Chapter Text
“Shane Hollander?” Troy said as he entered the office building. He recognised him from the interviews.
Shane was very smart, eloquent, and had a great presence of mind. Although he was not truly fit to just be a personal secretary to the new CEO, the company needed someone like Shane right now in any capacity. They did not have other positions open at the moment, but given his qualifications in communications and his skills, they could not let him go either.
Even Scott Hunter was impressed when he heard him answer some trick questions in the interview; he was a hard man to please.
“Yes, that’s me,” Shane said and stood up from the waiting area.
“Come along; I will brief you.” Troy assessed if Shane gave any signs of excitement or nervousness, but there were none.
He walked towards him and then with him like he knew the place all too well. They stepped into the elevator to get to the top floor, and in the meantime Shane was being told everything he should know on his first day.
He stood tall; well, he was tall, nearly six foot one, his chin up and his black glasses made him look crisp, along with the suit, which looked like it was custom-made for him. His hair was longish, and he had a stubble, maybe two or three days old.
Troy tried not to come across as puppy in love already. But he had to admit, Shane was hot. And hoped that he was not for the girls or just for the girls.
Shane heard Troy repeat every single detail about the new CEO, which he had already learnt from gossip websites. Only some of them were untrue.
“Oh, his temper is terrible. Probably stress from being thrown into all of this when he could be chilling in Greece or something.” Troy snickered, but Shane pulled his lips tight together.
Till now he had learnt that the guy was a womaniser, troublemaker, irresponsible, dumb, had poor leadership skills and, of course, a bad temper. But he wanted to meet him himself before he let all these opinions take over.
“Come in!” The person barked from inside the cabin, startling Troy. It was too early in the morning to be screamed at.
“Good Morning, Mr Rozanov. This is Shane Hollander, your new secretary. I have briefed him about everything important. I-“
“Troy, you can leave. Shane, right? Where’s my coffee?”
“Bringing it in right now, sir,” Shane said and calmly walked out of the door with Troy behind him.
“He takes one sugar, right?” Shane confirmed with Troy, who was convinced that Shane definitely deserved a better role.
A few minutes later, Shane brought him his coffee.
Ilya Grigoryevich Rozanov.
He read the nameplate. It was a nice name, but the person was not so much maybe. He was reading the same document as he was when Shane was here before Troy.
“If you wish, I can read this up and brief you about it,” Shane suggested, placing his coffee on the table.
Ilya looked up and saw that he was serious. He didn’t want him to think he was stupid. He knew English; of course, he could understand it, but these documents and clauses and rules were too technical for him to understand.
“You think I am stupid?” He grumbled.
“Not at all, sir. I am your assistant; I believe these tasks come under my role. I would be happy to assist you and make it easier for you.” Shane chose his words wisely.
He noticed how improper Ilya’s tie was, his desk was messy, and his mind was clearly not here.
“Is it?” Ilya felt relieved. At least he would not think he was stupid if it was his job.
“Yes, sir.” Shane sounded confident, so Ilya handed him every document of which he needed to know the content.
Ilya noticed he was different. He was the fifth assistant he had in ten days, and he was not already crumbling, unlike others.
It took Shane an hour to finish reading through the documents; he had prepared his notes and emailed them already to Ilya. He sat right next to his cabin; the common wall they shared was made of glass.
Ilya read them, and he understood the matter quickly. Shane had helped him immensely because it was written in simple English; even a child would understand that.
Shane kept coming in and out of Ilya’s cabin all day long. He understood what the problem was, and he was quick to fix them all.
Ilya had just come to Boston; he had spent his whole life in Russia with his mother. His father had left his mother for another woman and had started a company here in Boston.
Twenty days ago, his father had passed away, and he had to come from Moscow to take over, which he never wanted. He always thought his father would choose Alexei, his elder brother or the kids he had with the new woman. He was surprised when it was revealed that his father wanted him to continue his legacy.
His father’s other kids were too young, apparently, and his brother too dumb to do this right. His father was never there for him except financially, so he was just expecting good fortune from his will and nothing else.
But now he was stuck here. And for the first time in so many days, he felt that just in a few hours, Shane was the first person who had actually seen him. Shane was not expecting anything from him, so it was refreshing.
Shane understood the situation very well. Ilya was struggling and was crumbling under pressure, but he could not let anyone see that because he was the fcking CEO and he was answerable to so many people at the moment. So, he did anything and everything to make it easier for Ilya.
The next two weeks, Ilya felt like he finally understood things here with Shane by his side. He was the first assistant he had started admiring. He would ask Shane to accompany him to the meetings; even then, he felt comfortable discussing things with him before he voiced them out loud in front of everyone.
As things started falling in place, Ilya started to notice things about Shane which necessarily weren’t professional, like how his shirt strained against his biceps or how it was spread across his muscular chest. Some days when he wouldn’t wear a tie and leave a few buttons open, Ilya tried not to be distracted by the skin he showed.
It had been two months since he was here; it was too soon for him to cause a scandal, especially one involving his secretary. The previous ones in the position were neither competent nor attractive enough to get his attention, but something about Shane was different.
He was confident, self-assured, and calm, a feeling that grounded Ilya. He had no friends here and wanted to ask if Shane could be with him beyond work hours to just keep him company, but he avoided asking him that. So, he had to be content with just their professional relationship.
“All the files, arranged in order as you asked, sir,” Shane said, handing over the files to Ilya across his desk. His fingers briefly brushed Ilya’s. He didn’t move fast to retract his hand; he let them linger.
Ilya took notice of their contact and looked at Shane; his face heated up at the most minimum contact.
“Thank you.” He darted his eyes around, hoping no one registered their interaction, but he had forgotten that nobody even was there on this floor except the two of them.
Shane found his boss hot. There was no denying it. And his accent, it gave him a hard on every time he said rolled the ‘r’s and especially when he said his last name. ‘Hollander.’ Ilya was so freaking hot; no wonder the female employees were all hot for him. And maybe some male employees too.
He thought about their brief touch for days. He could tell Ilya did not mind it either. He recognised the way he would look at him sometimes. Like he wanted to forget he was his boss and just kiss him. It was dangerous, and maybe that was why the scenario was so hot in his head.
He had imagined so many times making out with him on his wooden desk; no matter who was on top, he just wanted to kiss him once. Or twice. Ilya had beautiful, luscious lips, and what would he not give to have a taste of them? So far, in three months, he had not taken a leave even when Ilya had himself told him to. He did not want to miss the fresh scent of Ilya when he walked in the morning.
Shane did a great job of hiding his attraction towards him. He sat beside him in all the meetings, and sometimes he just wanted to reach out and hold his hand when he saw him getting worked up. But he held back at all times. He also wanted to shut up one particular senior executive who wouldn’t hesitate to take jabs at Ilya until one day he finally got the chance.
“So, this is what you call strategy? We are a cybersecurity firm, not cyber-stupidity! AI is a threat to our security, and you want us to integrate it into our defence system!” Gerald yelled, getting a few other senior officials to agree with him.
Ilya stayed silent.
He was presenting an idea that the young employees had proposed to him. He liked it, Shane approved of it, and he just had to get the board’s approval before they officially started working on it.
“You got this role through inheritance, not competence. It is showing. Who needs qualifications or experience to lead a company with a legacy these days? Surname should be enough, right?” Gerald got a few uncomfortable glances in his direction.
The majority of the room had liked the proposal. They wanted to vote in favour and let the idea come to fruition at the earliest. But Gerald questioned everything, like always, because he thought he was the most qualified person to become the CEO after Ilya’s father.
But the board was happy to comply with his father’s will first. And Ilya had not disappointed them so far. Yes, in the beginning his attitude was troublesome, but they also considered that he was a young guy who had just lost his father and was burdened with a whole company.
“Passionate about qualifications, aren't we?” Shane typed fast on the laptop and opened the folder with Gerald’s pictures in compromising positions with girls half his age. What's the right degree to pay young girls to sleep with you on the ‘business trips’ funded by the company? What degree do you need, sir?”
There were audible gaps from around them. Some laughed at him being finally exposed for his dirty doings.
Ilya smiled, staying silent.
“Or is it a Master's in Incompetence for the board to trust a young guy instead of you to lead the company?” Shane pulled up a few articles from years ago about a scandal where Gerald had failed to keep some sensitive information to himself, which was crucial to the company he was then employed at.
“Or is it Masters in Ignorance and Carelessness when hanging out with rivals in their private event right before an important deal is to happen?” He showed another picture and the timeline.
Ilya, like many others, was not fond of Gerald, so he was loving it like the majority. He got a text from Troy, who was also in the meeting; he just wanted his permission before hitting send, which Ilya instantly gave.
“Shane Hollander, I can fire you right now for this unprofessional behaviour!”
“But for that you will have to keep your position first.” Troy intervened. “Check your mail.”
Gerald hurriedly checked his inbox to find an official email stating that he was suspended and that an internal investigation team would be contacting him soon regarding irregularities in the execution of his duties.
Ilya gave a nod to Troy and stood up to announce that they would continue this meeting on Monday without Gerald. It was early, but he asked everyone to leave early and wished them a happy weekend. He had loved how Shane had jumped to his defence in front of everyone. He wanted to kiss him right then and there.
Shane and Ilya were in an elevator, on their way to the parking lot.
“You have a smart mouth on you,” Ilya said, in appreciation of how Shane had tackled Gerald in the meeting.
“I know. It’s skilful too.” Shane smirked, making Ilya lick his lips.
“What do you mean?” Ilya pressed him.
“Oh, I think you know what I mean, sir,” Shane said, darkness clouding his brown eyes.
“I don’t, but I would like to find out.” Ilya looked at him innocently.
“There is only one way to find out, Mr Rozanov.” Shane challenged, moving closer to him, caging him between himself and the elevator wall.
“Then let me find out.” Ilya chased Shane’s lips, forgetting they were still in the building.
Shane hit the emergency stop button and smiled, letting Ilya think he was about to kiss him, but instead, he quickly pulled away and knelt in front of him.
“You will have to be quick to find out, sir.” The way Shane kept saying sir, it was stupid, but it turned Ilya on. His mouth hovered close to his cock as he worked with his belt and unbuttoned his pants. “Ready?”
Ilya nodded as Shane took him out, in his palm, running his tongue up and down his cock before taking him into his mouth.
“Shane!” Ilya’s body jerked forward as Shane sucked him. He was holding onto the railing behind him for his dear life. Shane was so good at this. Really very skilful.
Ilya grabbed him by his long black hair to thrust deep into his mouth, breathing hard and cursing in a mix of English and Russian as Shane worked his mouth on him.
“Fuck, you are good!” The sloppy sounds of Shane sucking him echoed off the elevator’s walls. “Fuck, Shane, just move back! I am going to come!” Ilya moaned.
Shane did not stop and instead took him deeper. He was aware that he could not let Ilya come anywhere else than down his throat or they would leave evidence for others.
“Holy fucking hell!” Shane massaged his balls and tugged at the base of his cock. Ilya came on his tongue; Shane licked it up greedily, not missing a single strip of cum.
He stood up immediately, and Ilya tucked his semi-hard dick back inside, fixing his hair and clothes when they heard people from the other side of the elevator doors. They must have thought that it malfunctioned and they came to rescue.
The doors were forcefully opened by a technician, while two employees stood there, one of them being Troy.
“Are you okay?” He asked, almost touching Shane to physically make sure Shane was okay.
“Yes, very fine,” Shane said, making Ilya cough. “He was getting a bit claustrophobic; thanks for the rescue.”
Shane made way for Ilya to step out first and then followed behind him.
“You have something on your chin." Troy pointed out. Ilya hurriedly got into another elevator to avoid looking embarrassed in front of him.
“Ahh, probably nothing.” Shane swiped his thumb under on his chin before following behind Ilya. He thanked Troy and the technician again before the elevator doors closed once again.
He lifted his thumb and flicked his tongue over it. After a few seconds of silence, they both burst into laughter.
“I did not know I had claus-o-pho-bia.” Ilya knew what it meant but struggled to pronounce it correctly.
“Today is a day about discoveries.” Shane shrugged. He meant it in more than one way.
