Work Text:

Megumi was finishing getting ready in front of the mirror while trying—unsuccessfully—to ignore his father's words.

"Are you really going out with that mysterious alpha again?" The white-haired alpha was exalted.

"I never said he was an alpha." The dark-haired man retorted.

“Do you really have to?! Every time you go out with him, you come back reeking of oranges! It’s as if he’s already marking his territory!” The alpha looked like he was about to tear his hair out. “Megumi, you are not meeting that alpha without my scent!”

“What?! That’s ridiculous! I’m not a pup anymore! And you can’t tell me what to do!” The young man’s patience was wearing thin. “What are you afraid of, anyway? Wasn't it you who raised me to beat the crap out of any alpha who tries his luck?”

“This is different, Gumi. What if this guy breaks your heart? What if he just wants to take advantage of you? What if…”

“For God's sake, Satoru, you're being ridiculous. I can take care of myself.”

“I know you can, but I raised you since you were a kid! I didn't carry you in my womb for nine months just for you to trade me for some random alpha!” Gojo gestured dramatically.

“Ugh, please never say that again!” Megumi glared at him with an expression of disgust.

Satoru faked a sad look and closed his eyes.

“Mom! Megumi's being mean again!” He shouted.

Suguru, who had been nearby simply watching the two argue, finally intervened.

“I thought you were the ‘mom’? Seeing as you ‘carried him for nine months’ and all that?” The long-haired omega looked amused as he observed the situation.

“Suguru, please, don’t encourage his craziness!” Megumi knew he wouldn't be able to handle both his dads' antics at the same time.

“Honey, let the boy breathe; you know we raised him right, he can take care of himself.” He placed a hand on his husband’s shoulder, trying to calm him down. “Besides, if anyone tries to hurt our pup, I’ll take them out myself.” Even though he was an omega, Geto could be more intimidating than any alpha.

“That’s enough, I’m heading out! Bye!” Megumi turned away quickly, trying to hide his embarrassment. Even after years of being raised by the two eccentric adults, he still hadn't gotten used to all these strange displays of affection.

Before reaching the door, the younger omega turned around, looking at Satoru for a few seconds.

"Dad?" he said hesitantly.

"Yes?" A smile threatened to form on the alpha's lips, imagining he would finally hear some warm words from his son.

"Can I borrow your credit card?" he asked tentatively.

Silence fell as a grimace formed on the albino's face.

"And does your mysterious alpha happen to have no money? Just so you know, I didn't raise a son to end up footing the bill for a grown ass man!" Even though his voice betrayed anger, the alpha's pheromones remained calm.

"Satoru, stop teasing him, you know he rarely asks for things like this, and you were going to lend it anyway." Suguru interjected.

"Fine..." Gojo said, pulling the card from his pocket as if he’d expected to use it today. "And be back before ten!"

Megumi simply rolled his eyes, took the card, and left the house.

The young man closed the front door and took a deep breath; he loved his parents, but sometimes they could be a bit intense, not exactly in a bad way, just... a lot.

He slipped his keys into his pocket and grabbed his phone, sending a message to Yuuji to let him know he was on his way. They had agreed to meet at a restaurant two blocks away, an easy walk.

Stopping in front of the building, he glanced through the window looking for a shock of pink hair, spotting the young man at one of the tables further back. The place wasn't very big, it was a small, home-style restaurant that was perfect for the omega's antisocial tendencies.

He stepped inside, the faint sound of a bell announcing his arrival and drawing the attention of the alpha, who was now waving with a smile on his face.

The omega gave a slight wave in return and made his way over to the table.

"Hey, Gumi!" The alpha held Fushiguro’s hand, planting a kiss between his fingers. "You look incredibly handsome today!"

"Idiot..." Try as he might to use harsh words, Megumi couldn't hide how those affectionate gestures affected him. "You don't look too bad yourself."

"Coming from you, that’s a huge compliment!" he said with a wink.

Their flirting was interrupted by the waiter handing them the menus; as they began reading the options, the omega seemed to be trying to hide his flushed face behind the paper. In the end, Yuuji decided on a plate of pasta with meatballs, and Megumi chose the same, along with a sweet red wine to suit the alpha's taste.

They ended up chatting a bit more while waiting for their meal, sipping their wine. Somehow, the conversation turned to the omega’s parents; he seemed a little more at ease talking about himself after a few sips.

"Your parents seem kind of intense, I’m almost afraid to meet them..." the Alpha remarked after hearing Megumi talk about his last argument with them.

"They are a bit overprotective, sure, but they also know I can take care of myself; they taught me well. You should have seen the first time I punched a stranger, Suguru had this odd look on his face, and Satoru looked like he was about to cry tears of joy..."

"I think I can picture a younger version of you punching someone. At least... did he deserve it?"

"Well... It's complicated," the omega said as he began to tell the story.

It was a Sunday afternoon, and Geto and Gojo were walking at a leisurely pace, slow enough for an eight-year-old to easily keep up.

Little Megumi walked beside Satoru, who was deep in conversation with his husband. His eyes wandered to the sidewalk, where a box sat containing two fuzzy little balls that seemed to be moving. Glancing back at his parents, he saw they were still engrossed in their discussion; he didn't want to interrupt, so it wouldn't be a big deal to step away for a moment to take a look, right?

With that in mind, he hurried toward the box as fast as his little legs would carry him, discovering that the fuzzy balls were actually two puppies. He was delighted, reaching out his small hands to feel the softness of their fur; one was as black as night, while the other, though presumably white, was smudged with dust.

He was so engrossed in the pups that he forgot to let his parents know where he was; when he glanced toward the spot where the two adults should have been, he was startled not to see those familiar figures.

It hadn't been long since they’d parted ways, if he ran, he might be able to catch up to them, but a whimper interrupted his line of thought. If he left now, the pups would be left alone and vulnerable, who knew what might happen to them?

With that in mind, he decided his best option was to wait for his parents to find him, which likely wouldn't take long. He couldn't hide from them even when he wanted to, especially not from Satoru, it was as if the alpha had six eyes instead of two.

Megumi always had the habit of staying calm, even in complicated situations, so instead of starting to cry or wondering where her parents were, he just sat silently beside the dogs.

A few minutes passed when a movement caught his attention; a stranger had approached and was standing in front of him.

"Hey little one, are you lost?" The stranger who was talking to him didn't have any apparent scent; he was probably a beta. He stared at Megumi while waiting for an answer, and when he didn't receive one, he tried again. "My name is Keiji, are you with your parents?"

Megumi just stood up and stood in front of the box with his fists clenched, where he could protect the puppies.

"Look, I don't want to hurt you, it's dangerous to be here alone, I can help you find your daddy and mommy."

The little boy remained silent, his parents had always told him not to talk to strangers.

It was when Keiji tried to grab his arm that Megumi reacted faster, hitting the stranger right between the legs.

"Fuck! Shit! I was trying to help!" Keiji was now on his knees on the ground, and his lamentations were interrupted by the shout of a familiar voice.

"Stay away from my pup!" Suguru yelled at the boy, while Satoru bent down to check on his son.

The white haired man examined the child for any injuries or signs of distress, and once he confirmed everything was fine, he placed his hands on his son's shoulders and looked him in the eye.

"I am so..." The little boy already knew a scolding was coming. "...so proud of you, my son!" There were small tears in the corners of the alpha's eyes.

Megumi was confused, so he looked to his other father for answers, finding him arguing with that Keiji fellow.

"Your son hit me!" Keiji was on his feet now, but visibly shaken.

"Well, maybe if you didn't approach children like a creep, you wouldn't have gotten hit!" The omega glared at him with disdain. "And how embarrassing! Getting beaten by a little boy? What a shame."

"I didn't do anything weird! You and your son are weirdos!"

Suguru’s face shifted into a chilling smile that masked a feigned calm."Get out of here before I finish what my son started." His voice was quiet, yet left no room for doubt, he meant it.

Once Keiji was out of sight and only the three of them remained, Geto turned his attention to finally face his kid.

"I’m still angry at you for disappearing without a word, but I’m glad to see you aren't hurt." The Omega’s eyes shone with a quiet pride.

Itadori struggled to hold back his laughter as Megumi spoke. Picturing a smaller version of the man before him punching a stranger shouldn't have been that funny, but apparently, it was.

"And what happened to the dogs after that?" the pink-haired teen asked once he’d caught his breath.

"They’re called Kuro and Shiro now; you can meet them, if you want..." Fushiguro looked away, saying the last part in a lower voice.

"Yeah! That’s a great idea!"

At that moment, it seemed like a terrible idea. Yuuji was due to arrive in ten minutes, and everything was chaotic. Megumi had thought that finally introducing his “mystery boyfriend” would get his parents to back off. He was sorely mistaken, the teasing only got worse, accompanied by promises to show photo albums and recount embarrassing stories from his childhood.

He considered making up an excuse for the Alpha and calling off the dinner more than once, but since they were already serious about their relationship and a future together, this meeting had to happen sooner or later, it was better to just get it over with.

Gojo was in the kitchen; it was a miracle he hadn’t set the house on fire yet. Geto was supervising, ensuring they wouldn't get poisoned during the meal. Megumi tried to convince the Alpha that he could test out his new culinary skills another time, but the man insisted he needed to “demonstrate power through the ability to provide a meal” or whatever that was supposed to mean.

Fushiguro kept himself busy with the dogs, trying to hide his nervousness. Petting their soft fur always calmed his mind.

At the sound of the doorbell, the two animals came running toward the door, whining as they scratched at the wood.

The omega tried to hold the dogs back while clumsily opening the door; he managed to keep them from knocking Itadori over, but it was impossible to stop their wet snouts from bumping against the young man's seemingly new clothes.

"Sorry, I tried to train them, but Satoru spoiled them too much," he said while letting them go, after making sure they wouldn't jump on the newcomer.

"No, it’s fine, they’re adorable!" He crouched down to pet the dogs, then stood up to greet Megumi with... a kiss? A hug? A handshake?

The omega was just as confused, extending his hand in a move that resulted in an awkward greeting and a half-hug.

"Wow, that was painful to watch!" The voice appeared along with a shock of white hair.

"Babe, don't be like that; you were even worse back when we were young," Suguru said, resting a hand on Satoru’s shoulder while fixing the newcomer alpha with an expression that could only be described as calm yet terrifying.

"Please, don't mind them." Megumi nearly hid his face in embarrassment. "Gojo, isn't dinner burning?" he asked, trying to change the subject.

“Really? Gojo? Not even a ‘Dad’ or ‘Papa,’ like you used to call me when you were a pup?” An annoying smirk played on the albino’s lips.

“Toru, I’m really smelling something burning right now.” Geto spoke as he tightened his grip on his husband’s shoulder, the man caught the hint and stepped back. “So, aren’t you going to introduce me to your boyfriend, bunny?”

“Please, don’t…” The omega grumbled in annoyance at the childhood nickname.

The young alpha didn’t seem fazed; instead, he walked with determination in his eyes until he was standing right in front of Suguru.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you! My name is Yuuji Itadori, and I promise to take very good care of your son!” He bowed slowly, subtly releasing pheromones of… submission?

“Yuuji, there’s no need for that!” Megumi exclaimed, not wanting to make the situation any more complicated than it already was.

"Sorry, my grandfather always told me that was the right thing to do when greeting the pack leader. I don't want it to look like I'm intruding or anything!"

"But he’s not..." the young omega was cut off before he could finish his sentence.

"Thank you, that was really polite of you, Itadori," Suguru said, letting a half-smile slip out. "Come on, my husband is finishing up dinner, I hope you like stew."

The couple followed the older man toward the kitchen, where Satoru was already setting a pot on the table.

Yuuji stepped forward to greet the other father-in-law but was taken by surprise when the man stopped right in front of him with impressive speed, extending his hand.

"I'm Satoru Gojo, dear Megumi's father, though I bet he’s already told you about me. I’d love to say it’s a pleasure to meet you, but given how often I’ve smelled your scent in this house, I feel like I know you already!" he said with a teasing smile.

"DAD!" The omega’s shout went ignored; Satoru smiled even wider seeing the flush on his son's face, though, much to his disappointment, the young alpha didn't seem particularly bothered.

"I'm sorry about that! It's a pleasure to finally meet you, Gumi talks about the two of you a lot," he said, shaking the man's hand firmly.

"Gumi, huh? You two are already on a nickname basis?" Satoru gave a wry smile.

"Wow! I'm starving! I think we should start eating! Preferably in silence, so we can savor this delicious meal." Megumi slapped his hands on the table, cutting off the teasing and leaving no room for argument.

"Yes, let's eat. Satoru, stop trying to terrorize the kid; it isn't working," Suguru said in a calm, friendly tone. He was immediately obeyed, saving Yuuji, who was beginning to struggle to keep his composure.

The meal was relatively peaceful, with the two adults exchanging embarrassing remarks and using nicknames Megumi didn't even remember having.

But the peace didn't last long; once they finished eating, Suguru stood up, and before anyone could ask what was happening, he reappeared carrying that dreaded photo album.

"Honey, clear the table while I walk the lovebirds to the living room, okay?" The long-haired omega smiled at his husband while gesturing toward the younger couple.

Much to Megumi's dismay, Yuuji seemed quite excited.

"I can't believe I'll finally get to see a mini-version of you!" the young alpha beamed.

"At least you aren't thinking about having kids just for that!" the albino remarked, chuckling in amusement as he watched the two young men flushering.

"Gojo, I swear to God, if you keep this up, I won't make up excuses when the neighbors come to complain about the noise you two make at night!" Megumi practically growled.

"It’s not even that loud..." the white haired man replied, pouting.

"Have you two never wondered why I sleep with headphones on?" the omega asked incredulously.

"Teenage rebellion?" Satoru guessed, while Suguru simply shrugged.

"Enough! Let's go, Yuuji!" The dark-haired man pulled the alpha by the hand, heading toward the living room.

"Look, Sugu! Our son is a bossy omega, just like you!" Satoru chirped.

"What do you mean?" Yuuji looked genuinely confused.

"Oh, well, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with an alpha obeying his omega; I actually find it poetic, you know?" the older alpha explained cheerfully.

"That’s not it; I just... thought you two were alphas," he tried to explain, almost tripping over his words. "Not that I think an omega can't be the pack leader—I'm not that kind of guy, you know?"

"You thought Suguru was an alpha? And the pack leader?" Satoru exclaimed.

"Oh, honey, you should have seen it, he bowed and even released submissive pheromones!" the older omega said, laughing.

"My husband gets submissive pheromones, and I, the actual pack leader, get a measly handshake?!" Gojo’s expression showed he was offended.

"Toru, we agreed to lead this pack together, don't start," Suguru explained.

"Well, I thought he was an Alpha, he has a really intimidating vibe," Yuuji said in his own defense. "Megumi mentioned being adopted, so the whole Alpha-with-Alpha thing didn't seem weird to me..."

"I gave birth to that boy myself! How dare you?" Satoru was still exclaiming in shock.

Megumi simply ignored his parents and kept pulling his boyfriend toward the living room; they were soon followed by Suguru, who excitedly placed the photo album on the coffee table.

"You know, we don't have any photos of Megumi as a baby, but we do have this one from the day we adopted him." Geto pointed to a picture showing a Megumi of five years old hiding behind a little girl who looked just a few years older; she was smiling at the camera while holding the hand of a younger Satoru, who wore a look of pride on his face.

"He looked just like a scared little kitten!" Yuuji smiled at the photo. "They should’ve called you 'Kitten' instead of 'Bunny'!" Much to Megumi’s dismay, his boyfriend wasn’t going to let that nickname go anytime soon.

"Oh, but there’s a great story behind that nickname!" The older man flipped through a few pages, pausing to point at a photo of a young Megumi surrounded by several little white fluffballs. "Our little guy was always a very shy child, and it took a while for him to open up to us. That day, Satoru and I decided to take him and Tsumiki to the zoo to try and have a nice family moment."

"Can you believe the first time we saw this brat smile was while looking at those damn rabbits?!" Gojo appeared in the room, gesturing wildly. "We had such a hard time convincing him we had to go home; he wanted to live with the rabbits—can you believe it? Two loving, wealthy dads, a huge house, and he’d trade all that for rabbits?"

“You guys were too loud…” Megumi tried to defend himself.

“If it weren’t for Tsumiki, I bet he would’ve reported us for child abduction. The two of them were really close, Megumi cried for weeks when she went to study abroad,” the alpha said.

“I didn’t cry…”

“Right, you just stayed locked in your room like a recluse, listening to emo music…” the man scoffed.

“She seems like a nice person, I hope I get to meet her someday!” Itadori commented, trying to prevent another argument from breaking out.

"She always comes back to spend the holidays with us, maybe my lovely son could invite you to celebrate with us, too!" Satoru exclaimed excitedly.

Megumi thought about protesting, unsure if he could survive another dinner like this, especially with his sister there, but seeing how excited Yuuji was made his heart warm.

The four of them kept looking through the photos, Satoru and Suguru doing their best to embarrass Megumi as much as possible, Yuuji soaking up every new detail he could about his boyfriend, and Megumi trying not to wish the ground would swallow him whole amidst the  teasing.

As the clock neared 10 PM, Yuuji decided not to overstay his welcome, saying he needed to head home. He said goodbye to his in-laws and walked to the door, with Megumi accompanying him.

He paused in the doorway, gazing at his boyfriend with eyes full of tenderness.

"You know, I had a lot of fun today, even though I was scared of your parents," he said, looking at Megumi.

"All things considered, I didn't hate it either," he said nonchalantly, though a small smile betrayed his true feelings.

"We could do this more often," the alpha said, placing a hand on the omega's face.

"I wouldn't mind." The dark-haired teen nuzzled his face into Yuuji's palm, inhaling the citrusy scent he loved so much.

Itadori said nothing more; he simply leaned in toward his partner, who wasted no time, closing his eyes and closing the gap between them to share a slow, emotion-filled kiss.

The moment, which felt like an eternity, was abruptly broken by the exaggerated sound of vomit, Megumi didn't need to open his eyes to know who it was.

"Dad! Could you not be annoying, just for once?!" The omega looked furious, but Yuuji just laughed at the situation.

"It's alright, Gumi, I'll text you when I get home, okay?" The alpha planted a loud kiss on his boyfriend's forehead and left, closing the door behind him.

Megumi turned to face his father and was surprised to see tears in his eyes.

"My little pup is all grown up now!" Satoru said, his voice trembling as he pulled his son into an awkward but firm hug.

"Dad, you're crushing me!" the omega tried to say as he saw his other father approaching. "Sugu! Help!"

Suguru just laughed as he walked over to the two of them.

"A family hug without me?" he said, squeezing his son close along with his husband.

Hidden within the suffocating embrace, Megumi allowed himself to smile; despite everything, he considered himself lucky to belong to this family, even if his parents were a bit unhinged, they were still his dads, and he loved them.
