an actual house, not an apartment. Surprising as Chan is a university student himself, but it is his final year so it did make sense.

When the door opened, their silence was met with blasting music and a sunshine. Felix hugged the two of them and welcomed them in. It was not as packed as Hyunjin expected to be fair. It was actually small.

He saw Minho sitting on the couch talking to Changbin. Jeongin was here, Hyunjin had talked to him a couple of times. It was Jeongin’s first year of college and he was chatting with Chan and Seungmin.

Hyunjin probably knew Seungmin the least, speaking to him like twice over some assignment in literature. Chan was occasionally helping out in the dance studio even though he did not take the course anymore.

Three other guys were there that Hyunjin did not know personally and only occasionally saw on campus sometimes. He later learned their names were Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Kai. Beomgyu was apparently good friends with Jeongin, and brought some of his other friends along.

The dance studio girls Hyunjin saw the other day were there but along with the others. Jeongyeon, Sana, Mina, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu. TWICE was what they called their dance group. Hyunjin saw them through the door frame and they were huddled in a little circle in the kitchen.

Hyunjin froze when he saw Minjun in the corner of the room talking to some girl. Not the same girl he cheated on him with. This guy really was a player. Hyunjin suddenly felt a hand grab his and he looked down to see Jisung squeezing it.

Huh. Hyunjin guessed Jisung saw him the same time he did. As Felix was about to squeeze by since they were still standing at the doorway where all the shoes were scattered, Jisung grabbed Felix’s shoulder.

Felix tilted his head in confusion. Hyunjin thanked Jisung for that as he spoke. “Felix, you did not tell me Minjun was going to be here.” Hyunjin spoke in a hushed voice, even though it was already loud enough from the music and chatter for anyone to hear them.

Felix looked like a deer in headlights at the realization. “Crap, I forgot you two used to be a thing. It wasn’t like I invited him though! He just walked in with the girls before I could stop him. When I told him to leave he just scoffed. I should have persisted more, I can go try again—“

Hyunjin waved his hand, swallowing. “It’s fine, it’s fine.”

Felix frowned. “You sure?” Hyunjin nodded. Felix still felt bad but his face lit up in thought. “We were all going to play games now, come join us.”

Hyunjin and Jisung slipped their shoes off and sat on the huge couch in which everyone started coming over to sit at. Minjun sat across from Hyunjin and Jisung, his eyes trained on Hyunjin.

Hyunjin looked away in discomfort.

There was silence among the whole party now that they were all in the living room and Chan decided to break the ice. “So, what game does everyone want to play? Anyone up for a game of uno?”

Felix lit up. “I love that game!”

“How about truth or dare?” Minjun suggested instead, making the some of the others perk up, more interested than how uno was sounding right now. “I’ll go first then. Han Jisung.” Jisung suddenly looked up after staring into space for a while. “Truth or dare?”

Jisung scrunched his eyebrows together in thought. “Truth.”

“When did you and Hyunjin start dating?”

Starting off strong. Every one in the room suddenly grew interested at the answer since everyone happened to already know about them. The word got around fast. So fast.

Hyunjin bit his tongue.

“A week ago.” Jisung made up, which made Minjun furrow his brows.

“Really? I doubt that. There’s no way Hyunjin would have gotten over me so fast.”

Awkward silence.

The party was quiet, discomfort spreading across the room. The girl Minjun had been flirting with less than five minutes ago had a face of distaste. Hyunjin felt his hands closing around Jisung’s again, embarrassed.

“Maybe you’re more dislikable than you think.” Jisung retorted causing tension only toward Minjun. This actually caused a few quiet chuckles which angered Minjun and as he opened his big mouth, Seungmin interrupted him.

“How about we move on?” Seungmin proposed and so they did, to everyone’s relief. They went in turns, different truths like kiss, marry, kill, and dares like prank calls. When Jeongin had his turn he asked Jisung. Jisung did not think Jeongin would do anything too crazy so he chose dare.

“I dare you to show us what you have Hyunjin’s number saved as. Sana sitting next to will make sure you don’t try to change it last minute.” And Hyunjin knew they were screwed.

Jisung was still pissed with him and again they weren’t actually dating. If Jisung has it set as something vicious like Hyunjin had before he changed it recently or if was even something plain and simple like his first and last name, no contact picture, people were seriously going to get suspicious.

Jisung made a face that screamed “no problem.” He pulled his phone out of his pocket and clicked on the app, scrolling to find Hyunjin’s contact info. Sana watched as he did and as she saw he did not change it, he passed it around the room. The screen was too little for everyone to see.

Jisung passed it to Sana on his left first and it went around in the circle, the last person being Hyunjin. Hyunjin was staring at everyone’s faces to find the questioning reaction yet found none.

As Hyunjin stared at the faces as it went around the room, the girls found it cute, the guys nodded in approval? Hyunjin did not pinpoint what it was really but it wasn’t suspicious at least. Minjun was still pissed which made Hyunjin happy but he had no idea what to expect as the phone got passed to him.

He looked down at the screen to see his name labeled as: Hyunjinnie my baby<333 and the picture was one of which Hyunjin had no idea how Jisung got it. It was a point five picture of him in the dance studio—

Felix. Felix took that photo of him, Hyunjin recalled. Jisung must have asked Felix to send it to him.

Crap, Jisung thought ahead. Hyunjin has nothing of the sort for Jisung’s contact info, in fact, he does not even have a picture of him. Hyunjin needed to fix that tonight. They would’ve been done for if Jeongin asked that question to him instead of Jisung. Hyunjin handed Jisung his phone back.

“Okay, I think that’s enough.” Felix announced, his Australian accent suddenly sounding strong. “Uno, anyone?”

They played uno for an hour, eating pizza and drinking beer. It was getting very late and everyone was getting very tired. The party was slowly falling asleep on the couch, uno cards in hand. The girls fell asleep on each other’s shoulders, the boys falling asleep and pushing each other off the couch to have their own room.

Hyunjin fell asleep on Jisung’s shoulder and he let him be for a while, but as the clock was ticking, Jisung knew he needed to leave and finish that demo. He can grab an iced americano at one of those convenience stores on the way to his apartment or maybe that 24/7 coffee shop.

How was he going to leave Hyunjin though? If Jisung just left it would not frame him to be Hyunjin’s boyfriend especially not with an Minjun who was staring at him intensely, the only one up, the creep that he was.

“I know you’re not dating Hyunjin.” Minjun had said, not too loud so he did not wake the others. Jisung scoffed.

“What makes you think that?”

“Hyunjin would never date someone like you after me.”

“Better believe it happened, because it did.”

“You never even talked to Hyunjin before.”

“We went to high school together. We rekindled fast.”

Minjun huffed, Jisung was exhausting him. “Whatever, I’ll get Hyunjin back one way or another.”

“I sincerely doubt that, you piece of shit. That’s a very weird thing to say, by the way. You probably did not know since you have the wits of a newborn. What do you even want from Hyunjin anymore? Since you clearly don’t care for him. Is it his visual and your lust for it? Guess what, big guy, it’s never going to happen. Go find a loser to match you.”

Something within Minjun snapped as he seethed in anger. He got up from the couch, jumped over the long coffee table they had been using and pulled Jisung’s shirt, causing Jisung to bolt up and off the couch, Hyunjin’s head dropping.

Minjun started yelling at him, causing everyone to drowse. They did not fully wake up until Jisung yelled back and pushed Minjun back. Hyunjin rubbed his eyes until they widened at the scene unfolding. Minjun tried to lay a punch on Jisung’s face, which Jisung dodged and pushed Minjun back again. This time Minjun waddled back a little and almost tripped.

Chan and Changbin immediately got up and between the two. “What’s going on here?!”

“This loser started it.” Jisung said, pointing which caused Minjun’s fragile ego to fracture again.

“Call me that again, I dare you—!”

“Hm, okay. Loser, loser, loser, loser.” Jisung was responding, saying it each time in a different tone and counting the amount of times he said it with his fingers.

Minjun’s features were filled with rage. He tried to lunge at Jisung but Changbin caught him, holding him back. Minho jumped up from the couch, fully awake, cold gaze at Minjun. “Get the hell out.”

Minjun just stood there, Changbin still holding his shoulders. Chan suddenly got angry himself when he did not move. “Get out of my house!”

Minjun’s feet moved, Changbin following after him so he did not try anything. His fiery gaze was locked with Jisung’s cold gaze. “I’ll make you fucking regret this, Jisung.”

“I’m terrified.” Jisung said loud enough with boredom in his tone. Minjun did not miss that as he was finally guided out the front door. Once it shut, Jisung sighed. Hyunjin suddenly got up staring at Jisung in shock. As did the rest of the party. “Sorry, everyone. I should go.”

He turned to Hyunjin, giving him a hug before making his way out.

Hyunjin was star struck. Jisung almost— or practically did get into a fight with his ex boyfriend. Was it over him? Why would Jisung go through lengths like this over him, when the relationship wasn’t anything more than a facade? Feelings that he couldn’t name bubbled in Hyunjin’s chest over Jisung and this whole situation.
