It was the second year of MIT when both MJ and Ned had woken with the name Peter Parker seared into their minds. Throughout that year both had gotten new memories until their minds were complete again. After the initial confusion and hurt, they tried to track Peter down.
But, even though they knew his name, no Government agency did, adding to the confusion of how they were the only ones to get their memories back. They searched everywhere, watched every video, tried calling his old number(which they found no longer existed), but nothing worked.
Ned even made the Spidey tracker to try and follow him, but proved useless when they lived in a different state.
Whenever they returned to New York for school breaks, they tried their hardest to find him, but no matter what they did they could.
So, when they finally moved back from university their mission to find Peter Parker was scaled up to a hundred.
