Show Me Your World - Drarry FanFic

Summary:

Harry and Draco navigate a long-distance relationship, and everything is going well until Draco gets hurt.

Notes:

I love that everyone loves Part 1 as much as I loved writing it, but that also means Part 2 carries more weight, so... I hope this is as good as you were expecting.

Also, when reading Harry's crash-out moments about magic... he is like 25% intrigued and 75% horrified :)

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

🪄🪄🪄

“DRACO,” Hermione yelled, making the omega jump. It was the second day of classes, and Draco already hated it. His Slytherin friends were ganging up against him and siding with his father, and he’d already heard one or two muttered insults.

“Granger,” Draco said in his usual detached manner. Hermione came to a pause and stared at him for a couple of seconds. She spent all summer with a happy, calm omega, so coming face to face with the detached, masked omega was a shocker. “Weasley.”

“Ferret,” Ron said with a smirk. Draco rolled his eyes. The one time he let his guard down, he got turned into a ferret by Ron, no less.

“Mal- Potter,” Hermione corrected with a bright smile, and Draco rolled his eyes but couldn’t stop the smile. “Here, read this,” she handed him a letter and pointed near the bottom of the page.

Oh Hermione, do show this to Draco because I fear no letters will be sent to him for the next couple of days. Poor Harry was just trying to eat his dinner when Draco’s owl and Athena flew straight to Harry. He had screamed (Harry just told me it wasn’t a scream… it was a scream) and fallen off of his chair. Both of the owls flew down and perched on his chest, and a staring contest started between the three. You know how competitive Harry is; this lasted about three minutes. Then Harry froze in fear because Draco’s owl lent closer to his bond mark. Both of your owls seem to really like Harry. It was kinda like watching a cat gravitate to the only cat hater in the room.

I told Athena to wait while I’m writing this reply, and right now Draco’s owl is standing on Harry’s shoulder while Harry reads his letter from Draco. However, I don’t think he’s actually absorbing anything because he keeps glancing at the owl. If Draco told his owl to follow Harry around until he gets a response…. Well, I fear that might take a while.

Love

Mom and Dad

Draco chuckled at the letter, and now it makes sense why he felt wariness coming from the bond. He originally thought it was just first-day jitters for Harry, but now he knows it’s because of his owl.

“Did you?” Hermione asked once she got her letter back. The three walked to their next class together, and Ron had an arm thrown around Hermione’s shoulder.

“Did I, what?” Draco asked, mentally crafting his next letter.

“Tell your owl to follow Harry until he gets a reply?” Hermione asked eagerly.

“No,” Draco laughed. “Noctis just likes Harry.”

“I didn’t think Harry was afraid of owls,” she chuckled.

“I wonder if Noctis will follow Harry around or get bored and come back,” he furrowed his brow.

“My parents have treats,” she shrugged, and Draco really wished he was with Harry right now to witness this.

“So you really are bonded to a Muggle,” Ron said, and Hermione shot her boyfriend a warning glare.

“And?” Draco asked, squaring up ready for insults or a joke.

“Nothing, Harry’s a good man,” Ron said, putting his free hand in the air. “Just surprising is all.”

“Why?” Draco frowned.

“Remember first and second year? You hated Hermione because she was a Muggle-born. Now you're bonded to one,” Ron pointed out, and Draco looked at Hermione apologetically.

“Don’t worry about it, you stopped being an aristocratic little”

“Shit,” Ron filled in, and Hermione pointed at him.

“A long time ago,” she finished, and Draco rolled his eyes.

“Yes, well, I’ve grown up since then,” Draco muttered.

“Yes, you have,” she grinned, took Draco’s hand and Ron’s hand, pulled them to the front of the class, and sat down. “And for the record, I’m really happy you and Harry found each other.”

Harry: What do I do with this owl? He won’t leave me alone and even tried getting into my car

Jean: 😂😂😂😂

Harry: This isn’t funny. I have class, and it even accompanied me on my run

Harry: MY RUN

Harry: It sat on my shoulder, and then it got tired of standing, I guess, because then it just flew beside me

Harry: It even tried coming into the bathroom with me

Harry: THE BATHROOM

Harry: Now I need to leave for class, but every time I get into the car, it comes with me

Jean: 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Harry: JEAN NOT HELPFUL

Marcus: I’m sorry, son; it is a little bit funny.

Jean: It would probably obey your command the same way it would Draco’s

Marcus: Harry? It’s been ten minutes

Jean: Maybe he and the owl got into a fight

Marcus: I would love to see that

Harry: Very funny 🙄

Harry: I got it to stay in the house

Harry: Leaving for school now

Noctis had arrived with his letter during breakfast.

“Ooo, is that a letter from your Muggle-alpha? I didn’t think he knew how to read and write,” Zabini had said to the group. Draco had taken to sitting a seat down from everyone, but Zabini had said it loud enough that even Hermione heard it, and she turned to glare at Zabini. Draco had rolled his eyes.

“He does. Clearly better than you because he doesn’t feel the need to announce his every thought to the whole room,” he snapped back and took his letter and his books and left the Great Hall.

He had sat in Forensic Potion Analysis, and thankfully it was empty, and he read Harry’s letter. He had waited all week for this letter.

“Are you okay?” Hermione said, walking into the room and sitting beside him.

“Hermione, I just want to read Harry’s letter,” he sighed.

“Okay, I’ll be quiet, but I do have this class with you,” she said and then slid a muffin over to him. He hadn’t finished his food and was grateful for the muffin.

Dear Draco,

I’ve never written a letter before, so this is all so new to me. I kinda feel like I’ve been transported back to the 1900s, but instead of a horse or a pigeon making a delivery, it’s an owl. Noctis won’t stop following me around. Is that normal?

I’m sure by now Hermione has shown you what Jean wrote about my first encounter with Noctis and Athena. In my defence, they appeared randomly in the kitchen and were right in front of my face. I just looked up from my chicken and BAM! Owls. Hermione already wrote back just to laugh at me. She literally just wrote HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA and sent it to me. So very rude. Don’t worry, I sent her my drawing of the middle finger back :)

But anyways, my schedule got really busy because of Fresher’s Week, classes and training. I’m actually about to go to my first party as a university student—Hermione would be so mad—and I really wish you were going with me. I wish your visit were this weekend, not next, because I want to bring you to all the fairs, parties, and food stands. I think you’ll find it secretly enjoyable and horrific at the same time. But don’t worry, I won’t drink and drive, and I’ll be safe.

I’m glad you settled in okay at your cult school. This is very weird that I now get to write to you directly and not have to use Jean and Marcus. I don’t really know what to say about your school because, although I now know the truth…I still don’t understand it. But I hope your classes are going well, and that your professors and friends are nice too. You must be happy to not have to only see mine and Hermione’s faces. Well, you’ll still see Hermione, but from what I gather, you two don’t run in the same crowd at school. My face, however, you get a break from. But sadly, I miss your face every day. The house feels so empty without you in it.

I don’t know how long or short these things should be, so I’m just going to end it here. I’ll give you more details about everything when you come next week. Speaking of that, do I have to pick you up? Or are you just going to magically appear like Noctis and Athena? If I don’t have to pick you up, you have a key to my house, and your phone is on my nightstand, so if I’m not home, just shoot me a text. On Fridays I’ll be at training from five to nine, but I don’t have class that morning, so I should be home until four thirty.

I miss you, Draco Potter. I love you, and I hope you have an amazing second week of school.

Harry

P.S. Let’s not do the whole hiding/lying thing again. I can, in fact, feel your emotions through the bond. I won’t push, but just know that I’m here to listen when you’re ready to talk.

“Did Harry send you a letter?” Draco asked, and Hermione unfolded her paper, and Draco laughed at the big middle finger on it.

“He’s very rude sometimes,” she said, rolling her eyes.

“I like it,” he shrugged, and she chuckled.

“Are you okay?” She asked softly, and now it was Draco’s turn to roll his eyes.

“They’re idiots; I’ll be fine,” he said, brushing her off, and she nodded. The bell rang, and more and more students were filling the room.

~~~
Draco had excitedly run from the park to Harry’s house and saw the alpha’s car was still in the driveway. He used his key to unlock the door and stood in the doorway, waiting to hear where the noise in the house was coming from.
“HARRY!” Draco called out and took off his shoes and went upstairs to grab his phone, but then stopped dead in his tracks. The first door on his right was wide open, and what was once a guest bedroom now had perches of different heights and sizes, and a large basin in the corner. It looked like a converted forest in the room.
“Draco!” He heard and barely turned around when he was suddenly lifted in the air and spun around. He laughed and gripped onto Harry’s arm, and then the alpha put the omega down and turned him around.
“Har-” Draco was cut off by Harry crashing their lips together in a heated kiss. Draco threw his arms around Harry’s neck, and Harry lifted Draco, and the omega wrapped his legs around Harry’s waist. All thoughts of the weird room left his mind as Harry kissed him like a man who’s starving.
Draco and Harry tumbled into bed, and Draco moaned as Harry moved to kiss Draco’s neck as one hand unbuttoned his dress shirt. Draco moved his hands to Harry’s back, and that’s when he realized the alpha wasn’t wearing a shirt.
“Fuck, I miss you,” Harry groaned and then sucked on Draco’s bonding mark, and Draco gasped, and he started producing slick. Harry moaned into his skin, and then he was shoving at Draco’s trousers.
Harry moved to kiss down Draco’s chest, and then he yanked Draco’s trousers and underwear off. Draco barely had a second to think before Harry started to lick his hole and Draco’s hands flew to Harry’s hair.
“Oh, Merlin!” He moaned out, crossing his legs around Harry’s head. “Alpha, please,”  he moaned and gasped when Harry’s tongue entered him. “I’ve missed you,” he said, grinding his ass on Harry’s face.
Harry inserted a finger alongside his tongue, and then he moved his move to Draco’s cock when he added a second finger. Draco screamed when Harry crooked his finger and jabbed his prostate at the same time as his cock hitting the back of Harry’s throat.
“Ah, Harry,” he moaned as a third finger was inserted and he went from fucking up into Harry’s mouth and grinding down to his fingers. Harry’s other hand came up to pinch at his nipple, and Draco screamed as he came down Harry’s throat. Harry worked him through it, and then he pulled out and Draco whined, wanting to be full.
“Shhh, you’re getting my cock,” Harry said, and he was hovering over Draco and pushing in. “Shit, you’re still so tight,” he gasped.
“Don’t stop, just go all the way,” Draco pleaded, and Harry groaned and dropped his head on Draco’s shoulder as he pushed all the way in on one thrust. Draco gasped, and he dug his nails into Harry’s back.
“God, I wanna tie you up, make you take my cock, and there’s nothing you can do to stop me,” Harry whispered, and Draco tightened around him. “You like that?” He asked, lifting his head and smirking down at Draco. The omega nodded and then captured Harry’s lips, and the alpha started moving. It wasn’t soft or gentle. He hadn’t seen Draco in two weeks, and for the past two weeks he kept feeling sadness or confusion through the bond.
“Alpha, please, harder,” Draco begged, and Harry growled as he pulled out and flipped Draco on his hands and knees and then fucked into him again. He had his hands on Draco’s hips and set a brutal pace. Draco collapsed on his face, and his hands balled into fists, gripping the bedsheet.
“I missed you so much,” Harry said, and then one hand left his hip and then spanked Draco’s ass. Draco moaned loudly and pushed back to meet Harry's thrust. “Fuck, you're my little pain slut,” Draco whined.
“More, please,” he begged, and Harry would spank him in between thrusts until Draco’s ass was a nice shade of red and Draco came the second Harry reached around and fisted his cock. Harry followed him and his knot popped.
Harry fell forward but caught himself on the headboard, then gently lowered himself onto Draco and turned them on their side.
Harry couldn’t help it but sink his teeth back on Draco’s bonding gland, remarking the omega as his. Draco preened and cuddled closer, and Harry licked at the mark and then left kisses all over Draco’s shoulder and neck.
Draco blinked back to consciousness a couple of minutes later to Harry placing soft kisses on his neck.
“Hi,” Harry said, and Draco chuckled.
“You just jumped me,” he said, and Harry shrugged.
“I’ve missed you, and when I came up after my workout, I smelled you, and then I saw you, and I just needed to have you,” he explained.
“I don’t mind; I like when you lose control like that,” Draco admitted, and he felt Harry’s smirk.
“Remember, the day before you left, you had said you wish you could keep my cum in you?” Harry asked, and Draco blushed.
“I was told I’m not allowed to use magic in Muggle London until after I graduate,” Draco said. “So sadly that can’t happen.”
“But do you still want to?” Harry asked, and Draco nodded, cheeks tinting pink. “Well, it’s a good thing we have a Muggle method.” Draco shivered at the warmth he lost on his back as Harry reached back to rummage through his nightstand and then rolled back and placed a box in front of Draco. Draco opened it and found a silver oval shape with a base at the end shaped like a heart with a green gem. “It’s a butt plug,” Harry explained. “Once I’m no longer knotted to you, I can put this in, and it’ll keep my cum in you but also keep you open so I can just remove the plug and fuck you without having to open you up first.”
“When did you buy this?” Draco asked, and he seriously needed to figure out how Harry knew his favourite colour was green.
“The day after you left,” Harry admitted. “There’s more I wanted to buy, but I figure I’ll talk to you first about trying Muggle sex toys.”
“There’s more than this?” Draco asked, and Harry laughed.
“There’s a whole world of unexplored Muggle sex toys,” he said, and Draco turned to glare at Harry.
“How do you know about this?”
“I spend a lot of time in the locker room. They talk,” Harry shrugged. “If you’re worried I did stuff with my ex, yes, I’ve used a vibrator on her, but that’s it. Simple toys like a butt plug or vibrator or dildo, most teens would have heard about it.”
“I guess I never asked, am I the first guy you’ve been with?” Draco asked, and Harry shook his head. “How many exes do you have?”
“Two. Chelsea was my first relationship, but I kissed and hooked up with a lad at a party before I met Chelsea,” Harry said, and Draco nodded slowly. “What about you?”
“Only one,” Draco said. “Blaise Zabini and I weren’t in a relationship, though; he was a convenient hook-up.”
“Zabini? Hermione complained about him once, said that she was picking on Ron,” Harry said with a frown.
“Oh, I remember that,” Draco said. “That was in second year or third. Like I’ve said, I wasn’t a nice person before.”
Harry just hummed and kissed at Draco’s mark. “Do you want to try?”
“Yes, please,” Draco said with a groan.
When Harry’s knot deflated, he took the plug and then pushed it in right as he pulled out. Draco gasped, then rolled onto his back and moved his hips a bit.
“How does it feel?” Harry asked, looking down.
“Good, not as big as you, but I like it,” Draco said and then looked at Harry, whose eyes were more black than green.
“You look fucking hot,” he whispered, and he couldn’t take his eyes off of the plug. Draco moved to sit up and then gasped when the plug shifted.
“Come on, I want a shower,” Draco said, and Harry chuckled.
~~~

“So, what’s with the forest in one of your rooms?” Draco asked once they settled on the couch with their lunches.

“Oh,” Harry blushed. “Noctis wouldn’t leave me alone, so I built an enclosure for him.”

“You built an enclosure for my magical owl?” Draco asked, trying to keep from laughing. “They have magic; they don’t need much.”

“I didn’t know that!” Harry said, exasperated, and huffed.

“They disappear to go and find food and then come back. I have a cage for him, and some grooming tools, but that’s about it,” Draco said, and then the alpha glared upstairs as if he could see through floors and glare at Noctis. “Although that would explain why he now spends more time here. You’re spoiling him.”

“I thought I was being a good boyfriend and providing my boyfriend's pet with everything he needs,” Harry rolled his eyes. Draco chuckled.

“You’re a very good boyfriend,” he said, putting his plate down and moving to cuddle into Harry. “When do you have to go?”

“In about twenty minutes,” Harry said, wrapping his arms around Draco’s shoulder. “Come on, I want to show you something.” He stood up, and the omega whined but stood up. Harry took his hand and led him upstairs to the room across from Noctis’s room. He opened it, and Draco gasped. There was a large dark brown wooden L-shaped desk pressed against the wall with the window, and across from it were matching bookshelves all along the wall, and in the corner was a large lamp with a large single-seat couch with a green throw blanket. Across the wall of his desk, sat a drawing table.

“What is this?” Draco asked and turned to Harry.

“It’s your workspace room,” Harry said. “It’s not really decorated because it’s yours. We can go to the mall tomorrow after my practice, and we can buy anything you want, but I just built the basics. I know Hermione complained about the N.E.W.Ts and I figured if you were going to be here bi-weekly, you might as well have a place that’s yours and where you can study.”

“You did that?” Draco asked in surprise.

“Yes,” Harry nodded and then blushed. “I also figured once you're a barrister or studying to become one, you’ll need a room to fit all your law books. I’m not saying you have to move in here, but if you want to, you can.”

“You thought that far ahead?” Draco asked, and Harry nodded.

“I don’t know how or where the universities you want to go to are, but if it’s in London, maybe you could stay here, with me,” Harry said, trying to keep his cool, but his heart was beating out of his chest.

“Thank you,” Draco said and walked over to the alpha and hugged him tightly.

“Of course. This is your place now too. Don’t feel afraid if you want to change some stuff,” Harry said, and Draco nodded, and Harry kissed the top of his head. “There’s a lock on this door, so I’ll lock it if I ever have guests over, or you can always keep this locked. Keys on the table.”

“I love you,” Draco said, and Harry smiled and leaned down to kiss him.

~~~
Saturday, Harry had picked him up from the house, and they went to the mall where Draco bought some stuff for his new room. It was when Harry was paying that Draco realized he didn’t have any money of his own. Sure, he had a separate vault that his Aunt Andromeda had set up in secret, and he wondered if maybe he should write to her. They weren’t close. Not after his mother and her had a huge falling out and Andromeda took her family and left Britain. He’s heard his cousin Nymphadora goes to Beauxbatons in France. But in terms of money, he wonders if Harry knows that to the magical world, Harry is where he should be getting his money from. That vault would’ve been transferred over to Harry when the alpha did all the signing for Hogwarts because Dumbledore had included magical contracts about switching ownership. But when he was in Diagon Alley with Hermione earlier that summer, he was able to access that vault himself without Harry. He sighed as he realized he needed to talk more with Harry about wizarding customs.
~~~

Draco arrived back at Hogwarts Sunday night, already missing his alpha and walked into Slytherin’s common room. Everyone was there laughing and whispering, and Draco ignored him and went up to his dorm.

“Well, well, well, back from your time with the Mudbloods,” Zabini taunted from his bed where the curtains were open.

“Shut up, Zabini,” Draco snarked but then froze in front of his bed. There, sitting on his bed, were clippings from The Prophet of every headline about Lucius disowning him or talking shit about him.

“How long until your Muggle Alpha throws you away as your father did?” Crabbe said, and then everyone laughed.

“I’m guessing a month,” Zabini replied. “After all, he’s an alpha, and you’re nothing but an omega whore, and you’re not even there to do your job.”

“And he’s not even collared,” Crabbe pointed out. “So maybe you aren’t the only omega he’ll try to bond with. He hasn’t even claimed you.” Draco clenched his fist, and with a flick of his wand, all the papers disappeared, and he got on his bed and closed his curtains, effectively shutting everyone out. He started casting locking charms on all his things and even did it to his bed so it remained closed off when he wasn’t there.

He knew coming back would be hard. His “friends” were exactly the type of friends his father wanted around him because they held the same ideology as him. But that also meant that Draco was their number one target.

~~~
Draco wrote to Harry every time the alpha sent a reply, and he was always looking forward to his weekend with Harry. On his fourth visit, he had finally gone to his first-ever football match. Harry had given him his jersey, and Draco sat in the stands with the other girlfriends/boyfriends of the player. He became quite close with a Muggle Elena, and now Draco would sometimes go to Harry’s practices and talk with Elena, who was always there. After watching his first match, he now understood why Muggles love the sport so much and Draco became one of the loudest in the stands by his third match.
It was nice to be in Muggle London away from all the bullying. Even though he put a locking charm on all his stuff in the dorm, he forgot about his books and this one time he came back to the library, and his books were missing. He had wandered around the whole castle just to find it in the tub in Moaning Myrtle's bathroom. Sometimes as he’s walking through the halls, students would shoulder check him, but Draco doesn’t fit back.
He knows that’s what they want, so he just keeps to himself. He would go to the library with Hermione. Has taken to eating breakfast early and dinner late. For about two weeks Draco had managed to avoid them without incident. He didn’t think to tell Harry because he knew the alpha would go all overprotective on him, and Dumbledore or Snape wouldn’t be able to do anything since no one had been hexed… yet.
~~~

“Draco?” Harry had asked when they were in bed. It was right after a match, and Harry’s team had won, so Draco told Harry that he could tie him up to the bed and put a cock cage on him. Even though Draco didn’t get to cum, Harry had fucked two loads of cum into Draco’s hole before plugging him up. Draco was now lying with his head on Harry’s chest with a plug and the cock cage.

“Yes,” Draco mumbled.

“Would you want a collar?” Harry asked, and Draco froze. “It’s not practiced much with Muggles, but some omegas still wear their collar. I’ve asked Hermione, and she said that all bonded omegas wear collars. That it’s almost required by law?”

“Mated omegas are required to wear a collar; bonded omegas are not,” Draco corrected, and Harry furrowed his eyebrows.

“What’s the difference?” Harry asked, and Draco turned on his other side, and Harry moved with him so now they were spooning.

“Mated is like the Muggle equivalent of marriage. We do not have your big ceremony; we just sign a magical contract, and then the world would recognize us as mated. So mated omegas have to wear a collar,” Draco explained. “But bonded omegas don’t need to. I do not know if it’s the same with Muggles, but a magical alpha can bond with many omegas, but an omega can only bond with one alpha.”

“What?” Harry asked in shock.

“Those omegas are not allowed to wear collars because they aren’t the mated omega of their alpha. I think I’ve read once in your Muggle book, a mistress?” Draco continued. “Can Muggle alphas bite multiple people?”

“Um,” Harry frowned as if trying to remember. “No. If they want to bond with someone else, they have to get unbonded—which I heard is a painful process—first and then bond with someone else. But I’m not sure if anyone’s actually tried bonding with multiple omegas. I’ll look that up.”

“I wish that were true,” Draco sighed. “It’s why I bit you too. My bite on your neck doesn’t really do anything other than show other omegas you have someone already. But technically I think you can bite another wizard or witch omega and the bond will probably hold.”

“So what are we?” Harry asked.

“Bonded,” Draco whispered.

“We only become mated through a piece of paper?” Harry asked.

“A piece of paper, and proof of bonding,” Draco said, and Harry frowned.

“How do we give proof of bonding?” Harry asked. “Show them our necks?”

“No, DNA. They will take my hair; that’ll show that I’m a bonded omega. You don’t need to do anything other than sign your name,” Draco explained.

“We’re soulmates; does that not do anything?” Harry asked.

“You have greater ownership of me, so I was still with the Malfoy name; then your word will hold greater significance over my father, who is Head of House, even before bonding or mating.”

“So much politics,” Harry muttered and then turned his back. “Can a soulmate alpha still bite and bond with other omegas?”

“Yes.”

“Why?” Harry asked, so incredibly confused. “Do you guys not like monogamy?”

“Omegas are looked down upon by the more traditional families. We’re seen more as sex slaves than respected members of the wizarding world. That’s why you need to sign off on everything. I can’t earn money of my own unless you sign off on it. I can’t have my own vault unless it’s under your name. I can take out money if you gave permission—which you did—but most alphas don’t. To alphas, it’s a pride thing. The mated omega doesn’t like it, but alphas are in control, so they don’t say anything. Being a mated omega already puts them on the highest pedestal for an omega.”

“That is such a historic way of thinking,” Harry grumbled and then turned and pulled Draco tightly to his chest. “I’m not going to do that. You are the only omega and person that I want.”

“Thank you,” Draco said. “And yes, I would like a collar, but we don’t have to rush into that.”

“As you once said, we’re soulmates; why wait?” Harry quoted, and Draco turned in Harry’s arms.

“You want to mate with me?” He asked in surprise.

“I want to follow your customs. For Muggles, it's just bonding and marriage, but you guys seem to have more to it. But I will not abide by the cheating. I won’t cheat on you. Ever.” Harry said firmly. “Can I give you a collar before we mate?”

“Not a locked one.”

“IT LOCKS?” Harry asked and stared at Draco with wide eyes.

“Yes. You can’t remove a mated omega's collar,” Draco replied calmly.

“What about when you shower?” Harry asked, and Draco rolled his eyes.

“It’s magic, Harry. It’ll have protection and longevity charms, so it’s protected,” Draco explained.

“How many types of collars are there?” Harry asked.

“Just the two,” Draco said. “One is gifted during the process of being mated and then replaced once mated.”

“So like an engagement ring and a wedding ring but the wedding you can never remove,” Harry said more to himself than Draco. “Um… how do I do this? Do I pick one out myself? Do we go together?” Harry asked slowly.

“We can do both,” Draco said with a nod. “We can go to Diagon Alley tomorrow.”

“Is that that magical shop place where you guys get your books and uniforms and stuff?” Harry asked, and Draco nodded. He found it funny how Harry was half horrified by and half intrigued, and he looked at every magical thing as if it was about to jump out at him and bite him. Which, to be fair, most will probably do.

“Do you want to go tomorrow?” Draco asked and then frowned. “It’s expensive, by the way.”

“Diagon Alley?” Harry frowned, and Draco chuckled and shook his head.

“The collars, the spell, everything about it. When we buy it, we have to pay for the license, and the Ministry forms.”

“Are those not the same thing?” Harry asked.

“No,” Draco said, and Harry groaned and rolled onto his back, bringing the omega with him. “The license is for the collar. It has a tracker as well as my magical signature just in case I get hurt or, God forbid, die in a terrible accident and cannot be identified, so they’ll look at my collar. It also has to get registered because if you decide to un-mate me, I can’t ever get mated again.”

“Wait. I can un-mate you?” Harry asked, frowning. “I thought bonding and mating are permanent. Wait, never mind; you can technically get unbonded here as well, so of course you guys have a magical way of doing it too. Does it hurt as bad?”

“Bonding only lasts roughly ten years,” Draco started, and Harry slapped his forehead and groaned, and Draco chuckled. Harry seems to have a harder time comprehending this than the existence of magic. “It becomes permanent once you mate,” he said slowly. “A bonded omega can only mate with their bonded alpha. But a mate and bond can be undone by what my father did. Rites of Disinheritance. But it hurts a lot more if that spell is cast on their mate because when bonding and mating, their magic combines and settles. So when that spell is performed, it’s like getting cut into two. Some omegas end their lives afterwards because they never fully recover from that type of heartbreak and their magic never fully settles.”

“You wizards and witches live in such an archaic world,” Harry muttered with his hand still covering his eyes.

“Maybe,” Draco shrugged. He doesn’t know any different, but from what Harry has told him and his horrified reactions, maybe Muggles are more advanced than them. “But we might need to transfer some money into our vault.”

“Vault?” Harry asked, peeking one eye through his fingers.

“Bank account?” Draco asked if he wasn't too sure about that. “Last I checked, there were 10 Galleons, 20 Sickles and 24 Knuts,” Draco said. “Plus some more Sickles and Knuts for the ones I have in my pocket.”

“What?” Harry asked, sounding so confused.

“The numbers?”

“Galleons, Sickles, Knuts,” Harry said.

“Those are the types of coins we have. The gold ones are Galleons. Seventeen silver Sickles to a Galleon and twenty-nine Knuts to a Sickle.” He said as if it was the easiest concept to grasp.

“Okay,” Harry said, clearly not understanding but too tired to question it.

“How much is a collar going to cost?” Harry asked even though he wanted nothing more than to end this conversation because he felt as if his brain might explode.

“300 Galleons, give or take. Those are for the more expensive collars with the spells and the charms,” Draco said. He didn’t actually know any of the cheaper collars; the ones in the magazines his mom used to read were the higher-end qualities.

“You said Galleons are gold, so in Muggle terms that's like what couple of thousands of pounds?” Harry said to himself. “Okay, how do we convert it?”

“At Gringotts, they have a part for online banking for Muggles. The Goblins would be happier with you since you actually know how to do it and they have a screen for it,” Draco said.

“Goblins?” Harry asked and then put a hand over Draco’s mouth. “They’re real and work with gold. Do you hear the irony there?” Draco just shrugged because Harry still had a hand over his mouth. “Do you need money for school?”

“Some,” Draco said.

“Okay, I’ll transfer like two thousand pounds? That should be enough,” he frowned. “Can I transfer your money back to my money?”

“Yes,” Draco said, and Harry nodded.

“Two thousand. Fuck,” Harry said with a sigh. “That’s fine.”

“Is that too much?” Draco asked, not really understanding the quantity of Muggle money.

“It’s a lot, Draco, but it’s fine. I’ll pick up a second job next summer,” Harry said with a sigh.

“No, I don’t want you overworking yourself,” Draco said, moving to sit up so he could look at Harry properly.

“It’s fine, Draco,” Harry said, but Draco shook his head. “I mean it. My parents’ entire inheritance went to me. I didn’t realize they were actually quite rich until I saw it hit my account in July. I worked a lot when I was in high school, and I have most of the money I got from my parents in mutual funds and GSI and other safe investments so that money will continue to grow. I can afford it. I also have a lot of money of my own. I just don’t want to touch my parents’ money unless I have to, but I mostly want to save it for our kids. But it’s fine.”

“I don’t understand most of what you just said,” Draco said with a frown.

“I have money, Draco,” Harry said, pulling the omega back down. “I just don’t like to show it off.”

“That’s very different from my father,” Draco muttered with a frown. “But still. Maybe I can help.”

“No, it’s fine. You focus on your final year,” Harry said, but Draco shook his head.

“Hogwarts has a tutoring program that pays. I can sign on as a tutor,” Draco said, already checking his schedule to see how it can fit. It’ll be good because it gives him an excuse to be out of his room more. “You’ll have to sign off on it.”

“Seriously, Draco, you don’t need to.”

“But you aren’t working right now,” he protested.

“I am. I play semi-professionally; I can earn two thousand pounds back in about two months,” Harry said, and Draco frowned.

“That’s a long time to earn back money we’ll spend in a few hours,” he said, and Harry laughed.

“Isn’t that how it always works?”

“I don’t know, I’ve never had a job,” Draco said, and Harry chuckled. “But I want to help.”

“How about this,” Harry said, knowing if he outright refuses, Draco would keep pestering until he agrees. “We see how much damage we do tomorrow. If we end up with… I don’t know less than 30 Galleons, I’ll sign off on you working.”

“But I want to help,” Draco argued, and Harry sighed.

“When would you receive your first set of marks?” Harry asked.

“In eighth year, it would be around the end of October to early November,” Draco said.

“If you receive all A's, then you can do it. I just don’t want you to feel overwhelmed; your studies are important, and it’s not like I’m struggling financially,” Harry said and then yelped when Draco slapped his chest.

“I never get A's, do you have that low of expectations of me?” Draco said, looking offended.

“As are the highest grades,” Harry defended and then sighed. “What’s your grading system?”

“Passing grades are O for outstanding, E for exceeding expectations, and A is for acceptable. Failing grades are P for poor, D for dreadful and T for troll,” Draco said, and Harry looked at him, clearly fighting not to laugh. “What’s so funny?”

“They have names,” Harry said and then lost the battle and laughed. “Ours is just the first six letters of the alphabet.”

“Ugh, you’re impossible,” Draco said with an eyeroll.

“Okay, all Es and Os, how about that,” Harry said, and Draco nodded.

“Fine,” he sighed.

“Good, now we sleep,” Harry said, reaching over to turn off the lamp.

“You’re making me sleep with a cock cage and butt plug?” Draco asked, half alarmed.

“I’m making you go to Diagon Alley with them in,” Harry whispered in his ear, and Draco shivered. “Now sleep. Any more talk and my brain will combust.”

~~~
“Wow,” Harry said once they stepped into Gringotts. Draco had made Harry wear sunglasses so the Muggle’s wide eyes didn't attract the wrong type of attention because Harry was staring at everything.
“This way,” Draco dragged him across the building to the machine that sits in what Harry would call a phone booth. “This protects the electronics from magic.”
“Right, magic and technology are a no-go,” Harry murmured and stepped into the booth. Draco stood beside him, watching Harry, wanting to learn what he was doing, but Harry was moving so fast, Draco barely had time to read what it said, let alone process it. “Done. Now what?”
“We talk to the goblins to get the coins,” Draco dragged him back out.
“But it says it’s in my account,” Harry said.
“Yes, and now we have to get the coins,” Draco replied patiently.
“You don’t have magical debit cards?”
“Debit cards?”
“Yeah, a card that links to your account and you just tap it, and the money automatically transfers from your account to the sellers.”
“No, we use coins,” Draco said, now equally as confused as Harry.
“That’s inefficient,” Harry muttered.
“Come on,” Draco huffed, and Harry’s eyebrows shot up from behind the glasses when he saw the goblins. He was prepared for them to be green.
“Vault number?” The grumpy-looking goblin said.
“Six hundred eighty-seven,” Draco said.
“How much, Mr. Potter?” He asked, looking bored.
“Three hundred Galleons,” the goblin sighed and walked away.
“I thought they were green,” Harry whispered, coming to stand behind him and boxing Draco into the counter.
“Why would they be green?”
“I don’t know,” Harry shrugged.
“Here you go,” he dropped rolls of gold coins on the counter, and Harry took off his sunglasses so he could see better.
“I’m supposed to carry that in my pocket?”
“I brought a pouch,” Draco pulled out a small pouch, and Harry frowned.
“Draco, love, I don’t think all that will fit in there,” he said, and Draco huffed. He pulled out his, murmured something Harry didn’t understand and then the coins were sitting in the pouch after shrinking.
“Once we go to use it, it’ll be back to its normal size,” he explained.
“Right, magic,” Harry huffed and then looked at the goblin. “You know what would make this easier?”
“No,” the goblin said, looking unamused.
“A debit card,” Harry said.
“We tried,” the goblin said, and he sighed and grimaced.
“You did? Why aren’t you using it then?”
“Wizards and witches kept attempting to pay with Chocolate Frog Cards,” he said, and Draco sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose.
“I wish he were joking,” Draco said when Harry looked at him. Harry burst out laughing and then snuggled into Draco. “Let’s go,” Draco dragged a still chuckling Harry out of Gringotts.
~~~

They finally arrived at a store, and Draco automatically started looking at the displays. Harry took a peek, then just let Draco wander around. He wondered if Draco would want to get married, the Muggle way as well. Then again, can Draco get married? Would he have a birth certificate that the Muggle world would accept?

“Don’t do that,” Harry said, grabbing Draco’s wrist and then dragging him back to the display he was already standing at. “Don’t think about the price. This is something you’re going to wear for the rest of your life. Pick one you want, and if we need more money I’ll go back to the Goblins and get more.” Draco frowned. “No. I told you, I have enough, stop worrying,” Harry said, and Draco huffed. “Good. Now why don’t you tell me what you’re looking for?”

“Can I help you boys?” the sales clerk walked out from the back, and Harry smiled at her.

“Hello, I’m Harry, and this is my- erm, omega?” Harry started confidently, then got confused. He remembered when he had asked Draco to be his boyfriend, and Draco blinked confusedly at him, not understanding why. To him, boyfriend and girlfriend weren’t labels used for a bonded pair.

“What can I get for you and your omega?” she said, chuckling at the alpha.

“Draco,” Harry said, looking at Draco, who looked back at him and then at the sales clerk. “What?”

“The omega is not allowed to speak to me unless you give permission,” the sales clerk explained, a bit confused.

“But you talked at the bank,” Harry frowned.

“Are you a Muggle?”

“That obvious, huh?” Harry chuckled, and the witch softened.

“If he has your permission to access and extract coins from the vault, then he is free to speak. But here, or anywhere in the shops, he needs your permission, or you do the talking.”

“Ugh,” Harry said, dropping his head onto Draco’s shoulder. “Do I have to sign something that gives him permission to speak? How did you do this when I wasn’t here?” Draco just stared back at him. “Right, can’t talk.”

“Just say you have permission to talk. That would break the spell,” she said.

“Erm, Draco Potter, you have my permission to speak,” Harry said, feeling all types of weird.

“I’m a student of Hogwarts; if I’m in their partnered shops, I can talk freely,” Draco explained, and Harry looked annoyed.

“Backwards world,” he muttered. “Okay, I’m sorry I never caught your name.”

“Celeste,” she said, and Harry reached out a hand, and Celeste looked down at it in surprise. She took it tentatively.

“I’m Harry, and this is Draco,” he said, shaking her hand with a smile. “We are here to buy collars for mating.”

“I see. What would you like?” Celeste said, finally shifting her attention to the omega.

“Don’t think about the price, just get what you want,” Harry whispered before Draco could answer.

“For the engagement, a soft, deep forest dragon-leather without the scales, instead using a silver thread to have a design of the Slytherin snake around the collar. About ½ an inch with a white gold clasp,” Draco replied and glanced at Harry. As Draco was talking, Celeste had a quill magically drawing out the design beside her.

“For the mating?” She asked.

“A black dragon-hide lined with forest green velvet, with a silver bordering the dragon-hide. No design, about ¾ of an inch,” Draco replied.

“For the ring?” She asked, and he frowned. “The mating collar is required to have the ring at the front.”

“Does that mean there’s a leash too?” Draco asked, and Harry whipped his head around from the other side of the store. He had walked away, letting Draco pick what he wanted without feeling pressure to not spend too much

“Yes,” she said, looking apologetic.

“Why do you need a leash?” Harry asked, walking back over.

“In more traditional practices, the omega sleeps leashed to the bed, and eats chained to the table leg on the ground,” Draco said, remembering his mother was like that. “It’s not as practiced in individual households, but in public restaurants, there are spots for omegas to be tied down. If you don’t want that, you’ll have to tell them.”

“What the fuck,” Harry said into his hands. “You forgot to mention this last night.”

“Slipped my mind,” Draco shrugged.

“Slipped your mind?”

“Yes. You don’t treat me like a traditional omega; I just forgot,” Draco explained, and Harry chuckled and pulled his omega into his chest.

“Even if I never use it, I still have to buy it?” Harry asked Celeste, who looked surprised. This whole interaction was surprising to her. Harry isn’t the first Muggle alpha, but he is the first Muggle alpha who let his omega speak and, once he learned about the leash, even seemed more interested.

“By law, yes, the Ministry won’t accept it otherwise,” she said, and Harry sighed.

“Okay, design your leash,” he said to Draco. “I won’t be using it though.”

“Then can the leash be the same as the collar with a silver O-ring and silver clasp?” he said, and she nodded. “Oh, and on the inside of both collars, can you embroider Harry Potter on it?”

“Harry and Draco Potter,” Harry cut in, and the omega looked up at him. “It’s your collar, but our engagement. We are equals, a team; you're not property, not to me.”

“Harry and Draco Potter,” Draco said to Celeste as he leant back against Harry's chest.

“Charms and spells?” She asked and was happy for the omega. She’s read the Prophet, always hated Lucius Malfoy and especially since he was one of those alphas that didn’t let his omega speak and customized a collar that clearly wasn’t her colour or style. She’s happy the omega found someone better.

“Protection, longevity, weather changing, and spell blocking,” Draco said, reading off of the list of charms and spells the store can provide.

“Okay, pick your favourite of the design, and then we can go back and get measured,” she turned the parchment to her, and Draco pointed at the two he liked, and quill circled them.

“I’ll wait here,” Harry said, stepping back from Draco.

~~~
“You have a good alpha,” Celeste said once they were in the back. “I’ve always hated your father.”
“Everyone did,” Draco snorted. “He’s really great. Was absolutely appalled by the idea of an alpha bonding with multiple omegas.”
“Do Muggles not do that?”
“Harry says they can only bond with one person,” Draco shrugged.
“Huh,” she simply said.
“How would you like for it to be delivered?”
“Hogwarts, please,” Draco said, and she nodded and wrote everything down.
Draco turned and walked back out to see Harry watching an alpha talk to another salesperson, and judging by his face, it was a stuck-up alpha.
“That’ll be two hundred fifty galleons,” she said, and Harry walked over with the pouch and handed it to Draco to deal with.
“Are you happy with your decision?” Harry asked Draco.
“Very, I had it delivered to Hogwarts. I can bring it the next time I see you, and you can put it on me,” he said, and Harry smiled and leaned down to kiss Draco.
“Does the two fifty include the license and paper?” Harry asked Celeste.
“It does,” she smiled.
“Perfect,” Harry said and then heard a snort.
“You let your omega speak and pick out what they want?” The alpha said, turning around.
“Would I get arrested if I punched him?” Harry whispered.
“No,” Celeste cut in. “As long as he lifts his wand, it’ll be self-defence.”
“Why wouldn’t I? They’re people with brains and vocal cords,” Harry replied, moving to stand on Draco’s other side. Draco was a bit confused, considering he’s more likely to keep them safe since he has magic. “I can’t say the same for you.” The alpha’s face got red, and as Harry predicted, his wand was raised, and Draco pulled out his in an instant, but before the alpha could mutter a spell, Harry had already punched him straight in the face, and the alpha stumbled back from the force of it. “Next time, mind your own business,” he said and then turned back to Celeste. “Do I need to sign anything?”
“Oh, you little-” he got up and stalked forward with his wand raised, but Harry turned around and grabbed his outstretched wrist and slammed it on the counter, forcing him to let go of the wand, and he elbowed his upper back, causing the alpha to collapse on the ground.
“Not so scary without your wand,” Harry said, looking down. He picked up the quill and signed his name at the bottom of the parchment and then slid it over to Celeste. “Don’t wizards find it embarrassing when they’re beaten by a Muggle?”
“You’re a Muggle?” He asked, looking up.
“Yes,” Harry simply said and smiled down at the man. “Goodbye, it was nice meeting you, Celeste.”
“Bye, Mr. and Mr. Potter,” Celeste said in shock.
“Let’s go,” Draco said, grabbing Harry’s arm and walking out of the shop. He kept pulling Harry until they were back at where they came from.
“Are you going home already?” Harry asked with a frown, and then Draco shoved him through the portal.
“Yes, we are,” Draco said through gritted teeth, pulling Harry towards his car.
“Did I do something wrong?” Harry frowned.
“No, we are going back so you can fuck me,” Draco said, and when the omega finally turned to Harry, his pupils were blown wide.
“What? Me protecting your honour turns you on, little omega?” Harry asked, stepping forward and caging Draco in between him and the car.
“Very,” Draco whispered and pulled Harry down for a heated kiss.
~~~

It was a week later when Draco had been staring suspiciously at all the students of Hogwarts as he was walking to the Great Hall for dinner. Ever since the second period, everyone is whispering and pointing at him. At first he thought it was because The Daily Prophet had written about how Harry had physically defended the honour of an omega and the tone of the article…well, not surprising. The Prophet had praised the strength of the Muggle alpha while saying that such an alpha was a waste on a banished omega. Draco had rolled his eyes when he read it. He was now “banished omega” instead of Draco Potter. He truly hates how discriminatory The Prophet is and hates how the Wizarding world continues to give The Prophet the space and power to spread their discrimination.

“Have you heard?” Hermione asked, coming beside Draco.

“Why are they all whispering about me?” Draco asked, and Hermione nodded.

“Did you have your collar delivered here?” Draco stopped in his tracks and turned a horrified look at Hermione.

“No,” Draco said, not wanting it to be true.

“Nott was assigned to help in the Room of Deliveries after he got in trouble with Professor Snape,” Hermione said, looking at Draco with pity. Draco turned on his heels and ran towards the Room of Deliveries. “DRACO!”

He barely heard his footsteps or even Hermione calling after him. Everything around him was a blur of colour and lines. It can’t be. It can’t be gone. The Room of Deliveries was supposed to be secure. Why would Snape put Nott in there, of all places? The collar was supposed to be safe. It was supposed to be safe so Draco could feel safe wearing it.

“NOTT!” Draco yelled the second he barged in through the doors and came face to face with the smirking beta.

“Hello, Malfoy, or wait, it's Potter now, right?” Theodore Nott crossed his arms over his chest and leant back against the wall. “I can’t believe you’re such a traitor to your own kind. Not only bonding with a Muggle but turning out to be friends with a Gryffindor. No wonder your father disowned you; you’re nothing but a half-blood by association. And your future kids—oh wait. You can’t have any.”

“How dare you say that,” Hermione said, charging forward, but Draco’s arm shot out to stop her.

Nott laughed and said, “Is she fighting your battles now? Merlin, you’re not even a Slytherin anymore.”

“Where’s my package?” Draco asked, not interested in the verbal back and forth. He needed that package.

“I don’t know,” he shrugged one shoulder, and Draco stopped and stared before his eyes narrowed.

“What do you mean you don’t know?” he said dangerously low.

“I mean, it arrived, I logged it, and someone came to collect it,” he said, with a facade of nonchalance, but Draco saw right through it. He was scared.

“Who?” Draco said slowly.

Theodore looked away and then back at Draco.

“Zabini,” and a chill just ran through Draco’s whole body, and his fist clenched at his side.

“Why?” Hermione frowned. “The items inside are charmed; he can’t even open the package, let alone damage its contents.”

“Because he thought it was funny,” Nott said with a shrug.

“Funny?” Draco said coldly. “Stealing my engagement and mating collar is funny?”

“I didn’t know what was inside of it,” Nott said, now getting worried. “It was an undescribed box; Zabini just thought it was some Muggle sex toy or something.”

“Where is he?” Draco took another step forward.

“Draco,” Hermione whispered, grabbing the omega’s arm.

“Where?” Draco jumped over the counter. “Is he?” He got right up in Nott’s face.

“Room of Requirements,” Nott said immediately, and Draco turned on his heels again and stormed out of the room.

“Draco,” Hermione said, following after the omega. She was thankful the omega wasn’t running again, but Draco was exuding a lot of angry pheromones that even as a beta she was getting affected. Typically, omegas’ angry pheromones don’t do much to affect other omegas, betas, or alphas, but it’s the connection to a strong alpha and a soul bond that is allowing for Draco’s pheromones to reach this level. Hermione wonders what Harry must be feeling right now. The alpha must be going out of his mind with worry or even exuding this same level of anger. She doesn’t know which one is worse.

“Draco!” Hermione jumped in front of Draco, but the omega simply sidestepped the beta. “I know you're angry, but your anger won’t do anything. Zabini is an alpha; no matter how powerful your pheromones are right now, he won’t be affected.” Draco wasn’t listening.

“Mione!” Ron called out, jogging up to her. “What’s got your panties in a twist?” Ron asked Draco, but the omega didn’t reply.

“He's going to confront Zabini in the Room of Requirements,” she supplied.

“He is in Slytherin's common room,” Ron frowned, and that made Draco stop in his tracks.

“Oh, so you can hear,” Hermione huffed.

“I saw him walk in there a few minutes ago, laughing about something,” Ron shrugged, and once again Draco turned on his heels, changing course.

“Ugh,” Hermione groaned. “Draco!” She called out when Draco made a run for it. “I wish Harry was here.”

~~~
“ZABINI!” Draco yelled, bursting into the common room. “What did you ask the Room?”
“Why would I tell you that?” Zabini chuckled. “Are you that desperate to get it back? What, you're such an omega whore you can’t live without something filling you up? Oh wait, you can’t. I remember how easy you came crawling when I called.”
“You hid my engagement collar,” Draco said, and Zabini’s mask faltered, but he was quick to put it back in place.
“Then you better be there and not here. That’s quite important; I can’t imagine your alpha being too happy about you losing that. Maybe he’ll second-guess mating you,” Zabini smirked. “Even for a Muggle, Harry can do better than you.”
“You keep your name out of his mouth,” Draco growled.
“What are you defending that Muggle now?” Zabini asked.
“He’s more of a man than you are,” Draco said, smirking and watched as Zabini’s face grew red. His wand was out in seconds a hex followed quickly after but Draco was faster and deflected it and landed dangerously close to Crabbe.
“That was on purpose!” Crabbe exclaimed, and then Draco dodged another hex. And suddenly everyone was up with their wands out, either about to hex Draco or dodge a reflecting one.
Then a third.
Then a fourth.
Then a fifth. He’s good; he’s been duelling since he learned to hold a wand. He’s the best in class for a reason, but one against five are not good odds. One slipped through, and he was thrown against the wall. Before he could recover, another spell hit, and he managed to get one out and heard a yelp, knowing it landed on someone, and then a spell hit. He was aware of the door swinging open and Professor Snape’s angry shout, but another hit him, and he was unconscious.
~~~

Harry was on the field feeling so much restless energy. He was angry and worried, but he knew it wasn’t his emotions. At half-time, he had snuck away and called for Noctis to deliver his note to Draco, but knew it would take a few days for Noctis to get to Draco. His instincts were screaming at him to go to his omega, but he had no way of getting to Draco.

“Stupid pretentious cult school,” he had muttered to himself as he walked back into the locker room.

Now they had ten minutes left. They were tied. 2-2. And Harry was standing in his position, trying to focus on the game, when he gasped and fell to his knees. He clutched at his chest and heard the referee blow his whistle, and then his teammates were surrounding him. He knew they were speaking; he could hear voices, but he couldn’t make any of it out.

“Draco,” he said. “He’s in danger. I have to go.” He had said and got up with the help of someone and ran off the pitch. More shouting was heard but Harry didn’t care. He ran into the locker room and grabbed his bag and keys and got into his car and just drove.

~~~
Harry was frantically writing his letter to Hermione and Headmaster Dumbledore. He still had his bag on his shoulder, and didn't even waste time on taking off his cleats. He was ready to shout for Athena when a loud knock was heard at his door. He growled at the intrusion and opened the door, ready to give the other person hell. His chest hurt too much. It was like a weight on his chest that he couldn’t get off and he just needed to get in contact with Hermione or Dumbledore, hell even Ron, someone. He needed to know his omega was fine and he was just overreacting.
“What?” Harry snapped open the door to find two men in robes. “Who ar-“
“Harry,” Hermione’s tear-streaked face popped up from behind the men, and she threw herself on Harry. Harry stumbled back at the force but hugged her back tightly.
“As happy as I am to see you, if you’re here that means…” Harry trailed off, and Hermione stepped back.
“They’re Aurors from the Ministry; they have to be here whenever escorting a Muggle to the wizarding world,” Hermione said, taking Harry’s hand. “Come on.”
“What happened?” Harry asked, following Hermione towards the park.
“I wish I knew. He was so angry going to the common rooms, and since I’m a Gryffindor I couldn’t go in. I ran to get Professor Snape, but by the time we got there, Draco was already on the ground unconscious,” she said, tears filling her eyes again. “Dumbledore summoned me to his office and told me to go with these two to get you.”
“Something bad,” Harry frowned. “It feels like something is crushing my heart.”
“You’re going to feel as if you’re being pulled apart, but you’re fine,” one of the Aurors cut in and then he gripped Harry’s elbow.
“Just don’t let go of me,” Hermione said. Before Harry could get a feel for what was going on, he felt as if he was being pulled apart, and he focused all his energy on holding Hermione’s hand.
“Holy shit,” Harry said when he was finally on stable ground, and he stumbled, and the Auror and Hermione righted him.
“Mr. Harry Potter, I presume.” Harry looked up and then snapped his head to the side; the Aurors had disappeared. “Do forgive the unpleasant journey here, but it was the fastest way to get you here.” Harry looked at the man standing in front of him. “I’m Headmaster Dumbledore.” Harry’s eyes widened, and then he looked at Hermione.
“Where’s Draco?” Harry asked and filed this away for later.
“In the infirmary, Madame Pomfrey is tending to him as we speak,” Dumbledore said and turned and walked away, and Hermione and Harry followed after him.
“What happened?” Harry asked.
“That I do not know,” Dumbledore said calmly.
“What do you mean you don’t know?” Harry asked in confusion and anger. “He’s one of your students, and he ended up in the infirmary, and you don’t know?”
“It happened in the common room of one of the Houses. By the time my staff arrived, Draco was unconscious. I presume a duel happened, but no one is speaking,” Dumbledore said right as they stopped in front of the infirmary. “Ah, Professor Snape, this is Harry Potter, Draco Potter’s alpha.” The long-haired man simply regarded Harry with what looked like disdain and then turned to Dumbledore.
“Madame Pomfrey hasn’t left yet. I’ve stabilized Crabbe and sent him to your office. He should not be in the same room as Potter’s alpha,” Snape glanced at Harry. Harry briefly wished Crabbe was still there.
“Please check on the Aurors investigating the Slytherin common room,” Dumbledore said, and Snape nodded and walked away.
“What?” Harry whispered to Hermione.
“They will check the magical residue to figure out what happened, what spells were used and even from whom,” she explained.
“They can figure all that out?” Harry asked and then lifted a hand. “Never mind, magic; why do I even bother?”
“Actually, Mr. Potter, no spells will be used as it would interfere with the spells that had been cast,” Dumbledore filled in.
“Oh right, of course, silly me,” Harry grumbled. “Is he in there?”
“Yes, but you cannot go in and disrupt her work,” Dumbledore said, and Harry sighed and took to pacing outside of the room.
“He’s going to be okay,” Hermione said, watching her friend.
“This shouldn’t have happened in the first place. Why wasn’t anything done before this?” Harry asked, looking at Dumbledore.
“You mean to tell me something was happening?” Dumbledore asked, and raised a single eyebrow.
“Something has, he’s been anxious and angry and sad and annoyed every time he’s here. You’ve noticed something as well,” Harry said, as he lost grip on his voice. “Why didn’t he say anything?”
“It’s Draco,” Hermione sighed. “He hasn’t said anything to me, and he seemed to be handling it; no one snaps back a comeback like Draco.”
“That doesn’t mean he’s not affected,” Harry snapped, and Hermione sighed. “Tell me they would face consequences.”
“Of course, but the level of punishment depends on the Auror’s findings,” Dumbledore said, and right after the door opened, Madame Pomfrey stepped out.
“Oh hello,” she said, looking at Harry and then frowning at what he was wearing.
“This is Mr. Potter’s Muggle alpha,” Dumbledore filled in.
“Oh perfect, he’s physically stable but I need his alpha’s scent to stabilize him further. Come in,” she said, and Harry rushed in and peeked at all the beds until he found one with his favourite blond.
“Draco,” Harry gasped, rushed over, and took his hand. “He doesn’t look too badly hurt.”
“I’ve healed most of his physical injuries,” she replied.
“Right, magic,” Harry muttered and leaned over to place a soft kiss on Draco's forehead.
“Harry,” Hermione said, walking to stand on Draco’s other side. “Harry, I'm so sorry. I know I promised I’ll look after him–”
“Unless you’re the one who did this to him, I don’t want to hear it,” Harry said, cutting her off and moving to sit on the edge of Draco’s bed.
“I’ll get you some food,” she whispered and then turned around and walked away.
“God, you better hope I don’t cross paths with those who did this to you,” Harry muttered angrily. “Please, Draco, come back to me.”
~~~

“Here, it doesn’t follow your diet, but it’s food,” Hermione said, holding out a tray for Harry. The alpha sighed and moved to sit in the chair beside the bed while still holding Draco’s hand and putting his tray in his lap.

“Thanks,” Harry said. “What happened? How did we get here?”

“They concluded Draco wasn’t at fault.”

“He’s the one in the bed,” Harry snorted and then turned to see Ron. “Oh, hi Ron.”

“Harry,” Ron nodded. “But as I was saying, Draco only cast shielding charms, six to be exact; the sixth one the spell had bounced off, grazing Crabbe. While nine spells were thrown at him. It wasn’t a duel.”

“I don’t know what that means,” Harry said, looking at Hermione.

“It means what they did was illegal and they can be arrested for it or worse expelled," she said, borderline horrified.

“You need to get your priorities straight,” Harry said, judging Hermione. “Do they need a statement or something from Draco?”

“His wand and a Pensieve,” Ron said.

“A what?” Harry asked.

“It’s a powerful artifact that can pull memories,” Hermione simply explained, and Harry just looked at her with a blank face.

“Right, magic,” he muttered, taking a bite out of his food. “But why was he so mad?”

“Oh, that,” Hermione sighed, pulled another chair, and sat on the other side of Draco. “Zabini-”

“Zabini?” Harry asked, the name ringing a bell. “As in Draco’s ex Zabini?”

“Yeah,” Ron replied, moving to sit on the arm of Hermione’s chair. “Zabini was right jealous when Draco came back to school with two bite marks, one on either side of his neck.”

“He’s the one bullying Draco all this time?” Harry asked.

“He’s not the only one, but everyone else joined in because of Zabini,” Hermione said. “But Nott must’ve told Zabini that a package arrived for Draco, and Zabini thought it was a good idea to hide it.”

“That’s why he’s pissed,” Harry said. He looked at Draco, rubbed his thumb on Draco’s pulse and started scent marking him. “Where did Zabini hide it?”

“The Room of Requirements," Hermione and Ron answered.

“The what?” Harry asked.

“The Room of Requirements,” Ron repeated, and Harry stared at him blankly.

“Eat first, then we’ll tell you,” Hermione said, and Harry rolled his eyes and started eating. He wasn’t really tasting anything, just going through the motions. “You’re in your uniform; did you just come from a match?”

“Left a match with ten minutes left,” Harry replied.

“You’re allowed to do that?” Hermione asked in surprise, and Harry shrugged. “Was it a Wingate match?” Harry nodded. “Were you guys winning?”

“Tie,” he replied around a mouthful of food.

“Was it an important one?” Hermione asked, and Harry swallowed and nodded.

“Scouts were there. It was my first game with them present,” Harry sighed. “But none of that matters. Draco was in danger.”

“I’m so-”

“Done,” Harry cut her off. “Now what is the Room of Requirement?” Hermione pointed her wand at Harry’s tray and murmured a spell, and then it disappeared. “I’m questioning that later.”

“It’s difficult to explain,” Hermione started.

“Why is everything about magic difficult to explain?” Harry sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose. “Try me.”

“You know how a building has rooms designed for a specific purpose?” Hermione started, and Harry narrowed his eyes.

“Yes,” he said slowly.

“Like a kitchen for cooking, a library for reading, a bedroom for sleeping,” she trailed off.

“Uh huh,” Harry said, waiting for her to get to the point.

“Well, the Room of Requirements isn’t built for one purpose,” she continued, and Harry waited. “It becomes whatever someone genuinely needs.” Harry blinked.

“What?” Harry asked.

“It changes for every person, or even the same person at different times,” she said.

“That did absolutely nothing to clear that up,” Harry muttered.

“It becomes what you need,” Ron repeated.

“But it’s a room,” Harry said slowly.

“Yup.”

“So if I need the bathroom…”

“It’ll become one,” Hermione replied.

“A bedroom?”

“Turns into a bedroom.”

“A library?”

“Yup, that too.”

“A football pitch,” Harry said and Hermione chuckled.

“Maybe not a full-size one,” she said, and Harry looked triumphant.

“So it has limits,” Harry said.

“Everything has limits,” Hermione snorted. “The Room of Requirement is no different.”

“What’s the limit?” Harry asked.

“We don’t know,” she said, frowning down at her hand.

“You don’t know,” Harry repeated.

“It’s old magic,” Ron defended.

“Older than Hogwarts?”

“Yup,” Hermione replied, and Harry rubbed at his temple.

“So, there’s a room wandering around the castle deciding what people need?”

“It doesn’t wander,” Hermione corrected automatically.

“Oh silly me for thinking an ever-changing room can just get up and walk away,” Harry grumbled. “Can I go in?”

“Probably,” Ron shrugged. “The room will probably recognize Draco’s magical signature in your soul?”

“What?” Harry looked alarmed.

“When you bond, a very small part of his magic connects with you; that’s what allows magical items to recognize you. It’s also rumoured that you may be able to perform some magic if it means saving Draco, but those are rumours and no one knows its limits or if it’s even possible,” Hermione explained.”

“Okay,” Harry said, giving up. “How do I get in?”

“Pace in front of the room three times and think I need the room where Blaise Zabini hid Draco’s collar,” Hermione said, and Harry furrowed his brow.

“And it would just give it to me?” Harry asked.

“Nope,” Ron replied, and Harry threw his hands up.

“You’ll have to search, but the collar would be in there,” Hermione said calmly.

“Ugh, magic,” Harry muttered. “So unhelpful.”

“Mr. Potter,” Dumbledore said, and Harry shot up. “The Aurors would like to perform a Pensieve on Draco Potter; are they allowed to?”

“Would it hurt?” Harry frowned.

“It would not,” Dumbledore said, and Harry looked at Hermione, who nodded.

“Okay,” Harry agreed.

“Can we move him?” Dumbledore turned to Madame Pomfrey, who held out her wand and pointed it at Draco. Harry tensed but didn’t move.

“As long as you bring him right back,” she said, and Harry picked up Draco's bridal style.

“Where are we going?” Harry asked, following the Aurors and Dumbledore.

~~~
“I need you to hold him up to the basin, yes, like that,” Dumbledore said. “Now it has to be the user’s wand and magic, but since Mr. Potter is unconscious, you will have to do it.”
“I don’t have magic,” Harry protested. His arms were wrapped around Draco’s middle, holding his omega against his chest.
“But you have some of Draco’s magic. His wand will recognize you, and you’re not casting a spell; just place the tip to his temple,” Dumbledore explained and handed Harry Draco’s wand. Harry took the wand and tensed as he hummed in his hand, and then he looked to Hermione, who was standing beside the Aurors, and nodded at him. Harry placed the tip of Draco’s wand to Draco's temple and then pulled back and watched as a silvery strand left Draco’s head. “Now point to the basin,” and Harry did as told, and then they were in Slytherin’s common room.
Harry watched as the events unfolded, and he had turned Draco in his arms and cradled his head into his chest as if trying to protect him.
~~~

“That was bullshit,” Harry grumbled, sitting in his chair again with Draco back in the bed. “Draco didn’t even say anything that could warrant that level of anger.”

“I mean Zabini has always had a crush on Draco. There were rumours that he wanted to start courting Draco back in fifth year, but Draco had laughed, thinking it was a joke,” Ron pointed out, and Harry rolled his eyes.

“Still bullshit,” he grumbled.

“Ms. Granger and Mr. Weasley, please return to your dorm,” Madame Pomfrey said as they both got up.

“I’ll be back tomorrow,” Hermione said, and Harry nodded.

~~~
Harry jolted awake when he felt a hand on him, and he looked to see Hermione smiling down at him with a tray of food. She had found him sitting in the chair with his head on the bed beside his and Draco’s clasped hands.
“That doesn’t look like a comfortable position,” she said, placing the food in his lap.
“It wasn’t,” he said, stretching out his neck.
“Madame Pomfrey told me to tell you that you need to leave for a bit while she assesses and heals Draco,” she said, and she could see the protest forming on Harry’s tongue. “We’ll go to the Room of Requirements and look for the collar. Draco should be waking up today anyway.”
“Fine,” he sighed, and he ate his food quietly. Once he was done, Madame Pomfrey showed up with an expectant look on her face, and Harry leaned down to kiss Draco’s forehead before letting go and getting dragged away by Hermione.
~~~

“It’s a wall,” Harry said, looking at the wall.

“A door would magically appear,” she said patiently. “Do you remember what you need to do?”

“Pace three times and think I need the room where Blaise Zabini hid Draco’s collar,” Harry repeated. He sighed, closed his eyes and paced back and forth, thinking, " I need the room where Blaise Zabini hid Draco’s collar.

The wall suddenly turned into a door and opened. Harry looked to Hermione, who nodded in encouragement, and he stepped in. The room was dim, barely able to see anything, and it was smaller than he had expected. As he walked further in, he heard a faint laugh. He turned, but there was no one. Then another laugh, one he recognized, one he cherished. Draco’s laugh. It echoed around the room. Harry frowned and turned to Hermione, who was standing at the edge of the room, still in the corridor.

“It’s residual magic; powerful emotions sometimes leave an impression in magical places,” she explained, and Harry just nodded.

He looked around, and the room flickered for a couple of seconds, and Harry saw a younger Draco sitting on an old couch reading a book.

Then it flickered again to Blaise tossing him a Chocolate Frog in the Great Hall.

Then to Draco rolling his eyes while trying to suppress a smile.

Something hit Harry, not physically, like a fleeting impression. Draco trusted Zabini.

Another flashed, Draco on top of Zabini, and Harry squeezed his eyes shut; that felt too invasive, and he didn’t want to watch his boyfriend with someone else. Then the room echoed with Draco and Zabini’s combined laugh.

Another flash, this one of Blaise looking at Draco with unmistakable affection in his eyes. Harry’s heart clenched at that.

Another flash, this time of Draco returning to Hogwarts with Harry’s bond mark on his neck and the smile disappearing from Zabini’s face. The room grew colder, as if responding to Zabini’s emotions at that moment.

“He loved him,” Harry said.

“I don’t think Draco even realized it,” Hermione said with a hint of sadness in her tone.

“I don’t think Zabini realized it either,” Harry replied. He finally bumped into something, felt around it, and grabbed onto a handle.

Another flash, this time of Blaise putting the package there, but his face wasn’t happy or smirking; it was desperate, almost pleading. Like hiding the package in this room would somehow change reality.

Harry’s anger softened, not because Zabini was innocent, but because he understood that jealousy can turn into cruelty.

He reached in and grabbed the package and walked out of the room silently. He closed the door behind him, and he stared down at the unremarkable brown box but knew inside held everything to Draco.

“That doesn’t excuse what he did; Draco could’ve died,” Harry whispered.

“I know,” she whispered back.

~~~
“When did you take this?” Harry frowned at the jumper and sweatpants Hermione just handed him.
“Your clothes are soft,” she shrugged, and Harry narrowed his eyes at her.
“You have a boyfriend,” he said.
“It’s not like I wear it often, plus Ron knows you're basically my brother,” she protested.
“Between you and Draco, I’m going to have no clothes left,” he mumbled, and Hermione left the bathroom they were in. Harry quickly showered with the stuff Hermione gave him and then dried himself before changing into the clothes she gave him.
“Here,” Hermione handed him a pair of running shoes, and Harry frowned down at them.
“Do I wanna know where you got those?” Harry asked, but did in fact take the shoes.
“It’s your cleats; I’ll turn them back before you leave,” she said as Harry put them on.
“Maybe magic is kinda helpful,” he mumbled. “Come on, Madame Pomfrey should be done by now, right?”
“Yup,” she said, and they walked through the halls of Hogwarts. Harry finally took the time to look around.
“You know, I was right,” Harry said. “Spot on right about everything.”
“I was wondering how long until you brought this up,” she chuckled.
“You two laughed at me; even your parents laughed at me, but I was right,” he grinned at Hermione. “I even got the old man with a white long beard correct. You know I’m pointing this out every time you call me stupid. My god, why do I second-guess myself?”
“It was hilarious how spot on you were,” she said.
“I still can’t believe it,” he chuckled. “Also, why is everyone staring at me?”
“You're a Muggle who bonded with Draco, who’s an omega who was banished from his family. You’re also the Muggle Alpha who defeated a wizard alpha. You’re kinda famous,” she said, and Harry frowned.
“Privacy law, you guys need to look that up,” he said, and she laughed.
“We’ve been trying,” she said. “But you’re a bit of a hero.”
“Ugh,” Harry said with an eye roll.
“Standing up for an omega, an omega like Draco. I don’t mean any offence, but to the public Draco was basically blacklisted, so what you did in that shop held more weight than you think. I think it’s starting a ripple in the wizarding community. It’ll still take probably decades for any law to actually change, but people’s mindsets are opening up. Either towards Muggles or omegas or even Draco,” Hermione praised.
“It shouldn’t have been that way to begin with,” Harry huffed. “Draco couldn’t talk in that shop. That’s so stupid and fucked up.”
“It is, but it’s the reality of the wizarding world,” she said sadly.
“Yeah,” he said.
“Oh, perfect, you’re back,” Madame Pomfrey said once they walked in.
“Draco?” Harry called out.
“Harry?” His favourite voice said, and Harry ran over to Draco’s bed and pulled him into a hug. “How are you here?” Draco asked, hugging Harry tightly and sticking his nose in Harry’s neck.
“Long story,” he said. “Gods, you scared me.”
“Hi Draco,” Hermione said, and the omega peeked up from Harry’s shoulder and gave a small wave before cuddling back into his neck. “Okay, I’ll hug you later, once Harry won’t bite my head off if I get too close. Imma leave this here.”
“Can you leave?” Harry asked, ignoring Hermione’s retreating footsteps. “How long do you have to stay?”
“He can leave, you cannot,” Madame Pomfrey said, and Harry turned but kept an arm around Draco. “I’ve already spoken to Dumbledore. Draco’s magical core is weak and unsettled. He’ll need to be around you in order for it to settle.”
“Magical core?” He asked Draco and then lifted a hand to stop him. “You know what, never mind, that’s probably the only magic tidbit that actually makes sense.” He huffed and then turned back to Madame Pomfrey. “Can he go any periods without me?”
“He does not need to be attached to you per se, but near enough that your presence and smell can be felt and smelt,” she explained, and Harry nodded.
“So I go to classes with him?”
“Yes.”
“Oh, that’s gonna be fun,” he grumbled and then glanced at Draco. “My brain might actually explode.”
“Dumbledore will tell his professors, but as long as you don’t cause any disruption or affect his concentration, they will be okay with your presence.”
“What about the other students?” Draco asked with a hint of snark.
“They don’t have a choice,” she shrugged. “Now out. Harry’s presence has kept everyone away from here long enough.”
“I didn’t do anything,” he protested.
“You have been releasing furious and protective pheromones,” she pointed out, and Harry looked sheepish.
“Sorry,” he muttered and took three deep breaths to rein in his emotions. “Let’s go,” he said, stood up and took the package.
“Is that?” Draco asked, staring at the package in awe.
“Yeah, you missed a lot,” Harry said, chuckling, throwing an arm around Draco’s shoulder, and walking out.
~~~

“It was moving stairs, Draco! And a talking and moving painting!” Harry exclaimed, following his omega into his dorm room. “Of course I was staring at it as if it would eat me. You could die!” Draco couldn’t stop laughing, and Harry huffed and rolled his eyes. “This stupid cult school and its inability to keep their students safe,” he stocked over to Draco’s bed, threw open the curtains and sat down.

“How did you do?” Draco asked, walking over to his bed.

“This bed smells of you,” he shrugged.

“No, I meant open the curtains,” he frowned. Harry looked at the curtains and then back at Draco. “I cast a spell on them. No one should be able to open them unless it’s me.”

“Oh,” Harry said, now looking at them, alarmed. “Maybe it’s because I’m your soulmate?”

“Maybe,” he said, and then Harry pulled him into his lap. Harry scooted back with Draco until his back was against the headboard, and Draco straddled his lap. “Holy shit!” He exclaimed when the curtains fell shut, enclosing them in the bed. “Did you do that?”

“I spelled it to automatically do that,” Draco said, reburying his face into Harry’s neck.

“Right, magic,” he muttered.

“Okay, are you going to let me open that?” Draco touched the package beside him.

“No, I’ll tell you everything that happened. If you aren’t ready to talk about the bullying or why you didn’t say anything to me or Hermione or your professors, that can be a later conver—“

“I was handling it,” he sighed. “Or thought I was. I didn’t want to add more stress or worry on your plate.”

“Love,” Harry sighed and kissed Draco’s temple. “I can feel your emotions, and when I’m not beside you, I stress and worry about you. It makes it worse when I feel your sadness and anger, and I don’t know anything about it. If you don’t want me going all protective alpha, then I won’t, but I wanna be here to listen and know what’s going on. You're my omega; I don’t want secrets anymore. Can we please not do them anymore?”

“Okay,” Draco whispered. “I’m sorry.”

“That’s okay,” Harry used two fingers to lift Draco’s chin and leant down to kiss him. “I love you.”

“I love you,” Draco smiled.

“Great,” Harry said, then launched into the retelling of what happened in his match when he came back to Draco's side.

“That little snake,” Draco rolled his eyes. “So you saw what happened?” Harry nodded, and Draco huffed.

“I’m sorry if that was invasive,” he apologized.

“It’s fine,” he shrugged. “What was in the Room of Requirements? He’s always been an omega hater, so probably something embarrassing like a room full of Muggle sex toys,” Draco spat.

“Can it do that? Nevermind of course it can,” he rolled his eyes. “Maybe, but that’s not why he did it,” Harry said, and Draco frowned. “When I went to retrieve the collar from the Room of Requirements, I thought ‘I need the room where Blaise Zabini hid Draco’s collar,’ and it opened up to a dark room that had flashes of your moments together. Like three-second snippets. Zabini wasn’t just hooking up with you because he thought you were convenient.”

“What?” Draco asked.

“He was in love with you,” he said, and Draco snorted.

“He was not,” he protested, but Harry’s face didn’t change.

“I saw it, Draco; he was in love with you, whether he realized it or not. His demeanour changed towards you this year, not because you’re an omega, but because you came back bonded. I took something he wanted, and since I wasn’t around to face the brunt of his jealousy, he directed it at you,” Harry explained.

“That’s a funny way of showing someone you love them,” Draco said, shaking his head.

“Maybe, but jealousy can turn into cruelty real quick,” Harry said with a sigh.

“Well, I didn’t want him, and I don’t want him,” Draco said firmly, and Harry smiled. “The room showed you that, right?”

“It showed that you trusted him, saw him as a real friend,” Harry said, and Draco sighed.

“I thought he was,” he admitted.

“I’m sorry you lost a friend,” Harry said, placing a kiss on his neck.

“I got a soulmate and new friends out of it, so I didn’t lose much,” he said, and Harry smiled.

“I love you,” Harry said, turning Draco’s head towards him and kissing him.

“Now can I open this?” Draco asked, tapping the box, and Harry chuckled.

“Since you’ve been so patient.” Draco snatched the box and turned on Harry’s lap until he was sitting between his legs with his back to his chest. Harry rested his chest atop Draco’s shoulder and watched as Draco tapped his wand to the package, and it magically opened. Inside lay two black velvet boxes with Potter written on top. Draco carefully picked up both boxes, and Harry moved the package to the side.

Draco tapped his wand to one of the boxes, and it popped open, and out came a letter-size envelope.

“What the,” Harry said, taking the floating envelope.

“This is the mating collar,” Draco whispered, looking down at the collar and lightly touching it. “That's the stuff for the Ministry. We’ll need to sign it, and then it’ll send itself and this collar to the Ministry.”

“Right, I forgot the paperwork does it themselves,” he said, sighing and then peeking down at the collar. “It’s beautiful, Draco.”

“I love it,” he said.

“Where’s the leash?”

“Underneath it,” Draco said and then closed the box. “We’ll deal with this later.” He took the envelope from Harry’s hand and placed it and the mating collar on the bed beside them. He tapped his wand to the other box, and it popped open.

“I like the snake design,” Harry said, and Draco beamed. He carefully took the collar out of the box and handed it to Harry. Harry took it delicately, undid the clasp, placed the collar around Draco’s neck, and clasped it together. “Comfortable?”

“Very,” Draco whispered in awe. Harry leant to the side to get a better look at the collar and smiled at the stunned, happy smile on his face.

“It looks really good on you,” Harry complimented and then pulled Draco back into his arms.

“Thank you,” he said, and one hand kept touching the collar. “Thank you for this.”

“Of course,” he said, kissing Draco’s temple. “Do you think Celeste can make me one?”

“You want a collar?” Draco asked, turning his head to look at Harry.

“Sadly, I can’t have a permanent collar. It’s against uniform policy due to safety precautions. Something about if the ball hits your neck or chest, the collar can actually do more harm than protect. Collared omegas have to take them off. But a bracelet isn’t against policy, as long as it’s not dangling,” Harry said and then lifted his left wrist. “Maybe she can make me an identical one but for my wrist and that can be permanent.”

“Really?” Draco asked, and Harry hummed.

“In Muggle culture, collars aren’t a necessary thing; some couples still do it, but we mostly have marriages. I would wear a ring then, but you and I aren’t getting married until a couple of years from now.”

“You thought about marrying me?” Draco asked, feeling as if his heart was going to explode with how much he loves Harry.

“Well yeah, I want my government to recognize you as my husband as well,” Harry said. “I also want us to be more settled and not be long-distance. Also, we can’t do it now even if we wanted to because we’re both technically minors. But once you’re out of Hogwarts and we’re living in my house together, I’ll propose. But I’m designing your ring; you don’t get to know what it looks like. Muggle custom.”

“What if you get it wrong?” Draco asked, although he was sure whatever ring Harry picked out he’ll love.

“Have some faith; I know you pretty well, and by that point, I’ll know you even better,” he scoffed, a bit offended. “But until we both have rings on our fingers, I want something that shows you I’m yours as well. This isn’t one-sided. I know sometimes you get in your head about it, but I’m not looking for or at someone else. You are mine, and I am yours.”

“She’ll definitely do it; she loves you,” Draco said, holding back tears and pulling Harry’s arms tighter about his waist.

“She loves that I’m protective of you and treat you like a human, so really she loves you and likes me by association,” Harry corrected, and Draco snorted. “What happens to this one when the Ministry approves us?”

“That won’t be for another eight months to a year,” Draco said, picking up the envelope. “Accio textbook.” He said with a wave of his wand, and a hardcover textbook flew into his hand.

“I don’t think I’m ever getting used to magic,” Harry said, blinking at the textbook he just watched fly out from nowhere. “Also, it takes that long?”

“It takes time for the license and seeing our bond is true,” Draco said. He bent his knees, placed the textbook in his lap, then opened the envelope and pulled out what looked like a certificate and a little baggie. Draco pulled out a strand of his hair, put it into the bag, and then put the bag back into the envelope. “Let’s do the licenses first,” he put the certificate back in and pulled out three pieces of paper. Draco picked up a quill…from somewhere… and then wrote down Draco Potter and signed his name. He handed the quill to Harry, and Harry wrote down Harry Potter and signed his name, and then let go of the quill and watched as it filled out the paperwork.

“That is partly convenient but also creepy,” Harry said, looking a bit alarmed.

“Are you sure about this?” Draco asked, looking back.

“Very,” Harry said, kissing the top of the collar. “What happened to this?”

“When the Ministry approves us, my mating collar will magically appear on my neck, and this will fall off,” Draco said, and Harry blinked.

“Okay,” he said, not wanting to question it. “What do we do when it falls off?”

“We can keep it in a box,” Draco said, then shrugged and looked at Harry’s wrist. “What if we ask Celeste to turn mine into a permanent bracelet as well?”

“You’ll want to wear a permanent bracelet?” Harry asked. “You’re already wearing the collar. That symbolizes more than a bracelet.”

“But then I could still be a match with you. Then when your Muggle friends see it, they would understand, I hope,” Draco said and then frowned. “If your bracelet matches this collar, then I still want to wear this collar so we are still matching. Plus I don’t want to part with it.”

“Okay, we can ask,” Harry said right as the quill stopped moving. Draco collected the papers and put them into the envelope and then pulled out the certificate.

“There’s no going back now. Once we both sign it, we can’t take it back,” Draco warned, and Harry took the quill and wrote his name and then signed at the bottom.

“There’s no second-guessing you,” Harry said, giving him the quill. Draco smiled and wrote his name and then signed it. He put it in the envelope and straightened his legs to place the mating collar on top of the envelope, and Harry watched as both things disappeared. “So what do you call this stage?”

“I’m a mate to be; you're an alpha,” Draco said, and Harry made a sound of protest.

“I don’t get a change in title?” Harry asked, and Draco shook his head. “I feel left out.”

“Would you like to be an alpha mate to be?” Draco asked.

“Sure,” Harry said with a shrug, and Draco laughed. “Have you eaten?”

“No,” Draco said with a sigh. “Lunch is almost done; let’s go.” He pulled the alpha off his bed.

Hermione ran over to Draco and pulled him in a tight hug once the couple stepped into the Great Hall, and Harry looked around while keeping a hand on Draco’s lower back.

“I’m so happy you’re okay,” she said once they pulled back. “By the way, I wrote to mum and dad to have them get in contact with the club and school about your absence.”

“Oh, thank you,” Harry sighed in relief.

“Wait, I just realized, you’ll be missing school and training; will that be okay?” Draco asked with a frown as the three of them walked further into the hall.

“Actually good timing, my mid-semester break starts Monday, and I’ll miss a University game and a club game, but that’s okay,” Harry said, moving to sit beside Hermione but then was yanked back to sit on the bench behind her.

“This is the Slytherin table,” Draco said. Harry looked at the table, then at Hermione.

“You can’t intermingle?” Harry asked with a raised eyebrow.

“Technically, you can, but it’s frowned upon,” Draco said, and Harry opened his mouth, and Draco slapped his hand over his mouth. “Pretentious, I know. You were right.”

“And about the old long white-haired bearded man,” Harry said, pulling Draco’s hand off his face and holding it instead. Draco laughed, already picturing Harry’s stunned, shocked and triumphant face at the sight of Dumbledore.

“I’ll come and drop off your bag later today,” Hermione said, walking over to them with Ron behind her.

“Thank you, Mione,” Harry said, standing up and pulling her into a hug. He kissed the top of her head and then nodded at Ron.

“Why is everyone staring at me?” Harry whispered once he sat back down and looked around and noticed everyone was staring at him.

“Dunno, don’t care,” Draco shrugged. “Is your coach going to be mad? You ran out on a game that had scouts?”

“He can’t be too mad; my soulmate was in danger,” Harry shrugged. “Plus it doesn’t matter.”

“What if you get kicked off the team?” Draco frowned.

“They won’t kick me off the team,” Harry argued.

“But what if?” Draco stressed, and Harry sighed and pulled Draco into his side.

“If they kick me off the team, then they kick me off the team. I’ll get another job and stay in school to work towards starting my construction company. I have a plan B for a reason, and if I need to use it then I’ll use it,” Harry said easily. “And before you argue, I’ll walk off the team if they tell me I can't leave if you’re in danger. You’re my priority. I’ll leave everything I know, drop everything if you need me. Everything else we can figure out together.”

“Sap,” Draco grumbled and turned his face into Harry’s neck, and Harry felt his tears.

“Your sap,” Harry said and kissed the top of his head. “Come on, let’s eat; I can sense your hunger.” Draco laughed and reached forward for the food.

“Um,” someone from beside them said. “Mr. Potter?” She asked, and Harry looked at Draco.

“She’s asking you. They will always be asking you,” he huffed. “If you’re here, they address you even if it’s about me. They don’t talk to me, or me talk to them unless you give permission.”

“Backwards world,” Harry mumbled unhappily. “Yes, hello, if it’s in regard to Draco, you can talk to him directly. No need to go through me.” Harry smiled a little awkwardly. Was that what he needed to say to break the spell? Was there a spell?

“We’re sorry, Draco; we should’ve said something from the beginning,” she said, looking apologetically at Draco.

“Thank you, but what’s done is done,” Draco said, a bit surprised they were apologizing.

“For what it’s worth, you have an amazing alpha,” she said, blushing when Harry looked up at her.

“I know,” Draco said, smiling at Harry. She nodded and waved, and then she and her friends ran off.

“Would I have to give permission to every person?” Harry asked, and Draco shrugged. “Hermione doesn’t seem affected.”

“That’s because she’s ignoring the tradition but also because she’s someone you trust. The magic recognizes that and allows her to talk to me directly. Notice how Ron didn’t say anything,” Draco explained, and Harry frowned.

“We are stopping by your library, and I need to check out some magical books,” Harry said, and Draco’s heart fluttered. Harry was making an effort to learn about his world. Even though Harry looked more and more confused the more he learned about magic.

~~~
“God, you look so fucking hot with that on,” Harry growled, pushing Draco down on his bed, and the curtain shutting behind him. “How thin are these walls?”
“Doesn’t matter, there’s a silencing charm over my bed,” Draco said, pulling Harry down for a kiss.
“A what?” Harry pulled back to ask but moaned when Draco sucked on his bonding mark.
“Means I can scream your bloody name over and over again and no one can hear me,” Draco said with a smirk and with a murmured spell, all their clothes were gone. Draco slipped his wand on the side of the bed and watched as Harry looked over him slowly.
“That’s convenient,” Harry said, a hand lightly travelling up Draco’s leg. “That desperate little omega?”
“I’ve been desperate since you put this on me, and then even more when you said you wanted a matching collar as a bracelet,” Draco admitted. “Had to do this,” he spread his legs, and Harry saw the heart-shaped green gem sitting at Draco’s hole.
“Fuck,” Harry said, pushing the plug deeper in, and Draco gasped. “Fuck,” he lay down beside Draco, and Draco rolled on top of his alpha, and Harry reached back for the plug and pulled it halfway out and then pushed it back in.
Draco whined and started sucking at Harry’s neck.
“Sit on my face,” Harry moaned, and Draco pushed up on his hands and looked down at Harry in confusion. “Do you want to?” Draco nodded slowly, and then Harry pulled the plug out and picked up Draco and flipped him around. “Don’t be shy, love,” Harry said, and that was the only warning he got because his hands gripped Draco’s hips and he pulled him down on his tongue.
Draco gasped and fell forward, and he was face to face with Harry’s hard cock. Draco took Harry into his mouth and was rewarded by Harry’s tongue entering him. Draco tried his best to bob his head on Harry’s cock, but then Harry would do something that made Draco lose all control over his limbs. He moaned around Harry’s cock, and a finger joined him alongside his tongue. Draco tried to lift up on his knees so he wasn’t suffocating Harry, but the alpha would pull him back down.
Harry got to three fingers when Draco clenched around his fingers and sucked at the head of Harry’s cock, and he came on Harry’s chest.
Draco moved off of Harry when the alpha let him go, and he was about to reach for his wand when Harry’s hand caught his wrist.
“Lick it up,” Harry said. “Lick it up and keep it in your mouth.” Draco looked at his cum on Harry’s chest and then back at Harry. He gave a tentative lick at his cum, and Harry moaned and said, “Good boy,” he praised. Then he licked up all his cum, and then Harry pulled him forward and crashed their lips together, tongue immediately entering his mouth and taking the cum for himself.
“Fuck, I didn’t think I’d like that,” Draco whispered, pulling back.
“Yeah?” Harry asked, and Draco nodded. Draco reached behind him and grabbed Harry’s cock and aligned it with his hole, and they both moaned when Harry entered him. “You choose well, omega. That dark colour in contrast to your pale skin. Fuck,” Harry hooked a finger underneath the collar and pulled Draco down and kissed him. He bent his knees and placed his feet flat on the bed and fucked up into Draco’s body. Draco gasped, his eyes going wide.
“Merlin, I feel you everywhere,” Draco said, and his hands balled into fists on the bedsheet. “Har-Harry,” Draco moaned. Harry was bouncing him on his cock, and he felt very much like a fleshtoy for Harry. His hole was for Harry’s pleasure only. “ALPHA!” Draco moaned as his cock was trapped between his stomach and Harry’s abs and was getting a lot of friction. Not to mention, in this position, Harry was hitting his prostate dead on every time he fucked up.
“Oh fuck omega,” Harry groaned. “Fuck, can you hold off your orgasm?” Draco shook his head. “Another time, wanna see how much of an obedient omega you are and hold off your orgasm until I say so. You’ll look so pretty with your collar on, face twisted in pleasure and writhing on the bed, cock hard and ready to cum but you won’t, because you’re mine. My orgasm. My hole. My omega,” Harry’s hip stuttered when Draco bit Harry’s bonding mark again, and his knot popped right on Draco’s prostate.
“Fuck,” Harry whispered. He turned his head to kiss Draco's temple. “Fuck, it’s going to be really hard to be so close to you with your collar on and not want to bend you over every surface and fuck you.”
“I did it,” Draco whispered.
“You did what, baby?” Harry asked, and Draco weakly pushed up and gasped when Harry’s knot went deeper.
“I didn’t cum,” he said, and they both looked down at Draco’s hard cock.
“Oh fuck,” Harry said, dropping his hand on the bed. “How long do you think you can go without an orgasm?”
“What are you planning?” Draco asked, and Harry smirked.
“Did you also steal your cock cage?” Harry asked, looking at Draco whose cheek was tinted pink. “Sneaky little omega,” he chuckled. “Give it to me,” he said, and Draco reached over for his wand.
“Accio cock cage,” Draco said and then the cage flew into Draco’s hands, and Harry took it from him.
“I wanna keep you caged up until I leave. Before I go, I’ll fuck you, and you can cum then, and then I wanna cage you up again until you visit me,” Harry said, and Draco’s eyes went wide. “You can spell it if you want so it can come off with your wand and not just my key.”
“What’s to stop me from spelling it off, jerking myself off, and then putting it back on?” Draco asked, and Harry shrugged.
“That’s up to you; I won’t be mad if you did that,” Harry said, and Draco narrowed his eyes at him.
“But you’ll be mad if I don’t tell you?” Draco questioned, and Harry nodded.
“We don’t have to think about it. How about this week, while I’m here?” Harry asked, and Draco nodded. “If it becomes too much, you let me know. No questions asked. No judgement. Tell me, and I’ll take it off immediately. Understand?”
“Yes, alpha,” Draco said, and Harry grinned.
“Can I plug you up as well?” Harry asked, and Draco eagerly nodded. “You like being plugged up, don’t you?”
“Like being filled by you,” Draco admitted, and Harry pulled him down to his chest.
“Gods, I love you,” Harry whispered and kissed at the top of Draco’s collar.
“I love you.”
~~~

When Harry’s knot was gone, he quickly plugged Draco up and put the cock cage on. Draco had cleaned them both up with his wand and put on their pyjamas. Draco was wearing satin pink with D.P. stitched at the wrist and Draco Potter written on the breast. Harry chuckled and pulled him to his chest.

~~~
“What are you reading?” Hermione asked, sitting down beside Harry and looking over his shoulder.
“The omega rulebook,” Draco said, leaning over Harry’s other shoulder. “See that furrow in his brow and the disgusted look on his mouth? Yeah, that’s been there since he picked up the book this morning.”
“This says you can’t speak to me in my house,” Harry said, looking appalled. “That’s bullshit! Is it because I’m a Muggle, and my house doesn’t have any magic so it can’t stop you from speaking?”
“Yup,” Draco nodded, not even surprised at the law. He’s read that book many times, and his father used to make him memorize it when he presented. Even if he was not allowed to act like an omega outside the Manor, he had to behave like one inside the Manor.
“This is bullocks,” Harry huffed angrily and slammed the book shut.
“You were on the first page,” Hermione said, biting her lip to try and contain his laugh.
“Why are you finding this funny? Omegas have to live like this,” Harry said, looking at Hermione like she grew a second head.
“It’s normalized here. You acting the way you do is the absurd part,” Draco said and then kissed Harry’s cheek. “Get to page ten, you’ll learn I’m not allowed to do that when we’re mated.”
“Ugh,” Harry said, sliding lower in his seat. “I give up.”
“It’s a good thing you don’t go here, Harry,” Hermione whispered. “All the omegas want you to bond with them.” Harry looked confused, and Draco looked jealous.
“Mine,” Draco grumbled, taking Harry’s arm and wrapping it around his shoulder, and Harry grinned over at his omega.
“Only yours,” Harry said and kissed his cheek.
“Gross,” Hermione rolled her eyes.
“You’re just jealous Ron isn’t here for you to be–” Draco started, and then Harry put a hand over his mouth.
“Even if the next words out of your mouth were cuddling, I still don’t wanna know what my sister gets up to with her boyfriend,” Harry said with a grimace on his face.
“Well, I don’t wanna see it,” Hermione argued. The not-genetically/legally-related siblings were about to start bickering when Professor McGonall walked in and started her lesson.
~~~

“You know,” Harry said, looking around at everyone in the library. “I feel very out of place with pen and paper. Am I not pretentious enough for a quill?”

“Not magical enough,” Ron muttered, and Harry’s jaw dropped.

“The discrimination,” he said with an eyeroll and stood up.

“Does he even know where anything is?” Hermione asked, watching Harry wander.

“Nope, but I think moving will help his restlessness,” Draco huffed. “Has he ever been able to sit still? Better yet, not go on two runs a day? He’s taking to doing sit-ups and push-ups and other exercises every morning and night in my dorm.” Not that Draco is complaining; he’ll happily sit and watch Harry work out, especially since Draco is the cardio.

“Not since he learned to kick a football,” Hermione said.

“Maybe you should take him out to the Quidditch pitch, let him run himself into the ground while you fly above him,” Ron suggested, and Draco thought it might be a good idea. He didn’t join the Quidditch team this year for two reasons: one, he’s an omega, and they aren’t allowed on the team, and two, he’s busy.

It’s been ten minutes, and Harry has yet to come back. Draco frowned and looked around, but he couldn’t see Harry, so he must’ve wandered further into the shelves. He got up and went the way he saw the alpha going and checked every aisle until he found his alpha holding a book to his chest and staring blankly—the same blank face he gives to incomprehensible magic explanations—at a Ravenclaw omega. Draco moved to hide behind the shelf. He knew he shouldn’t be testing the alpha like this, but there was a small, insecure part of Draco that was scared his alpha would be like all other alphas. His father and mother had told him from a young age that alphas need multiple companions to be happy. He knows it’s not true, but a lot of alphas still bond with multiple omegas.

“I have no clue what you just said,” he said, and the omega laughed and leaned forward towards his alpha, but Harry took a big step back.

“An Amortentia, has Draco not taught you anything?” She asked, voice going flirty. “You know, I can teach you more about—”

“I’m going to stop you right there,” Harry said, voice firm but not mean. “Draco is my omega. I’m going to mate with him. I don’t care whatever wizarding normalcy it is for an alpha to have multiple omegas or for the omega to lose most if not all of their autonomy, but I’m not abiding by that. So please never attempt something like this with me again, and please do spread the word. I’m not cheating on Draco Potter. I’m his just as much as he’s mine.” Draco watched as the omega’s eyes filled with tears and she turned on her heels and sped-walked away.

“Stupid backwards world,” Harry muttered to himself, reaching up to grab another book and then turning around to see Draco standing there looking sheepish. “You saw that, didn’t you?” Draco nodded. “Draco?” Harry asked, moving the books to one arm, and then extended his other arm, and Draco took his hand and let himself be tugged forward. “Love, did you stand there just to see how I would react when another omega flirts with me?”

“I refuse to confirm nor deny,” Draco muttered into Harry’s shoulder.

“When’s the next time we can go to Diagon Alley?” Harry asked.

“The next weekend I come to visit,” Draco said, turning his head so he was resting his cheek on Harry’s shoulder but looking away from the alpha.

“Would getting that bracelet for me help you feel more secure that I’m not going to go and bond with other omegas or even entertain the idea?” Harry asked, and Draco shrugged. “Okay, what will?”

“I’ve seen powerful alphas and low-level alphas replace their omegas all the time. Sometimes, I think, why would I be any different? And, I don’t have a family anymore, if you cast me aside, I don’t have any legs to stand on because by law, I’m nothing without an owner,” Draco admitted and Harry frowned.

“I wish I could go back and kill your father,” Harry murmured, and Draco chuckled. “As long as you don’t send someone my way to flirt with me just to test me, hang back and watch if it makes you feel better.”

“It does, but I also wish they’ll all stop lusting over you,” Draco muttered.

“So do I,” Harry said, hugging him tightly. “Come on, you have your exam to study for, and I have to familiarize myself with mating law, and Muggle mating law.”

“Thank you,” Draco chuckled and looked up at Harry. “For everything.”

“You don’t need to thank me for loving you,” Harry said, leaning down and placing a soft kiss on his lips.

~~~
“Ugh,” Harry said, throwing his hands in the air and then dropping his head on Draco’s shoulder.
“See, this is why I dropped the class,” Ron said, looking at Hermione, who rolled her eyes.
“What don’t you understand?” Hermione asked, and Harry glared at her.
“All of it,” Harry snapped, sitting upright. “Did you know that once we’re mated, even in Muggle London, you still have to abide by your world’s law?”
“Let me see,” Draco said, reaching for the book.
“Even though I don’t have magic and my house doesn’t have magic, your collar won’t allow you to speak to me unless I allow it. Or to touch me unless I allow it. Or to kiss me unless I allow it. Or to sleep in the same bed as me,” Harry said, getting more annoyed and louder as he went on. “The only thing he can do without my permission first is cook and clean. COOK AND CLEAN!” Harry threw his hands up in exasperation. “The only way around this is if I write on a magical contract stating that I, Harry Potter, alpha of Potter House, allow mated omega, Draco Potter, to speak to me without my explicit permission.” Harry’s jaw dropped. “I have to do that for everything!” He flipped a page in his notebook and held it up for them to see. “If I want Draco to be able to talk whenever he wants in the house, I have to write that the can speak without my explicit permission, speak when spoken to, speak in the presence of muggles, speak in the presence of wizards, speak in the presences of witches, speak in my absence in the room, speak in my absence of the house, speak when muggles–”
“Okay, I think we get your point, mate,” Ron cut off because his head was hurting just by listening to the list.
“Do you?” Harry asked, now getting angry. “Because that’s for if I want him to speak. If Draco wants to be able to yell or sass at me or anyone or snark or talk back or interrupt or basically be able to talk without sounding like a monotone robot, I have to write it specifically for each instance. And every type of being there is. Muggles. Wizards. Witches. Half-blood. Muggle-born. Goblin. Werewolf because those exist too.”  He dropped his head back on the table.
“Why didn’t I know this?” Draco frowned. “I thought because you’re a Muggle and we’ll be living in your Muggle house in Muggle London that it won’t affect me there.”
“Because the magic’s in your collar, so it doesn’t matter where you are,” Harry muttered into his elbow.
“We can try to attest it with the Minist-” Draco started to say.
“Absolutely not,” Harry said, sitting up. “You can’t go to university as a bonded omega. You have to be mated. Especially since you want to be a barrister and that requires a master's degree. Not to mention this is your culture's customs, and you’re affected by this daily. If we simply remain as bonded, then you would be at the bottom of the social ladder, and any chance of getting a non-entry-level job or even going for further education is gone. Not to mention the bond will wear off in ten years unless we re-bond, but we already do that, so that won’t be a problem. But anyways,” Harry waved his hand as if to wave away the side track he just ventured on. “A mated omega, if given permission, can go for the higher-up job positions and, as long as their alpha isn’t a controlling dipshit, can live a pretty normal life. So we are continuing this process; you’re just going to have to listen to me complain about your backwards worlds.” Harry was breathing heavily after his rant.
“We can help,” Hermione piped up. “We’ll just have to think of every scenario before you two get mated.”
“I, Harry Potter, alpha of Potter House, allow mated omega, Draco Potter, to hex anyone he chooses to,” Harry said as he wrote it down, and Draco chuckled. “I, Harry Potter, alpha of Potter House, allow mated omega, Draco Potter, to challenge any magical or non-magical law.”
“Harry, I’m serious—” Draco started to protest.
“So am I,” Harry cut him off. “Unless you don’t want to mate with me because you don’t want to be mated, we’re mating. I saw the way your eyes lit up when we walked into that store, and the way you so easily rattled what you wanted. You thought about this, probably even dreamt about this. I’m not taking that away because the law is being a restrictive asshole. I don’t back down from a fight, and I’m going to find every possible loophole and follow the law to a T while still allowing you to retain your own autonomy and identity. It’s called malicious compliance. You are my partner, not my property.”
“I’ll help you with the wording,” Draco said, trying to fight back the tears in his eyes.
“Thank you,” Harry said and pulled Draco into his lap. “Now continue to study while I stay close to your scent before I try to storm into your government and bash their heads in. Oh, and I give Ronald Weasley permission to speak to Draco Potter, and Draco Potter is allowed to speak to Ronald Weasley in my presence.”
“Thanks, mate,” Ron said. “Hello, Potter.”
“Weasley,” Draco said, and Harry rested his chin on top of Draco’s shoulder.
~~~

The rest of the week, Harry spent it with his nose buried in books. He was learning every detail about the law and took notes that revived Hermione’s notes. Harry had even gone to Dumbledore and asked him a whole list of questions and showed him a draft of the mating contract. The entire time, Draco had sat back and watched as Harry would switch from being confused to appalled to exasperated to angry and then grumbling about it being a backwards world, all in a span of ten seconds. He feels like he should be more worried considering it’s his life that is going to change once the mating collar is put on, but with how hard Harry is trying to figure it out, he’s more amused. It’s oddly fun watching Harry crash out.

Before Harry left, he had given Dumbledore a fourth draft of the magical contract for him to correct and send back to Harry and even given Harry permission to send him owl messages with more questions.

~~~
“These next two weeks are going to be hard without you,” Draco sighed. They were lying in Draco’s bed after Harry gave Draco three orgasms.
“You’ll be distracted with your new job,” Harry said, and Draco frowned. “Dumbledore gave me your N.E.W.Ts early, and I signed off for you to become a tutor. That’s what orgasm number three was for. You deserved it, and more.”
“Really!?!” Draco asked, turning around to look at Harry.
“If anyone gives you crap, you tell me, okay?” Harry said seriously, and Draco nodded.
“Everyone will probably gush about you; you are very loved at this school, especially after your explosive rant in the library.”
“So I’ve been told,” Harry sighed.
“It’s already hit the Prophet,” Draco continued, and Harry’s face grimaced. “I think you might start a movement.”
“From what? Speaking the truth? A bonded or mated omega can’t speak unless given permission when they’re in the presence of their alpha. Plus a long list of things that I think will be easier if you just read the list,” Harry rolled his eyes.
“But it’s students who are speaking up for their parents. Since students under the age of 18 are treated as of equal value in terms of their type of education, they have freedom of speech. And those bonded omegas are staying away from their alpha, so they too have freedom of speech. It’s the mated omegas who are more restricted, but still. The voices are getting louder,” Draco said, and Harry still grimaced.
“Do I even wanna know what they’re calling it?”
“The Potter movement,” Draco said, grinning.
“Me Potter or you Potter?” Harry asked, and Draco pointed at him. “Ugh,” he said. “I’m a Muggle alpha. I’m the worst person to name an omega right movement after.”
“You’re kinda their hero. Their inspiration,” Draco said dramatically, and Harry sighed.
“Your world is weird,” he said.
“And yet you’re becoming a hero in my world,” Draco said, smirking at Harry, and the alpha just rolled his eyes.
Notes:
I hope you guys liked it!!!!
If I decide to write more in this universe (I already have another part written), it'll be more just snippets in their lives.
Also, sorry if I went too much into the politics of the wizarding world regarding omegas. I got so lost in it as I was writing that I gave myself a headache.
