Bang Chan was a beta, or at least that’s what he had always assumed. He felt like his looks were average, he got along with everyone and anyone for the most part, and he had never actually presented (which usually happened between the ages of 15 and 20).
That’s why, when he had decided to move to a bigger city after he turned 25, he chose to move in with one of his close friends so he would have someone to split the bills with.

Chan stayed in his bedroom, thrashing around in his bed and sobbing as heat flooded his body. He felt like he was dying. His head was pounding, he was starving and nauseous all at the same time, and his lower back felt like somebody had taken a hammer to his spine (and not in a good way).
Hours had passed before Hyunjin finally came home. He had been out meeting with a friend and running some random errands.
“Chan Hyung! I’m home~” He shouted, announcing his presence like he normally did as he set his keys and phone down on the counter and began putting away the few groceries he had grabbed on his way home. He was a bit surprised when he didn’t hear the usual reply from his friend, though he just assumed the poor sleep-deprived man had finally succumbed to his inevitable mid-day nap.
After a few minutes, the scent that had seeped under Chan’s door throughout the day had finally made its way out to the kitchen. Hyunjin froze, his eyes widening. This was the scent of an omega in heat.
His inner wolf growled, his own chest thrumming with adrenaline as he exited the kitchen to look down the hallway and his eyes zeroed in on Chan’s bedroom door. Hyunjin stalked closer, pressing his ear to the door to try and hear any signs of movement inside.
Small whines could be heard, bedsheets rustling behind the closed door.
“Channie Hyung? Are you alright?”
“Hyunjinnie~” Chan cried from the room, his voice already sounding wrecked. Hyunjin couldn’t imagine how long the poor man had been suffering like this, all alone in their quiet apartment. “P-please, help…”
Hyunjin’s eyes widened at the pained sound of Chan’s voice and he made quick work of opening the door, rushing inside to see the state of his friend.
Chan was naked, sprawled on his back and surrounded by what definitely looked like the sad beginnings of a nest. His legs were spread, a hand weakly trying to force his own fingers into himself as slick coated his inner thighs and squelched out around his fingers. “It h-hurts! Chan yawned and rubbed his eyes, still feeling exhausted but not unbearably so.
Hyunjin cradled Chan’s weak body close, twisting the cap from the bottle and helping him take some small sips. “Slow now, Channie hyung.. There you go..” He spoke softly, brushing some hair from Chan’s forehead.
The omega purred happily at the gentle care from his alpha, cuddling closer before he finally registered the slightly burnt scent of a distressed alpha. He opened his eyes and looked up at Hyunjin with a worried expression. “Jinnie..? Are you okay, did something happen?” His voice was hoarse from earlier, which only made Hyunjin feel worse.
The alpha whimpered as tears welled up in his eyes, shaking his head and setting the water bottle aside before hugging Chan close. “Hyung… I’m so s-sorry..” He cried, hiding his face in Chan’s chest. “I promise, I’ll t-take responsibility.. I didn’t want to hurt you, I just l-love you so much-”
Chan’s eyes widened and he sat up, pulling Hyunjin nearly into his lap and stroking his hair. “Hyunjinnie, what did you do? Why are you sorry?”
“I- I took advantage of you, hyung! You were presenting, you’re in heat! I knotted you, I claimed you!” Hyunjin’s eyes were swollen from how long he had been crying, nearly resembling Chan’s own face from earlier. Chan was quiet for a moment before he finally remembered everything that had unraveled just hours before. Now that he had a clear head, he could barely contain his joy. “Oh Jinnie.. Don’t apologize, I love you too. I’m IN love with you, I just… I never said anything because I figured that you didn’t feel the same..” He spoke gently, not wanting to come on too strong. “I wanted everything that you gave me, Hyunjin. You did everything right, you were perfect. MY perfect alpha, yeah?”
Hyunjin’s eyes widened in shock as he sniffled, letting his mind register what the older man was saying. “You’re… In love with me?” He whispered, blinking at Chan and searching for any sign that he could be lying to comfort Hyunjin. A flush spread across his cheeks. “You really mean it? You really want me?”
Chan felt his eyes grow wet as his heart swelled in his chest. “Yes baby, I want you. And I have you now, forever right?” He laughed and pointed towards his new mating mark, already healing beautifully. A sign that they were a perfect match. “You and me?”
Hyunjin grinned and hugged Chan close, a wet chuckle coming from his lips. “I can’t believe it..”
“Well you better try, alpha~” Chan teased, ruffling Hyunjin’s hair and sighing happily. “Now let’s eat some of these yummy snacks that you brought me so we have enough energy for the next wave, yeah?”
Hyunjin hummed and tackled Chan down to the bed, snuggling into his side. “Okay hyung.. I love you~”
Chan leaned down and planted a kiss to Hyunjin’s plush lips, smiling at him and wiping some stray tears from his cheeks. “I love you, Jinnie.”
