Cass eyed the spaceship sitting on the house before flicker to the weapons hanging from the rafters. When Jazz told Cass that her family has eccentric she had expected hoarders. But now as she took in the Fenton house Cass thought she should consider rouges.
Jazz rang the door bell and a man brandishing a bazooka opened it. "Jazz!" he cried crushing her with a hug.
"Dad you're squishing me."
"Whoops." He let Jazz go. "And you must be Cass! We've heard so much about you—good things only!—Danny and Mads will be ecstatic to meet you."
"It's nice to meet you too," Cass said.
"You're mother's making meatloaf, I just got put something in the lab."
"Oh, god," Jazz muttered leading Cass into the kitchen.
A woman hunched over the stove staring intently at the oven. "Jazz, honey, does it look like it's moving to you?"
She rushed over, studying it as intently. "I don't think so?"
"I guess it's done then," she said pulling it out. "Cass, right? I'm Maddie and my husband's Jack."
She put the meatloaf on the table and holding out her hand. Cass shook it politely. Behind Maddie the meatloaf started to move. In sync, Jazz and Maddie started to attack supper. From who-knows-where Jazz percured a broom and started wacking it while Maddie shot beams of green light at it, quickly subduing it.
"How's your first Fenton family dinner going?" someone asked. Behind her was Danny. Cass hadn't heard him come in.
