Chapter 1: A warehouse???

Chapter Text

She didn’t know what happened, one minute she was fighting voldemort after coming back and she had finally disarmed old voldi-pants then, poof. She didn’t know where she was but it definitely wasn’t Hogwarts. She stumbled and fell rather roughly on cold cement. When she looked up she was surrounded by decrepit apartment buildings. There were a few people around but they quickly walked away, which understandable, she was covered in blood and dust from the debris.

She had a moment to process this before she stood again slower this time. She limped to one of the more collapse-y looking buildings on the street she was on. It was very dilapidated and filled with trash. She limped over to the corner of the room and collapsed against the wall. She quickly passed out after that.

She dreamt about the first day of Hogwarts after the boats took them in. Draco had walked up to her earlier and introduced himself to her, she had followed his lead, then as quickly as he came he was gone. Hermione had asked to sit in her compartment shortly after. Back at the entrance of the great hall she was trying to blend in when Hermione loudly said something right next to her and brought attention to her corner.

Most turned to them and a few lingered on her, then double-taked at her. She pulled at her bangs and twirled her curly hair. Most eventually moved on but some were still looking. Then the godsent she was, McGonagall called us in with a stern look and a warning. We organized ourselves alphabetically. Jasmine locked her hands together to keep from fidgeting in front of all those people.

She then noticed that there was an old man who hadn’t stopped staring at her as if trying to make her confess with his eyes. Jasmine tended to avoid eye contact with adults as it always seemed to end badly. While Jasmine was spaced out the woman had called her up. Her mind seemed to stutter then she straightened herself out and walked across the temporary stage in front of the staff table. She sat heavily wishing that she could sink into the floor with every house and staff member staring right at her.  The ratty hat was placed on her head lightly. “Hmmmmm… Very smart… yes, yes. But OH the cunning, love the ambition… hmmm… brave too, no no that wont do… perhaps, yes that’s it, yes…HUFFLEPUFF!!!”

She startled awake from her dream and immediately winced, her adrenaline had worn off completely, and damn if it didn’t hurt. Her chest ached, she lifted her shirt to check and sure enough there was a lightning print from the center of her ribs to the edges of her sternum and cresting over her chest. They were a strange blackish green color unlike her white scar on her forehead and cheekbone, of the same shape.

She looked around and snatched the elder wand to her. Even if it wasn't her phoenix feather wand it still worked for her. She gathered everything on her person and put it in her moonskin pouch.  Then with a furrow of her brows she shifted into a black tiger, a subspecies of tiger with fused stripes, except she was completely black. She had a purple sheen to her coat, and over the years grew to love winter in this form. While her chest still hurt it was significantly dulled in her animagus form.  She stumbled for a moment then steadied herself, it also helped that she was on all fours and had claws to climb with. She found a rafter and some rubble then proceeded to climb up, then hoist herself up onto the beam, to sleep comfortably.

A short while later she heard a noise that startled her and nearly knocked her over, far beneath her was a man, he was wearing an odd outfit, he almost looked like an… Archer?  Like not even a modern one, a real life old school robin hood, also what was up with barging in here??? Jasmine was there first??? To her animal part of her brain scaring away the strange archer was the most logical course of action, so she prowled down from the rafters back onto the ruble and gently onto the floor all 600 pounds of her landed silently behind him.

She shifted forward a step, widened her stance and bellowed a resounding roar that echoed to the streets. The archer flinched just slightly then slowly reached for something at his waist when she inched forward growling at his stubborn refusal to stay in the warehouse when there were plenty of others. He pulled a blower for tranquilizer darts, Jasmine flipped out she pounced before he could get any further, she wasn’t really trying to hurt him so she crushed the blower in her jaws and then took the bow and trotted onto the rubble then to the rafters and perched there. She dropped the bow onto the rafter and lay down, smugly eyeing the former archer.  The man slowly stood, still looking at her, he sighed heavily and reached for his ear piece and the other to pinch the bridge of his nose. “John we have an issue, can you call animal control or something.”

Her tail flicked in indignation, animal control, the absolute nerve of him.
