Chapter Text

"Ow!"

"What was that for?!" Frank snapped

"Well you survived the bullets, you can survive the healing needed to fix you up." Marc grumbled, wrapping a bandage over the wound, that trafficking put up much more of a fight than both of them had initially thought, Marc quietly suspected that they had connections to Zodiac, but he didn't need to bother Frank about his borderline stalker at the moment.

"Well can you stop wrapping that so tight? I can feel my arm Marc..." He replied

"Fine." The white clad man shrugged slightly loosening the bandages, slightly "You really should be more careful Frank..." he muttered

"This again? Look, the second you take your advice, I'll do the same."

Marc, slowly looked up at Frank, abandoning the bandages. Staring at him with his glowing, bright blue eyes, the kind of stare that would make any sane person back away. "Frank. You are not the avatar of a god. You will not be brought back from the dead to serve their whim once more. I cannot have that."

Frank did not have an answer to that. He sat there, the warehouse they were in silent for an uncomfortable amount of time. "What would you do if I actually died? he said, finally

Marc leant in close to Franks face "I would scour every afterlife to bring you back. I would make a deal with Mephisto, Dormammu, Hades, even Osiris himself if I had to."

"Oh..."

"Yeah, sorry, that was a bit much." Marc drew back "Got a little carried away, heh."

"Its fine." Frank smiled "I would do the same too man."

"Thanks." he replied, going back to dressing Frank's wounds

"Do you need help with that?" Frank muttered

"With what?"

"The gaping gash in your side?" He asked

"Oh!" Marc lifted up his arm to reveal an ugly wound, it was crusted at the sides where the blood tried to clot, but it was far too large to heal by itself. "Huh, I did not notice that... Nah I'm fine for now." he shrugged

"How the fuck did you not notice a that?! That must have hurt." Frank exclaimed

"Oh yeah, I don't really feel pain, in a normal sense" Marc replied calmly

"...WHAT."

"Yeah, the only semblance of pain I get is if a body part gets chopped off, or I'm impaled." he replied

"H-HOW???"

"I don't know, years of fighting like I do will dull your pain receptors a little, also its probably because I'm technically a reanimated corpse." He smiled

"...You're insane." Frank stated

"Takes one to know one, Frankie." Marc replied, grinning

"Shut up."

"Love you too."

"Just remember, your not invulnerable. You're not Luke Cage." Frank reminded

"Ok, ok! Fine!" Marc held his hands up in surrender "And I think you're done." he said, sitting down next to him and tossing over the medical supplies "Your turn."

Frank picked up the med kit, pulling out disinfectant, a cloth, a needle and a thread. He set to work, cleaning and stitching up the wounds on marc.

"Hey, do remember the last time the Defenders all got together?" Marc asked "Its been ages, which is probably a good thing."

"I think it was the last time Fisk was in power." Frank replied, now having gotten to dressing the wounds.

"Ah yes!" Marc snapped his fingers "That was it! Yeah, that one was fun, getting to punch Fisk in his fat face."

Frank chuckled "Preach."

"Hey you know Spider?" Marc went on

"Yeah, what about him?"

"Apparently he got with one of the members of the Fantastic Four! Whatshisname... The Human torch!"

"No fucking way, Johnny Storm?! Pete's got game I'll tell you that!" Frank laughed

"Yeah, I'm happy for him, at least some of us can find happiness in our line of work." Marc shrugged

Frank nodded "You're done by the way."

"Thanks. Anyway-" the two of them continued to talk jumping from topic to topic, from hero relationship drama to what villains were at large at the time.

Marc looked up from the conversation to spot the first rays of sunlight peeking through the buildings "Its morning already? Sorry Frank, I've got to go now." he stood up

"Really? Damn."

"Yeah, its been nice, see you around."

"Bye Moonie." Frank grinned, watching the white clad vigilante walk out of the warehouse with some regret.

"Well, back to business"
