Work Text:
“Because I am not fucking singing! You fucking monster!”
The words echo throughout the tour bus. The tension in the air thick enough to cut with a knife. Louis looks up to Lestat from where he’s seated on the bench. Pride swells in his heart for Lestat. To go his entire life looking up to a woman that treated him like shit and only used him for her own personal gain, his mother —who used his body. Louis swallows down the nausea that creeps back up his throat. He is proud of Lestat for standing up to her and calling her what she actually is - a fucking monster.
Gabriella stands speechless, mouth opening and closing like a fish, chest heaving. She flicks her white bobbed hair over her shoulder, her posture sagging as she stumbles towards the door of the tour bus. The polished facade finally crumbling, Louis smirks.
“You will regret this!” Her harsh accented voice screeching from the bus door as she finally makes her exit, having to have the last word. Lestat paces the floor or the tour bus, fiddling with the hem of his sleeve, the confidence that was present as he was cursing Gabriella out soon leaving his body. A furrow appears between his eyebrows. Louis wants to leap from his seat to massage that little patch of skin, to sooth the stress out, but he stays where he is. He knows that look all too well.
Louis clears his sore throat, “Don’t listen to her. She’s just trying to manipulate you, get you to do whatever she wants, the great conversion and all that.”
“But Louis…” He gestures with his hand to the window, his mouth open in an incredulous look. The bus shakes with the hundreds of hands beating on the window, cheering for him, screaming his name. The sound was almost drowned out by the screaming match that just took place but now apparent again with the silence that followed.
Louis tsks and shakes his head. After seeing the way he acted around his fans he knows that Lestat can’t resist pleasing them. He remembers the way Lestat was practically crawling out of the vehicle on Halloween night to sing with the two fans that pulled up next to them. That night felt like so long ago now. Could be, hands touch. He knows he will go through with the concert. “Don’t do it for her though, do it for them,” says Louis. Lestat nods as he calls for Christine, who is waiting upstairs on the second floor of the bus, who probably overheard the entire unfortunate argument.

Louis waits backstage with Alex, who stands awkwardly a distance away, Salamander, and TC while Lestat finishes getting ready. Gabriella is no where to be seen, he expected her to be waiting backstage too, recovered from their earlier verbal clash, but he doesn’t spy her platinum white bob anywhere.
Lestat emerges from the dressing room, wearing a black vest with a deep V-neck, sleeveless to show off his biceps and buttoned at his small waist. His long legs are clad in tight leather pants, hugging the subtle curves of his thighs and hips. His skin glows and shines with the body glitter he seems to have rolled around in. He smiles, face lighting up as he makes his way to Louis, eyes crinkling at the corners. He does a little jog to close the gap to Louis, knocking into him, like he didn’t just see him an hour ago on the bus.
Louis takes a step back, looking him up and down, his own smile radiating on his face, “You look good,” he says. He reaches out to touch the scar on Lestat’s neck, thumb rubbing along the line. The scar much more faded now, he must have fed as he was getting ready. Louis drops his eyes away from Lestat’s glowing gaze, “I’m sorry I brought you into this whole mess…If—if Daniel and Armand — I never should’ve—“ Louis stammers.
“Stop. Stop, Louis.” Lestat shakes his head, dismissing the attempted apology. “It is I. I never should have gone to Daniel in the first place, I was angry and hurt…the fault is my own - I…”
“No, no, I…” he sighs, “Let’s just forget about it,” Louis smiles, a breathless laugh coming out of him, “Can we start over?” Moss green eyes meeting blue-violet ones.
“I would like that,” Lestat whispers.
Christine walks up to the both of them, popping their little private bubble. “Two minute guys! They need you on stage in two minutes!” She announces. Salamander and TC jump and clap while Alex mopes there moodily.
Louis turns back to Lestat, voice low, “Well, monsieur le Rockstar, you heard her. They need you. Your fans need you. Remember what I said: you’re not doing this for her. Do it for them but most importantly do it for yourself.” Lestat bites the edge of his lip, nodding. “You nervous? You’re gonna be great!”
“There’s just something I want to do first…” Lestat trails off.
“Well,” he looks down at his wrist like he’s wearing an invisible watch, “You only got about a minute and a half so whatever it is it better be quick or else—“
Lestat cuts him off, grabbing his face to pull him into a kiss. His lips fusing to Lestat’s, tension melting away from his body as a he wraps his arms around Lestat’s waist. Louis opens his lips letting Lestat’s tongue slide against his. TC and Salamander “Whoop!” in the background. They kiss for what seems like forever until Christine taps Louis on the shoulder, clearing her throat, “I hate to interrupt this little love-fest but they need him on stage in twenty seconds.”
Louis’ face flushes and he hesitantly pulls away from Lestat, squeezing him one last time on the waist, says “Go on…” Lestat laughs and practically skips to join the rest of the band as they are ushered towards the stage to take their places.

The concert is a huge success, thousands of fans screaming and singing along as Lestat croons into the mic. He can’t take his eyes off Lestat, dancing and prancing around on stage, truly in his element. Lestat can’t stop looking back towards the wings of the stage where Louis observes either. He sneaks glances every few seconds and is practically angled directly towards him as he belts out the words to Brutal Love. They’re both crying by the end of that song but Lestat makes a quick recovery, composing himself, to end the set.
He skips off stage, back towards Louis beaming his bright smile at him. Something about his smile reminds him of what it was like to see the sun, to feel the warmth of it radiating onto his skin over a century ago when he was still human.
Lestat knocks into him again, this time wrapping him into a gentle embrace. Louis can feel his heartbeat stuttering to slow down with Louis’, they’re chest to chest now. “Wanna get out of here?” Louis murmurs. Lestat doesn’t have to be asked twice because he’s gently gripping Louis’ wrist, leading him away from the crowd of groupies that welcome him backstage, hands graze past the both of them, reaching out but the only touch Louis can feel is the one tied around his wrist.
They make their way out of the stage door into the parking lot where the tour bus waits. Lestat pauses, turning back towards Louis. He settles his hands onto Louis waist now, “Lets go home,” he says to Louis, mouth quirking up into a smile. Louis nods and rests his hands on Lestat’s shoulders, thumbs rubbing soothing circles into the hard muscle. “Is this okay?” Asks Lestat, suddenly feeling weightless, the two of them now floating a good foot above the ground. Louis adjusts his grip to wrap his arms around Lestat’s back, letting Lestat take his body weight, hiking his legs up around Lestat’s waist, Lestat moving his hands to grip the back of Louis’ thighs. Body heat radiates between the two of them as they’re glued to each other.
“Of course it is. Take us home,” he says.
They float higher up into the air, Louis’ face tucked into the crook of Lestat’s neck, holding on to him like a baby koala. Louis could fly himself, not mentioning to Lestat that he now possesses the cloud gift too. But he enjoys the way that Lestat holds him as he flies him back to his house in the city.

Lestat lands them safely onto the front porch of his Montreal townhouse, Louis extricates himself from Lestat. “What are you doing? Anyone could’ve seen…” Louis chuckles and smacks Lestat playfully on the chest.
“Let them see, mon cher. Were you just worried people would see the great vampire Louis du Lac climbing me like a tree?” Lestat teases, accent thickening sarcastically. Louis shakes his head as he backs Lestat up against the door pressing a soft kiss to his lips. Lestat reaches behind him, blindly grabbing for the door handle.
They stumble into the townhome as Lestat successfully opens the door behind his back, lips still pressed against each other. “Jesus, Lestat…why don’t you lock your door?” Louis murmurs in between kisses, lips smacking.
Lestat shrugs, “Ehh…mmhm - because I am a vampire, duh-” he breaks away from Louis, pulling back, his face flushed and lips red and swollen from kissing, “I am my own protection. Nothing gets past me.”
“You’re incorrigible,” says Louis, before he smashes their lips together again, pushing Lestat backward into the threshold of the house. They both toe out of their shoes, well, Louis attempts to. Louis grunts in frustration pausing to bend to untie his own shoes. Stubborn Converse high tops. They resume kissing, devouring each other, drinking each other in like men lost in the dessert drinking water for the first time in days, more like years. Seventy-seven to be exact. Lestat works on the buttons on Louis’ shirt, being careful not to damage it as Louis grazes his fingers down Lestat’s chest to his abs, finding the buttons on his vest, popping them out of their holes. “This vest is so ridiculous,” he mutter against his lips, poking fun at the ridiculous deep cut of the neckline, “But you did look good in it, not gon’ lie.” He lightly laughs through his nose, it scrunches up cutely. “You look good in anything you wear.” Buttons on the vest finally undone, he pushes it off Lestat’s shoulders letting it fall to the floor.
Lestat finishes with the buttons on Louis’ top simultaneously, letting that fall to the floor as well, not caring about wrinkles. They’re glued to each other again, skin to skin now. Louis’ heart thumps. Feeling his body, feeling his muscles jump and twitch under Louis’ hands for the first time in seventy-seven years.
He walks Lestat backwards towards the guest room. Two pairs of pants lost somewhere along the way, discarded on the shiny hardwood floor of the hallway. Louis cursed as he tried to get the tight leather down Lestat’s legs, Lestat giggled the entire time. And no underwear, of course.
Finally in the guest room, they make their way to the bed. Lestat seated on the edge as Louis straddles him, knees on either side of Lestat’s thighs. “Mmhm - impeccable decorating in this room by the way,” he laughs, “Wherever did you acquire the painting, monsieur?” Louis jokes.
“Hmm, a - how do you say - finance bro with incredible taste picked it out for me some time ago,” Lestat teases. They kiss again, Louis smiles into it, letting his arms rest on Lestat’s shoulders.
Their kisses are lazy and unhurried. But suddenly Lestat goes quiet, lips becoming stiff and mechanical. Lestat pulls away, looking off to the side, his cheeks are red. Embarrassment creeping into his expression. “Hey, ‘Stat, look at me.” He hooks a finger under his chin, urging him to turn his neck to try and meet his eyes. “What’s the matter?” The look on Lestat’s face is heartbreaking, his eyes rimmed with red, unshed tears. His chin trembles as he tries to compose himself.
“I j-just can’t believe you’re actually here with me now, Louis.” Louis’ heart clenches in his chest. He continues, “I don’t know how you can still look at me o-or touch me, Louis. I’m sorry for not telling you about G-Gabri— about everything. I’m dirty…I’m damaged. I’d understand if you don’t want me anymore.” He averts his eyes again sheepishly.
“I’m here right now. This is real, Lestat. Are you kidding me right now? How could you say that right now? You don’t need to apologize for any of that.” He babbles, “Of course I still want you. None of that matters right now, baby. Listen to me.” He grabs Lestat’s face so he has no choice but to look at him. Shaking him slightly now to emphasize his words, “You’re not dirty and you’re not damaged. You’ve been through a lot in your life and I—“ he takes a calming breath to steady himself. “How could you think that I wouldn’t want you anymore? I would want you in every lifetime.” Lestat’s face crumples in his hands, tears overflowing and streaming down his cheeks.
“I love you, Lestat. No matter what. You are it for me.” Tears prick the corners of Louis’ eyes now, spilling over his bottom lashes. He folds Lestat into his embrace, tucking the soft crown of his head under his chin. Louis’ neck and collarbones dampened by Lestat’s tears, his body shakes as he sobs against him. Louis rubs up and down his back and pets his hair gently, his own tears staining the top of Lestat’s head, like little pink raindrops. Louis kisses the top of his head, he whispers “I love you,” over and over into his scalp, like he’s willing the words to penetrate through his skull, to his big, beautiful brain.
The sobs quiet down, the shaking stops as Lestat pulls his head away from where he’s nestled into Louis’ shoulder. “I’m sorry I’m such a mess,” he sniffles, wiping the tears and snot away with the back of his hand.
“Shh,” Louis shushes him, “What did I say about apologizing, hmm? I don’t wanna hear that word come out your mouth for the rest of the night.” He says, wiping a stray tear away with the pad of his thumb, bending forward to kiss the remaining tears away. The sweet, bright taste of Lestat’s blood blooming across his tongue. He trails kisses across his face ending up back at his lips, Lestat tasting himself off of Louis’ tongue.
The kiss deepens and heats up again quickly, tongues clashing, lips moving against each other, teeth knocking. They grind against each other, Lestat’s erection perking up again as it bumps against Louis’ still clothed one. Lestat trails his lips down, sucking a mark under Louis’ jaw that will surely be gone by the morning. He trails lower sucking a hard brown nipple into his mouth. Louis shudders, sharp fingernails massaging into the back of Lestat’s head.
Louis gasps as Lestat switches to the other nipple, sucking and laving his tongue over it. “Do you want to…?”
“Yes,” Lestat practically whines against Louis’ chest.
“Need you, ‘Stat. Now.” Louis begs, his words slurring.
Louis swings his body off of Lestat to flop down onto the mattress, fluffing the pillow up behind his head. He spreads his legs in invitation, “C’mere,” he says making grabbing hands at Lestat. Lestat obeys, sprawling out on top of Louis,
“Y-you’re sure?” Lestat croaks timidly.
“Of course I’m sure,” he smirks and glances down at their crotches grinding against each other, he wiggles his hips for emphasis. “I’ve been dreaming of this moment for seventy-seven years. The important thing is: is are you sure?” Lestat nods, his eye contact steady and intense,
“I’ve also been dreaming of this moment too. Yes.” says Lestat.
Lestat hooks his fingers under the waistband of Louis’ underwear, yanking it down to his ankles to fling off the bed. Louis giggles endearingly. He resumes his position and lays flush against Louis, now both completely naked. They resume grinding, the friction heating up between them. Louis grabs Lestat’s wrist bringing his hand up to his own mouth flipping it palm up. He spits a blob of saliva into Lestat’s hand, Lestat’s gaze full of wonder and disbelief. He brings his now wet palm back between them, using the spit as lubricant, easing the friction against their cocks. Little grunts and whines escape both of their throats as the pleasure and movement increases.
“Putain - wait wait,” Lestat jumps off of him and is out of the room before Louis can even blink. He props himself up on his elbows, concerned at the sudden exit. Before he knows it Lestat is returning to the room, a tube of lubricant clutched in his hand. Lestat lays back down between Louis’ open legs, trailing wet kisses down his neck, chest, and abdomen. He noses his groin, where his inner thigh connects to his crotch. He sniffs Louis’ natural sent like he wants to consume him
“H-how do you want me?” Lestat asks, looking up at Louis through his lashes.
“In me. Right now. Please…” Louis moans.
The click of the top of the tube echoes in the guest room. Lestat squeezes a fair amount onto his fingers, rubbing them together to warm the lube. He rubs lube onto Louis’ hole, admiring how it winks at him before gently pushing his index finger inside. He rubs and massages gently inside Louis’ hole. Louis whimpers, carding his fingers through Lestat’s messy blond waves in encouragement. Lestat works another finger in, crooking them at that special angle, thrusting them in and out now. “So tight, Louis,” he whispers in amazement.
He continues fucking him on his fingers, working a third one in. He bends his head forward to lap his tongue at the stretched out rim. Louis whines and grunts above him, his toes curling from where his feet are planted on either side of Lestat. Lestat lightly rubs his other hand on the head of Louis’ cock which almost sends Louis over the edge. Louis flings his hand out to curl around Lestat’s wrist pushing him away. “Enough, get back up here.” Lestat slots back between Louis’ legs, he uses the rest of the lube on his hand to slick up his own cock. He rubs the spongy but firm head against Louis’ hole, catching on the loose rim. “Ok, put it in please, baby.” Lestat eases his cock into Louis, huffing out breaths, the tightness wrapping around him. Louis is silky, soft, and wet. Perfection.
Louis hitches his thighs up around Lestat’s hips, wrapping his legs around him and hooking his heels into the meat of Lestat’s ass. Lestat’s forearms frame Louis’ head. Blond strands of hair tickle Louis’ nose. Neither move for a moment, like time stopped. Maybe it did. Tears are silently flowing down Lestat’s cheeks for the second time tonight, Louis wipes them away with the pad of his thumb. He brings his thumb back to his mouth, sucking it into his mouth, hollowing his cheeks obscenely. Lestat rolls his eyes and sniffles, “You are - merde - insatiable,” He grunts.
Lestat begins to thrust, slow but deep. Each thrust inches Louis up the mattress. He holds back slightly, he moves like he is savoring Louis and the moment, he wants this to last. The savoring doesn’t last long because Louis grows impatient, he growls low in the back of his throat, like a wild animal, moving his hips down to meet Lestat’s thrusts.
Louis places a hand on Lestat’s chest stopping him mid thrust to flip Lestat over onto his back. Lestat hits the bed with a soft grunt, golden hair fanning out around his head. Louis sits up on Lestat’s lap, knees on either side of his waist. Louis traces a thumb on Lestat’s lips, hooking it inside of his mouth, Lestat sucks and his fangs drop, grazing a sharp edge onto the flesh of Louis’ thumb. “I love you so much,” says Louis, the words tugging on Lestat’s heartstrings. He’ll never get used to his Louis’ saying it. He’ll tell him about his vision of Paul coming to him. He’ll tell him everything…
Louis reaches behind to grasp Lestat’s thick cock, raising himself up on his knees to sink down on to it. He hisses, it stings a little with the new angle but the pain flares back into pleasure as he fully seats himself on the appendage. “So-o good, mon cher, you’re so perfect,” Lestat rasps out from beneath him. Louis raises his hips up again and then down, riding him with precision, cock brushing against the bundle of nerves deep inside of him. He places his hands on Lestat’s chest for leverage. Lestat’s hands are on Louis’ hips guiding him down onto his cock with each bounce.
Louis’ riding becomes more erratic, Lestat now thrusting up roughly into Louis. “‘M close - hah nnn - fuck,” cries Louis. Without breaking eye contact, Lestat wraps a hand around Louis’ cock, jerking him, rubbing his thumb into the slit spreading his pink tinged pre-cum. The pace of his strokes quicken as he continues to thrust up, Louis’ hole clenches and twitches around him as he cums. He makes a mess on Lestat’s fist, cum dripping down his hand. Louis pants as his bouncing slows down to a gentle grind. His hips move fluidly as he grinds on the cock still stuffed inside of him. Lestat whimpers,
“I’m gonna — f-fuuuuckk, Louis.” His vision whites out. He fucks up into Louis as he finally cums, painting Louis’ inner walls with his spend. Cock twitching with aftershocks from his orgasm, his vision eventually comes back to him, head falling back onto the pillow, panting out exerted breaths. Louis sags forward, body lax as he plants a messy kiss onto Lestat’s mouth. Lestat slips out of Louis as he grows soft, Louis unseats himself from Lestat reluctantly but flops down to lay next to him on the mattress, resting his head on his chest, legs tangled together. They lay there in silence, heartbeats slowing down in unison; going from a hard sprint, to a gentle jog, to a lazy walk. Louis rubs his thumb lovingly on Lestat’s ribs right over his scars.
~-.-.-.-~
Lestat breaks the silence first. “To answer your question from the bar…yes.”
“Hmm. What?” Louis raises an eyebrow.
“When you asked me if she ever did anything — from before…yes.” He swallows nervously.
Louis props himself up on his elbow eyes searching his vulnerable face. Louis’ can feel his heart shattering. When Lestat told him about Gabriella - his initial reaction was untoward. Lestat having a panic attack in the street, Louis apologizing for his behavior. Their talk at the bar - Louis trying to understand where Lestat was coming from with his complicated feelings for his mother, his first fledgling. His heart broke for Lestat, imagining Lestat going through that as a human. The implication now that she did behave inappropriately even before she was made into a vampire. The image of Lestat as a child —he can’t even bring himself to finish that thought. Anger flashes across Louis’ face. “I swear to God, Lestat I will—“
“Please don’t Louis. For me. I just want to forget about it and move on. I don’t want her in my life anymore but please don’t do whatever you were thinking about doing…for me. I need that.” Lestat pleads. Louis nods, agreeing not to interfere in their complicated relationship. Louis wants to wring her neck, he wants to rip that white bob off her scalp…but he would be doing none of that.
He lays back down on Lestat’s chest, wrapping his arm around his chest possessively like a snake trying to devour it’s prey. He closes his eyes and settles into the warmth of Lestat’s body, drowsiness taking over. He swallows dryly, clearing his throat. He’s thirsty, he hasn’t fed yet tonight, he remembers.
“You got any blood in the fridge still?” asks Louis.
“Hmm,” Lestat hums, exhausted as well, “Yeah, I could eat,” his chuckle rumbling Louis’ cheek from where it rests against his chest. “Yes, there’s still some left from the other night. Will you get me some too, cher?”
Louis rolls to the edge of the bed, unsticking his skin from where his sweat had dried with Lestat’s. He gets up to throw on a silk robe hanging from the bedroom door. He walks back to the bed to kiss all over Lestat’s face, his nose scrunching up cutely. “Don’t go anywhere, baby. I’ll be right back.”
“Okay,” Lestat yawns.
Louis pads barefoot out of the bedroom, down the hall and into the living room. He crosses into the kitchen, humming to himself contentedly as he prepares their blood. The microwave dings as the blood finishes heating up. He splits the bag of AB+ between two coffee mugs. He laughs to himself, why would Lestat have coffee mugs? He doesn’t even drink coffee…He pivots and starts making his way back to the bedroom. He snickers as he kicks Lestat’s leather pants out of the way in the hallway, evidence of their hurried passion from earlier.
Suddenly, he hears glass shattering followed by the unmistakable sound of Lestat’s ragged screams. Louis drops the mugs, ceramic shattering and warm blood splashing his feet. He races to the bedroom, heart pounding into his throat, stomach dropping to his toes. Fear and nausea overtake him as cold sweat breaks out over his skin.
Louis stops in the doorway as he enters the guest room. The window is completely destroyed, glass glitters all over the floor, the curtains blow gently in the breeze. Louis rushes to the window, uncaring about the shards of broken glass everywhere. He cranes his neck out the window, yells “LESTAT!?” Blood rushes in his ears. No answer. The sky is pitch black and eerily quiet save for a distant siren miles away. He yells again for Lestat but to no avail. Tears roll down Louis face uncontrollably as he start to panic and pace around the room, shredding the soles off his feet up on the glass.
A telepathic voice cuts through the silence:
I am the answer
