Chapter 1: Princess Returned (Auradon: September)

Chapter Text

Belle looked at the limo as it pulled up. She could not believe they had done this. She had been so worried. They had stolen a limo, drove off to who knows where and didn't bother to say even a single word to anyone for nearly three days. She had half a mind just to ground all of them to make a point. Biting her cheek she waited as the limo stopped, the engine turning off.

Belle felt her breath catch in her throat at the sight of Jay as he stepped from the driver's seat, what had happened while they were out? Were they hurt? She hovered there on the stairs unsure if she should go towards them or turn around and call for a doctor. There was so much... blood.

She watched as the kids piled out, this was a few more kids then she was expecting to come out of the limo. She looked over each of the newcomers offering them all a soft welcoming smile to hide her worry and confusion. No, she couldn't panic, if Jay wasn't panicking then everything must be okay at the very least.

“I'm afraid we weren’t expecting new students just yet, but welcome to Auradon,” Belle greeted, her eyes finally stopping to rest on the red head between the two new boys. She noticed the way Ben’s eyes kept flickering over to her even as he stayed close to Mal, “Would someone like to introduce me to our new friends.”

“Look lady, we ain’t friends. We don’t know ye, and ye don’t know us," Harry said firmly looking at the brown haired woman on the stone stairs before them.

“Your majesty, you idiot, how many times do I have to explain it” Penny rolled her eyes at Harry.

“What? She’s the queen?” Harry looked back at Belle as Gil tilted his head and smiled. How was this the queen? She looked so ordinary. Compared to the Evil Queen, Pin’s mother was just a gentle looking woman in nice but plain clothes.

Belle could only hear the blood rushing in her ears, it couldn’t be... she was imagining it. She wanted Penny back so bad her mind was playing tricks on her. She swayed a little putting a hand on the railing of the stairs. But what if it wasn't her imagination? What if Jay had done it? What if he had truly found her little girl?

“Mom” Ben rushed forward taking her arm, “Are you alright?”

“You’d think she’s seen a ghost” Penny looked up her eyes meeting Belle’s own.

“Oh my god... it is...” Belle looked to Jay, “You found her, you managed to actually do it” she breathed unsteadily as tears rolled down her cheeks.

Jay nodded shortly, his eyes not quite meeting hers, "Yeah, well I told you where she was. Queen Belle, this is Harry son of Captain Hook, Dizzy daughter of Drusilla, Mimzy daughter of Madame Mim, and Gil youngest son of Gaston. Four of the seven that looked after Penny on the Isle, it may be more but that was who I got to meet." A large grey cat meowed loudly, twisting around Carlos' legs demanding to be appreciated, "And Beelzebub, Carlos' pet cat who apparently slipped into the limo." He had given up trying to figure the cat out, if the cat wanted to be in Auradon fine.

“Welcome to you all, of course,” Belle did her best to make her voice steady as she hastily swiped at the tears with the back of her knuckles, “I look forward to getting to know you all. I’m sure Jay, Evie, Carlos and Mal will tell you, you can come to me for any reason. Now, as I said we were not expecting new students just yet so I don’t have rooms ready for you.” Belle looked between all of them trying to contain the need to pull Penny to her side and not let her go. As much as she wanted to she also knew just how embarrassed her daughter would be about it.

“They can stay with me, if I remember right my dorm room is actually like 3 rooms,” Penny said, “I mean unless dad had them repurpose it or some shit.”

Belle blinked at Penny, “No, it's not repurposed but... honey boys in your room at night is not really...” she tried to find the right way to say it without upsetting any of them.

“Proper? Since when do I care about what’s proper and what’s not? I mean I did try and drown a school mate so... little grey area, ” Penny waved her hand back and forth.

“Maybe the boys could stay in Ben’s room and the girls in yours until we can make better accommodations?” Belle suggested.

“We stay together, I don’t be wanting Crocodile’s crew out of me sight,” Harry shook his head.

Mal rolled her eyes, "That is fine we will sleep in separate rooms your majesty."

Jay gave Mal a look not understanding what she was doing, before looking at the Jollyrogers, "Hook one night, see how it goes. Unless you're saying Princess can't keep your witch and little princess safe." He honestly just wanted the talking piece over with. He could feel the blood drying on his skin, sticking his fingers together, "Ben you cool if we crash with you?"

“Yes, of course I... will have the staff send up some PJ’s and food,” Ben nodded in agreement trying not to look at Jay. He still couldn't really shake what his friend had done.

“Oh goodie, girl time” Penny made a face.

“Girl time? Can we get ice cream? Or sweets and look at new magazines?” Dizzy bounced in excitement, this was everything she had read in the worn books and magazines Evie had lent her.

“Maybe...” Evie stopped Dizzy wasn’t looking at her, she was looking at Penny.

“Yeah, I'll see what I can have sent up... I just have to remember how that works” Penny nodded.

“I’ll help with that” Evie assured, when had this happened?

“How far exactly will the girls be” Harry growled looking at Jay.

“You're even prettier than dad said” Gil blurted out.

“Oh... thank you” Belle chewed her lip looking at him uneasily, he didn't seem like Gaston but then again she could be mistaken, “Ben go ahead and take them inside. I’ll have everything taken care of for both of your groups”

Jay looked at Harry feeling his stomach twist uneasily, "You'll survive one night. I'm working on night three," he had no sympathy for the other male, "Ben, I'm jacking your shower."

Mal bit her lip lingering behind as the others went ahead, "I didn't mean for your son to follow me. I just... I can't be what you want. I went home because of that. I'm glad she was there. That Jay brought her back to you." She didn't want to apologize to the Queen, but the woman deserved an explanation at the very least.

“Mal, honey I don’t expect you to be anyone but you. But, you should have come and talked to someone if it felt like too much. We should have seen it yes and that’s on us but we can’t help if you don’t let us know,” Belle looked at her, visually checking to see if she had any injuries, “I have to admit I prefer the purple to the blonde” she gave her a small smile, “We’ll have lunch tomorrow or later this week and go over everything.”

Mal's lips twitched, "I'm still not used to people actually caring about that stuff. But the blonde was Jay's fault," she shook her head trying not to remember anything else about that night, "Before he had a handle on his magic, it was an accident. But I figured if I was on the Isle, I'd get myself feeling like myself again. Thank you for taking, this, in stride," she gestured as they walked trailing behind the others.

Mimzy looped her arm in Penny's, "Be less stabby to crew Pin. I'll get offended if you don't want to spend time with little ole me.”

“I adore spending time with you Mimzy but I’m not sure I trust Harry to behave himself.” Penny muttered as they walked into the building, “But I guess that’s Jay's problem tonight”

“I’m going to go grab us some clothes and Iago if you want him” Carlos looked at Jay.

"Yeah, thanks Pup, come on Beelzebub inside the building," Jay gestured to the large cat whose tail flicked in annoyance before he trotted after Carlos obediently.

Mimzy shrugged, "It is Jay's problem and I know he'll be just fine. We get cleaned up and then, I don't know, we will hang out."

“They’ll be fine, maybe they can teach Ben something,” Penny snickered, “Come on then I’m pretty sure I know the way still.”

Mimzy sighed softly glancing at Evie as Mal trailed behind them, "So... how do you find things here on the Mainland?" She asked tipping her head, "I mean other than the obvious things here, cleaner, less violent, and well kept?"

Carlos headed in, taking the cat with him. He was worried about Jay but this was the best he could do for now. Jay had to prove that he was fine, especially to Harry. Steadying himself he unlocked their room and guided Beelzebub in. Now to get everything they needed.

Jay glanced over his shoulder looking at Gil and Harry as they followed after Ben, "You are going to try not to cause trouble right?" He silently tracked Carlos until he slipped out of sight headed back to their room.

Mal watched Carlos peel off with the massive cat that hated her. She shook her head, he must be grabbing something. Jay wasn't likely to let the boy out of his sight otherwise.

“Haven’t decided yet thief,” Harry shrugged looking around at the cream colored walls and wooden doors with number plaques. Everything here was so organized and clean. Crocodile would probably hate it here.

“Well the rules take a little getting used to. The classes are very different here and there tends to only be one or two of us in the same class. Unless it’s Remedial goodness” Evie explained.

"Remedial goodness?" Mimzy drawled, "Sounds horrific."

"You behave and I won't kick your ass. How bout that?" Jay retorted eyes flickering as his magic twisted in his chest unhappily as he passed by a mirror in the hall and caught sight of the blood splattered over him. He pressed the heel of his hand to his temple as he shoved it deeper down. It wasn't safe yet. He would be fine until it was safe, he had to be.

Mal shook her head at Harry and Jay's interactions. She knew a little of the history between them, but it felt more like unfinished business at this point. The group stopped at a door that Ben pushed open with a thin smile. He looked like he was regretting having to host the males in his room. Mal assumed this was Penny’s room since she knew his room was a little further down.

“It’s so pretty,” Dizzy bounced, looking at the pale pinks and soft whites that coated almost everything in the large room with a sitting area.

“I didn’t really have any say, up until Ben’s coronation I was more a visitor then a person that lived here,” Penny explained with a small grimace. She had almost forgotten how much she hated the decor here.

“I don’t think I ever noticed you have the same feelings as Mal about frilly princess stuff,” Evie said.

Penny looked at Harry choosing to ignore Evie’s comment that she shared anything in common with the powder puff, “This is where we’ll be Harry.”

“Fine, but ye two don’t leave Mimzy’s side,” he crossed his arms trying to be firm even knowing that neither Penny or Mimzy truly listened to him like they listened to Crocodile.

Mimzy smiled, "Don't worry Harry I'll keep them under control," she teased as she rested her hand on the door.

Jay grabbed a handful of Harry's jacket just above his crossed arms, "Come on, you can check on them after we get cleaned up." He pulled Harry along after him as Ben hovered by Penny's door uncertain. Jay did not need the Prince to get into his room and usually Ben didn't care to ask how Jay got into anywhere.

“Penny? Will you five be ok?” Ben worried that the girls wouldn't get along as there seemed to be some friction between them even back on the Isle.

“Yeah, nothing in the mainland is that scary” Penny nodded

“Right, Mal are you ok?” He turned back to look at her as she stood closer to the middle of the hallway still.

"Just another day on the Isle." She shrugged a shoulder, "Are you okay?" She looked him over, slowly moving closer knowing he probably wasn't fine at all.

“I’ll be fine. We can talk tomorrow?” He gave her a small smile.

“Of course,” Mal smiled trying to head into the room only for it to close in her face by the green eyed menace with lavender hair. Her eyes glowed bright green as she glared at the door. “Alright then, I guess I am going to my room then...”

Jay looked over his shoulder at the sound of a door slamming, “That doesn’t look good...” Mal looked pissed off, her hands clenched into fists, her back straight, her jaw clenched as she kept herself from responding in kind. No. It wasn't his problem, she made the choice that day to leave them after they made themselves vulnerable to her. She wasn't his to shield anymore.

“Mimzy,” Evie looked at her sternly, “Mal’s my friend.”

“Dizzy go through that door, it’s the bathroom. I'll be there in a second,” Penny pointed, “You wanted Powder Puff here?” she directed at Evie.

“She’s just having a hard time,” Evie tried to explain.

Mimzy laughed like chirping birds,”A hard time? Mal the Green Eyes? Come on Evie, you can’t be serious...”

“Things are different here, I’m sure you’ll see what I mean once it gets out that Penny is back” Evie crossed her arms.

“Hard time? Being a princess too much for her? I’m sorry, we’ve been in a war for the last few months, I'm so sorry that she can’t handle smiling and saying no comment,” Penny rolled her eyes pitiless for the purple haired fairy, ''I'm not a fan, haven’t really been a fan since she started trying to be more like Audrey and less like the bad ass I met the first time.”

“She didn’t mean to come across like that, please just give her a chance,” Evie begged.

Mimzy made a face, eyes rolling in annoyance, “Fine... but only because Crocodile doesn’t like it when we make intentional trouble with the Core 4,” she grumbled pulling the door open and grabbed Mal’s retreating back, dragging her inside by the jacket collar, “Because your Princess wants you here.”

Mal yelped falling backwards into the room staring up at green sparking with pink. Oh no, the nickname was a real thing? Mimzy was an actual witch.

“I’m not her... never mind, Mal and I will go raid the kitchen, I know the queen said she would but it's more fun if we grab some of it. I’m sure Mrs. Potts won’t mind,” Evie suggested helping Mal to her feet.

“Yeah sure whatever, real food too though” Penny nodded, “I'm going to go help Dizzy”

Ben rolled his eyes up at the fact his door was open, it had been locked. “Please make yourself at home” Ben said as he turned to close the door, Carlos slipped in to the room arms full of clothes.

“At home he says” Harry snorted looking at Gil who flopped down on the couch.

“This is nice, its soft. Softer than your bed Harry,” Gil smiled

Harry flopped down next Gil, “Yer right is soft, bout as soft as Pin’s...”

“Please don’t finish that sentence,” Ben blushed hesitating to close himself in with the two strangers who were lukewarm with Jay and Carlos it seemed, “I don't think I want to know what my sister and you got up to.”

“Pup can you handle them? I... I need to get cleaned up,” Jay was already unzipping his vest as he caught and tossed the last bottle of whiskey at Harry before it fell.

“Oh thank evil,” Harry caught the bottle, a good drink after a battle was always nice, “I can give him something to handle ”

“You can try but you’ll fail” Carlos snorted, “I told Iago where we were, but it’s up to you if you want him here.”

“He ain’t getting a cho-” Iago flew into the room and landed on Carlos’ shoulder, “You look rough kid.” Jay was splattered and smeared with drying blood, his eyes haunted.

“You touch my pup I will hook you myself,” Jay’s eyes erupted in red gold fire, anchors glowing hot as his magic surged at Harry’s sexual threat to his Pup.

Iago looked between them, “I’ll keep an eye on your pup, go shower,” he could smell it, the lingering burned sugar scent, same as the last time his kid had come home coated in blood splatter before vanishing once more.

“Jeeze yer no fun, maybe beastie boy wants to play” Harry smirked at Ben

“Oh...uh, no thank you. I’m in a relationship with Mal,” Ben busied himself looking for sleeping pants for the two pirates.

     “Right, and?” Harry blinked.

“It’s a mainlander thing one person,” Carlos explained

“That sounds boring” Harry sighed opening the bottle, only to get thumped in the shoulder by Gil.

Jay rolled his eyes walking into the bathroom before shucking all his clothes off and set them as best he could in a small pile trying not to dirty anything with the blood. The blood, Jay hurriedly turned the water on as hot as it would go, his hands shaking. Cobras what had he done... he squeezed his eyes shut and plunged himself under the warming spray. He leaned into the shower wall, leaving bloody arm marks on the pristine white tile. Squeezing his eyes shut as flickers of it came back the sounds of steel clashing, the feel of warm blood on his arms, the off white bones torn through skin. The lights flickering around him snapped him out of it. He couldn't do it now, he had other pressing things to worry about then the things the Red had gotten him to do. Crocodile had the Red Mad, hers wouldn't judge him for a slip but Ben? He should have never shown Ben. Ben must be terrified of him, any sane mainlander would be. It didn’t matter those people couldn’t die, he- Jay felt his magic surging up his neck desperate to be released and he shoved it back down, it wasn’t safe, they weren’t out of it yet. He couldn’t do this yet.

“Carlos is... Jay ok? I mean he seems... I don’t know” Ben asked as he gave sweatpants to the two pirates. Jay was usually so calm and collected, but after ‘that’ he seemed to be someone else entirely.

“Yeah, he will be. Just needs to shower, and to let some tension out,” Carlos nodded, he wasn’t sure how Jay was doing he wanted to be in there with him. However, Harry Hook couldn’t be trusted to behave.

“He’ll be fine, Io is fine after she comes down” Harry snorted

“But some time she needs some help” Gil said standing.

“Wait come down? Like drugs or something?” Ben asked, had Jay taken something on the Isle that had caused the outburst? “Wait, where are you going?” He watched as Gil opened the door to the bathroom and slipped inside not seeming to care Jay was inside showering.

“You mind if I sit in here?” Gil asked towards the closed white curtains as he sat down on the closed toilet. Sometimes just being there, to help remind Io that they were there and safe was enough to calm the sometimes lingering rage.

Jay jumped at the voice having not even noticed the door opening over the sounds of metal clanging in his ears, “No, that’s fine Gil,” he looked in the direction of the voice scrubbing at his arms needing them to be clean, “You okay? I know it’s a big change,” talk he could talk, if nothing else it distracted him from the building magic and kept him from thinking about what he had done. He couldn't think about it. He couldn't deal with it yet. He had a job to do, people to watch over, one of his own not even back yet.

“Yeah, I just... what if they don’t want me here? My dad did some bad stuff to Belle and the king” Gil said, “is it true that people here only fuck one person?”

Jay turned the water off with trembling hands and wrung out his long hair. Opening the curtain, he sat on the edge of the tub, hair tossed over his shoulder and down between his thighs, “I thought the same thing when I came here. Up until late summer I was... I thought I would get sent back over nothing. I’m not supposed to steal or fight or any of the things I used to do on the Isle. But I, I went there. To the place my baba is from. I expected them to lock me up and throw away the key, but they... they didn’t. As long as we aren’t our parents they seem pretty cool about us, some more than others.” He ran a hand through his hair and tried to refocus on Gil, sitting right there and needing him to assure him that everything was going to be okay here. “Most cases yes, mainlanders stick to fucking just one person. But I fuck three other people generally all at the same time. We just don’t talk about it, keep it to ourselves, to protect the mainland from us and what we need.”

“So, they aren’t going to make me like prove I'm not him? Cause I don't want people to think I'm like him” Gil nodded.

“Then I’ll make sure they don’t think that,” Jay pushed himself to standing and grabbed a towel, wrapping it around his hips before walking to Gil, “You helped me feed my boys, stood up for your mom, try your best to stay out of fights,” he set a shaking hand on Gil’s shoulder, “You are as far from him as you can get. What is it that Crocodile always calls you? I don’t really remember but it always sounded sweet, even for her.”

“Soft heart, she called Pin and me her soft hearts.” Gil smiled whistfully, “We’re gonna bring her over soon right?”

“As soon as we can. I know a few people holding the gold, we’ll get the rest of your crew off the Isle, I promise. And you know I always stand by my word,” Jay gave him a half smile, “Come on, before Harry tries talking up the Prince.” he stepped back and pulled his gloves and bracers back on before holding the rest of his dirty clothes, releasing just enough magic to clear up the tiny drops of blood left from his clothes. He had to keep it clean, spotless.

“I know you keep your word so does Harry, even if he forgets sometimes” Gil followed him out.

“Hey I brought those sleep pants Z bought you,” Carlos held up the soft red lounge pants.

“Gilly, come taste this mainlander stuff,” Harry said, holding out a sandwich that had arrived while Jay was washing up. His eyes dragged over Jay’s exposed damp skin, his bones hidden behind toned muscles. He forced his gaze away from the thief glad that he at least looked healthy.

“Thanks Pup,” he smiled slightly as he swapped out clothes with Carlos and pulled the pants on before he carefully folded the towel back up and set it on the counter just inside the bathroom. He quickly twisted his hair up and tied it on itself, “Okay shirt? Cause the other one... well I don’t want to put that back on until I wash it. Not that I mind shirtless really,” that was a lie he hated the looks Harry used to give him, the ones full of useless sympathy for the scars. That and Ben had only glimpsed them before and he had traumatized the mainlander enough already today.

“We really need to put away clothes, I grabbed this for you,” Carlos held up one of Aziz’s lightweight flowy shirts. It was in one of Jay’s colors, goldenrod yellow, so he hadn't even thought to double check before grabbing it.

Jay made a face at it but took it anyway, “Better than nothing. But not a word to Princy, I’ll never fucking hear the end of it.” he tugged the shirt on and shifted his shoulders trying to get comfortable in the material with its short sleeves and the way it hung loose around his chest.

Iago landed on his kid’s shoulder, “You going to be okay?”

“Not really much of an option, I’ve got Pirates to babysit. Dude and Beezlebub getting along okay?”

“Cat asserted his dominance and the mutt rolled over, actually rolled over. I wouldn’t worry,” Iago assured as Jay’s fingers rubbed against his belly.

“I think Beezlebub might eat Dude,” Carlos chuckled dryly.

“So, what exactly are we doing with this... whatever it is,” Harry asked licking his fingers clean.

“Well mostly I think eating and sleeping, if you have any questions I am more than happy to answer” Ben said

“Oh really?” Harry smirked, “Yer fucking the fairy so, tell me the bottom match the top?”

“Harry, I don't think we’re supposed to ask stuff like that,” Gil said around a full mouth.

“Questions about Auradon,” Ben blushed tomato red.

“He blushes just like our Pin did when we asked if she’d knocked boots with the thief,” Harry laughed.

“He ain’t fucking Mal, so he wouldn’t know anyway,” Jay rolled his eyes, “Mainlanders do that whole kissing, cuddling, talking thing mostly. You know that shit you don’t like unless you're drinking.” he ribbed at the pirate. He was hoping Princess had the easier job, Mimzy and Dizzy weren’t bad, well as long as Mimzy didn’t want to make an art project.

“Are you doing ok? If you don’t want to be in there with them I’ll understand,” Evie looked at Mal as they carried a little cooler of ice cream up from the kitchen after Mrs. Potts shoo'd them saying that she was going to bring sandwiches up shortly.

Mal shrugged, “I don’t know. I can tell you Penny hates me. Drank all the bullshit Crocodile fed her. As stupid as it sounds you were always closer with them than I was. But you haven’t been... Yourself. The outfit change on the Isle... I’m here if you need to talk or... If you need to go to your boys.”

“My mother has that effect, I thought I was over anything she could say or do to me, but...” she shrugged, “I might go see Aziz... actually I think that’s what I am going to do. I’ll leave in the morning. And Penny doesn’t hate you, she doesn’t know you. And well you kind of blew her off before she was popped on to the isle.”

“Just remember to tell Jay, you know he will flip out if you just disappear,” Mal looked at her closely, “You don’t have to be anything your mother tells you to be. You are perfect just the way you are E. I will try to be better this time and look after the female set of pirates to help Jay and C out.”

“I would suggest you stick to Dizzy,” Evie smirked, “Let me worry about the witch. I will tell him before I leave for the train station.”

“What don’t think I can handle her?”

“I think two untrained magic users agitating each other could lead to bad things,” Evie shrugged opening the door.

“Ice cream,” Dizzy squealed from her place on the couch in a set of Penny’s old pink PJ’s.

“Hey I know a little,” Mal made a face but relented as then set the cooler down and pulled out the tubs and bowls.

“Alright you can have a bowl, a little bowl,” Penny nodded as she held the book Dizzy had brought to her after her shower.

“But there looks like there are so many flavors,” Dizzy pouted.

“You can have more tomorrow if you like it,” Evie assured getting an odd look from Penny.

Penny wasn’t sure how she felt about Evie moving in on Dizzy, sure Dizzy had been hers before but, Dizzy was Penny’s now.

“Ok, will you tell me that story now?” Dizzy asked as Mal gave her a bowl of chocolate ice cream, “The one with the picture of the girl in red.”

“Yeah Diz come sit here and you can look at the pictures” Penny nodded flipping through the worn book.

Mimzy perched on the edge of the bed smoothing out her skirt observing the set up. Mal sat beside Evie watching and waiting, seemingly worried. Penny was looking possessive over her little Dizzy, which was ironic really because it took becoming Io's before she realized even what to do with minions. But Io was... more lax, she watched and waited, she let them make mistakes so she could correct them and teach them what she wanted them to do for her.

Mal looked over at Mimzy as she hummed faintly, spinning a long strand of lavender around her finger. The pink sparks flickering through her eyes once again. Auradon was going to have a field day with the new kids, thankfully only one had magic. At least she hoped that was the case since no one really knew who their non villain parent was. It probably didn't help that Mal didn't really know the Jollyroger crew outside of Harry, Io and the very concerning rumors about Koga.

Mimzy sighed, this was boring. She didn't want to hear about a little girl being chased by a wolf, or eat the sweet treats that Evie and Mal had brought. Especially not when she was worrying about her half tiger, but he told her she needed to look after the others. Huffing she stood and headed to the door, maybe looking in on them would settle her mind a bit. Sure she was Crocodile’s second in command or even third, but Crocodile trusted her with things she didn't entrust the boys with.

"The boys are fine. Jay and Carlos are with them," Mal stated bored as her eyes drifted to the slightly older girl.

"I know, but no harm in checking on them." Mimzy bristled at having been stopped by the Core 4 leader.

"Or you can sit and we can talk or whatever so you aren't bored." Mal honestly didn't want to, but Mimzy couldn't be trusted to wander around on her own.

Mimzy huffed but bounced back to the bed, "Fine."

“How did Penny end up with you guys?” Evie asked knowing that they needed to keep Mimzy occupied before she went wandering in search of the boys.

Mimzy glanced at Pin, “Io knew a mainlander had arrived and sent us all on a hunt to find her. Gil found her shoes, and then found her and brought her back to the ship. And she made a deal.”

“Her shoes? She was running around the isle without shoes,” Evie giggled, “What type of deal?” she knew Jay had wanted to bring her into their crew, she could have sworn that Carlos had mentioned Jay talking to her about Io. Rule number 1 was don’t make deals.

Mimzy nodded, “She took someone’s boots. A deal to be on the crew I imagine, I don’t know the specifics. One day she was our prisoner and the next she was on the crew.”

“Everyone is someone’s crew,” Evie nodded.

Mal smirked, “No surviving the Isle without someone else that has your back.”
