Chapter Text
Parrot always trusted his two teamates. Theo and Reina. Some could say they were the dream team.
That was the truth.
Nobody could deny that.
That was until the unfortunate events of Parrots death. Parrot was found dead on the warm kingdom floor. It was a harsh contrast to his cold bloody body.
"Wifies..? What?? You're dead?? Where am I?"
"A safer place now Parrot. Just come with me."
Parrot's last moments were unexpected. His wings were dirty after a days work. He was preening them himself in his room right before he was going to bed. He hears someone unlock his door. There were only 2 people who had keys to his room. Theo and Reina.
So as he turns around he wasn't surprised when he saw his closest friend enter the room. Theo. That's why Parrot just looked away.
"Hey Theo" Parrot says, looking back at his wings.
"Sup Parrot." Theos voice was different. But Parrot brushed off the tone of voice he's using.
.
.
.
.
"Theo?"
…
"Theo!"
"Hm..? Sorry. I was thinking of something." Theo's voice was flat.
"Theo you good bro? You seem off today." Parrots voice was full of worry now. That made Theos heart twist more with guilt for what he's about to do. He knows its for the greater good.
"Parrot."
"Hm?"
"I'm so sorry Parrot. But this has to be done."
Theo took Parrot by surprise. Parrot, who was unarmed, put up a good fight. He really did. But he was unmatched for someone with a sword. It's a shame Theo went through with this.
Parrots blood was found smeared all over the sword, the walls and the floor. His once nice and clean feathers were crusted with blood and limp on his side the communicator on each other's wrists buzzed.
ParrotX2 was slain by ???
"shit."
Theo forgot about that. But it should be fine if he gets out of there on time. Not to mention everyone is sleeping so they'll probably get the message tomorrow.
In the morning, as Reina wakes up. She sees her communicator buzzed as she was sleeping. She goes to open the message.
ParrotX2 was slain by ???
"What..?" she says, she was shocked. She jumped out of bed, not even bothering to change out of her PJs. She rushed to parrots room.
She had muttered a few words under her breath, she was scared. Scared for Parrot.
'Parrot is not dead, I'm sure of it.'
She gently opens the door.
As she opens it she gets a smell of death. She pauses before opening the door fully.
"Oh my god." she freezes, looking into his room.
'How did someone get into his room?? He can't be dead.' She checks his pulse. Nothing. The body is cold. He's been dead for hours.
The scene wasn't a pretty one. Parrots blood and feathers mingle together to a pretty gruesome scene. He had stab wounds. The person who killed him knows where to stab to get an easy kill. Once in the neck and the other in the heart.
She rushes to find Theo. So he can help her find out who killed him.
Theo was woken up by someone shaking him. "Theo!! Theo wake up!" It was Reina. She had found Parrots body.
"Hmm..?? What's happening.." Theo's voice was laced with sleep. He clearly wasn't paying too close of attention.
"Theo, Parrot is DEAD." Her voice was a bit shaky, she was trying to hold herself together. Her hands were bloody from looking checking parrots pulse.
She doesn't know why she did, it was obvious he was dead.
Theo shoots up out of bed. He was a good actor. He looked like he didn't know what was happening.
"Reina.. the blood on your hands.. is that yours or his..?" Theo had just the right about of shakiness in his voice that wouldn't seem to dramatic, but it seemed like he was genuinely about to cry.
"H..his. His, Theo.."
"Oh my god.."
Parrot's room. They wanted to go in but Reina thought she might collapse if she saw him like that again.
Theo, god was he smart. He stayed out of the room and comforted Reina. She needed the comfort, obviously.
You never know who was watching.
Theo would lead Reina down fake paths, ones that seemed legit enough, until they weren't.
Theo hoped Parrot wasn't too upset with him. Obviously that was the last thing Theo wanted, but in the end. What could he do about how he feels? Nothing. Theo can do nothing. Just like how Parrot could do nothing against someone with a sword. Just like how he could do nothing when his best friend attacked him.
Parrots feelings were unknown. Obviously, he was dead. He was MURDERED. But nobody could figure out who.
Not even one of his closest friends Reina. Could figure it out. All the evidence, Theo would never lie, ever. He was always telling the truth, considering the fact his friend is dead.
"God Theo! Parrot is DEAD and the murder is walking free! Probably living their best life. And Parrot.. god.. Parrot is dead. Hopefully his death wasn't too painful.." Reina was about to cry again. Theo went to her side and rubbed her upper back.
"I'm always here for you, don't forget that, and plus Parrot is in a safer place now. He probably doesn't want us to worry about him. You know how he is."
Reina just nods at his words. She wants to speak, but the words catch in her throat before she says anything.
"I'm going.. going to bed.. yeah.. it's been a long day." Reina's voice was laced with exhaustion. She was so tired of looking for who killed her best friend.
Going down a whole bunch of fake paths. It was pathetic. She should know by now. But she doesn't.
Parrot was always the brains of the group. And Reina was the one who kept everyone in line. And Theo. Theo was Theo.
It was a nice night. A peaceful one at that. It's the calm after the storm. Theo couldn't sleep that night. It could have been from guilt. Theo wanted Parrot to be safe, And now he was, he was safe up above. Or wherever you go where you die. Theo would like to believe that Parrot is looking over him, he doesn't even care if it's in a bad way. Theo was glad that he was the one who took his best friend out. Not anyone else trying to harm him.
It sounds twisted, but to Theo, it was relief. He doesn't have to worry about Parrot dying on the battlefield anymore.
"God Theo… you're so suspicious but I know you didn't kill Parrot.. you don't have any reason to. But you keep leading us down fake paths.. god this is so hard." A few tears roll down her cheeks. She quickly wipes them away. She told Theo she was going to sleep. But she realises she can't.
The scene of her best friend dead is something that she replays in her mind.
Feathers everywhere. Blood mingled in-between feathers. Blood smeared on the wall and the floor. It was disturbing.
As she thinks more and more she remembers something.
"Me and Theo are the only ones with keys to his room.. but that wouldn't make any sense. He doesn't have a reason to kill. But there's no other explanation." She mumbles to herself for a little while longer.
She won't get answers by sitting around and doing nothing. She comes up with a plan to go look through Theo's room.
The plan was simple. Tell Theo to go out and do something like find her something, then she goes and snoops around his room.
Nothing could go wrong with her plan.
"Theo, I don't think I can go outside right now. Could you please gather a few bouquets of flowers for Parrots grave?" She takes a pause. "I just feel like if I leave I'm gonna be sick" Reina knew he couldn't say no to that.
She was obviously lying but Theo couldn't catch on.
"Sure? I don't see why not." Theo doesn't see a problem with her request, so he heads out.
He remembers Parrots favorite kind of flowers are daffodils. He goes and gets some of those for Reina to decorate his grave.
Reina guesses she has roughly 30 minutes to an hour before Theo gets back, so she has to hurry.
She makes sure to put things back exactly where she found them.
It takes her about 20 minutes to search half his room. She's so dead if she's caught. As she searches and searches the more time passes.
She finds one of Theo's sweaters. It had blood on it. It was dried but it made her feel sick to her stomach. It wasn't his since there wasn't any holes in the sweater. It looked like he would have been hugging someone with the way the blood was smeared.
She looses track of time. She hears something fall, something like plastic. Shit.
She turns around and she sees Theo. The thing that fell was a bouquet of flowers wrapped in plastic.
"What are you doing Reina." His voice was unreadable.
"I was Uhm.. I.. I was just.." Reina was hesitating. She had no good excuse.
"You know Reina. I never wanted it to come to this. I never wanted it but you leave me no choice."
"W..what??" Reina realises that she doesn't have her sword on her. She left it in her room.
"Reina, you never know who was watching. I knew you were onto me, I just didn't want to say anything so I didn't have to kill you too. But you've left me no choice." What Theo is about to do is catching upto him. He looks to the side briefly. He takes out his sword.
Reina stiffens. She realises that the person she called her best friend, was the murderer of Parrot.
"Y..You why.. why would you kill him.. Parrot was our best friend Theo!" Reina's voice was shaking, she couldn't tell if it was from fear or from sadness.
“I'm so sorry Reina.”
With that Theo lunges towards Reina. He impales the sword into her.
Theo holds her as she takes her last breath.
"Say hi to Parrot for me.."
“w..why..?” She rasps out before going limp.
ReinaDrop was slain by ???
Her death was quick and simple. Thankfully.
She gasps as if she was slowly emerging from water.
“Parrot? Y..you’re dead..? Are we dead?”
Parrot laughs softly before grabbing Reina's hand.
“Let's go, Reina.”
