Chapter Text

Ochako uraraka was a simple girl. Wake up. Train. Go to class. Eat. More class. Train. Sleep. It was a nice routine. Simple like the girl she is. Simple. A person in the background. Always in the middle. Never infront. Never behind. That was until the war rolled around. Front lines. She could still remember how the knife twisted. The feelings of her inside being ripped. How she could taste the blood. How her heart had stopped. It had stopped. No one knew apart from the medics. They had called it hypovolemic cardiac arrest. No more blood left to pump. It was all internal now. Her wound was sewn together by the very person who had stabbed her. It was only the outside. It kept the blood in atleast. Himiko had died for her. She couldn't complain. The cold feeling of her arm around her. She would never forget it. The cutest girl in the world. She hated that girl. She loved her. She would much rather it be her that died. She doesn't deserve the gift of life. Not after she took it away from Himiko. Now she was here. In this sterile room. Heart moniter beeping. Scars littered her body. Yet, that didn't compare to the scar left on her mind. That smile. Her smile. Gosh she loved when people smiled. Let alone the cutest girl in the world smiling. She would do anything to see that smile again. Anything. Her pupils grazed around the room, adjusting to the glaring lights. She had been in a coma for a week. A full week. Seven days unresponsive. It was to be expected. She didn't have it as bad as Bakugo or Izuku so she couldn't complain. Just had to endure the pain. After all she didn't die. It was only on paper that her heart had stopped. Or didn't have her arms chopped off. Only a few stab wounds. Even poor Hawks had his wings burned off. She couldn't complain. Speaking of Hawks, he was in a chair in her room. What? She had to double check her eyes weren't deceiving her. Why was Hawks in her room? His yellow met brown, she was taken aback for a moment. Not all yellow means Himiko. Stop messing up Uraraka. Hawks waved at her, she tried to wave back. Turns out being in a coma weakens you. Funny. All she could do was attempt a smile, it came out sluggish and lopsided. That seemed to be enough for Hawks. Though seriously, why the fuck was he here? The bird answered, his own voice coming out hoarse.
"Hey, Uraraka. You're probably confused as of why i'm here. I'd be too as we haven't interacted. But i saw what you did to the twice army. A shame it wasn't broadcasted. Silly camera-women forgot to charge their equipment. Nevermind, i'll have to figure out a way to retrieve the footage. For now, i want to congratulate you. Not for Toga's death before you protest. For your resilience against her. And your strength. Bloody hell that was one hell of a spectacle. All pink orbs and stuff. Bloody brilliant. I also wanted to check on you. You look half dead still. Probably because you woke up a few hours ago."
The flightless bird chuckled, Uraraka could only stare. Why does life have to be such a bitch? Nevermind. She was tired. Everything ached. Hawks seemed to notice her eyelids drooping and exited the room. Finally, peace and quiet.

Familiar cat like eyes looked into hers, Himiko. Her himiko. She noticed the girl's smile widen. Cute. She could hear her giggles, like she was here. With her. The thought of being with Himiko made her heart race. She looked around, all green. It was perfect. Anything with Himiko is perfect. Ochako chuckled to herself. It was nice. Unfortunately, everything has to come to an end. Especially nice things.

She was now back at the U.A dorms. Her parents were busy rebuilding. Lucky. They'll now have more money. Not many people have transferred back to the dorms, opting to spend time with their famillies. She gets it. She would just rather not wake her parents up with screams. She could still feel the plunge of the knife. Still feel the twist. How her insides ripped. How blood tasted. The feeling when her heart stopped. She opted not to tell anyone. She couldn't complain. Others had ut worse. She was glad the others weren't back in the dorms yet. It'd be too loud. It's already too loud. The rest of the girls were with their famillies. She couldn't blame them. War sucks. Family helps. Yet her parents didn't help. They weren't around to help. Well they haven't been around since she could remember. Nothing new. Atleast their faces weren't as depressed looking. Still looked pretty dreadful though. Too much work. Nothing was ever good enough for them. She couldn't complain. Wouldn't. They had provided for her. It wasn't perfect but they tried and that was enough. For now she was in the common room, picking at some mochi, she wasn't really in the mood to eat. She never used to eat that much food anyways. It wasn't much different. Denki and Kirishima were talking way too loud for her liking. Blabbing about nonsense. She couldn't make anything out despite their loud volume. Honestly, it was too loud. Kirshima chuckled at something before Denki said the phrase "so tell me" it was a simple phrase. Almost as simple of a girl she was. Yet she freezed up, the yellow flooding back into her mind. Himiko. HIMIKO. Shit. She could feel the sobs coming up, so she did what she knew how to. She ran. Ran to the bathroom where she puked what little food she had. God. You would've thought she was used to vomiting due to how often she did it but it still stung every time. Cleaning herself up she went back down like nothing happened. No one batted an eye. It was common for people to run at random times now. Odd. Why did they have to fight the higher class villains? They were teenagers. TEENAGERS. Nevermind. She couldn't complain. Others had it worse. She looked to her left, tokoyami sitting down, she softly smiled at him. He had faced All for one. Much scarier than the cutest girl in the world. He had it worse. He suddenly spoke, which came to a bit of a shock, he was antisocial plus they had never spoken before.
"The darkness welcomes you greatfully, we have sensed your shift towards us, you see the shadows and embrace them. Thank you"
Uraraka raised an eyebrow, she was confused but seemed to understand him in a way.
"I have realized it is not all... black and white"
Her eyes flickered to her hands before continuing.
"I think of her sometimes. How if heros hadn't failed her, she would still be alive. Maybe we could've been friends? It's stupid really. All of my dreams never come true. It's a harsh realization but... maybe some miracles would happen in another lifetime."
Tokoyami nodded, he didn't need her to explain anymore. They sat in comfortable silence, or well as much silence as you could get in a common room. She looked at the clock mounted on the wall, midnight. She should go to sleep. But sleep didn't help, not anymore. So she got up and made herself a black coffee, bringing one to Tokoyami as she knew he wouldn't aswell. She heard light footsteps coming down the stairs, it was obviously Shinso. They usually met around this time to talk about everything and nothing. Shinso noticed his mug was already out with coffee granules and poured his water into it gratefully, sitting down next to the two others. Tokoyami and Uraraka nodded at Shinso. Uraraka often didn't speak much at all, atleast not now. Only with a few. Not with Izuku. Not with Tsu. With Shinso and Keigo. She preffered quieter ones now. Now it seemed Tokoyami was joining her and Shinso in what could only be described as a gossip session. Shinsou took a long sip of his matching black coffee before finally speaking.
"Izuku and Bakugo were deffo fucking before the war"
Tokoyami nodded and Uraraka added on.
"I tried to get Izuku to help me with maths homework and walked in on him and Bakugo going at it. #traumatuzed yknow!?"
The two boys chuckled, Tokoyami's voice conveying his annoyance.
"My eardrums pick up on their devils tango while I was trying complete my rituals"
Dark shadow solemly agreed. They spent hours yapping and talking shit, no one else came downstairs so they had no restraint while gossiping. Uraraka was now on her sixth coffee that night, jittering in her seat. The other two emos in similar states. It was six am. Six full hours of doing whatever they wanted. Uraraka grabbed a blanket, sprawing herself across one of the couches, Shinso and Tokoyami following her example. Urarakas head snapped to the door, using her quirk instinctivly on a now floating Aizawa, pink orbs surrouded him, confusing everyone on how she floated him from here. That was until the floor tiles lifted and she frowned.
"Well shit. Fuck my quirk..."
Aizawa and the other three including dark shadow raised their eyebrows. None of them had heard class 1 A's sweetheart swear. No one. Atleast up until now. She didn't even look apologetic. Just tired as she released her quirk.
"Aizawa, what do ya need? You only come in the dorms if you really need to."
Shinso Tokoyami and dark shadow shared the same question as Uraraka's. Aizawa took a deep sigh, as if just being in other peoples presence pained him.
"You're all going to mandatory therapy session when Classes start. I just came in advance because i knew you four would be up. Your eyebags are rivaling my own and that's saying something. But honestly? You're kids that were sent to a place even adults can't handle. So i couldn't give two shits if people think it's healthy. You have no choice"
The man then turned around and left like nothing happened. The three people stared at eachother, even dark shadow looked scared for the mention of "mandated therapy". So they did what kids could do... they made more coffee. It was unhealthy sure, but war was unhealthy. And dreaming about a dead girl was questionable at best. But who gave a damn? Clearly not the people who allowed them in a battlefield. They sat in silence, a few others came down and noticed them but didn't say anything, doing what they needed to do before going.
