Chapter Text
Aqua woke up, and she felt different. She could see herself when she looked down, but she looked kinda see-through. She seemed to be in a tiny glass container of some sort. Next to her seemed to be other glass cases with hearts inside them. There was also some sort of light blue heart in her chest. It was the only part of her that wasn’t see-through at all. She wasn’t sure how she got here. Last she remembered, she fell down a really deep hole, and then got beat up by some guy that looked like a frog. Well, it doesn’t really matter. This glass case was boring. She tried to smash the glass, but her hand just passed right through it somehow. She tried to walk out of the container, but the blue heart in her chest couldn’t pass through the glass somehow, so she decided to just repeatedly hit the blue heart against the glass. It hurt, but the glass eventually broke, and she was free! She was about to leave, but then she noticed that a person seemed to appear in the case with the purple heart inside.
“Huh? Am I… dead?”
Aqua speaks to them
“Of course you aren’t dead, silly! How would you be talking if you’re dead?”
They respond
“The last thing I remember is being impaled by a spear, and now I’m transparent. So unless I died and became a ghost, I have no idea what could possibly be going on”
Aqua thinks about this.
“I don’t know what transparent means, but I guess you do kinda look like a ghost. Uuu! I look like a ghost too! Am I a ghost?”
The person pauses
“I… think so…? Anyway, I’m Seth. What’s your name?”
Aqua responds
“Uuu! I’m Aqua”
Seth pauses, again.
“Do you… not remember your name?”
Aqua is confused
“...No? I just told you my name”
Seth pauses again
“...Your name is the color of your soul?”
Aqua responds
“Wait… Aqua is a color?”
Seth pauses once again
“... never mind”
They try to get out of their container, but their heart can’t seem to go through it either. They look towards the container that Aqua was in, then back at Aqua.
“...hey… do you think you could… help me out of here?”
Aqua nods, then starts to try to pick up Seth’s container.
“...Aqua, I don’t think that’s going to do anything. Your hands are literally phasing through the-”
Aqua picks up the container
“Uuu! There we go!”
Seth seems surprised
“Huh? How did you-”
Aqua drops the container on the floor. It shatters. Seth is quiet for a moment
“Well… I guess that worked”
They stand up. Aqua speaks
“Anyway, I’m getting bored, bye!”
Aqua starts to leave the room, but then she hears Seth’s voice.
“Aqua! Wait! Where are you going!?”
Aqua points at the door
“That way.”
Seth responds
“Aqua, I doubt the two of us will be the only ones to… uh… wake up. Shouldn’t we be here when they wake up in case they need help getting out?”
Aqua responds
“Uuu… but I came here to have an adventure! Not sit in a room and wait for people to wake up! Also, I dropped my knife while that frog was beating me up, and I want it back!”
Seth looks surprised
“YOU HAD A KNIFE!?”
Aqua responds
“Yes”
Seth responds
“I guess I don’t know exactly how old you are, but you are clearly far too young to be trusted with a knife!”
Aqua argues
“I’m not ‘too young’! I’m six whole years old! I needed it in case I got attacked by bad guys on my adventures”
Seth pauses
“... You didn’t… kill anyone, did you?”
Aqua shakes her head. Seth seems relieved.
“Well… I don’t really think you’ll need a knife… cause… well… you know…”
Aqua argues
“But I want it!”
Seth argues back
“It might not even still be there! If you really want a knife so badly, just get a new one!”
Aqua shouts
“I don’t want a new one! I want my knife!”
Seth shouts
“Why!? What’s so special about that knife anyway?”
Aqua explains
“I got it for my birthday!”
Seth shouts
“YOU’RE SIX!!! WHO GAVE YOU A KNIFE FOR YOUR BIRTHDAY!!!!”
Aqua explains
“Mama did. Anyway, bye!”
Aqua runs out the door. She hears Seth’s voice
“AQUA, GET BACK HERE!!!!”
