Show Me I'm Good

Chapter Text

Katsuki actually managed to pass his provisional license exam.

With flying colors, mind you. The best score in the whole group. And Hakamata and Aizawa were both there to witness it.

He passed. He did it.

He couldn’t stop smiling on his way to pick up the card with his name on it. That said he was a hero in training.

He stared at it quietly, breathing in and out slowly.

He was ecstatic.

Hakamata greeted him afterward, smiling at his student. “Well done, Katsuki, I told you you wouldn’t have to worry about it,” he said, huffing as the wind was knocked out of him when the younger boy shoved himself into his arms.

“Couldn’t have done it without you,” he said quietly, just low enough for Jeanist to hear. Hakamata smiled wider, hugging the younger boy back.

“How should we celebrate? Katsuki, anything you want to do?” Aizawa asked, pulling out his car keys to drive them wherever the boy wanted.

“Actually, um… would it be okay if we just went back to the dorms?” Katsuki asked, looking up at the other two. “I think I want to talk to Hitoshi now. If he’s okay with it,” he said.

He’d avoided his classmates entirely for the last four days. He went to morning classes, ignored everyone, and then went straight to Jeanist’s agency without saying goodbye. A lot of them continuously tried to talk to him, but he wasn’t ready to speak to them. Not yet.

Maybe next week. But for now, he just wanted his boyfriend. He wanted to celebrate, with someone who cared about him. And he knew exactly who that someone was.

“He would love that, Katsuki,” Aizawa nodded, ruffling his hair gently. “Just don’t bully him too much. But you have my blessing to bully him a little.”

Katsuki smiled, nodding a bit, though he knew he wouldn’t.

Once they finally got back to the dorms, Katsuki made his way through the common area quietly. He hadn’t told anyone about today, and the only one who knew (pending the mystery of whether or not he’d kept his big mouth shut) was Hitoshi. He assumed the other boy hadn’t told anyone either, since no one asked him how it went. Everyone ignored him, though he didn’t miss the glances thrown his way by Kirishima and his group, along with Deku.

He followed Aizawa into the apartment part of the building, then headed up to Hitoshi’s room and knocked on the door.

Hitoshi answered after a few minutes- assuming that it’d been his dad, but his eyes widened when he saw Katsuki.

“I passed,” Katsuki said, chewing on his bottom lip. “Can I come in?”

Hitoshi nodded quickly, stepping aside to let Katsuki in and shutting the door behind him. The room was a fucking mess. It was clear that Katsuki hadn’t been up here in a few days, since he was the one always cleaning it up or nagging Hitoshi to do it. But… he supposed the other boy had been upset, so he wouldn’t say anything about it.

“Congratulations. I knew you were gonna pass,” Hitoshi said, forcing a small smile onto his face. “No doubt in my mind.”

“That makes one of us. I didn’t think I was anywhere near passing, but… I got the highest score, actually,” Katsuki said, blushing.

“Kats!” Hitoshi said, smiling brighter this time. “I’m so proud of you! That’s amazing!” He said, clenching his jaw when he remembered why things had been so awkward at first.

“Yeah. Thank you,” Katsuki said, nodding. “I’m just… I’m still…” He trailed off, trying his best to think of how to word things. “I don’t understand why you told them. I still don’t get it. But… I also know you weren’t trying to be mean,” he said. “So I feel a little silly being angry with you for so long.”

“No, it… You weren’t silly at all. I fucked up, and I know that, and I’m so sorry, Kats,” Hitoshi argued, shaking his head. “I won’t give you excuses like I tried to last time. I fucked up, and I know that. And I’m so sorry,” he said.

Katsuki hummed softly, nodding. “I know,” he said, sighing. “Just… don’t do it again, maybe?”

“Of course not! I won’t even look at them ever again if you don’t want to,” Hitoshi confirmed, nodding.

Katsuki laughed. “You don’t need to go that far. I’m… I’ll talk to them eventually. I dunno. I kinda never want to again, though. After… the shit they pulled,” he said.

“And I wouldn’t blame you one bit,” Hitoshi agreed. “Can… we be done fighting now? I really, really missed you,” he said.

Katsuki giggled before nodding, wrapping his arms around Hitoshi’s shoulders. “Being done fighting sounds great.” He gasped as Hitoshi picked him up, laughing as he was thrown onto the bed with kisses suddenly being forced onto his face. “Stop! Quit it!” He said though he laughed the whole time.

Hitoshi hummed, shaking his head. “Nuh-uh, don’t think I will. I think this is exactly what I want to do right now,” he said, pressing more and more kisses to Katsuki’s face. “How else would we celebrate?”

Katsuki pushed at Hitoshi’s chest weakly, humming. “I haven’t finished Adventure Time yet. Wanna do that?” He asked, smiling.

Hitoshi smiled back. “Adventure Time sounds amazing,” he agreed, laying down next to Katsuki and grabbing his remote.

Katsuki liked the peace. He hadn’t had any for a while. But… of course, Monday would prove to be a whole new monster.

When he’d actually have to face his classmates.
