Saheon stared ahead, his eyes unseeing. He was finished, wasn’t he? The monsters hadn’t killed him yet, but if he doesn’t die by next morning, the next round of employees will be coming for him.

Chance.

There were always a chance that the humans trapped inside the darknesses possess goodwill toward other humans.

And if not, put him down.

That was what they told them.

Saheon groans softly, his head pulsing , blood rushing in his ear.

How many time had this darkness restarted already? He couldn’t tell.

But his body hurts, so bad. Did he flee from that place, jus to die here?

No.

No.

Saheon grits his teeth and pushes himself up, already gasping. His eyes gazing blearily at the sun coming up, from his spot on the roof of the mansion.

Maybe he wasn’t human anymore, maybe he still was, one thing for sure, the monster were still hostile to him so he wasn’t one of them.

Saheon would find a way to get out of here, he will claw his way out even if he wasn’t human anymore.

That thing owed him a debt, and Saheon would be damned if he didn’t get it back.

Unknow to him, his eyes, one green and one purple, took on a eery light, his face glowing with purple and green lights.

Soleum looked up from his phone, his face blank.

He han’t managed to get home. He was still trapped here. Daydream was of no use to him. The bureau was the same. He discarded Braun’s plushie long ago.

He was alone. There was no use in waiting for each faction to catch him. There were no longer relatively safe options.

Soleum looked down at his phone, all option staying for him to choose was to go in alone. Sure, some people managed just fine doing that for years, but they had training, and Soleum wasn’t them, he was a coward.

But he should try.

And he knows where to start.

| Cross road mansion

|

| A darkness that lead on a plot of land

| where a mansion resides. By completing a

| pletora of tasks, one can exit the

| darkness.

| Exit know for humans: 1

Soleum scrolled down the page searching for that one specific information.

| The mansion is a cross road between the

| future, the past, the present, the worlds

| and the dimensions.

| Humans and darkness entity can be

| trapped inside, it is recommended to exit

| before the night fall-

Not that one, Soleum already knows. It is another information he wants-

| The cross road can only be walked by

| some, no human nor darkness entity can

| by themself.

There.

Sure, if they wants to think like that, Soleum already wasn’t human anymore. A person trapped in a darkness for more than two months cannot be considered human anymore, but that didn’t mean they've become a darkness entity, as of now.

They can be something else, a something that could walk the cross road and maybe help him walk it too.

Soleum was betting on that.

Now, J3 told him something very interesting last week.

Soleum looks up at the sound of people walking to the bus stop, he was at, pulling his hood further down.

Daydream’s employees and Bureau's agents.

None that he personnaly knew.

And civilians too.

The bus stop, more precisely the bus coming to it, at this specific time of the month and at this hour, was the entry to the darkness.

Soleum ignores the stares he get as he stand up.

He ignores the gasp that the civilians make as a bus suddenly appear before them.

The door opens, and there's no driver.

Soleum gets in, it was time to help Baek Saheon out, he wonder if he'll manage to talk to him frankly.

He wants to.

And I mean, they’ll have to, if they both want to get out.

Saheon let his body fall to the floor, his breath ragged.

Something was wrong.

And by that he meant more wrong than his new usual. His body was hot and then cold, and he didn’t even want to talk about his eyes.

It’s like they wanted out of his skull, the pressure was too much. How much time has passed since he decided to not let himself die in there.

Three days? Two?

Was he loosing his humanity?

Saheon doesn’t know how to feel about that, he also doesn’t know how to feel about many things, like the fact that he could hear someone walk in his direction.

But Saheon was so tired, he could only sob weakly, warm tears streaming down his face, unmoving.

He was so tired.

Large hands lifted him up in larger arms. They were familiar, but Saheon couldn’t point as to where he felt that same feeling.

A pair of lips whispered gently in his ears, encouraging him to take a nap. Saheon did, but not before looking up, just to know who came for him.

And he couldn’t help but sigh, a little bit relieved.

It’s that bastard uh, Kim Soleum.

Soleum looked down at the limp body in his arms, contemplating for a moment before he turns around.

He has been given a room, like everyone else, but looking at Baek Saheon's state, it seems like his room is not safe anymore.

It is great then, judging by his look, Baek Saheon will be unconscious for a while, Soleum has as much time he needs to make his arrangement.

After all, there was a way to be completely safe for however long a person stay.

And it is the simplest, to stage a scene.

Baek Saheon will have to forgive him, because it is most certainly that he will wake up married to him.

A slight smile escapes him at the idea of bullying the poor man once more. Maybe he'll wait after Baek Saheon's fever pass.

Who knows?

Saheon woke up in a bed room, his sight still blurry, the pain having calmed down only slightly.

He turns his attention to his right, where a figure sits.

"Awake?"

Saheon only blinks slowly, his body resting limply on the bed. He can't muster an answer, sleep already pulling at his mind.

"...It already begun then. Sleep, I'll take care of everything."

As his eyes fall shut, he remembers who the person is, his mouth whispering their name before his mind shut down.

"Kim...... So....leum...."

Saheon falls asleep once more, and unknow to him, Kim Soleum's lips strech into an amused smile.

This pattern repeats a multitude of times, by the time Saheon wakes fully, he is sure that this round finished for a good while.

Kim Soleum still occupies the same spot, but Saheon could tell he moved.

Seeing that they were still in the room, Saheon blinks, confuse.

"There was always someone in the room, that thing hadn't been able to find a time to get in."

"Ah."

Saheon nodds, knowing why they could still occupy the room, before sitting up slowly, his body was much better.

He felt better too, his eyes having finaly stopped pulsing.

"What do you want, sir?"

Kim Soleum blinks, before tilting his head.

"I though, you were relieved to have me with you?"

Saheon barely manages to stop himself from rolling his eyes.

"You didn't have to. But you did, so that mean you want something from me, sir. In exchange of getting me out."

Kim Soleum sighs, leans back in his chair and cross his legs.

"Yeah, what are you gonna do about it, Saheon-ah?"

Saheon frowns, but turns his head the other way.

"Does it looks like I would do anything against you?"

"Why? Is it because I am not human? But I suspect you already know that Baek Saheon, long before anyone, hum? Even me."

Saheon tries firmly to not look at the dark red halo pulsing sightly behind the man.

Sure, he already knows, but he didn't think the man himself didn't know.

"I am not human anymore either, does it change anything then sir?"

Kim Soleum blinks, observing his profile, and shakes his head.

"No, it doesn't change anything. This darkness is known to trap humans and darkness entities."

Saheon tenses a little-

"But I am not a darkness entity, neither are you."

Saheon's head tuns his way, making Kim Soleum visibly cringe.

"Well it doesn't mean you can't die from a broken neck, we don't know that yet."

"I am not an entity-"

"No."

They look at each other in silence.

"Not yet at least, if all goes well you won't be."

"But-"

"You haven't been contaminated. In the months you've been left here, you haven't been contaminated, even once. At this point, if you were to become an entity, it should have happened long ago, Baek Saheon."

Saheon bites onto his lower lip.

"So what am I?"

"That's what we are going to find out! Now that you are awake."

"Uh."

It is at this time that Saheon register the cheer number of books in the room.

"Did you rob the library?"

"No one read them, if they are gonna put books in the mansion, might as well use them."

And so, much to Saheon dismay, they began to read books after books, for a chance of knowing what was happening to him.

Soleum closes another book with a sigh, a look next to him lets him know that Baek Saheon was out of comission.

The man was leaning against the foot of the bed, a book open in his lap.

To be honest, Soleum could guess what he was turning into.

There had been an entry about it in DER, but then again, Baek Saheon wasn't exibiting the signs he read about.

Or maybe he was hiding them from Soleum?

Maybe he should have told him why he nedded him?

But Soleum needed them to be able to trust each other.

To do so.

To get to know each other.

He wanted them to go forward and not look back.

His stomach gets him out of his though.

Food, right.

He should go take some again for the week, but a new round had begun yesterday.

He didn't tell Baek Saheon.

There was no use in doing so, Soleum wouldn't allow him to go out the room. It was too dangerous for him out here, more so with them not knowing what was happening.

Soleum stands up, knowing how unlucky he was, he would meet someone that knew of him.

And if he does, then, he will only have until the next round, next month, to get, him and Baek Saheon, out of here and onto the crossroad.

Saheon gives a deadpan look at Soleum, they have become quite close in the, close to, three months they spent in forced proximity.

"So you saw Agent Bronze."

"He saw me."

Saheon blinks slowly, making a point of letting Soleum knows that it didn't change their situation.

"So now, everyone probably knows that you are here."

"That I am here with you."

"Ah?"

"He might have eard me cursing you out."

Saheon closes his eyes.

"So they probably have an idea that I still have all my head. So?"

"So what?"

"What do we do, Soleum?! We can’t stay here?!"

"What do you want me to tell you?! We don’t even know for sure what you are?! We can’t human’s exit! Think Saheon!"

"I AM-"

Saheon’s hands come to his head, gripping his hairs.

"...Saheon?"

"It hurts. Wait-ah."

His eyes were burning up again, suddenly, Saheon felt a hot liquid runing down his face, from his forhead.

His hand comes up to touch it, and Saheon looks down, it was a luminescent liquid, platinium in color.

And Saheon looks up at Soleum, confusion written on his face.

"....Soleum?"

Everything became black.

Soleum reacted before thinking, his hands shoting up to held Saheon’s head together, at the sight of his head splitting into two, a luminescent liquid running down his face.

Soleum ignores the hands that tear at his clothes and his skin, his ears drowning out the cries of Saheon and his wails.

He could feel something moving over them, but Soleum knew it was an automatic answer of his to a threat.

But Saheon was not posing any threat right now, he was in agony, only being held together by Soleum's trembling hands.

So Soleum turns his head slowly toward the door, and he sees it.

The way it moves as something bash against it.

Bu they can’t come in.

They are only here because Saheon’s cries bekonned them.

Soleum sniffs and it is then that he comes to term with the fact that he can’t loose Saheon, tears run down his face but he stays.

His hands holding Saheon’s head together.

He was so scared.

Please don't take Saheon away.

They stay like that, Soleum talking to Saheon under his wails.

After hours like that, Soleum feels Saheon calming down. The sound against the door continue, now Soleum knows that the hard part just passed, but he couldn’t bring himself to get his hands far from Saheon’s head.

Eventually the sound at the door dies out, Soleum can’t help a miserable chukle from going out as he looks at his companion’s peacefull face.

He stays like that before a movement over them makes him move, he grabs Saheon before rolling off the bed and scrambling to the wall, just in time for the chandelier to fall down on the bed.

And the bashing of door began anew.

They were gonna have to find another bedroom in the morning, Soleum could do that.

For now, he sat on the floor against the wall and held the warm, alive body of Saheon.

Uh, well I guess that he is in fact, that.

The next round had begun.

Saheon gives a look to Soleum, the man was looking out the room standing by the window.

"We have to go Soleum."

"They are surely waiting for us out here."

"Yes, most certainly, but we have to go. Don’t you want to go home?"

Saying that hurt, but Saheon doesn’t show it.

"I want to, will I be able to though?"

"I'll get you here Soleum-"

Warns hands held his face and black eyes, with red iris, look into his eyes.

"Saheon."

"Yes?"

Saheon closes his eyes as Soleum's lips kiss his temple.

"I don't want you to be alone, Saheon."

Saheon blinks back tears and leans back, offering him a smile.

"I won't be, there must be some other ■■■■■ running around. I won't be alone."

They look at each other, there are much they want to say, but not know, there will be time for that when they get to the cross road.

"Let's go, Soleum?"

"...Yes, let's go."

Everything goes perfectly well, they manage to escape everyone, not without some cursing, fighting and running around, but they managed.

Until they found themself before Chief Lee Jaheon.

Saheon doesn't see the lizard that Soleum sees, he sees the man as he always appeared to him.

It is gonna be hard, but Soleumand him don't want to fight him. For Soleum, he is a trusworthy person, his mentor, a bit of a big brother.

For Saheon, they became close, they became friends. And Saheon couldn't bring himslef to fight him.

So they got to talk.

"Kim Soleum. Baek Saheon."

"Chief Lizard."

"Lee Jaheon-ssi."

They face each other.

"Can you let us pass?"

"I can't do that."

"Why? "

"I have been ordered to bring you back."

"Me too?"

Baek Saheon point at himself, suprised, he bits back a laugh as Soleum stomp his foot.

Soleum glares at him before sighing.

"Let's talk chief, we do have some time for that, right Saheon?"

Saheon nodds exitedly.

"Yes! Let's talk."

They sit down and wait for the chief join them, once he does, they talk. Lee Jaheon doesn't say much, he just listen as they tell him what they have done for the months they have stayed in the darkness.

They tell him what they've discovered, precious informations, they laugh, and they manage to get a smile out of the man.

By the time they finish, hours have passed and Saheon leans against Lee Jaheon.

Silence falls and Saheon looks up to the sky.

"Lee Jaheon-ah."

"Hum?"

"It's not a goodbye. I am just going to get Soleum home, and then, we can talk whenever you want to."

Soleum sprangs up and give them a side-eye.

"You'll abandon me?"

"But you'll be home?"

"Well yes, but I'll be there until everything come to pass. I'll live out my family life and then I'll come find you Saheon, then we can go around and see the world."

Saheon blinks, his heart warming up.

"Chief Lizard can come with us."

"But how will he contact us though?"

The began pondering and the man in question looks at them.

"I have an idea! Lee Jaheon-ah, your phone please!"

Saheon takes the phone, bitting his finger and letting, his luminescent blood fall on the screen.

"There, you can call me by your phone! Don't lose it!"

Lee jaheon nodds, pensif.

Eventually, they have to go, so they stand up and give a hug to the older man.

"See you soon chief!"

"See you soon Jaheon-ah!"

.....

"See you soon."

They beam at him before running off into the fog, Saheon looks back one last time and smile as he sees the man wave at them, they would see him soon enough, he was sure of it.

On the cross road, Soleum says "See you soon", because he was coming back.

He just wanted to go home, live off his and his family's life there, once he says his last goodbye, Soleum will come for him.

Saheon trusts him, so he lead Soleum home and wait at the cross road.

The next time Saheon opens his eyes, he is back in the orientation room. Time has stopped for everyone but him, he feels his left eye throbbing, sureley begining to regenerate.

He sighs.

And a voice answer.

"See? I am back."

Saheon straigthen up and look in the direction of the voice, his heart beating fast. Before him sits Soleum, deer's antlers on his head, red halo radiating a soft light, to wich his blood thrums.

"Soleum?"

"Hi?"

His eyes narrows into a smile

"Should we get going? They are gonna come back to themself soon."

Saheon bursts into a gleefull giggle and whisk them away, the sound of the laugh, the only sign they were here.

They don't care about the way the company scramble to get to them, turning back time for everyone just so they could meet was an assle.

Soleum promises he won't make him do it anymore.
