Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Chapter Text

Wemmbu wasn’t sure he knew these people surrounding him.

Wemmbu recognized them, but he couldn’t quite put his finger on it, and that’s what annoyed him.

He looked up from his lying, ignoring the two figures, the blue fabric rubbing against his neck as he scanned the room.

The room wasn’t that big; the bed he was lying on was in the centre of the room, with two chairs resting in each corner. Next to him, vitals were blinking at his heartbeat. A mirror tucked just off to the side, but he couldn’t see his reflection.

“Wemmbu”

He shifted his gaze at the colourful bird. When he was talking, Wemmbu wasn’t really paying attention; his mind was all foggy since he woke up.

“Wemmbu?” The tone was now questioning.

He lifted his head, eyes caught to his hands, one caught in a sling and the other bandaged, but from what he could tell, he could tell it was pretty banged up.

But what confused him was the arm bandaged was caught in a handcuff securing him to the bed.

“WEMMBU BRO." Wemmbu finally looked up to the unfamiliar bird, feeling tense like a scolded child.

“Finally,” the broad guy from the back muttered. Wemmbu glanced at him, not forgetting the man was there.

Wemmbu finally sat up, his muscles sore like he’d run a marathon, a sudden sharp pain bringing him down.

“You good?" the bird asked, grabbing out a notebook. With the name Macaw on it so that’s the bird's name

“Uh, yeah," he guessed, his voice raspy. After not speaking for a while, how long was I out for? He questioned himself.

“I need to ask you some questions, and you have to answer truthfully."

"Ok," he nodded, attempting to sit up again, the pain sharpening until he gave up, resting his head back down.

The bird looked down at his notebook. “I need to write this down because I forgot too when we talked before. First, why did you become the invisible knight?"

“I don’t know." He was still unsure of the questions.

“What do you mean I don’t know?"

“I quite literally mean I don’t know."

“Well, you basically had everything—riches, fame, and you could do anything. Why become a low-life vigilante?" Macaws tone was quite annoyed.

“You told me to answer truthfully, and I said I don’t know; I can’t remember.”

“God, you're always so difficult," Macaw whined. The broad figure appeared. In front of the bed, he had a black blindfold on he was wearing Armor of sorts and his hair had dreads two tiger ears rested upon his heads

"Wemmbu, bro, don’t be annoying; just answer the questions truthfully." The broad man sounded like he wanted to punch the guy.

“Well, I would if I knew because I don’t know anything about this invisible knight person bull."

"Fragger, let’s just go; we’ll come back later," the bird said, defeated as they exited the room slowly, Fragger giving once last death stare before leaving.

Huh, so the broad guy is called Fragger. Wemmbu noted as he glanced around the room once more, his eyes landing on the mirror from before.

He sat up, ignoring the pain in his side. He glanced back at the handcuff. "Oh, right," he said, tugged at it, managing to snap it despite his injuries. He slowly stood, his leg sore as he limped to the mirror, holding his side with his good hand.

He stared at his reflection; he was paler than before, the strength to stand up probably causing it. He had strangely bright purple hair that had been put up in a messy bun; oddly enough, there were some white streaks in his hair.

He wasn’t quite as broad, but a lot of scars covered his body; he must be a fighter of sorts. He looked to his face; one dark mole lined underneath his eyes. He had two horns that stood tall on his head; they were a dark purple.

He felt his tail wrap around his leg. Wait, I have a... tail? He looked distressed as the tail copied its movements of sorts; his hospital gown rustled as scales fought the confinement of the blue dressing.

The wings finally broke through the gown; the wings were now exposed. Luckily, the wings had only broken to small holes in the gown, so he was safe from having to find new clothes.

His eyes were black with strange purple irises.

He turned from his reflection, seeing a cupboard. He limped over, opening it with the bandaged hand. There was a deep blue tunic, stitched with black detailing, while a matching hood rested with darker blue trousers resting on the cupboard shelf.

But there was a strange tiara that rested on the top of all the clothes. He grabbed it, placing it slowly on his head. It fit perfectly in between the horns, like it was meant to live there.

He gently picked the rest of the clothing up, changing into it slowly. He looked… good; it matched with his pale skin.

I need to leave, a sudden thought caught his mind: the people here didn’t seem friendly, and he didn’t know anything about them or anything in general.

With panic in mind, his hand caught on something—a sword it hadn’t been there before. It gleamed purple, resting by his side; he’d be using it as a makeshift cane to help him get out of here quicker.

Wemmbu limped to the door, opening it slowly. Fragger and the bird weren’t there; they must have had something else to do besides interrogating a poor man.

He finally staggered into the hallway; it was laid with marble floors and many doors lining the hallway. Wemmbu looked to see the door with the word "EXIT" at the end of the endless hallway.

As Wemmbu limped to the end, he spotted a man; it was a bird like the one interrogating him, but this one was yellow and grey, and he wore a black track suit with white details lining the arms and pants.

He also wore sunglasses and a belt with tntcarts lined the bird, which also had a bow in one hand a carving with the name Cockatoo engraved, his wings covered in ash as they twitched slightly.

When Wemmbu was finally done inspecting the man, he approached carefully. The man nodded, stepping to the side to let Wemmbu through.
He nodded back, hiding his limp and injuries as he stepped through the door.

This room Wemmbu was in was bigger than the hallway; people were scattered throughout it, and a front desk had a long line of people waiting. He slightly limped, reaching the glass door.

He opened the door with his elbow; his sword still being used as a cane. Wemmbu looked at the outside world; it had buildings of great and small size. He looked back at the tower, reading the words "HERO TOWER."

He was caught in the beauty of it all, not noticing a broad man from behind.

Before he knew it, he was on the sidewalk being pinned down by what seemed to be Fragger, his sword clattering before disappearing in a flash of purple. Great.

"Ow," the pain in his side flaring, and his good wrist caught in the grasp of Fragger, his other hand caught in his sling resting stupidly against his body.

“I leave for five minutes, and somehow you escape," he muttered, the forming crowd around them applauding as Fragger reached for the weird-looking handcuffs that glowed faintly.

“Go Fragger” they chanted

Panic settled in again as his mind raced. How to escape? His thoughts spiralled, and his tail fluttered in panic, wrapping itself around his leg.

His wings flailed rapidly, trying to go airborne despite injuries.

Before he could think, his claw-like nails turned a light purple from the dark purple; it was a sudden explosion that blasted Wemmbu away from Fragger, his expression confused and shocked.

Wemmbu landed perfectly, seemingly immune to the explosion, unlike Fragger, who was burned badly.

He glanced at his hands, his claws back to a dark purple, then to a new crater into the ground that seemed to last forever, only stopping at bedrock.

Wemmbu looked around the crowd that had formed, backing away in shock and fear, and then to Fragger, who was quickly recovering from the burns.

An alarm started to blare inside the Hero as from what he could tell, Heroes was pouring out from inside.

The hero rushed out, securing the location before attempting to detain Wemmbu. Wemmbu elbowed someone from behind, sending them to the ground wheezing, as two more from each side he summoned his sword, stabbing one of them, pulling the sword back out, and using his leg to kick the hero back.

He used his tail to grab a hero, distracting them enough to headbutt them and knock them in the mouth, knocking out a tooth or two.

The bird that had let him through to the hallway was now in the fight, running at Wemmbu from in front, using his bow to hit him in the stomach, knocking Wemmbu back as he catches his breath.

Soon the fight finally overwhelmed Wemmbu; he had resorted to defines; he decided to fly away even if he hurt his wings more. He stretched his wings as the hero recovered from a brutal attack, leaping into the air and flapping his wings hard so he could get away faster. Wemmbu shot himself up even more till he was a good distance away.

He exhaled deeply, looking down. The hero looked like angry colourful dots. Now he flew away, looking for somewhere to land, finding an abundant warehouse. He landed hard, his clothing taking some damage as he inspected himself.

He rested against the warehouse wall, feeling exhausted after fighting and flying for too long.

He rested his head back, slowly drifting into an undisturbed rest, not wanting to think anymore.

Not aware that a certain voiding would find him.
