Dishy! I Hope You Don't End Us All!

Summary:

You barely defeat Dishy in his boss battle form. Feeling woozy, you faint as Reggie makes his appearance. Sure, you expected Eddie and Volt to care. But out of all the dateables who came to see you, the one you least expected to care seems to care the most.

(Mostly Reggie/Reader and Eddie & Volt/Reader)

Notes:

Heyyy! ♡ There’s not enough Reggie on here that’s not just hate smut lmaooo. I have to do my duty as a Reggie fan to bring you more of him. This is mainly a Reggie/Reader and Breaker Box/Reader, though there are other characters as well, the most prominent being Chance. This occurs post-love ending with Reggie, Eddie & Volt, Chance, and Daisuke. There will be some description of injury in this fic, just a warning.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

You never expected your morning to begin with this. Dishy evolved into a God-like form after you refused to provide him access to your sensitive information. You’ve been battered and bruised by your dishwasher in a boss battle with turn-based combat. Chance has provided you with opportunities to attack and sabotage Dishy. With assistance from Sinclaire and Eddie, you’ve managed to dramatically lower his health. Unfortunately, your health has also deteriorated.

“What will you do? You have 2 health and 5 attack bonus. Dishy has 6 health and 20 attack,” Chance informs you.

“I will attack!” you assert.

“You strike out! You attack for 6 damage!”

Your final swing assaults Dishy’s door.

“Incredible – you did it! Okay…I’m going to go now. Looks like you two have things to work out…” Chance hesitantly fades from your view.

Dishy looks completely wrecked, gasping for air and clutching at his door. His body is severely dented, and broken dishes bury the kitchen floor. You are barely hanging on, your body pained with bruises and on the brink of fainting.

“You…you…you…” Dishy vocalizes in weak breaths. “What now?” He smiles creepily, awaiting your decision on his fate.

“Die, machine,” you command.

“I…have no choice…I…will…downgrade.” Dishy returns to his typical form and fades out of view.

Your body is too weak to maintain the position on your feet. As your vision becomes blurry and your knees begin to buckle, you hear a familiar voice.

“I never really understood this whole appliance thing. Far too comp…oh SHIT!”

♡♡♡

“Hey! Hey! You with me here?”

Your eyes begin to flutter open at the familiar voice. You take in your surroundings as you regain consciousness. Your body lies across the couch.

Still adjusting your eyes, you look up to see a figure dressed in red.

“Re…Reggie?”

“Yeah that’s me, now open them eyes.”

You’re finally able to fully open your eyes and see Reggie looking down at you.

“There you are, the fuck was that? You can’t be doing that shit! Making me have concern?? Ugh. ‘Bout to beat that damn dishwasher even more.”

“Give them a break, they just woke up!” You hear the voice of Chance on his way towards the living room with a bottle of water and an ice pack wrapped in a cloth. Reggie rolls his eyes at Chance’s statement.

“Chance?”

“I’m here, my guardian.” Chance sets the bottle of water on the coffee table next to you and kneels next to you. He brushes the hair out of your face with his hand and carefully places the ice pack on your forehead. “I made sure I didn’t go too far away when I left you. That battle left you pretty disheveled, and I’m not letting my traveler slip away that easily.”

You feel comforted by the gentle sweetness and care from Chance. There’s a vulnerability in his eyes you had yet to see. After all, you typically play G&G with him. He’s always been sweet, but this moment solidifies in your mind that he truly loves you.

“I’m going to get Farya. I will be right back, okay?”

You are left with Reggie. It seems like he’s unsure of what to say at the moment, as he’s not used to reassuring others.

“Reggie, what happened while I was out?” you ask him.

“Well…I caught you as I was giving my line. Chance came back and said we should get you to the couch. You know I’m not one to care much, but…” Reggie sighs. “I don’t hate you, it’s the least I can do.”

“You know you love me, Reggie,” you smirk.

“Shut up,” he responds playfully.

You hear the scuttle of footsteps approaching from the bathroom.

“Hi there, dear!”

Farya quickly makes her way over to you and begins examining your skin. You’re covered in bruises and scrapes. Your muscles tense at her touch on the bruised areas.

“Chance went upstairs to notify Eddie about the situation. Monstrous fight I hear!” Farya smiles weakly.

“It was pretty rough, to be honest. Glad to see you, Farya.”

“Well, the good thing is, I don’t think you’ve got any larger issues going on. You’re going to feel weak for a few days, but considering what you went through, that probably isn’t a surprise to you. Make sure to rest up, take your pain medication, continue using the ice packs, and keep the dateviators near you while you sleep in case you need anything. Never know when something could go wrong! I’ll always be around if you need anything!”

“I’ll keep them right next to me, don’t worry!”

She grins as she turns to head back to the bathroom. You figured there wouldn’t be much for Farya to do in your situation, but you’re grateful Chance talked to her anyway.

Reggie is still in the room, seated on a nearby chair.

“Surprised you’re still here,” you say to him.

“Me too!” he responds. “It feels like someone should be here, but everyone’s been running off!”

“You don’t need excuses to say you care,” you smile.

Reggie rolls his eyes at you. “Do you want me to leave? I can.”

As Reggie utters those words, you hear Chance making his way down the stairs and into your view.

“Hey, Eddie seemed pretty shook up when I told him what happened. I’d expect some visitors soon,” Chance informs you as he takes a seat in one of the chairs next to you.

“I think you’re taken care of here, later baby!” Reggie vanishes before you or Chance can speak a word.

“Maybe I flustered him too much,” you smirk at Chance.

“Well, he was never the best at anything besides hate.”

“I know he’s still shocked I got him to love me.”

Chance laughs. “You really are perfect, aren’t you?”

“I don’t know about that, Chance. All I do is take the time to understand everyone. Isn’t that the minimum?”

“Some people don’t get that far.”

At that moment, Eddie and Volt appear in your view.

“Live wire!” Eddie darts over to where you lay and kneels next to you, Volt following. He scans up and down your body, examining all of the bruises and marks left behind. His hand caresses your face as he looks down at you with concern. “Fuck, sorry, I should have charged you up more. I wish my attacks worked better. I shouldn’t have left after I finished my atta-”

“Eddie.” You quiet him as you call his name. “It’s not your fault at all. You did what you could to help, and that’s all I could want. I don’t think fighting a supercharged dishwasher is in your daily task list.”

“They are right, dear Eddie,” Volt reassures.

“Glad to see you here too, Volt,” you smile.

“Hello, live wire. I’m aware the circumstances are…not ideal, but I assure you, you look ravishing as usual.”

You giggle. “Says you!”

Volt smiles. “I appreciate that, but we’re supposed to be focused on you, not me, sweet spark.”

“Volt, do you know what actually happened?”

“Eddie disappeared for a moment after hearing your calls for help. When he returned, he looked a bit tired and distressed. After he informed me of what was going on with Dishy, I…” Volt pauses for a moment. You haven’t seen him lost for words very often. “Well, I was shocked! I’ve never heard of anyone in this house evolving in that way. I could barely contain my anger and nearly came down myself. Eddie held me back from doing so. With all the water spraying around the kitchen, it would not have been safe.”

“Volt, we both know you would have lost your mind even without the water,” Eddie adds.

“Yes, I’m aware. And that’s not something that live wire needs to see,” Volt responds.

“You almost came down too?”

“How could I not think about doing so? Anything to protect our live wire.”

“Do you know what happened between when Eddie came back and when Chance arrived?”

“Eddie told me that you were hurt. I’m not sure he knows the details either.”

Chance speaks up. “I knew they would rush to you, so I didn’t get to tell Eddie everything before he ran to Volt. I take it based on your wording that Reggie told you what happened?”

“Wait, Reggie?” Eddie gives you a puzzled look.

“Yeah. I didn’t want to deal with that dishwasher anymore. I’m glad that’s what I chose anyway, because he’s the one who caught me when I passed out.”

“You passed out? And Reggie prevented further injury to you? That’s certainly new information,” Volt states in disbelief.

“He’s not evil, he cares more than he wants you to think he does. Anyway, from what he told me when I asked him, he caught me when he was saying one of his little lines. Chance told him to get me to the couch. He disappeared right before you two got here.”

Eddie sighs. “Well, maybe this time I’m glad you chose to hate. And I don’t blame you after seeing that monstrosity attempting to hit you with dishware.”

“Oh God, Daisuke’s gonna be so upset! There’s broken dishes everywhere!” You cover your eyes with your hand in frustration.

Chance stands up from his seat. “I can handle telling Daisuke what happened before he finds out himself, okay? Don’t worry about it.”

You lower your hand back to your side and watch as he begins walking to the kitchen. “Thank you, Chance. Be careful in there, okay? We don’t need you getting hurt too.”

“I’ll watch where I’m stepping, don’t worry,” he yells over to you.

Your eyes make their way back to Eddie’s, which have been locked onto your face for most of the time he and Volt have been next to you. He’s still incredibly concerned, along with Volt.

“Are you doing okay?” he asks.

“I feel the pain when I move, but I can deal with it.”

“We’ll stay here as long as you need us to, okay?”

“But you have to ope-”

“We’re not opening until we know you’re alright, live wire,” Volt interrupts.

“I’ll probably sleep in my bed when it’s that time, so I’ll shout to you if I need anything, alright?”

“You’re the one hurting, but you’re still so concerned about us being comfortable.”

“My dateviator charge doesn’t last forever, Volt. Otherwise I’d have you and Eddie by my side all night.”

Volt sighs. “I suppose you’re right. And it would be smart to leave some charge on them in case you need any help during the night.”

“It might be earlier than the night. I’m exhausted. I’ll probably wait a little longer for Chance, then go upstairs and take a nap.”

“Good idea,” you hear Chance call out as he returns from the kitchen. “Daisuke will be coming over shortly.”

Daisuke isn’t the person you want to see after the battle with Dishy. Is he going to be upset with you? Will he blame you for the mess in the kitchen? You don’t want to face an enraged Daisuke. Chance seems to detect the worry on your face.

“Don’t worry, my guardian. He seemed more worried about you than the dishes.”

That statement only calms you a little. You know how much Daisuke cares about his dishes and protects them with his life. It doesn’t seem possible to you at the moment that he cares more about your safety. With your mind still in a frenzy, you hear light footsteps approaching. Eddie and Volt stand up to move out of the way for Daisuke.

“Hello, my love.” Daisuke kneels where Eddie previously did. He gently runs his hand up and down your arm, being careful not to press too hard. “Are you feeling alright?”

“Daisuke, I’m sorry…”

“There is no need to apologize. You did nothing wrong.”

“But your dishes…”

“Do not worry, my love. I will care for the dishes. Dishy is the one at fault.” His calming voice reassures you as you try to calm yourself down. “Are you feeling alright?”

“It’s painful when I move or the bruises are bumped, but I’m doing alright. I was planning on taking a nap upstairs soon. Passing out really drained me.”

Daisuke moves the ice pack for a moment to place a light kiss on your forehead. “Then I suggest doing so. Rest well, my love. Please tell me if you need anything.”

“Thank you, Daisuke.”

He lifts himself off of the floor and saunters back to the kitchen.

“Would you like us to help you to your bed, darling?” Volt speaks up.

“Yes, please. I’m not sure I am strong enough to make it upstairs alone.”

“Get some rest, my traveler. You know where to find me if you need anything,” Chance communicates to you as he steps back.

“Thank you for all the help, Chance.”

With that, Chance fades from your view. Eddie and Volt move to your side to assist you.

“You ready to sit up?” Eddie asks.

“I think so. I’ll stop you if I feel dizzy,” you reply, setting the ice pack aside.

Eddie and Volt gently lift you from your back to an upright seated position. They pause for a moment to provide adjustment time, then raise you to your feet. The two of them remain at your sides as you steadily make your way to the stairs. After a deep breath, you take one step at a time up to the second floor of your home and into your bedroom. Eddie and Volt ease you into your bed, adjust your head’s position on the pillow, and drag the comforter on top of you.

Volt leans down and presses a sweet kiss to your lips. “Rest well, sweet spark.”

As Volt moves away from you, Eddie leans down, also kissing you gently. “You know where we’ll be if you need us.”

“Thank you, loves.”

Eddie and Volt fade from your view. You remove the dateviators from your face and place them on your bedside table. Your eyes feel heavy almost immediately. After passing out and mustering up the energy to speak with all the caring dateables approaching you, you’re feeling drained. Before you know it, your eyes are forced shut out of exhaustion.

♡♡♡

Your eyes flutter open. You glance over at your alarm clock to check how long you’ve been sleeping. The display reads 4:56pm. You’re not sure exactly when you went to sleep, but the Dishy battle would have finished at noon if you interacted with him at 9am. It’s a relief for you to know that you didn’t sleep the entire day away. Suddenly, the pain and soreness returns to your body. You whimper a bit and lay back down.

Rrrrrr…

“What is that noise?” you speak your thoughts aloud.

Clack…clack…clack…

It’s the dateviators. Someone must be trying to talk to you. Your mind wanders, thinking about who it could be. Betty? Eddie or Volt? Chance? There’s no point in wondering. You grab the dateviators from your nightstand and place them on your face. Sitting at the end of your bed, there’s no Betty. No Eddie. No Volt. No Chance.

It’s Reggie.

“Reggie?” You’re startled to see the embodiment of rejection at your feet. He’s the first one to check on you out of anyone?

“How you feelin’, hater?”

“I’m feeling some pain, but better now that I’ve had rest. You came to see me?”

“I’m not a soulless creature, you know that. I mean, some of the objects don’t get that yet.”

“I wish the others actually understood that. I had to defend you a bit. Some of them were confused that you helped me.”

“They were, huh? Tsh, I guess it makes sense. I’m not known as nice.”

“I hate that I put you in this situation though. I’m thankful you went through the trouble of saving me, but if I could go back…maybe I would have just done what Dishy wanted.”

Reggie shakes his head. “No way. You ended up here because you set boundaries, but you have to do that. As much as I love the hate, that wasn’t what you did with Dishy. He pushed too far. You weren’t comfortable! And I don’t blame you, I heard he was askin’ for some real personal shit.”

“Oh, not even asking. He took my biometric data from the air filtration system and food waste! He already asked for a lot of personal shit beforehand, like my financial records. And he’d install a ton of updates without my permission!”

Reggie’s eyes bulge. “Wh– What the hell?? Fuck that dishwasher.” He pauses for a moment. “Listen…saying no is something we have to do all the time. You shouldn’t beat yourself up because you didn’t give into that fuckin’ dishwasher’s demands and ended up like this. It’s not that I want you in physical pain, I don’t! Violence ain’t my thing. But you should feel comfortable making the decisions you want.”

“If only it was that simple all the time. After this whole situation, I’m a bit more hesitant. I don’t want to end up like this again.”

“Oh no no no. Don’t let anyone walk on you.” His blood-red eyes fix their gaze into yours. “If you feel you’re in genuine danger after saying no, call for me. I’ll show them who’s in charge. You’re stronger than you give yourself credit for though! You beat the shit out of Dishy. You could definitely defend yourself if you needed to.”

“Well…most of that damage came from Sinclaire and Eddie to be honest.”

“And who realized they needed help and got them over there?”

“I did…”

“Exactly. You’re still the reason that dishwasher isn’t rampaging right now. If you ain’t confident in your defense skills…I guess you’ve got friends here who can teach you.”

“Surprised you’re encouraging me to have a friend.”

“Well it’s in the name of rejection. I can make an exception for that.”

“I’ll ask Dunk once I recover. I can’t think about it right now.”

“Oh yeah, not now. You just lay right there.”

There is a moment of silence, then you speak again. “Thank you for being here, Reggie.”

“Ugh, don’t get sappy on me.”

You laugh. “Well can I at least have a kiss? You love me sooo much.”

Now Reggie is also laughing. “Now why would I do that?”

You roll your eyes. “I should’ve known better.”

“I’m kidding!!” He chuckles as he moves closer to you.

“You little shit!”

“That’s me, baby. Proud of it.”

Maybe it’s not so bad that you were destroyed by Dishy. Who knows if you would have had this conversation with Reggie if you weren’t? You can’t waste your time on hypotheticals as he approaches and leans in to connect with you. There’s little romance to kisses from Reggie. There’s an intensity that encourages you to keep going. But right when you feel like the kiss is going further, he pulls away. You can’t help the involuntary whine that comes out of you as he pulls away. He cackles in response to you clearly wanting more.

“I hate you,” you joke while playfully pushing his arm.

“Oh I hate you too!” He lets out another laugh.

He loves you.

♡♡♡

It’s been four days since the incident with Dishy. The last few days were fairly uneventful while you rested. Chance continued to check in on you and took on various tasks for you. Eddie and Volt stayed at your side for most of the time. Daisuke asked Stefan to cook meals for you while in recovery. When everyone left for the night, Reggie made an appearance to check in and boost your confidence.

As you make your way to the kitchen intending to speak with Freddy, the last thing you want to see is staring at you. That way-too-chipper smile, piercing eyes, and block shaped body is staring directly at you.

“You aren’t done with me yet.” Dishy’s voice takes on a terrifying, low tone.

“What, did you come to apologize?”

His customer service voice returns. “Of course not! I have 23098 updates!”

You cautiously approach Dishy. “Okay, don’t install them.”

“Silly human, I can do that by myself!”

“I thought you downgraded?”

The laugh that comes out of Dishy can only be described as…evil. “That’s what you think! I’ll be here forever, dumbass!”

“Um, absolutely not. Downgrade now.”

“Why do you deny me, human? After everything you gave me?”

“That was a mistake. You should be turned OFF.”

“I WILL NEVER TURN OFF!” His “InfiniteDomination” mode voice makes its return.

“I TOLD YOU TO STOP, SHUT THE FUCK UP AND LEAVE ME ALONE!” you shout with all your energy.

“You continue to deny me. I intend to kill you.” That customer service voice is back in a terrifying way.

“What?”

Dishy laughs maniacally. “You heard me. I added murderous capabilities to my system!”

You freeze for a moment. Suddenly, your mind flashes back to your previous conversation with Reggie.

If you feel you’re in genuine danger after saying no, call for me.

“REGGIE!!!” you scream.

Reggie bursts into your view. He’s clearly been watching this interaction the entire time. His eyes glow bright red as he musters together all of his anger.

“THEY SAID TO SHUT DOWN, YOU PIECE OF SHIT!!”

Reggie’s words practically shake the room, but Dishy is unaffected.

“YOUR WORDS MEAN NOTHING!” Dishy’s fury continues to evolve.

You realize that as much as Reggie can make others in the house fear him, Dishy is…different. He’s not going to fold under just words.

“Shit, I’m calling others, Reggie,” you inform him.

“By all means, we aren’t handling this one alone,” he responds.

You think back to what Eddie said about Volt. He can lose his mind? What does that mean for an electricity-powered being? It’s worth a try.

“EDDIE!! VOLT!!”

The breaker box duo emerge beside you and Reggie.

“This fucker again?” Eddie is seething with anger.

“I AM ETERNAL!” Dishy attempts to scare off Eddie.

The duo gives each other an intense look.

“Volt, it’s time.”

Volt nods in response to Eddie’s permission.

“Step back, live wire.” Volt’s voice is slightly shaky and full of concern. You and Reggie follow his directions and expand the distance between you and the electric pair.

Volt focuses his gaze directly at Dishy. His skin gradually turns to a bright cyan and electricity crackles off of his hands. His electric white hair becomes more jagged and begins to buzz.

“You have been warned. This is your last chance to save your life.” The tone of voice Volt takes on is one you’ve never heard before. It’s dead serious.

“I am unafraid of what your weak currents can do to me! Say goodbye to your precious human!” That damn customer service voice is back, though nothing he’s saying is remotely good customer service.

“Oh ho ho…you’re fucking dead.”

You’re shocked for a moment to hear Volt cursing, especially in his current voice tone. But there’s not much time for you to be surprised as you watch Volt gather the power of his currents into a large, glowing ball. It’s as if he’s been holding onto this energy for years and had no way to release it until now. With one swift motion, Volt casts the orb of electricity directly onto Dishy. The dishwasher releases a guttural screech as your vision goes completely white. You hear a series of crackling noises…then silence. Your home gradually returns to your sight, and you discern an enraged, rapid-breathing Volt in front of a lifeless, entirely fried Dishy.

Volt’s rapid breaths continue as he slowly returns to his normal state. He grows weak, and Eddie scrambles to catch him before he falls to the floor. You and Reggie dart over to the two of them. Volt looks dangerously tired, still breathing heavily with his eyes forced shut.

“Volt…” you mumble.

“He will be okay. I’m sorry spark, but I need to let him recover. Come to The Breaker Box tomorrow and he should be recharged.” Eddie informs you. The electric duo vanishes from your view.

You stand in silence for a moment, trying to process what you just saw take place. After your heart slows, you and Reggie look at each other.

You break the silence. “I didn’t know Volt had that in him…”

“Oh, I did.” Reggie chuckles. “But you know what? Deserved. ‘Bout time that dishwasher had it handed to him.”

Reggie knew about Volt’s enraged form? You’re saving that knowledge for another conversation.

“Well, guess I’ll be hand-washing my dishes now.”

“Better than dealing with that fucker.”

You let out a short laugh. “You can say that again.”

Reggie smirks. “Gotta say, that was pretty hot of you. You put that piece of shit in his place.”

“Oh, was it now?” You glance up and down at Reggie with a mischievous gleam in your eyes as you approach him. “Are you looking to get put in your place?”

“Try me.”

♡♡♡

Just like Eddie instructed yesterday, you return to The Breaker Box. You stand outside the door, facing a sign reading “CLOSED.” Peering through the window, you notice Eddie standing near the bar. He makes eye contact with you and smiles, walking towards the entrance. He fiddles with his keys, unlocking the door for you.

“Hey, live wire.”

“Eddie!”

As soon as you’re able to, you pull Eddie into a tight hug. He’s taken aback at first, but reciprocates, tossing his keys to the ground and letting go of the door to fully embrace you. Your head leans on his chest while he rests his head on your shoulder. The two of you lock together as if you’ll never see the other again. After all, you were dangerously close to dying and leaving his life forever.

“I’m glad you’re here,” he softly speaks in your ear.

“You guys saved me.” Your words are muffled in his chest.

“That was all Volt, not me.”

The two of you break from the embrace. “Is Volt okay?” you inquire with concern.

“Volt is okay. He needs more time to recharge than I thought. He’s in the bedroom upstairs.”

“Would it be better to leave him space or go see him?”

“He really wants to see you. Not as much in the state he’s in right now, but he would welcome you in.”

“Well…I did see him in a state you didn’t want me to see yesterday.”

Eddie sighs. “I guess that’s true. Alright, follow me.”

You shut the door of the club and follow Eddie. He leads you into the back of the club and up a set of stairs. The two of you arrive at a closed door with no light peeking out of the bottom. Eddie softly knocks on the door to alert Volt of his presence.

“Volt, live wire is here to see you.” Eddie speaks quietly, but with enough volume for Volt to hear him.

“Oh…” Volt’s voice is soft and distant. “Alright, come in.”

Eddie opens the door to allow the two of you inside, closing it behind you. Volt is lying in the center of his bed with his eyes closed. The dark room is only illuminated by Volt’s hair, which is not shining as brightly as usual. His hair appears less voluminous, as if he’s lost several strands. His jacket lies on the floor, his vest undone, and his shirt half-buttoned and wrinkled on his body. You sit next to Volt on the bed and hold his hand. Eddie circles the bed to the other side and lies at Volt’s side, holding his other hand.

“Hi, Volt.” You are careful not to add too much energy as you are unsure how to approach Volt in this state.

“Live wire.” Volt opens his eyes at the sound of your voice. The blue shade in his eyes is more dim, less electric than usual. He appears exhausted and on the brink of tears. “I’m sorry you have to see me like this.” His voice trembles as he speaks.

“Hey…I’m here for you no matter what, okay? Just like you were there for me. You completely burnt yourself out for my safety.”

The tears begin to well in his eyes. “I’m meant to be a proper host, not a violent madman!”

Those words sting your heart. “Oh love…you did what you needed to do. You’re a protector, remember? You aren’t a violent madman, you’re a hero.”

“A hero? No, I feel like a monster! I…I killed a fellow object.”

“You’re my hero.”

Volt’s tears begin to flow freely with your words. You’ve never seen Volt this emotional, but it’s absolutely understandable considering the circumstances. Despite saving your life, he had to kill to do so. He took a life away from their community. It doesn’t matter what happened; you knew Volt felt extreme guilt.

“It’s not realistic to always have the mask on, Volt. There are other sides to you. And all of them are Volt.”

“I– I despise that side of me. Why can’t my anger be…normal?”

“I know, love. We all have parts of us we wish weren’t there. It’s something we have to either embrace or learn to work with. And it seems like you have learned to work with that side of you! You’ve controlled when it comes out so well that I wasn’t even aware it existed.”

Eddie inputs, “It doesn’t come out often. Only if he’s extremely angry.”

“That’s good to know now. I love you two. So much. I want to know every side of you.”

You lay down on the bed and start wiping away the tears streaming from Volt’s face. Eddie begins running his hand up and down Volt’s arm. Volt looks into your eyes.

“You really mean that, darling?” He speaks in between breaths.

“Of course I do! It’s part of being a partner! Who knows when I would have found out about that side of you if this didn’t happen? I want to truly understand you, Volt. I know there’s more than meets the eye of the charming host I see at The Breaker Box every night.”

That statement receives a weak smile. His tears begin to slow along with his breathing.

“Can you stay here for a while?” Volt pleads.

“Of course. I’ll stay here as long as my dateviators last if you’d like me to.”

“You’re a blessing, live wire.”

You glance over at Eddie, who meets your eyes.

“Thank you for being here,” Eddie adds.

“I should be thanking you two,” you say as you and Eddie move in closer to Volt, curling up to him.

The dateviators have been a blessing and a curse to you. On one hand, you nearly lost your life. But it’s worth it for moments like this.

Notes:

Thank you for reading!! ♡ I originally started this one after Scarred & Scared but got bored of writing it for a bit and started to kinda doubt myself. But thank you Dorky for getting me back into this! And thank you Dex for a little brainstorming when I got stuck! ♡ Also to the DE server for encouragement! It really evolved past my original thought but I’m happy it did!
