Chapter Text
Wolf seized back to the land of the living. He had lost count of how many times the smell of Sakura and lotus invaded his nose. Sweat poured from his body as the pain overtook his senses. He wished for death, at least it gave him a reprieve from the constant torture when he was conscious.
Every so often large, cold hands would engulf his forehead or rest against his cheek. A pair of smaller warmer hands would also touch his cheek or forehead but never for long. The warmth was not welcome. Everything was already so hot, so painful.
Wolf’s golden eyes would flutter open just to close quickly giving the two, or was it four now, people a glimpse of the beauty of them.
Even with the pain he experienced, he refused to let any sounds escape his lips. His training as a shinobi still engrained in every being of his body. His mind wandered multiple times to his young Lord, hoping he was okay.
Wolf had left Kuro with the Sculptor, in the old, dilapidated temple he called his home.
A rhythmic tapping against his shoulder brought him back to the present, to the pain.
Wolf let his eyes flutter open once again, fighting to keep them open. Above him kneeled the large Lord of Ashina, or what used to be him. The tapping continued.
Sweat stung his eyes as it crested from his forehead. Blinking a few times, he started when large but gentle fingers wiped his brow, affectively ending that wave of sweat. The coolness of the fingertips was nothing but a tease. Soon returning to continue the tapping on his shoulder.
Vaguely, Wolf could hear voices in the back. A female’s voice, most likely Emma’s, and then two men’s voices. One of the voices seemed too loud, yelling.
A wave of pain coursed through his body causing his back to arch. The wooden impaled in his chest shifted, slicing through arteries. A silent, breathy cry escaped his lips as the pain flooded his very being.
The tapping was harder now but it had no power over the pain.
Wolf could feel the blood pool in his body, the arteries pouring his very essence into his own body. His lungs once again filled with blood, it happened the same every time. He had lost count.
He hoped silently that death would take him soon, so he could escape the pain.
His thoughts were answered when the numbness took over his body. The first sign of death.
Then the darkness on the outskirts of his vision started. He didn’t realize he had been staring at the Headless above him.
