Tyler's birthday was in 1 week.
Lindsay was often forgetful, and okay, sometimes referred to as 'ditzy' but she could never forget her boyfriend's birthday!
Instead of buying something from a store as a gift, Lindsay wanted to go a little bit more crafty and hand-made. A self-made tracksuit for Tyler. She had a couple designs in mind on how she would want it to look like.
Lindsay knew how much Tyler loved buying tracksuits, how couldn't she? Every time they've come to the mall, Tyler always rushes to a store with a sports section, scavenging around for any tracksuits before trying them on in the changing room, 'Lindsay! what do you think?' With the absolutely-adorable way he looked in each one that always brought a sudden rushing heat to her face. It was a memory Lindsay adorned.
She figured it would be really meaningful if she made one for him. It was her passion and his passion combined! It was perfect, just like them.
The decision was clear, Lindsay would design a tracksuit for him. But that was just the gift, she needed to plan something extraordinary. Like, a birthday party with all his friends! Tyler would be over the moon to see all his friends celebrating. Lindsay wasn't sure how to plan it right.
In her lightly dimmed bed-room, the floor was currently utterly covered in fashion posters and several pattern drafts and sketches for designs. It was a mess to anyone who didn't understand what she was doing.
She needed to be organized. And, well, organized wasn't really her thing. Lindsay was going to need some help.
The blonde went ahead and grabbed her phone from her night-stand table, scrolling through her contacts before stopping at Leshawna.
She settled on sending a simple text,
Lindsay:
hiii <3 i'm planning a birthday party for tylerr!!! do you wanna help me?
Leshawna responded almost immediately, to Lindsay's relief.
Leshawna:
AWE OF COURSE ILL HELP GIRL<3
we gotta first see who's in on the party and where we're gonna go for it and all that stuff!
Lindsay:
YAY!!!
okay, well i think cody and dj will be coming!!! and harold too! geoff loves parties so he would totally come!!!! those are all the ones i know for sure!
oh and!! noah can also help us with the planning! hes like, really smart!
Leshawna:
okayy! sounds good to me, make a gc with all of them and then lets plan to meet up with stringbean too
if theres anyone else that wants to come, we'll add them to the gc later and fill them in
Lindsay:
eeeek ur the best leshawna!! ty!
Lindsay quickly got to making the group chat, adding all the ones who she was sure would be coming for the party before then scrolling to find Noah's contact.
She sends him a text and crosses her fingers in hopes that he would respond.
Lindsay:
hii noah!!!!! do you wanna help me and leshawna with a birthday party for tyler!! i really want you to help bc ur one of my bffs!!!! ;D and ur also really smart
Noah was awfully taking a long time to answer her texts. It was kind of weird, for a guy who likes being online and gaming all the time, he was almost never on to answer Lindsay's text. She wondered why that was. Maybe he's just a really busy guy, is what all she could deduce.
Lindsay continued to impatiently wait for a response before clicking out of their chats and opening the newly made group chat with the others.
TYLERS BDAY!!!!!!!!!!!
Lindsay added 5 particpants to the group.
Lindsay: i added you guys so we can plan tylers bday!!!!<3
Harold: That is WONDERFUL. Luckily, I have already planned my gift for Tyler.
Cody: Mine too!
Geoff: ALRIGHT!!! YAHOOO. WAIT LEMME PLAN THE PARTY THATS MY THING
DJ: yay! we have 1 week so hopefully we are organized about this
Leshawna: oh dw, we got noah and me as the main supervisors, so we're gonna rule this
Leshawna: btw reminder for y'all. you HAVE to keep it this whole thing a secret from tyler!
Lindsay: ya! i really want a perfect birthday for tyler, so lets talk ideas! x
Soon, they began gathering ideas for the party; it was decided it'd be held at Lindsay's house. Cody suggested that they could bring Tyler to the arcade at first, which was well received by everyone in the group, Lindsay and Leshawna obliged asking them to send any great locations. Meanwhile, Noah had finally answered Lindsay's texts.
Noah:
yes sure lindsay
what exactly have u guys planned right now?
Lindsay:
yay!!! okay we're bringing him to an arcade first to have fun and then the party will take at my place!!
Noah:
wow, solid plan. so then what am i needed for again
Lindsay:
idk!!! make sure that we're doing good! ;D
Noah:
im being sarcastic, anyway all that sounds great
btw alejandros being nosy, he wants to help too
more specifically with decorating your place
Lindsay:
oh! is he beside you right now?
Noah:
yes, hes laying on my shoulder and currently crushing it i should add
Lindsay:
LOLLL
hi alejandro!!!!
Noah:
im not letting him type but he says hi
anyway is he allowed?
he can keep a secret, i think thats pretty obvious
Lindsay:
okay!!! i guess he could decorate for a while while i go out for the cake
i do trust his style more than u for decorating tbh!
Noah:
do you guys really think i have bad taste in things that much
Lindsay:
YES!

Things were beginning to become into frutition much to Lindsay's relief, she was super happy with the way things are turning.
She had Leshawna and Noah who would be assisting her out with the planning, and would help her out on cake duty, while Alejandro participated on the decorating with Geoff, who absolutely demanded to be on decorating duty.
Cody, DJ and Harold both successfully managed to find a good arcade to meet Tyler at when the day comes, so that was all covered too.
The only thing that wasn't covered was her gift.
Lindsay quickly began working on the patterns layout. After what was about 3 hours of discarding and re-sketching patterns, she was finally satisfied with the final outcome pattern she came up with.
The tracksuit would have the classic red color scheme Tyler loved, with his name etched onto the back of the suit and adorned with simple, yet cute white stars across the sleeves.
It sounded simple enough, but the process to actually make it was going to be a longer journey than Lindsay anticipated for.
It didn't bother Lindsay as much because she would do anything for Tyler.
Lindsay began snipping pieces of fabrics, bringing it along to drape against a basic male mannequin she bought in advance. She continued like this for a couple hours before eventually pausing for a quick break. Suddenly, her phone chimed with a notification.
When she grabs her phone to check who it was, she immediately breaks into a fond smile when she realizes who.
Tyler:
hey linds!!! could i come over? i miss you:D
Lindsay almost found her fingers typing 'yes' but she stops herself when she looks around at the mannequin in beside her. She bites her lip, she hated letting Tyler down but it had to be a surprise.
Lindsay:
aweee hii babee!! i wish but im actually kind of busy right now
Tyler:
oh no with what?
Lindsay was pretty horrible at lying, and she didn't feel so good lying to Tyler of all people too. She had to act quick.
Lindsay:
my sister paulas over with some friends right now
Huge, huge lie! Her sister wasn't even home right now! Lindsay prayed Tyler wouldn't push any further, because she might start slipping up if that were the case.
Thankfully, Tyler didn't seem to question it.
Tyler:
aw man, thats okay! we can hang out another time then
i love u babe<3
Lindsay:
i love you more babe!!!!<3
Lindsay sighs with relief, she turns off her phone before crashing down to the floor exhaustedly. She took a glance over at the mannequin once more.
Okay, back to work!

After 6 days of hard labour and double checking the seams way too many times; Lindsay was finally finished with the product and it felt extremely rewarding to see the outcome of it all. It turned out exactly how she'd wanted it to be and thankfully right on time, as tomorrow was Tyler's birthday. She packed the clothes into a gift bag and wrote a short letter for Tyler to read first, tucking it in neatly inside.
The decorations she ordered came delivered right at her door, she tucked them safely into a corner for when Alejandro and Geoff come over to begin decorating tomorrow.
Lindsay made a visit to the bakery shop with Leshawna and Noah, deciding on which cake would be best for Tyler. Her eyes then landed on a beautiful red velvet cake with chocolate flakes sprinkled on top.
"I'd like that one please!"
The worker nodded, grabbing the cake gently before placing it on the counter. Noah reminds Lindsay to ask for custom writing, something she almost inevitably forgot. She quickly tells the worker to write a simple 'happy birthday Tyler!' with a heart.

When the day came, Tyler was invited over to the arcade with Cody, Harold, and DJ.
While Leshawna and Noah kept in contact with the three to check when Tyler would be coming back, Alejandro and Geoff came over to begin decorating for the party.
Lindsay took the gifts, including her own, and placed them on the floor around the table.
After Alejandro and Geoff were finished with the decorations, Leshawna and Noah informed everyone that Tyler and the others were on their way.
Alejandro helped Lindsay place the cake on the table gently as Geoff got the candles and a lighter.
When the door finally clicked open, everyone chanted out a loud 'surprise!' to Tyler who practically had tears welling up in his eyes. Lindsay ran over to him and gave him a hug that he immediately returned back.
"Happy birthday, Tyler!" She squealed out, still holding a tight grip on him.
Tyler smiled, laughing delightfully before replying back, "You did all this for me?"
"Of course I did! You're my boyfriend!" Lindsay pulled away before planting a sweet kiss on his cheek. Tyler could only blush with a sloppy grin.
"Alright, now let's sing happy birthday to the birthday man!" Geoff called out, breaking the soft moment from just a second ago.
Leshawna went ahead and turned off the lights, the candles luminating the room as they all began to sing 'Happy birthday' to Tyler. As Alejandro and DJ told him to make a wish, he blew the candles with a smile on his face.
"Okay, you better open the gifts we got you now." Noah said. Despite such a bored tone, his lips curved with a slight smile.
With the excitement of a 5 year old, Tyler began to open up each gift bag, profusely thanking everyone for each one.
Lindsay's gift was the last one left unopened, and she gave Tyler a smile, beckoning him to open it up. Happily, he brings the gift bag into view and he first picks up the letter.
The letter read out,
To my Tyler ♡
Happy birthday! I love you so much.
You are the happiness in my life. I hope the gift makes you happy. I made it all by myself!

Tyler smiles and glances back over at Lindsay before returning back to the gift bag. He put the letter aside and pulled out a beautifully well made tracksuit, just for him.
He goes over and hugs Lindsay, picking her up in a twirl. She slightly squeals at the sudden gesture but gladly wraps her arms around his neck. "You like it?"
"Are you kidding? I love it, Lindsay!" Tyler chirps, peppering slight kisses around her face. Lindsay giggles and eventually, he lets go.
Lindsay blushes, her voice became soft and delicate as she says, "Happy birthday, babe." before her lips brushed against his.
Lindsay adored how passionate Tyler could get. She would remember Tyler's joy forever, and she was glad she was the one for it all.
