Clark is the most human guy Jimmy has ever met.
Lois Lane is not Jimmy's type, but he can fairly admit that she's a pretty pretty lady- but Clark turned red as a tomato and started stammering the instant he met her.
It was cute, but concerning.
He quickly took some time to read Lois, pulling her aside whenever Clark was going to "get bagels," he wanted to make sure that she's legit and not a monster- he's still ever so slightly annoyed at the whole "lying to their faces" incident that nearly got them both *fired*.
And also *killed*.
But the fired part was more important.
Jimmy didn't even mind being lied to- if he did, Clark Joseph Kent would not be his best friend. He understands that lies are sometimes necessary.
Lois Lane does *not*
The lady has an obsessive compulsion with exposing the truth. She's the most skeptical person he's ever met- questioning everyone and everything until she's satisfied with the answers. She checks, double checks and triple-checks her sources before she even publishes her first drafts; she will interrogate people for the smallest story- and that makes her very very very weird because of how much she trusts Jimmy.
She's never made fun of Flamebird.
Odd, for a woman so obsessed with the truth.
She eagerly examined his murder board, showing approval at his proper citations. L. Lemaris, student at Metropolis University says that mermaids aren't real, however, L. Lang, L. Lerrol, and L. Lahla all swear up and down that they saw one on their class trip to Long Island (Jimmy suspects that Mermaids possess some sort of telepathic ability that prevents long term memory formation, with a limited range. Lemaris was swimming at the time, and says that she saw nothing.) Aliens & Area 52 are real and in Washington, attests J. Byers, M. Frohike and R. Langley and they have pictures and recordings. Lois paused at that one as if she was familiar before moving on.
Jimmy hasn't pried too much, but he's got a feeling that her obsession may be familiar. She's off-handedly mentioned her dad is in the area, but very notably never ever mentions him in casual conversation. Not a peep. Not a mention of "Oh he's going to be mad at me!" or anything. Not that Jimmy talks about his parentage (It's complicated). But her flat demeanor regarding such a close relative is bizarre. He's going to definitely ask her more in the future, but for now, he's gotta interfere in her investigations. He'd hate that if that were him, but well, it's for the greater good.
Lois's obsession with Superman was a big big concern and it was going to be Trouble.
