Chapter 1: Arrival

Chapter Text

It’s a warm, hazy day in Los Santos. The state has just reopened after a rebuilding phase following the Faceless attacks. With all that behind them, the state is welcoming everyone, old and new.

Arriving from a small town in Liberty, stepping off a bus at Legion Square is Valerie Angel wearing a heavy backpack, a simple black band T-shirt, black leggings, and old, worn chucks. She has her platinum white hair up in a ponytail. She is young, energetic, and excited to start her new life as a cadet in the LSPD.

“Angel?!” A voice calls out, causing her to turn.

“Err…” She responds.

“Oh, sorry. I thought you were someone else,” the white-haired lady replies.

A shiver goes down Valerie’s spine; she knows exactly who she means. She’s talking about her estranged mother, the disgraced former Chief Justice Brittany Angel, who fled the state after making some very questionable decisions during the Faceless investigation. She hated her and hated being mistaken for her even more. Imagine being mistaken for such a whore!

“That’s okay, you’re probably thinking of my mum… it’s not the first time,” Valerie says with a grimace on her face.

“Brittany was your mother? Oh… so you must be new in town?” the older white-haired woman seems very interested in Valerie. Maybe she’s just being kind?

“Yeah, I’m running late for my first day at the police academy. I don’t suppose you know the way to the Mission Row Police Department?” Valerie asks the stranger.

“Sure, you’re actually super close. Just continue east down Vespucci Boulevard, and you’ll eventually come to it. Here, take my contact in case you get lost.” The woman holds her phone up to Valerie, and before she knows it, there’s a ping from her iFruit. On the screen is a picture of the lady and her contact details: Violet Snowe #424-420-6967. Valerie accepts the contact with a tap and smile, sharing hers in return; what’s the worst that could happen?

As Valerie walks away from Violet, her smile turns to a frown. She’s only been here for five minutes and has already been mistaken for her mother. Urgh, she hated her so much. Her entire life, she’s had to hear stories and rumours about that whore. Group sex, fucking anything with a pulse, gang-banged by gang members, you name it, she’d heard it about her mother—she’d even seen pictures of her bent over and legs spread on Twatter! It was enough to completely turn Valerie off sex. Living a sheltered conservative life and never having a relationship, she was a virgin at 22 and planned to keep it that way until she finds the one to settle down with.

She continues along Vespucci Boulevard until she sees it in front of her. The large building with the Mission Row Police Department along the front. So, Violet was right and told the truth; Angel smiles, knowing the kind stranger is someone she can trust.

Police cruisers are coming and going as a large crowd is buzzing around the main entrance; these must be Angel’s fellow cadets. As she approaches the group, she sees a blonde-haired man wearing a dark LSPD uniform with two stripes on his collar. He’s holding a clipboard with a list of names and a pen.

“You must be Valerie Angel?” he asks, hoping his final cadet has made it.

“Yes, Sir, that’s me. Sorry, I got a bit lost; it’s my first time in a big city,” she replies, slightly blushing.

“Well, I’m Captain Slacks, and you’re just in time. The buses have just arrived to take everyone to the old Zancudo military base where your academy will be taking place,” as he’s speaking, he ticks Valerie’s name on the list.

Along the far side of the MRPD building is a line of old coaches with their old diesel engines chugging away. With a signal from the Captain, everyone starts moving towards them to start their new dream jobs as Cadets for the LSPD.

After arriving at the old Zancudo military base, the new cadets are shown to their mixed sleeping quarters. They’ll all be sharing old army barracks; the rows of beds were first come, first served, so Angel quickly took one nearest to the entrance. She placed her heavy backpack down at the foot of the metal bed frame with a thud, then sat herself down on the thin mattress. The frame rattled and squeaked as she sat; these things must be ancient.

The room is dark and stuffy but alive with chatter. After a short wait, Captain Slacks appeared at the door. “Please, everyone, listen for a moment. People from my team are going to be handing out your LSPD Cadet uniforms; put them on. You must keep them in pristine condition at all times, or there will be punishments.” As Slacks finishes speaking, uniformed officers are handing out bags containing the uniforms and a box with brand-new, shiny black boots. Once finished, Slacks leaves the door as everyone starts to get ready.

Angel lifts her bag; her name is scrawled on the name tag. She begins to fish out different pieces of uniform and places each onto her bed to make sure she has everything. Being lost in her own little world, she turns and looks up, seeing her bed neighbour has already begun getting changed. His shirt is already off; he has a chiselled jawline, a piercing six-pack, and arms a gladiator would be proud of. Next, he unbuckles his belt and pulls down his jeans; a semi-erect cock bounces, restrained by his boxers. Angel feels a heat rising under her T-shirt; this is the closest she’s ever been to an undressed man.

“Nice to meet you too, I’m Damon,” he says, smiling at her, knowing exactly what she was looking at.

“Oh, I’m sorry, I just…” Angel stutters over her words and blushes, realising she had been staring straight at his member.

She turns away, shaking her head and scolds herself, “I will not be like her,” Angel mutters and refocuses on organising her clothes.
