“Does anybody want any food, this is your last chance” Reina snarled as she stood up leaving the items of the players, she banned splayed across the ground.
The civilians scared for their lives just cowered behind anything they could find. “Idiots.” Reina thought, their loss, at least she could tell parrot she tried.
The stars twinkled above and cold wind swept through the town causing goosebumps to rise along her arms. She groaned inwardly knowing full well that Parrot’s kingdom didn’t have nearly enough gear for her to restock on armour and Gaps. She started her trek back to the shore and was on the outskirts of the town when a dry laugh sounded from above.
Her gaze whipped up in horror, she knew that voice all to well from her time in Cindercrest. Standing on a tree above her was the person who plagued her thoughts and nightmares. It was Saparata, Leader of Cindercrest.
“ Now what is Parrots little pet doing straying so far from his side. “Doesn’t your so called King not need his emotional support team to convince him he isn’t doomed to lose the war.” Reina was panicking, there was no way she would get out of here not with Shoebilly standing by Saps watching her with slitted (Bombastic side eye) eyes tracking her staring her down with a gaze that belonged to a hunter, and she realised with a jolt that she had become his prey.
“We can either do this the hard way or the easy way, both have the same outcome, but…. Your smart I’m sure you have already figured that out by now, am I right” he drawled obviously enjoying every moment of her terror. She hesitated but loosened her grip on her sword letting it fall to the ground as her armour followed suit. She was then standing in front of him, armourless and fully truly cooked.
“ Aww what a shame, Saps said with obvious false disappointment, as he jumped down from the tree “I was looking forward to the show.”
Shoebilly leaped down and started tying her hands together with ruthless, unforgiving knots that dug into her skin all while Saps watched languidly, obviously trying to look nonchalant. (I think he’s a diva)
“You know you’re a real bitch, Saps mused staring right into her eyes. Reina trying to calm down managed to say, “I could say the same about you.” Unbothered he continued “Though I will say I’m very happy that you didn’t die when you should’ve, because now you’re going to help me win this war.”
Reina didn’t answer as Shoebilly finished restraining her and began dragging her away from the village, away from Parrots Kingdom and safety and back to the place that haunted her.
Along the way she kept pulling against the knots on her arms testing their strength, only earning her rope burns and a few grins from Saps. Eventually Shoebilly got so pissed off (the only emotion he’s shown so far) he knocked her unconscious with his mace, and he must have carried her the rest of the way to their camp.
She recalls hazily the route they took slipping in and out of Blackness as her terror grew with every step. She knew they would try and get information from her; she was one of Parrots closest friends and knew the inner working of his Kingdom. She needed to build up her walls and put on a mask, she wasn’t telling Cindercrest . Even now, maybe the weakest she’s ever been she wouldn’t let them win, no matter what they did
She awoke in a dim and dingy prison cell somewhere in the Cindercrest camp she guessed, Her head hurt like hell and she realised that her arms were shackled to the wall above leaving her with no space to move. Lifting her head up groggily she saw Saps and Billy standing in front of her, Saps grinning maliciously while Billy looked at her with cold contempt.
“Unfortunately I can’t kill you just yet, but there are things I need to know that I’m very sure you know after all, parrot is a bit too trusting.” He said with a grin that looked very punchable. A cold finger suddenly touched her face, making her look up in surprise as it lifted her face closer to his. He whispered in her ear “I’m gonna have to give you back at some point but I’m sure Parrot won’t mind if his pet is a bit…..damaged. She spat in his face causing him to draw away sharply. He flipped her off while leaving and said to Shoebilly loudly enough so that she could hear.
“Do what you must do to get her talking, just don’t kill her okay?” Billy nodded in reply and Saps walked out his Boots echoing along the corridor. When they couldn’t hear him anymore Shoebilly moved to a table and picked up a knife and began to sharpen it with calm practised movements all while looking straight at her. “I’ve heard a lot about you, you know.”
He spoke coldly, controlled “According to one of the soldiers you are quite familiar with torture.” Reina grinned a little at that despite the situation she was in. “Now I have some questions I’m gonna ask you, and you’re going to tell me what I want to know….. got it. After all I would hate to mess up that pretty little face of yours.” The blades point was now as sharp as a thorn and he stopped, and walked over slowly, prolonging the pain that was obviously to follow.
“Where is Parrots army positioned?”
He held the blade one of her arms currently suspended above her. pressing it lightly, but she could tell there was strength, a lot of it hidden behind the touch.
“Quite a smart idea, don’t you think, being able to inflict damage and yet heal it with only the feeling of the agony left behind. He smirked as she shivered. “ I have a lot of regeneration potions with me, so I think it best you just answer the question, isn’t that simple?”
“Now answer”
“Fine, they should be positioned at yo mammas house right now.”
Agony hit her mind and she tried to muffle her scream.
“Look, I’m going to give it to you straight. I have my orders, and I may be many things, but I’m not unloyal so from now on if you don’t tell me what I want, I’ll break a finger each time you give me a stupid reply like that, got it.
I don’t have time for this, or did you forget there’s a war going on”
She could tell he was serious; his cool eyes were now glinting with pure unfiltered malice.
(Ok she was screwed)
The next few hours were memorable at best………… Billy asked her questions; she refused to answer and repercussions followed. By the time she fell unconscious all she could think about was pain, pain( and you guessed it) pain. It consumed her until she fell against the wall limply.
She awoke in a throne room after being thrown at the feet of a throne, a throne where Saps sat lounging. Completely ignoring her he spoke to Shoebilly. “Did you get her to talk?” He asked
“No she wouldn’t budge.” He said giving her a (bombastic) scathing look.
“Such a shame, I really thought more of you Shoebilly.” Shoebilly looked away looking somewhat ashamed.
She looked up at Saps trying to muster all her strength and stubbornness into a glare. His eyes met hers, looking amused
“ Well unfortunately that’s all the time we have together.”
She was forced to her feet and led out of the throne room behind Saps.
