Work Text:

Yolanda wasn’t embarrassed about being an omega, but she doesn’t like speaking about it either.

For as long as the surgeon can remember, she has always found ways to overcome some traits and urges an omega would’ve suspected to have.

And as shameful as it was to admit it, Yolanda always avoided and resisted her instincts, even if it mentally hurts her. Now it’s just background noise, easy to ignore but there will be some days where it's harder than others and undoubtedly it’s one of those days.

Today has been a harsher shift, surgeries back to back leaving little to no rest for the surgeon and barely any time to catch a break but she’d worked here for so long she's adapted. However for some reason she couldn't help but long for something, something unfamiliar.

By the time Yolanda had left the hospital, Baran and Trinity were already at home, probably curled up together on the sofa and enjoying the warmth of each other but that wasn’t a shock as she had a surgery that ran longer than expected. Her hands and feet ached more than usual, as if giving her a subtle warning but she ignored it as it wasn’t unusual after the day she had, but the aching feeling in her chest was unnatural.

Her muscles also ached due to the long hours she had been standing, not having the effort to change out her scrubs as she made her way to the living room where she suspected her girlfriends were. Kicking off her shoes in a lazy manner before entering, dragging her feet behind her.

Baran and Trinity were sitting on the sofa together, Baran's legs prompted up against the coffee table while the tv played on a low volume. Both women not paying attention as they were engaged in conversation while a blanket the two women were sharing was covering their bodies.

Trinity was the first to notice the surgeon, probably due to her loud steps but mostly because of the scent she was giving off, not like her usual scent.

“Are you not getting changed?” Trinity’s voice came soft and almost concerned but it wasn’t unusual for the women to not change out of their work clothes after a long shift, that’s what working in the health care system does to you, you stop caring after a while.

“I only just got back. Give me five minutes” Yolanda replied instantly before moving to sit down in the space next to the attending.

Baran turned slightly to look at the surgeon who was now sinking back into the sofa, hands resting on her thighs with her head tilted back. Focus entirely on the tv screen however her legs had a small jitter, something you’d notice if you looked long enough.

Staying focused on the younger woman she slowly opened her arms, inviting Yolanda to come closer if she wanted.

And the surgeon, if it was any other day, would have declined and argued to have a shower and get changed first, arguing that she smells of sterile and antibiotics, needing to clean herself. However she instantly moved closer.

Yolanda ain’t usually the cuddly type either, but she can’t resist the open arms Baran offers her when she arrives back home after a long shift at the PTMC. Yolanda will look around before reluctantly settling onto the attending thighs, her slender fingers curling into Baran's sweater while trying to remain neutral but the faint blush in her cheeks are a giveaway.

Yolanda's head nested onto the croon of Baran's shoulder while her gaze fixed on the screen in front of them. Not really paying attention to what they were watching as she was solely focused on the woman she was resting on.

Her mind felt foggy and too full, Baran was the perfect remedy to fix it.

The longer they sat together, the more Yolanda melted into the alpha's touch. Soon becoming tired and almost floaty, a strange feeling rushing through her veins she didn’t have the energy to fight Against and as a result the soft noise of her purring began, the thing she’d been so desperately trying to control and maintain.

Yolanda froze, but the vibration, the rumbling noise was still evident.

But Baran was staring at her with a certain expression, one that Yolanda couldn’t quite read. Surprise, certainly. Confusion? Definitely. But something else that made Yolanda's face burn hot.

“Your purring?”

It wasn’t a question, it was more of a statement.

“No I’m not” Yolanda voice came fast, quick and defensive. However no amount of convincing and remarks could deny what actually happened.

Trinity, who had been sat next to Baran on the other side, couldn't help but take in Yolanda’s whole appearance. When they hooked up keeping it ‘casual’ she remembered all the times Yolanda would shy away and close herself off : becoming avoidant. But now? She sees none of that.

No longer the arrogant facade she puts on display, no. Just a stubborn woman who refuses the care and attention from her lovers that she so desperately seeks.

“You don’t have to be embarrassed.”

Yolanda looked towards the women, eyes evident of a snarky tone before she pressed her lips together and sunk deeper into Baran arms.

They didn’t speak for the next few minutes, but the silence was comfortable.

The room now full of the noise of a composed, calmed omega. Almost drowning out the noise of the show the three women were watching which earned a small smile from trinity.

There's no thoughts. Just that weird fuzzy feeling that she can't quite place but feels safe with.

And undoubtedly It’s impossibly comforting, Baran's and trinity scent mixing together like a personal bubble puts her mind effortlessly at ease.

Notes:

I love the idea of omega Yolanda, like she’s not the overly mean female character most people out her to be.
