Chapter Text
Shelagh was a quiet, timmied child. Since her mother's passing, Shelagh went to church with her neighbour, Morąg, and her family. She always loved god, and she knew god always loved her. But since her mother died, she relyed on god more then anyone in her life. She would always go to god. She knew from a young age that one day she would marry god.
When Shelagh was about 12, she went to her father in a strong way, using her strong Scottish voice, "Dad, after i finish school, i will train as a Midwife, and i will move away and to marry god. I found something in the papers, and there is this order called, The order of St. Raymond Nonustues, and they help and service woman in pregnancy and labour. But they also help around the community"
"Oh no Shelagh. You must stay here to look after me" her dad being even thermer
"Dad. I can't just look after you all of the time! I want to save woman that in labour and marry god. In order for me to do that i need to move to England"
"Shelagh, it's 1939, being a nun is something that you would do it you couldn't marry a man"
"Dad. This is what i want."
" I don't want my only child to not marry and carry on the Mannion bloodline"
" I don't care about the 'Mannion bloodline' dad! What would mummy think if you stopped me from doing what i feel called to do in life"
" Don't you dare say her name" Shelagh's father rasied his finger
" Why can't i say her name? "
" She left me and left me with you. All you do is go to church and the library. You refuse to help in the shop and if i do look at you or talk to you, you look and sound too much like your mother"
" How is that my fault? It's not my fault that i am more like mummy and nothing like you" as Shelagh said that she walked out and ran to the church
