Chapter Text
If you had told Katie a week ago she’d be crouched behind a bush spying on Tina of all people, she would have laughed in your face and scurried off to whatever new endeavor she’s absorbed herself in at the moment.
As required for any sneaky spy activity she gets up to, she’s pulled out her old disguise, mustache and all.
Katie watches as Tina giggles softly at something a certain fat red panda says.
Ewron.
Katie shouldn’t care— she doesn’t care, at all actually! Though, the way the light in his eyes seems near nonexistent to the previous brightness it held before, the way he presents himself now, less confident and relaxed as Katie knows him to be.
He’s being.. weird, Katie decided on while venting her frustrations to the portraits hainging in her HQ bedroom. Katie can’t remember when she started noticing the small changes, but it hit her hard.
She obviously knows he’s up to something.
She doesn’t think she can handle another one of his tricks, since the last one ended with her literally dying and being transported into a new body. Katie shakes her head lightly and squints at the pair, both perched on one of the balconies in the North mansion. Ewron talking animatedly about something, waving his hands in several different gestures while Tina nods along.
Contrary to a few days ago, Ewron’s skin is no longer a pale sheet of white, instead reverting back to its usual hue. Interesting.
Katie brings a hand to her chin. Seems he got over whatever sickness he had previously. Notepad in hand, Katie jots down a few key points in his changed behavior.
- stiff, unsure of actions
- more ugly
Katie sighs and chews on the end of her pen. She flips to the next page.
WHAT TF IS HE DOING TGIS TIME
- more uranium in my shit
- something with kfc?
Looking back up, Katie’s eyes land on the balcony again. Tina’s nowhere to be seen, and Ewron’s sitting up now.
And he’s looking right at her.
“Oh— what the fuck?” Katie startles, nearly dropping her notes. She crouches down more, almost lying on the ground now. Katie considers pulling out her waystone and getting the fuck out of there, before she hears footsteps making their way towards her.
“Oh fuck, oh fuck,” Katie doesn’t waste a second making the decision that yes, she does indeed want to get the fuck out of there, and hurriedly pulls her waystone out.
“Hello, Katie!”
Goddamnit.
Katie looks up, only to be met with the grinning face of the guy she least wants to talk to right now.
“Well hello, Ewron! Isn’t it just such a nice day? Having a great hike right now!” Katie lets out, moving to put her hands behind her head in faux relaxation.
“On the ground?” He says.
“Yep! Yep, yep, yep! New trend.”
“Oh, where did you hear about this trend?”
“Um, around.”
“Around where?”
“Around.”
Katie holds her breath. An awkward tension filling the air. Katie allows herself to get a little lost in thought while hes not yapping her head off, which, now that she thinks about it, it’s weird that hes not. Usually when shes with Ewron theres never silence to bask in.
He looks… more put together. The furr on his tail is kept, completely still on the ground. Its usually swaying, transparent in what his emotions are. His eyes are a lighter blue, piercing into her own eyes like hes inspecting her just as much as shes inspecting him. His ears are perfectly pointed up, instead of their usual droopy look. Katie can’t help but feel a little scared, scared of Ewron. A lingering fear in the back of her head that somethings wrong, that she needs to escape.
She stays anyway.
“Kurwa, Katie,” The panda huffs out, finally, “do you think I am dumb?”
Katie blinks. “Yes?” She answers like its obvious. Ewron doesn’t pull his usual mock offense act, all he does is stare. Katie can’t even look him in the eye, she decides to just rip the bandage off. She’s never had a problem speaking her mind around the guy, why should this be any different?
She pulls herself off the ground, cautiously, like Ewron’s a rapid animal who’ll pounce at the slightest movement.
She looks at him. “You’re.. different, lately.”
He pulls a face, a really annoying one. The one that shows her hes not taking her seriously
“And, I’m telling you now Ewron, if you’re planning some kind of fucked up revenge plan on me, you better fess up now, because you do not wanna mess with me, okay?” Katie’s yelling at this point, shoving a finger directly into his chest.
He laughs, loud, and right in her face. Katie never lets herself feel dumb, because deep down she knows everybody is just jealous of her success, but somehow Ewron always makes her feel something close to it.
Katie closes her eyes and breathes through her nose, refusing to let this get to her. She’s a businesswoman. She’s a strong, independent, businesswoman. She pulls out her warpstone again, the lingering giggles from Ewron fading slightly, the bastard nearly looks like hes about to cry.
She really doesn’t know whats so funny.
She teleports to her HQ, just bearly missing the hand reaching out to stop her.
❤︎
A week has gone by since Katie last spoke to Ewron. She hasn’t stopped her investigation, per se, shes just changed her tactics.
First, she talked to Tina.
“TIIIIIINNNAAAAAA!!” Katie yells, trailing behind the horned woman as she exits the tavern.
A screech sounds from the shorter of the two, she jumps and turns around. “Ah, Katie!”
Her shocked expression turns to a shy smile, waving at Katie as she makes her way closer to Tina.
“Hey! I wanted to schedule a meeting with you.” Katie says.
Tina looks around. “Oh, uh, a meeting?” She gives a confused smile.
Katie nods, clapping her hands together. “In my HQ! Meet me there in 5, if you’re available.”
“Oh, yeah, okay. I’m free now so we can ju—“ Katies already enveloped by purple particles before Tina can finish her sentence.
Tina turns and looks at where Katie’s now standing, a mere few feet away from where she was before.
Tina giggles, moving to cover her face with a hand, and maybe to cover the pink tint to her cheeks at the other girls antics.
❤︎
Once they’re both sat at the highest floor, Katie of course seated in her pink chair, while tina remains awkwardly seated on the table infront of her.
Katie really needs to invest in some more seats.
“What did you call this meeting for, oh wise one?” Tina jokes, watching Katie flip through her notepad.
“You’re friends with Ewron.”
Tina blinks. “Uh, yes.”
Katie closes her eyes, sets her notepad down infront of her, and turns it around so Tina can gaze into its contents.
Katie starts easily. “Have you noticed how different hes been lately?” Tina skims over the words infront of her, a lot having to do with Ewron’s current behaviors, and his physical appearance. If Tina were talking to anybody else, she’d think this was creepy.
She can’t think something like that about Katie.
“Err, no..” Tina contemplates. “Well, there was this one time he forgot the name of our child, but I suppose he can be kind of forgetful.”
“Hmm, but to forget the name of his own child— also, what?” Katie squints at Tina, the latter throwing both hands up in surrender, shaking them lightly.
“We’re co-parenting a dino—not important.” Tina sighs, “I did think that was kind of weird, though, considering hes the one who named it.”
“Weird indeed.” Katie decides, taking back her notepad and jotting down the newfound information.
“Why are you— no offense, but why are you so into this?” Tina asks, hesitantly. Katie looks up, eyes a little wide, like she hasn’t slept in a while.
“I’m not. I’m just trying to keep myself safe, and everybody else safe— from that psycho.”
Tina’s eyebrows shoot up. “Right, okay.”
❤︎
After the meeting, Katie still has little to no leads on what Ewron’s planning. Besides Tina, nobody really had any information about what Ewron’s been up to.
He doesn’t seem to have a lot of friends.
And, after a week of radio-silence from the panda, Katie’s getting rather tired of it. She’s gonna find him herself, and Ewron’s just gonna have to deal with her wrath.
She started first at the Polish Cave, noticing that they still haven’t made him a new bed. With no sign of Ewron, or even anything to do with him, she sets off to the casino.
Surprising to nobody, the casino taking up entirely too much space is still empty, she even made sure to triple check his office. She tiredly makes her way out onto the dimly lit street, looking up at the sky.
Katie can’t believe shes doing this, she should just wait it out until Ewron decides to finally show his cowardly face.
She’s never the one to chase after him, he’s supposed to be chasing after her.
Finally, in a last ditch effort, she teleports to Prawdziwa Polska. The torches light up a fair patch of the land, but the rest is dark, the sun now completely setting.
Katie hears him before she sees him.
“Kaska.” He calls, faintly, in a darker area.
“Ewron?” Her voice is small, smaller than shes ever allowed it to be. “What are you doing?” She says, louder now.
“What are you doing?” He shoots back, not moving to approach her, just standing there— staring.
“I..” Katie starts, looking at him, but she can’t see any of his features. “Looking for you.” She settles on, wishing she came up with some witty one liner. Wow, didnt even have enough torches to light up the rest of the island? What are you? Poor?
“Looking for me.” He repeats, dragging out each syllable.
Katie can feel her patience for this little act running thin.
“Why the hell are you being so creepy?”
Katie hears him laugh, a soft, teasing noise. He slowly makes his way into the lighter area.
And.. he looks..
He looks like Ewron.
Gone were the lighter blue eyes, replaced with the dark blue Katie remembers. His tail’s moving side to side in a playful movement. He’s standing sort of hunched over, like Katie remembers him to, instead of standing up straight, ears alert.
It feels like a breath of fresh air. All of her nerves immediately replaced by a warm feeling. “Oh,” She gets out, sounding winded.
“Did you need something, Katie?” Ewron grins, familiar, comfortable. “Or did you just want to see me?”
“Ugh, no, just looking at you makes me want to puke right now.”
“Rude, bestie!” Ewron clutches a hand to his chest, puffing his bottom lip out.
Katie watches in astonishment, hes.. completely normal.
Was she just paranoid this entire time? Did she let herself get into her own head about Ewron of all things?
“I didn’t know you had a house here.” Katie says, glancing over at the building in the distance.
“It’s under construction.”
Katie thinks over her options, Ewron still smiling at her from where hes standing.
“Can I see it?” she asks.
❤︎
Ewron really wasn’t lying, theres a giant hole through the front half of the building. Did he fall while walking to the fridge? a suspiciously Don sounding voice echos in her head.
“What the hell?” She spouts, looking into the exposed inside.
“I accidentally teleported here with Puszek.” Ewron explains.
“Poo-sek?” Katie echos, like shes supposed to know what that is. Ewron turns towards her.
“A dinosaur. I’ll show you sometime.” He smiles.
It’s a little weird, how civil they’re being. Like they’re friends.
Katie follows Ewron into the opening of the house, before stopping just short of the kitchen area. What if this is what he wants? Why would he suddenly be back to normal? Did he already finish whatever he was planning, and this is the final step?
She looks at him, fiddling around with the wall decor.
It’s too bizarre.
“Hey,” She starts, figuring out how to approach this. “Why were you acting so weird last week?”
He stops, turns.
“What?” He says, huffing out a laugh.
“Why. Were you. Acting weird.” She says, slowly.
“Was I?” He replies, dismissively. She stalks closer to him, this time shes caging him in.
“I’ve been the same as I’ve always been.” He says, again.
“Have you?” She mimics his earlier words, finally stopping directly infront of him.
“Katie,” He huffs out, looking up at her. “Are you okay?”
Silence.
“Am I okay?” She repeats, incredulous. “Yes, I think I’m pretty fucking okay, Ewron.” She spits, pushing him back.
His eyelids drop slightly. “Are you sure? I can help you, with whatevers going on. I’m here for you.”
Katie stares at him, wide eyed, like she can’t believe what shes hearing.
“Katie.” He whispers, reaching a hand out to caress her face.
Which, ew.
“What?”
“It will be okay.” He murmurs, in that same condescending tone, like hes downplaying her anger.
Then hes kissing her.
Her first instinct is to pull him closer, kiss him back, push him against the wall and act out everything shes kept hidden in her head. When Ewron nibbles at her bottom lip, she pulls away.
“What the fuck?” She rasps, utterly confused.
Ewron whines, pushing himself into her, letting his forehead rest on her exposed collarbone. “Kaska,” He mutters. “Please.”
This entire situation is a complete and utter mindfuck for the taller of the two, her eyes still wide and unblinking as she stares at the top of his head.
Katie’s never been great at impulse control.
Startling Ewron, Katie rips him off of her chest and slams his back onto the neighboring wall, using everything in her to hold the man down as she leans back down to kiss him.
She immediately feels him melt into her, putting his hands around her neck and pulling her impossibly closer. A rough shove backwards has Ewron’s mouth falling open, leaving room for Katie to stick her tongue into the opening, a dragging moan rings throughout the room, Katie isn’t sure which one of them it belonged to.
They stand there for what feels like hours, completely attached to eachother, It’s been long enough that Katie’s legs start to buckle and she reaches her knees up to rest on the wall, between Ewron’s legs.
They separate for a moment, longer this time. Ewron looks down.
“Katiee…” He whimpers, trying to grind down on her knee, to no avail. Katie lets out a small laugh, pushing her knee up a bit so it bumps into Ewron’s cock, she can already feel pre seeping through his pants.
“Already?” She whispers, bemused. “We were only kissing.”
Ewron squeezes his eyes shut. “Wanted this.” He lets out, struggling to keep any kind of composure as he unbashedly grinds down onto her knee.
Katie reaches to grab a fistful of Ewron’s hair, bringing him back closer to her face so they can resume making out.
Ewron moans loudly at the pulling, nearly shaking like a leaf in her grip, if she hadn’t known any better, she’d think this was his first time being touched.
Katie forces her tongue back into his mouth, now pushing her knee up onto his cock, moving it in a circular motion as he moans into her mouth. He pulls away again, their lips still grazing eachother as he whines into her open mouth.
“Katie, mmh—“ His head shoots up, his head hitting the back of the wall.
“Katie, please.”
She has some sort of idea of what hes begging for, she lets a grin spread across her face.
“You gonna cum?” She breathes, grabbing the side of his head and forcing his eyes back onto her. He nods aggressively, opening his eyes to look at her.
His eyes go half lidded as he takes in her appearance, blazer halfway off, the skin under tinged pink. Her eyes are wide, staring at him like nothing else exists.
He lets another whimper tumble out of his lips.
“Katie,” He gasps,” “I love..”
“Yeah? You love this, Ewron? You look like such a fucking whore right now.” She speaks lowly.
“I love you.”
Katie falters, doesn’t stop, but her concentration is thrown off.
She hardly thinks he means it. But to be told that, for someone to care for you enough to say those three little words..
“I love you too.” Her voice cracks, shes losing her hold on Ewron as he slides slightly off the wall, still grinding down onto her, faster now.
“I love you so much.” She repeats, and she almost convinces herself she means it.
After hearing that, It doesn’t take long for Ewron to cum.
“Kaska, Kaska, Kaska—“ He repeats, voice growing quieter.
Then he stops, resting his head on Katie’s shoulder where shes still holding him up, almost feeling like a ragdoll.
“Katie..” He says again, but Katie doesn’t hear him.
She reaches behind him to curl her hands behind his back, in a hug.
They haven’t hugged in a while.
She can almost feel Ewron’s smile as he crawls to reciprocate the embrace. Katie can feel her mind shutting down, but she doesn’t care.
She grips onto him like a lifeline and lowers him onto the floor, her following with him.
She’s so fucked, so horribly fucked.
